Looking to get away from the cold weather? I've got the perfect spot for you! Garfield Park Conservatory what a fantastic natural Wonderland! Here you can forget that you are in cold Chicago and enjoy nature in all its Glory. There are 2 acres of public greenhouse space and 10 acres of outdoor gardens. Best of all it's free! There is street parking along with a fenced parking lot available. There are eight different sections to the greenhouse area that include the Palm House, Fern room, show House, Horticultural Hall, Android house, desert House, Sugar from the Sun, and the Children's Garden. Bring the whole family! They have an excellent children's garden inside with a slide for the kids. In the summer bring a picnic lunch and enjoy all of the outdoor Gardens. City Garden, demonstration garden, sensory garden, Monet garden and the play and Grow garden. it's a wonderful place to come and spend a few hours and get away from your normal life.

I love this park after just one visit for a race. I just wish the city would invest more in parks on the west side. Everyone should visit to raise awareness!

This place is amazing. I wish it were open. I'm hoping it opens this winter because nothing is better for a Chicagoan's winter soul than a stroll the this green wonderland. I saw the Gardens of Monet today outside of the conservatory. Hats off to anyone who had a hand in this. The flowers were absolutely gorgeous, and I greatly appreciated the information on Monet.

We drove to walk around but skipped visiting as it was full of trash and homeless tents. Didn’t feel safe to visit with our family. Disappointing such a beautiful park in such a state of disrepair. Went to Humboldt park instead.

Beautiful park but you can tell the homeless have established a strong presence here. Daytime seemed fine. Idiotic graffiti on the statue of Lincoln needs to be removed

Loved visiting - had lots of beautiful plants and it was amazing to see some of the houseplants that I keep personally in a more "natural" setting growing HUGE! Would highly recommend if you're obsessed with houseplants like I am. They have a great little giftshop too where they sell some propagations of their plants too and lots of cute plant themed novelty items too!

As you can probably tell from the pictures this is not the kind of park you want to take your family to. while we were there we heard gunshots in the middle of the day.

I have been going to this park as long as I can remember. I know the neighborhood, and a lot of the people. I played at the Garfield Park Social Club.

The biznoom!!! Although depending on who you are you might have to duck, Dodge ,Bob and weave...πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ––πŸΏπŸ€ŸπŸΏπŸ€˜πŸΏβœŒπŸΏπŸ’ͺ Or you could wind up in the shootout I just keep it moving.

The park and buildings are beautiful and it's near the conservatory which is great. But the neighborhood is the greatest. just stay on track to what you want to go see.

Beautiful and informative curatorial tour of major plant biomes. Very strong collection of palms and cacti. Signage and materials for establishing contexts could be stronger. Historic photos are in horrible condition. Lincoln Park is possibly more child friendly due to the zoo and children's activities, but both botanical gardens (Lincoln Park and Garfield Park) are relatively complementary and have their own relatives strengths and voices, so visit both! Garfield Park gardens make the Park itself an excellent venue for larger family gatherings and Sunday at the park!

I thoroughly enjoyed walking and looking at all the plants in this conservatory on a cold winter day. This place was warm and provided mental relief that was badly needed. This place accepts donations only. You can donate whatever you can donate to enter the conservatory.

Nice park to visit with a really beautiful conservatory. Quite and great for a weekend trip or family outing if you're the outdoorsy type.

The park was cool. It's good to see people out and having a good time. Nothing like a good meal and friends.

Small, suburban, and quite frankly not worth the journey park. Came in in the morning hoping that I can get a bit out of the loop park experience but that was not it. And BTW if you see a WC, blue one and "women" written on it, basically do not get confused it is not for women but rather there is an actual woman inside puking :) well that was my experience anyway.

Beautiful park. If you're going to the conservatory, best bet to walk there and back. Lots of questionable stuff when you start to get further away.

We had a really disappointing experience walking around this park. Trash absolutely everywhere. Feels totally abandoned. Desperately needs attention.
