UPDATE: I ended canceling my membership because for one every time I come in, thereā€™s more equipment BROKE or NOT WORKING!! Vending machine has been BROKE for months. I also discovered that If youā€™re a member here, you canā€™t work out at ALL of the LA FITNESS anywhere. AND Literally, there are only a few working treadmills, i canā€™t believe this gym is still open, very disappointed because itā€™s location is convenient. This gym is pretty decent. I like the classes so far. Only thing is the front desk staff isnā€™t very helpful at ALL and any question you have, they send you to the sales reps. I just signed up the other day and was unaware of the limited availability of the kids club that we have to pay $10 extra a month for. The Gm who signed me up did NOT inform me of the hours and this is my second time coming at 5 pm to find that the kids club isnā€™t open on Friday after 12 noon. Also came Thursday at 445 and was told to wait as the kids club doesnā€™t open until 5ā€¦. Still waiting for about 5 mins after and no one still showed up. Eventually I was able to work out. I wish I was told this information before because me main reason for signing up was the kids club. Iā€™m a single mom who tries to fit working out into their schedule and it was a huge inconvenience to come up here for nothing. The MANAGERS or SALES PEOPLE should be more clear on the details, and not just getting a sale.

I love the people hear but I prefer things not to be so gatto. People should not be allowed to play loud music anywhere. The hot tub and suna is always broke and it kinda small so when the big group of guys come it kinda hard to get your work out in because they seen to take over all the machines and they suck at keeping place clean .

I donā€™t know who is leaving this place 5 stars for cleanliness, but it is not that. There can be many pieces of trash around the gym, and I have even saw dead bugs. Multiple species, at that. The mask mandate is all over Chicagoā€¦ but not here. Whether these people are vaccinated or not they are certainly not wearing masks in this gym. There will be a select few but take a look around and see that the majority does not. Itā€™s so unfortunate because there are some upsides to this gym, of course, the jacuzzi and pool. They also have a lot of different equipment (duplicates). Thereā€™s always a staff member walking around and picking weights up off of the floors, so this is nice to see. I am not making this review to put down the place, I used to love it here, Iā€™m simply hoping this post will make change for the better.

About a month ago I was parked in the parking lot at Esporta located on 115th Marshfield My car was broken into everything stolen out. I went to front desk to have cameraā€™s checked . I was told the cameraā€™s are not working at this facility. I called Corporate to see when will they repair cameras. I was told I would receive a call back. Itā€™s now a month later no call back. I reached out to Corporate again to see when will cameraā€™s be working. This time I was told some of their facilities doesnā€™t have cameras at all again I would receive a call back. Iā€™m sure I wonā€™t. This is unsafe for members considering the crime in this area no working cameraā€™s

Worst gym I have ever been to. Upon walking in you will be immediately suffocated by a nasty musty smell followed by extreme dirtiness, lack of equipment, multiple people to a machine (that are using their personal speakers out loud ), and most equipment out of order (regularly.) The locker rooms have a not so pleasant un-identifiable odor, most likely due to the older women that enjoy the pool also enjoying roaming the locker rooms naked and playing music out loud all through the common locker room areas. :)Gym owner Shaun is not a manager just a con artist that landed a job. I was also told by Shaun that because I was from out of state I was not able to make use of the free trial like everyone else so I couldnā€™t even check out the gym before signing up. If I was given the chance to properly view the facility I probably wouldnā€™t even be wasting my time writing this review as I would have never joined. Once you sign up for a membership you wonā€™t get access to your personalized membership account or key tag to grant you access into the facility unless you beg and even then you still wonā€™t get it because I never did. Definitely donā€™t sign up for training itā€™s less than mediocre just like the gym and all of its inhabitants. I also learned that some people donā€™t even pay for their memberships they pick and choose some people are up in there working out for free meanwhile Iā€™m struggling to cancel my membership and continuing to be charged for services I am not using. Management does not actually care about your health and fitness goals what is most important is how long they can harass and shake you down for money. Good luck getting out of any membership once you sign up. (The high rated views are from a year ago. This review is to reflect the current state of this facility and management at this particular location.) I was taken advantage of, my experience was horrible and I will never go to another esporta/la fitness again.

My girlfriend had a membership in Lansing. She went to Lansing to cancel her membership, only to find out they decided to close without notifying her. She calls this location for help to cancel and they say Lansing transferred her membership to Tinley. She was never notified of this. She asks if they can cancel over the phone because we live nowhere near Tinley. They adamantly refuse because thatā€™s the ā€œpolicyā€, unless she shows up in person. She asked the employee to speak to a manager, he said he was the manager. She asked to talk to his boss, and he said Shane wasnā€™t available but it wouldnā€™t matter because his answer would be the same. This seems like a slimy way to get money out of people. What a joke, useless managers who obviously have no skills in dealing with the general public. Really, you canā€™t accommodate? I have worked in customer service my whole life. Sounds to me like you just donā€™t want to accommodate, or your managers are too weak to think for themselves and donā€™t have the customer service skills necessary for the job. Or they just canā€™t make decisions for themselves that require thought outside the box.

I attended two great classes but ..... I was informed I could not use the three day pass because I had a previous membership. (That's dumb) The guy S whom I had to show my pass to at one of the desks to the right became dismissive when the person whose membership granted me access. That was rude and how would that attitude encourage anyone to rejoin? One of the main reasons I left LaFitness.

The Pool and hot tub is always broke. However, the community in that gym is so encouraging and supportive. That gym mentally motivates all. It's a family there. But.... I NEED THE POOL...... So I give it a 3 for a pool that is operable 50% of my YEARLY membership

We had a little incident today with some people arguing and threatening each other. Allegedly, some guys from a neighboring suburb (on a guest pass) harrassed a female patron. All hell broke loose and some of us ran to safety. Management took TOO long to handle the situation and put people at risk. I will NOT be returning to this location. Not worth it.

Signed up here and paid for the whole year for my daughter and I. When I did, he said she had to be 12 to work out. Showed up today as I have been doing for 3 days straight, and I get turned around because the age is 13. Livid! Will never go to this gym again!

Needs a serious update. First time I walked in a gym and left back out after my cardio session. The weights were all over the place and they didnā€™t even have two of the same weights. If they did it was a complete different dumbbell. Made me feel like I got anxiety for sure. On top of that, no cable work so you stuck with the Lunny tune weights. Workers were very nice however they need to update this gym!!!

The management has no idea on how to run this club. Classes are listed on the club schedule and they arenā€™t held. You call the front desk and the attendant tells you that not responsible for the class listings. Donā€™t waste your time coming here for group instruction. This place is not professionally managed. Sad

The staff is very nice and friendly but the members are not courteous at all. This gym has the worst members they come in groups and take up all the space and some even sit on the free weights not letting anyone get them. Itā€™s always loud they have signs of no speakers but people still play on speakers. If youā€™re not part of a group good luck trying to get a workout in.

My locker was broken into today at Esporta on a 115th & Marshfield and my wallet was stolen. There was no sign of a break-in; so I'm going to assume someone cut my lock. Be very careful at this gym with your personal belongings. I've also seen reviews on car break-ins in their parking lot.

A sense of security for the regular patrons, some of which attended for over 20 years when Esporta was L.A. Fitness. Cleanliness has improved on 1st shift. Yet patrons leaving napkins after wiping equipment leaves a hot mess for the following shift before closing. The air quality is questionable due to the humidity of patron sweat. Efforts for equipment updates and repair are in progress. The Group fitness is popular during the day but dwindles toward the evening. Overall Esporta serves its purpose for individual needs.

Listen I been at all the gyms in the north surburbs in around Chicago. I was visiting out south and wanted to go to a gym. This gym is horrible. When I say the machines are outdated and they donā€™t even have machines like the other gyms have. Plus in certain area in the gym smell bad. This gym need to be updated especially in the weight area.

Had a good workout w/Rochelle's Aquatic Fitness Class. However Im still disappointed and at a loss for words with Esporta's handling of the Lansing location. We went for months parking in an off set tiny lot way in the back with minimal lighting while they were building a gas station. All the while being told that the club was not closing. Their employees at the time did not know that they were closing. I renewed my membership in March and found it closed in July. They never sent anything by mail. They posted it in the club in June. They closed 3 locations in the south suburbs. The treatment they showed their members is absurd and disrespectful. Allowing me to renew my membership with a reminder call from LA Fitness. The club on 119th Street is a travel distance away from me. Actionable

Honestly, they could have better wipes and service the machines more often but other than minor details it's a very good gym and reasonably priced for all the amenities they have pool, sauna, bikes, etc. There are many locations throughout the city and southwest suburbs.

This place should just downright shut down ... It's over crowded n the equipment is not well sanitized ... People just all on top of you when you working out .. it's just not a place to have "that me time" to workout or just have that moment/space ... This facility really need to find some kind of ideology how their customers will be pleased with and feel comfortable when working out ... Also hired some people who is knowledgeable of what the facility is all about..

JASON at corporate is the WORST. Extremely rude and condescending. I turned my membership and friends did too because of him. He was arrogant on the phone and made me feel like he was doin game a favor by refunding me what the gym owed me. ā„¹ downgraded a membership and they never turned the other one off so charged me for the 30.99 one AND the 19.99 for 4 months. I will never go back to this gym. It wasnā€™t the mistake it was JASON being so rude about it to me like I did something wrong. I will tell everyone I know not to visit this gym.

They do not care about members...it's about their bottom line. They cancel child care service at most locations and insist you go to general locations that have child care. Now there is an over flow of kids and usually no staff scheduled...WTH? So now they want you to drive out of your way if u want to workout AND use child care services? I pay extra for the "amenity". Whatever...they are only concerned with their bottom line and it's sad because they can actually be a good community partner that makes a difference.

The experience you expect from a gym, NOT here! I wouldnā€™t recommend my cats to come work out at this gym ,the smell is atrocious I know itā€™s a gym but damn do the owner even clean the equipment regularly ? Smells like onion soaked pubic hairs and thatā€™s just the small of it .The poor equipment that barely works ,what is it there for ? I could go on but I donā€™t have to it really does speak for itself!! Disappointed and disgusted is what I would just end this with .I honestly donā€™t understand how it has the 3.9 rating it does now definitely overrated .NEVER AGAIN

This gym is poorly ran and isnā€™t the most sanitary place. I was using the smith machine and a roach ended up on my back somehow. Canceling the membership is also a tedious process. I wouldnā€™t recommend this gym to anyone that values fitness and financial prosperity.
