I had a referral to see Dr. Bonner from my physician at northwestern. Everything went great at first until recently. I paid my co pay of $50, paid $25 towards my bill, and when I was about to be seen for an ultra sound, I was stopped by the billing department and was refused service because I still had a balance (I have insurance through my employer) it was humiliating, and dehumanizing. I was refused services by the accountant per an employee from their billing department . She mentioned the accountant is, “ehh” 😐. So much for being a “Chicago womens health group”. My balance will be paid off, and I deserve to be treated better somewhere else. It’s so sad this “group” cares more about money, than my health. They were Worried about the cost of the ultrasound being 400, when my insurance covered $300 of the cost when it was $500. The fact that they couldn’t work with me, and instead humiliate me around the whole office was so traumatic, and unprofessional. I was at my most vulnerable crying in front of this stranger because of how embarrassed I was.

I initially had an amazing experience with Dr.ochs-mercer. She listened and was seriously truly amazing. Unfortunately, when I had my next appointment with her, the office called to reschedule because she had an emergency come up. I showed up to my newly rescheduled appointment and wasn't told until I was in the room that I'd be seeing a completely different provider because Dr.ochs-mercer still wasn't available. I dont remember the name of the horrendous provider I was paired with but she completely soured the entire practice for me. She did nothing but call me fat and tell me my BMI was too high for ALL birth control. I was a 5'6 185-190lbs (size 10) newly wed looking for contraceptive options. I couldn't believe there was NOTHING for me. And in her condescending tone, repeated that I needed to lose weight and come back, I went to the front desk to complain and was told I wouldn't be charged for the visit. I was shocked to see a bill come in the mail. I called and talked to numerous people in their office, left voicemails for every person they transferrd me to and never got a proper response on how this would be resolved. I continued to receive bills and threats of collections and eventually they did send me to collections for a bill I never should have gotten for a visit that provided no level of care. Did I mention that they would not let me schedule and ACTUAL appointment with Dr.ochs-mercer until I paid the balance I shouldnt have had in the first place? ridiculous. This center needs to apologize for Dr.ochs-mercer for running out a patient. I can't be the only one.

Great practice! Never had any issues; billing staff checks your insurance benefits to make sure you are covered; easy to make an appointment, never had to wait long, nurse Maria would always greet with a smile once they know the patient is there for the visit. High level of professionalism. Dr.Clinton is incredible, she walked us through two pregnancies and delivered our first one. We are happy to have her as a doctor!

Expect to be seen by the doctor an hour from your appointment time. Waited 30 mins at check in before being led to the exam room where I waited another 30 mins. I could hear the doctor’s chatting directly across the room from me. Stuck my head out to let them know I’ve been waiting with no update on what’s going on or when I would be seen. Within 5 mins the doctor finally walks in to see me. If someone had at least told me there’s going to be a delay of an hour, I would not be this upset. Just the combination of waiting and hearing the doctor’s gossiping/laughing so loudly across my room just made it seem like they were wasting my time & everyone else’s who made it to their appointment on time.

I initially liked the care I received at CWHG when I first started going in 2017, things have gotten progressively worse, mainly concerning my pregnancy. During most of my visits, I felt alone with little to no information about what was to come or any support beyond the bare minimum. The ultrasounds (sometimes roughly an hour) were done in silence, so thank goodness my partner was there with me. I am moving to another practice, and my first visit there made this place look even worse, so if you have the chance, find your "women's" healthcare elsewhere.

The lady at the front desk, Esther Rodriguez, was incredibly short with me and didn’t want to hear anything I had to say about my insurance or payment information. Cutting me off, talking over me, ignoring me, and disregarding my requests. As an OB patient, this is a huge red flag and I’m just glad she isn’t my actual doctor.

OK, so doctors and physicians are all nice and professional, but who ever suppose to pick up the phone is terribly unprofessional. They close at 5 Mon- Thu and you will never reach them 20 minutes even 30 before closing. And if you call before or after their lunch break, you won't be connected as well. The common scenario is the doc call you and you miss the call, when you call back in 5 minutes later, during their business hour, their operator disappear, leave you hanging curious about your test results. the operator should NEVER ignore calls before the closing time they state in their recorded message. Or why bother telling me when to call if you won't stick to your business hours.

This place is kind of hit or miss and I think it depends on who you see. I was planning on switching practices until I had a very redeeming experience with Jenna, who I believe is a nurse practitioner. Jenna took the time to ask me questions and get to the bottom of my issue. She genuinely cared and didn’t write off what I was telling her as normal or just something I’m “prone to”. On top of that, Jenna told me she would call me two days after my appointment with an update on some labs. I’ve been disappointed by this promise with other doctors in the past, so I didn’t fully believe she would. But low and behold at 9:30am two days later she called me with a full explanation and care plan. I can’t emphasize enough how nice it was to have someone who actually asked questions and dug deeper. This was excellent care and for this first time I get taken care of.

Mary from the billing department was the rudest, most unprofessional individual I have ever had the displeasure of working with. Dr Kelsey was great, he made my girlfriend feel absolutely welcome and comfortable throughout the entire process. The way we were treated by Mary in the billing department is utterly unacceptable. May have to get a new doctor based on our experience with her.

I had an appointment with dr. Mulchindani who I love. However when I checked in I was told to go to billing because I had a balance. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to make payment at the moment due to my financial situation and asked if I can make arrangements. The lady in the billing department told me I must pay the full balance before I can be seen. I just wish I knew this before I came . They refused to see me and I honestly believe the lady at the billing office was racist. I will be changing providers and I don’t recommend anyone to go here.

I chose Dr Onia because she was recommended on social media for being a body positive OBGYN in Chicago. I appreciated that the intake staff did not weigh me since I requested not to be weighed and gave me zero grief about it (as someone who is triggered by the scale and has a history with eating disorders, I greatly appreciated no hassle). And I also appreciated that the doctor did not discuss my weight at any time during the appointment. I was checked in and brought to a room right at my appointment start time, and the doctor came in within 15 minutes. She was very friendly and kind, easy to talk to, and provided good information. I also know based on her bio that Dr Onia teaches at Northwestern medical school, which gave me additional peace of mind knowing that she’s up on the latest and greatest procedures & Technologies as well as ushering in the next gen of OBGYNs. The check-in and checkout staff were courteous and efficient. I will be going back for some follow up visits soon.

I was surprised to see many bad reviews for this place. I had Dr. Gale for my whole pregnancy and Dr. Onia who delivered my baby. Both doctors are great and very nice. It’s quite convenient to have ultrasound and OB consultation in one appointment. Yes, sometimes there is a wait of up to 30 minutes for a busy day. It is affiliated to Prentice hospital, which is one of the best facility to deliver.

Never had a more expensive pap in my life. My insurance covers my annual but the doctor came back and charged me the difference they didn't cover, it was a couple hundred dollars which I immediately paid. Afterwards, wrote the office and told them I would not be returning as a patient. Despite that, they automatically scheduled me for a 6 month follow-up and then tried coming after me for a "no show" bill of $50, I had to reference back to when I told them I no longer would be a patient there to get the $50 Bill cleared up. Then, two years later, they hounded me for $26 that they said was a remaining balance from my initial pap in 2020. I paid that balance today to make them go away. I've never had to pay this much OOP with my OBGYN before or after Dr. Kelsey's office. Before booking here I'd ask their office to clarify what they would be charging you outside of your insurance coverage and get the fees worked out ahead of time.

Dr. Clinton was fantastic as she cared for me through my first pregnancy. She helped quell all my first time mom fears as a laid back experienced mom and doctor herself.

I had my appointments canceled 3 times over the course of a month in a half time span. Every time was for Dr. Ochs-Mercer being in deliveries. How is there not another doctor on staff to see patients if this happens THAT often? I'm trying to get a yearly check-up and need my IUD taken out and this place could literally care less. I loved Dr. Ochs-Mercer but now need to find a new provider. Incredibly disappointed.

This was the worst experiences I’ve ever had during my life!!! They canceled my appointment at the last minute without any apologies. The front desk staff was extraordinary rude by hanging up my phone call directly before I finished my words. Save your time and go somewhere else!

I saw Dr. Ochs-Mercer and my visit with her was overwhelmingly positive. She answered all my questions and was well informed of the latest research and reassured me the whole time. She is incredibly patient, friendly, knowledgeable, and made me feel like I mattered. She was very empathetic and came up with a plan towards what I came to see her for. I left the office feeling no longer scared or anxious about my condition. Be sure to arrive extra extra early as parking might be scarce given it’s location in downtown and for any paperwork you have to fill out. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and the medical assistants were kind as well given how busy they were at the time. I will definitely be back for my OB/GYN needs.

We had the best experience here. My wife and I came here after getting pregnant and Dr Bonner walked us through every step of the way. Dr Bonner is very personable and positive. She was very knowledgeable and helped a couple of nervous soon to be parents get to the point that we have an amazing little boy and we’ll forever be grateful. The office staff is very courteous and helpful when it comes to making future appointments. We would highly recommend them to anyone asking!

Very disappointed to be denied care for being over 30 weeks pregnant. I just moved to Chicago, with all the record of my pregnancy. I just don't understand the discretion to decide that I'm not fit to be served. The dating staff is unempathetic and they talk to you like they're doing you a favor.

I am seeing Dr. Gale and love her. I am 7 months pregnant and she has been a wonderful doctor. She is knowledgeable and compassionate, the office is very nice and the nurses and techs are great too. I have to say that the ladies at the desks are good at their jobs and while they may seem tough, they deal with so much crap and so many rude people you have to cut them a little slack. Once I got to know the staff a little better I found they are very nice and accommodating. Dr. Gale is very laid back with me which I love because I am not an alarmist. I am sure she works differently with each patient to accommodate their style but I would absolutely highly recommend her for anyone looking to go through their pregnancy without unnecessary added stressors.

The staff here is so kind and amazing. I came to CWHG while suffering a pregnancy loss and their kindness, compassion and reassurance has truly meant the world to me, especially during this very challenging time.

I’ve been going here ever since I moved to chicago 7 years ago, and I’ve always had a pretty good experience. Typical gyno office with sometimes long waits but overall ok. I recently switched to dr Kelsey and I gotta say, it’s made the experience so much better. I never thought I’d actually enjoy going to a male gyno more than a female but he’s so non judge mental, and I when I told him I didn’t want to have kids instead of saying something like “oh maybe you’ll change to ur mind” he was basically like “that’s cool! It’s not for everyone!”. And I really appreciated that. Good bedside manner too, I can tell he always tries to make me comfortable by asking small talk questions as he’s doing his exam, which I also appreciate

DO NOT SEE DR ROBERT KELSEY-- SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO THE OTHER 1 STAR REVIEWS. I booked an appt with Dr Kelsey despite the bad reviews because I needed help ASAP. I called day of to confirm since I had to lose a day of income taking off work. They confirmed. Got there early & still had to wait 30 mins past appt to get a room. I get in & he sends a nurse telling me since I had my annual Pap smear elsewhere he wouldn't see me. I explained that I really needed treatment ASAP for the condition going on (daily heavy bleeding & pain) & my DR was in Detroit (recently moved to CHI). Dr Kelsey told the nurse he wouldn't work with a patient that possibly wouldn't be a repeat patient for him - which I explained I was more than willing to be. The nurse apologized telling me this made no sense & tried multiple times to get the DR help. I offered to make follow up appts & let them do the pap smear but still was refused. I asked to speak with the DR and was told by the receptionist he had moved on & I could wait til his next patients were done.

I was first recommended to CWHG to see Dr. Kelsey back in March 2022 when I first found out about my pregnancy. My first couple of visits went great and I felt I was in good hands. However, by the time I was 12 weeks pregnant I started experiencing some pretty serious symptoms that I expressed at every single visit and it was always dismissed as “normal.” Fast forward to me being 7 months pregnant, I ended up being admitted into the hospital for a week for these same concerns where multiple other doctors had to help me for something Dr. Kelsey always brushed off as “normal.” I tried to switch to a different doctor at the office, was at an appointment to see her, and Dr. Kelsey came in instead to do my appointment. My appointments seemed to get shorter and shorter with him, where I would feel rushed and could never express my concerns because he always seemed he had better things to do. At this point I was so close to having my baby that I decided to just stick it out and continue the rest of my visits with Dr. Kelsey. The day I was 37 weeks pregnant, I had an appointment that afternoon. I was noticing inconsistent contractions that morning and later felt as though my water possibly started to break. I went to my appointment a couple of hours later where Dr. Kelsey “tested” and said it wasn’t my water. I continued to experience this for the rest of the day, and had a bad feeling that something was wrong and so I called the on call doctor who advised me to head to triage. I went in and they instantly knew it was my water. So my water had been broken for 12 hours and Dr. Kelsey sent me home and if I had trusted that answer I am not sure what could’ve happened to my daughter. I eventually got to my room at the hospital where Dr. Kelsey came in shortly after to greet me and when I informed him that I was there because of the same reason I brought to him at my appointment, he disregarded it and without talking to me or giving me any options, upped my pitocin which caused severe contractions very early on and I was forced to get an epidural way earlier than I was ready for because of the pain. When he delivered my baby, there was no expression or empathy from him. He came in, did the job, and left as though I was not his patient for the last 9 months and it just felt as though he didn’t care. No one ever explained my postpartum after care to me or anything. I had a couple of regular visits afterwards and they were fine but still just felt disregarded most of the time. I recently went back for more health issues I have been experiencing to which they ran random blood tests and wrote it off as a health condition that requires more testing and doesn’t answer questions for several other symptoms I have been experiencing and when I expressed that I was still concerned to the nurse her response was “I understand, if you have any further questions you can call us back.” Even though she had nothing to say about these symptoms and they don’t align with the diagnosis! I am so tired of feeling like my health concerns aren’t real and like I don’t matter! This office is not a cheap place for me to be getting my care and yet I don’t feel as though I have ever been cared for! The front desk staff and check out staff are always so rude and uninviting on top of it all. I will be finding a different doctor to get the care I deserve and get REAL answers!
