Jackson Bark

Dog park

😠 What a disappointment ☹️ We travelled far to experience this park and it looked abandoned and neglected with overgrown weeds and broken/forgotten obstacles some with rusty nails sticking out and unsafe for dogs to be jumping on them. The parking lot was blocked off and the surrounding tennis courts... People often mention park, dogs, Chicago, people,

What a disappointment ☹️ We travelled far to experience this park and it looked abandoned and neglected with overgrown weeds and broken/forgotten obstacles some with rusty nails sticking out and unsafe for dogs to be jumping on them. The parking lot was blocked off and the surrounding tennis courts have overgrown trees, bushes and weeds everywhere. It’s a shame the money that was used to build this park didn’t include the maintenance of up keeping it. Definitely not worth the trip.

Used to be fenced in tennis courts. Now it's like an obstacle course for your dog. It's pretty fun and unique. Definitely a creative park unlike any other in Chicago. It's community maintained and welcoming to all sized pups. Last I saw they added a mini water park and a diy dog bath out of blue recycle bins. Pretty cool!

What a delightful place for Barkley to be off leash for the first time! Friendly people and dogs abound with fun obstacles, doggie challenges, kiddie pools and fun for big and small dogs. We are so lucky to find such a lovely and safe place to take Barkley to explore and make doggie pals.

I've been to a lot of dog parks in a lot of states. This dog park is by far the most interesting. Todd has done a lot of work and there are a lot of stories behind each piece. If you and your dog are on the southside of Chicago and want a place to play, just Google Jackson Bark. You won't be disappointed.

The best dog park in Chicago, no contest. We love taking our girl to play here and jump on all the fun equipment. The park is huge, so there's always space for plenty of dogs to run around. Owners and their dogs are nice, and a first aid kit is available as well as hand sanitizer and a washing station. This spot is a DREAM

It’s a great place and safe for all dogs and kids. There is free parking and very well kept. I’ll be bringing my dog here more! Best park in Chicago hands down.

It is dilapidated and barely holding itself together. The only good part about going was that no one else was there.

Amazing place to let your pet go off leash and blow off some steam. There's a self-service doggie bath, obstacles, water hoses, swimming pools, and toys galore. A very nice respite for Hyde Park pooches.

This is the best dog park we’ve ever visited. The park is incredibly clean, safe, and fun. My pup loved playing with the many toys and obstacles throughout the park. There’s a divider to separate aggressive or anxious pups as well as first aid kits through the park.

My dog Ace has a ball. He played his heart out. A lot of activities. Very nice for a non city funded park. Wish i. Knew who made it. He deserves his flowers

Took my dog for a day out, there were people who look like to be training a group of dogs but the group was aggressive, especially towards my dog. I don't see why people bring out their dogs to public places knowing that they are aggressive towards other animals. Allot of places I try to go to have rules and regulations yet even when you find one decent enough for your fur baby there still is about of people who don't know how to control their animals. This is a sad thing and because of my dog almost getting ripped into its the reason why I'm never coming back here. I would not recommend.

Love this gem, off the beaten path but still made a few doggo friends today. Park seems sort of, forgotten though. A lot of effort seemingly went into planning-but park seems to have little upkeep?

Does the job. Definitely Time for some clean up, but there are a lot of things to do for visitors. The city needs to do something with the parking lot, it was a little lake when we visited this past weekend.

Best dog park ever. Just wish people cleaned up after their own dogs. Plenty of donated bags along fence to use if you do not have one.

I absolutely love this hidden treasure. My furbabies love it. Wonderful activities and fresh water. Poop bags available. Friendly people. A few places to sit and relax while the dogs play. Very clean. Well secured. It's free and safe!

Amazing dog park! Lots of space for dogs to run around. There are many things that makes this park stand out more than other parks in Chicago, but one of them is definitely the fact that they have a first aid kit! Everyone knows how dogs can be, so its better to be safe!! Free parking if you use google maps to get here!

An ABSOLUTE staple serving the south side of Chicago. It is incredibly well-kept, thanks to the manager volunteering his time & passion, along with great upkeep from fellow good citizens/dog owners. I love chatting with fellow visitors as our dogs run in the huge space and play on the many park elements. Eternally grateful for this space and community.
