I wish I had an option for a 0 star because this gym deserves it. Staff is so rude. They make it obvious they don't care about you or the money you're paying. This location comes up with their own policies on the spot, that no other lifetime has in place, and they're very good at being creative with those just to make you leave. I've left many complaints about the staff before but never heard anything back. This place is overcrowded and no machines are ever available, on top of the fact that they're always dirty. Save your money and go someplace else

Honestly really disappointed with this gym. You guys took away a basketball court and made a pickle ball court that I have not seen been used yet. When you guys had the second basketball gym, you had more usability. That court could have been used for multiply array of activities. What you guys should have done is installed a system to raise the basketball hoops when needed for other activities. Now you can’t even play basketball until the evening, when all those classes you do in the gym are finished. GET RID OF THE PICKLEBALL COURT. What a waste of money. You could have instead, was build a pickleball court outdoors.

Been a member of this club for years now only reason I still have my membership is for the other LifeTime locations such as Schaumburg. This rim has been like this for weeks now and doesn’t seem like they’re going to do anything about it. As someone who enjoys playing basketball especially FULL COURT basketball this upsets me. They already took away one of the basketball courts and replaced it with pickleball the least they can do is maintain a good condition of the one and only court they have. Replace the rims and nets when broken and please wipe the floors especially after kids birthday parties/events and zumba. Been to other Lifetimes in different states too such as Arizona and this Lifetime club in Old Orchard is by far the worst one I’ve been to. They’re lucky its the closest one to my house or else I wouldn’t step foot in that facility.

My two friends and I signed up to take a tour. We were actually ready to sign up but we wanted to check everything out and see what there was to offer. This guy comes to tour us and literally walked and talked so fast we had no idea what anything was. He was about 10 feet in front of us, never gave eye contact, said down the hall is bathrooms and showers and pool is through here. Courts are here and there are rooms with classes. Upstairs is equipment. Any questions? Ok well I’ll leave you here and if you want to sign up then go downstairs and ask someone for help. Couldn’t believe the service. We did our own tour and figured out where everything was but horrible. We decided not to sign up just for this experience.

Beware this new member is stepping and bumping into people and chasing behind them while exiting the locker room as he is being odd &disrespectful to people and the staff didn't remove him Adam to be specific watched him run up from behind me in threatening manor as I was exiting locker room and employee witnessed it standing by my left side did nothing about it. I been there since they opened never had that happen to me there or seen their employees ignore something so serious!

Facility is great but I loved it for being a 24 hour gym. Understandably when covid hit they reduced the hours but it seems like it’s never coming back. If you’re looking for a late night gym you won’t find it here.

We have a family membership & have been coming to the facility for a few months now. My husband has been a member for years. We always come in the evening as it’s the best time that works for our family. Never had any issues about using the family locker room. But recently it’s been a challenge but only whenever Chris is at the checkin desk. He always stops my son from entering the family locker room. He says something different each time….out of service, closed, not available today….now he’s saying it’s policy. We explained to him that my son would just be putting his bag in a locker and simply walking thru it to get to the pool. He is a young kid & not comfortable using the men’s locker room. Yesterday was the limit, when we asked him for a solution to the problem he said we are more than welcomed to terminate our membership if it’s not working for us. We were not able to use the facility yesterday. In terms of customer service I believe this is quite disgraceful. We never have issue when other associates are at checkin or at other locations (like Schaumburg). In fact the associates at Schaumburg have a very respectful demeanor. This location gives its members a hard time. It’s almost as if they want members to terminate their membership.

For two years I have been informing club staff that their accessible rooms for people with disabilities are not sufficiently accessible: surveys, oral and written messages. Not a single person who uses a wheelchair and cannot stand can use the shower rooms in the form in which they have existed for all these two years. All this time we found a way to put up with these problems, but after some "improvements", the situation with accessibility became even worse. For more than two months I have been regularly reporting tired and in writing about the acute need to replace at least the hose in accessible shower rooms. This proved to be an incredibly intractable problem for the club and general manager Juan - too busy to show up for work. Poor service for your money.

So. Two more weeks have passed since the publication of the review about unaccessible showers at Lifetime Old orchard and two years about talking about it and unsuccessful by customer opinion job of its manager Juan .. And .. Do you think the situation in the club has changed? Of course not! Are you sure you want this level of service buying the membership?

Recently canceled our entire family membership. The staff is good, however, nothing is being done about the lack of respect of unattended kids on the gym floor. Kids are using it as a Social gathering instead of actually working out. These kids to no fault of the gym, have no gym etiquette, no respect for elders and a sense of entitlement that is beyond comprehendible. These kids are unattended by adults yet the gym has a policy that parents must be in the building. I am not paying the membership fees this gym requires to be insulted or to have to teach horrible kids how to behave. I suggest you go elsewhere until management realizes enforcement is necessary for people to use the equipment and facility at peace.

I was a member of this gym from 2011 to 2019 and loved it for its 24-hour accessibility. However, following the COVID-19 pandemic, I decided to cancel my membership. Recently, I contacted the gym and was surprised to learn that they have really raised their prices while reducing their hours!!! It's not worth it won't sign up again.

I love this gym, the only thing that doesn't make this facility great is that almost every time I get checked in the staff member is literally looking at tiktoks or something else on his phone and makes literally no effort for eye contact....I know its what to expect of his generation,...still rude. My family and friends who go here have noticed the same, its usually just one of the male staff in particular so can't say its a lifetime thing, but he's always there so I wish management would address him for it.

Nice lavish luxury gym. Would live in the giant walk-around hottub if I could. They need to stop renting their pool lanes all night every night to kids swim teams. I pay for open swim and there's none to be found.

Like a lot of businesses, Lifetime isn't the same as it was prior to the pandemic. I used to give it 4 or 5 stars, but it just isn't as clean as it once was, particularly the locker rooms and shower area. The workout area often is in chaos. To be fair, a lot of this is due to members not cleaning up after themselves, but that also tells you something about the club, when patrons don't take pride in it. And it isn't cheap, you could find plenty of other gyms for a lot less.

Staff is great and I've been a happy member for many years, but the situation with the sauna not heating up properly has been going on for months now. A lot of members are looking into alternative gyms with working saunas. I'm not ready to switch yet, but how is that every other Lifetime has a working sauna but not this one?

I was in the gym playing basketball with some friends when I look over and see Roxanne who is the manager, going thru my property and taking photos of my property without my consent or knowledge. It was a complete invasion of my space. I was being respectful and when I had asked for the same back there was a problem. When I seen her after the incident she went on and said “ you think i’m scared of you “. This is completely childish and very low of the lifetime associates to treat a member with this utter disrespect, especially with her being the manager, I would expect a lot more from a manager. Not this rude childish behavior. I like coming to this gym but when I get treated like complete garbage after having the upmost respect it gets irritating. The last person I’d expect to treat a member like this would be a manager.. yet it was.

I can't imagine a fitness center or gym containing a more complete package of equipment, courteous employees, salon, cafe, and so many other amenities. If I lived anywhere close, this would be my preferred gym by FAR. I'll also post a picture of the amazing frittata the Cafe made me post-workout. Fantastic place, can't wait to come back!

Don’t fall for this fancy look gym. The price is not for the service rendered . Management service is horrible. They don’t care about customer sarisfaction. Once you bring up a problem, they ignore it even though they might say it would be considered . But later again and again you will see the same problem . I have seen again of blood on towel many time and yet no body cares. The rinse machine is broken for weeks and when asked for reason. They said waiting for part. Hello, we are in USA. Any part can be shipped in matter of days. The jacuzzi has black spots on wall. Based on my expertise, it is nothing but a growing molds. I brought is up also and yet nothing . Front desk is like a match . Com they like to flirt with members and nothing else. It is unfortunate to see this gym is going down the hills. They should learn something that customer satisfaction is the priority key to success . You don’t own this damn place. Do your job please

Unfortunately, there are kid swim teams/lessons that take up 3/5 adult lanes after work hours (4:30-7 pm) every single solitary day. I was not informed of this prior to signing up for the gym and that was the whole reason I started going. For the price, definitely not worth it.

I've been to this Lifetime a handful of times, and it's absolutely horrible. The club is filthy, the machines are in bad condition, the layout is poor, and the locker room reeks. I genuinely don't get why this is on the same tier as clubs like Southdale, which is phenomenal, and even above clubs like Target Center, which is ten times nicer. If this is your local Lifetime, it's not worth the money.

I wanted to write this review specifically about one of the amazing trainers they have at the location. Terri. E teaches Ultra Fit and she is by far the BEST Instructor I have EVER had! Her layouts are always well thought out and extremely challenging, which is exactly what I’m paying for. She is personable and encouraging. If you haven’t tried her class, I highly recommend it! Get your fit on!!!!!

Walked in today with every intention to sign up, as my friends gave great review. Person at the front desk major attitude, first he lied to me about price, very different than online and what my friends pay. He had a gum in his mouth talking over it and made me feel as I shouldn't be there. Too bad...they just lost family of 4 membership. Wouldn't go if it was free now. To the guy at the front desk around 2pm...major attitude reset.

Clean facility. Great equipment. Luxury experience. Only con is it’s Expensive at $150 a month, But, I believe it’s worth it if used consistently. No gym in the area can compete with the amenities this place has to offer.

For families, especially those with young kids, Lifetime Fitness is a game changer. With two toddlers under 3, finding personal time is a rarity for my wife and me. But this gym has transformed our routine. The fusion of top-notch facilities for both adults and children means our entire family looks forward to our visits. Yes, the membership fee might cause a slight double take, but for families of 3 or more, it's genuinely worth every penny. We've explored other options, from nannies to part-time daycare, and nothing matches the value and convenience of Lifetime Fitness. Notably, their kid-friendly pool sets them apart from competitors like YMCA, EAC, and Northwestern. And while our little ones took some time to adjust, the empathetic staff eased the transition. If you're seeking a holistic family experience, I cannot recommend this place enough.

I’ve been a member at Lifetime on and off for 20 years. I’ve always enjoyed the standard of excellence that’s present at every club. The Old Orchard location specifically, is fantastic and very welcoming. My family and I frequent there often and my son loves it. The new Lead General Shahd S. has been a tremendous addition to a staff that was already continuing the standard of excellence I’ve grown accustomed to. As a member of the community and a longtime Lifetime member, I say thank you. We appreciate all that you do and see your efforts to create a sense of community for all of us, bravo!

Good gym in a convenient location. Pool for lap swimming gets crowded and swimmers do not like to share or split the lanes. Great to get a hair cut and a coffee at the cafe.

  • 1/5 Damian C. 1 year ago on Google
Coming from Vernon hills this place sucks. Not enough benches for free weights. Not once have I seen the staff go around and wiping down equipment. Before peak hours. Half the equipment is sticky, when I go to wash my hands there’s no soap. And only one basketball court. Mid not worth it here might as well go to la fitness.

They got pickleball courts and open pickleball times 👍 indoor swimming pool 👍 menu at the cafe looks good and so do the ingredient list on their prepackaged meals. It’s got a nice vibe so far. Gabe at Member Concierge was very welcoming and helpful. Signing up. And thank you! Oh, forgot about the other bonus, they have Pete’s coffee and not Starbucks 👍

Recently joined and so far we love it. It’s a great fit for active families. The pickleball community is great and there are tons of open court as well as reserved times. Kid’s amenities are top notch. Overall the patrons have been welcoming but there is definitely an opportunity for people to put their wet towels in the laundry when done.
