Care within the hospital was good, both in the ER, leading up to surgery, and the days after. All new, private rooms and facilities that sometimes felt like a hotel. Food was ok but not great. Many nurses and personnel that were generally quick to respond. Sometimes there were long delays in treatment, by that's typical for any hospital unfortunately. Discharge was sudden and chaotic, and I was sent home with very limited instructions, at a time when most pharmacies were closing. Aftercare in general was badly organized or nonexistent. The cost declared to my insurer were through the roof, I can only describe that as pure evil greed. This hospital will screw you over if you are not insured.

Just at U of C Hospital again to meet with a seriously injured client. I am always impressed the doctors, nurses and entire team. They care a great deal about their patients and provide first rate care. I know first hand how respected they are in the medical community. Many of our clients are transported to U of C after initial treatment at another hospital because the injuries are just too severe for a "regular" hospital to handle. I highly recommend the University of Chicago Medical Center.

I am currently a Phlebotomist here and although I love what I do the people and environment make it very difficult to want to stay. There’s no structure from the head down in the lab, it’s too much favoritism that goes on and most work is put on those that actually work which isn’t okay at all but hey no one truly cares. So there is no reason to complain just find a solution to the problem and be blessed ☺️ Don’t allow anyone, especially in the workspace to steal your peace of mind and work you down like a dog you are valued and mean so much more!!

This is Chicago's latest most state of the art surgical care facility. University of Chicago is the top U.S. Hospital for research behind Sloan Kettering. The talent hear speaks for itself but the facility adds the latest innovations with fiber optic and robotic techniques. In the end the decisions around your actual procedure with imaging pre and post op conferencing and care can make the most profound differences. Here you are giving yourself the best team I think available. Hundreds of clinical trails and laboratory scientist provide a team that is just possibly a little better informed and supported. I am a physician with affiliations elsewhere and I send friends, patients and family to the U of C.

Terrible nurses at the 4rd floor. My husband stayed in the hospital at the 4rd floor. His had several nurses and out of 4 only 2 had smile. They don’t even ask you if you need anything. They want you to leave! They treat you bad to make you leave. They did not even wipe or clean my husband for 4days after the surgery! Why do you keep those nurses? Nurse must have a smile at least!!!! The patient Hygiene is important also. And attitude!!! Nurses has that. A special Nurse Stephanie at that floor. She even scolded my husband like a child

Was recently admitted to The University of Chicago Hospital's emergency room for observation after an asthma attack which caused a black out and sustained a severe fall to a tiled floor. Upon coming to, pain and swelling to the back occipital area of the head was excruciating. Was admitted via ambulance and was tested extensively for any bleeding, heart problems, neck trauma along with several other tests to determine the extent of damage caused by the fall. I was treated with respect and concern for my welfare from the moment I entered the E.R. I was admitted and continued to be observed and tested until I was released three days later and referred to one of their clinics for a follow up. I was given the opportunity to share some crucial history with the doctor's which assisted with a diagnosis while there. I would highly recommend this hospital for care. It certainly lives up to its name and claim to be "At The Forefront of Medicine". Andra C. Summerville.

Great staff! Everyone is always professional. They really take great care of their patients! I don't live in the area but it is worth the drive, gas and the tolls that I pay to get here! Your health comes first!

My mother had surgery there and the surgeon, anesthesia team and OR team were awesome. After being admitted to the 3rd floor, attention was lacking. Her bed was not changed and she was not even wiped off or changed for 3 days- when I finally did it. Two days later, I had to bathe and change her again. I filled her water pitcher each day. The patient meals were inedible, yet they are serving rotisserie chicken to staff and visitors on the 7th floor. Get it together U of C!

Honestly the best hospital I've ever been to. Everyone is welcoming and nice. Doctors have been on point with all their diagnosis and they explanation everything so well. I can't remember it all but they give you a folder with everything spelled out, even questions you didn't think to ask, play by play of the procedure, how to move forward, what the 2 week, 6 week, 6 month milestones are. You can always call if it's still doesn't make sense. Working between 4 different departments they all were able to keep tabs with either. Nurses are extremely compassionate and will go above and beyond, even the night shift. The cleaning crew came back 4 times until they caught me awake. Some of the food is a bit bland, but I found out you have to order it to be seasoned and stuff. Order early to get the smoothie, because they'll run out. Even if I lived out of state I would come here.

The Staff are very friendly and professional. The waiting area is comfortable and clean. I had surgery in November by Dr. Robert Naclerio. He and his surgical team made me as comfortable as they possibly could.

There is an employee there named Racine Reynolds, she was so nice and did a great job taking care of me while I was there. She worked so hard and we had such a nice talk, I kinda miss being there.

These people don’t care if your family member is dying. They don’t call you back. They don’t contact you. They don’t care to update you. If you call to speak to someone they literally avoid you. If their family were the ones in those positions karma will come around x2

This is a positive review about an amazing CNA named Dawana (who works on the 9th floor.) She has been a true blessing to my family and she made a hospital visit a much more bearable experience. Dawana's common phrase is "I love my patients" and she shows it in how she carries herself and provides appropriate bedside manner. I started to come on here and talk about a negative experience with a flamboyant male CNA- but I changed my mind. The good truly outweighs the bad. Let's focus on the good in our lives. It makes the bad things seem smaller.

Best hospital ever. They really do care. Outstanding doctors and nurses also security. Never have I been so relieved leaving my husband in their care. Thank you for caring for my husband and getting him on the right track.

This is the most horrifying horrible hospital experience you can't trust any of the doctors their front desk is very disrespectful I've never been to a hospital that I've been afraid to leave a loved one they try to convince you to pull the plug on your loved one and everything if you think about coming here don't runnnnnnnn fast!!!!!!!!! No empathy for they're patients it's very obvious and sad 😢

There's a little troll named Laura that works in Case Management. She is the most rude of a person you could meet. She has no personality other than making your stay at the hospital miserable. She must not have a nice life because misery needs company. When she was a young little trollett her class mates must of teased her so much she became a hermit and that's why she is the way she is. The stars are not for her, I'd giver nothing if I could.

Always the best. Always Honest, Always tell you like it is. If they don’t know they tell you so, then they get to work finding out what it is & the solution. God Bless everyone that works there. Rick Shepard

Excellent facilities and people. Very efficient waiting procedures. Felt like a commercial for a good health care facility.

Staff is awesome, very friendly and thorough. The atmosphere & rooms are very nice, pleasant and clean. My only issue was the nurses being in my room seemed like every 20 min. I understand it's their job, but I would have liked to get a lil rest.

Oh my! This hospital has come a very long way! It is peaceful now! The emergency waiting room is less congested.

The HR department at this hospital is just ridiculously unfair . They uses outdated policies to terminate people, allow nurses to take pictures and use those pictures against other staff members. The HR department ALWAYS backs whatever the nurse have to say to get someone fired.

I was admitted to CCD 8 West floor after undergoing surgery from being struck by a car. The surgeons, nurses and support staff were great. Special shout out to nurses Lili, Teri, Salma, Nicole, Cierra and Jack. Support staff Charvay, Keisha, Bresha, Jamila and Nikita. Therapists, PT-Wilore and OT-Marissa. Extra special thanks to social services worker, Gemma(Hemma) for all of her hard work. This hospital is awesome... I trust them with my life because they have literally saved it! Thank you. ~Tiara(TiTi)

Nurses are doing their best with limited resources here. However, the rest of the staff leave you wishing you went to a different medical facility. Rude, incompetent and inhumane staff at an organization that’s supposed to be top-notch is both disappointing and unacceptable.

👍👍 I’m actually flabbergasted at how incredible of an experience this was for me. This is the absolute first time I had a covid test of any kind. So I was already apprehensive as I was going in. I didn’t know what to expect. Then, to find that it was self administered. I got slightly more anxious. That...
