My father was in this hospital for 7 days without being fed. He was slated for hospice even though my sister insisted against it. The doctor had her own agenda. She decided he was going to die one way or the other. They had Journeycare do an evaluation for hospice and over a week repeatedly tried to talk my sister into putting our Dad into hospice. Throughout this period, which lasted a week, he was given absolutely no nutrition. After going a week without eating, he may die anyway. The nurses ignore your phone calls; you never get a call back. I would give 0 or negative stars if I could.

Brought my daughter in on 11/22/23 because she had a seizure at home. The staff in the ED saw her immediately and ordered tests. The ED doctor came in after several hours to review results and was told that the possible cause for her seizure was due to her antidepressant medication, Wellbutrin. Doctor then said she consulted with the on call neurologist and was told that my daughter needed to immediately stop taking her Wellbutrin. No weaning off but just stopping cold turkey. My daughter has been taking Wellbutrin for 2 years and has not experienced any side effects during that time. I asked the doctor if that was what they really recommended and she said yes. Well since then and because the following day was Thanksgiving and then the weekend, my daughter has been off her Wellbutrin and on 11/27/23 began experiencing suicidal thoughts. So badly that we had to go back to the ED again this time in Woodstock because they have a behavioral health department there. When I mentioned what happened at McHenry Hospital, the ED doctor said my daughter should NOT have been told to completely stop taking her Wellbutrin! Because it is dangerous and now is contributing to her suicidal thoughts. I may have to consult an attorney about the danger my daughter was put in. I am very disappointed!

Same as others. I would give it a zero Stars if I could. This is the worst emergency room I have ever been in. And I worked in emergency rooms for 20 years. My daughter was here with a hypertensive crisis. Chest pain headache. 2 Hours in waiting room watching much lower acuity patients walk out. They should have been bumped to the waiting room to make room for high acuity patients. Who should be seen first anyway. Was finally taken back after we were signing out AMA. I sure wouldn't want to be having a heart attack and come here. Never never again.

They need to improve on their diabetes emergency care and hospital care. Our daughter has been there several times, and they don't listen to the patient. The emergency room should listen to that patient since they know their symptoms and avoid unnecessary testing.

I leave this review with a lot of emotion. My wife was here to have our 5th child. I am a very positive person and try to find the good in everything. However the experience we had was very upsetting. They missed the epidural and my wife's heart rate and and blood pressure spiked so high she started shaking and kept saying there's something wrong there's something wrong. 3 to 4 nurses were just looking at here saying we don't know what it could be. My wife then looked my in the face and started crying Asking me to please not let her die here. Emotionally it almost dropped me to the floor. I knew then I had to to be a strong advacate for her. I did lose my cool and defensively

I am appalled that I paid a bill and though I paid it they sent it to collections. When I called to try to get assistance I was treated with disdain and little regard from the representative Sarah. She blamed me for the bill though there was apparent proof that I paid the bill. When I asked for the billing supervisor, Nick, he was magically busy. Of course he returns the call three hours later and I had paid the bill again. To have such little regard for a patient, especially during a pandemic and recession is appalling. To try to ruin my credit when I made the payment is unacceptable. I ended up paying a collections agency to avoid it showing on my credit report. Please note this bill had already been paid and Sarah saw evidence of it. Despite this, she blamed me for a system that apparently can apply payment where ever they feel. Sarah’s passive aggressive attitude was poor representation of customer service and was laced with racial undertones that leave me feeling vulnerable and humiliated that this hospital was ever trusted to care for me. How is this fair? Is this how you treat people? I would rather be sick then visit your facility and ever have to deal with Sarah and Nick again. I always raved about this hospital and staff, but now I must admit that I sadly misjudged. The sum of the quality of a hospital is how they deal with triage and yesterday this hospital failed. I am disappointed that this was ever a hospital I preferred. A hospital staff that operates this way is indicative of a broken system. Centegra, Northwestern whoever you are, this practice is unacceptable.

Came at 2am for my 7 year olds ear infection. There were 5 people ahead of us in the waiting room. Said it'll be 2 hrs before a doctor could see us. Which I thought was kind of understandable. 3 hours later and not one person in the waiting area had been seen yet. We left. Thankfully my son was feeling fine by then but damn. They might as well have put a closed sign at the damn door

Wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the amazing staff at this hospital who took care of my husband after a critical car accident. My husband was initially seen at Northwestern in Huntley and the transferred to McHenry. I wish I could remember the names of everyone who showed so much kindness, care and compassion. I do specifically want to thank Danielle in the ICU department who mainly took care of my husband during his stay- you are an absolute gem. The patience and attentiveness that was shown in our time of need will never be forgotten. I literally could not think of any negative experience during my husbands stay and I cannot emphasize how grateful we are.

My significant other was thier for four hours in the er and the staff forgot that she was thier. She explained she hit her head and had a 8.5 pain level.. No Dr. Came no services were offered. They finally told her just to leave. Is this how our health care has come to pass? I would never use this hospital for anything again

if i could give this place zero stars, i would! i brought my daughter in for abdominal pain at 4:00 and it is now 8:45 p.m still haven’t even been seen. we have witnessed someone having a stroke and another person having a seizure here in the waiting room. we aren’t the only ones that have been waiting for HOURS. i don’t know if it’s lack of staff but this is supposed to be an emergency room. you’re supposed to be seen quickly. at least turn your patients away by letting them know it’s more than an hour wait. will never ever be returning here.

I went to the hospital because I could hardly breathe. The staff was friendly and incredibly professional. I was tested for the flu, strep, and mono. I was given a CT scan and was at the hospital for 3 or 4 hours. The bill was 14 thousand dollars. If possible, have your emergency at a less expensive hospital.

Labor and delivery nurses are absolutely wonderful! I definitely don’t regret picking a smaller hospital to have our first baby. This team of nurses was always there for us within seconds of calling for assistance. You can tell they all love what they do, very passionate, personable and easy to communicate with. The care they provided for our first new born and my wife for beyond amazing.

I would not send my dog to this hospital. The help is friendly for the most part and some what professional. But when it comes to getting your records sent to another doctor or getting them at all you better have the patience of a saint You will fight forever. Bottom line, just go somewhere else.

If I could leave a 0 star I would. Took my wife here for chest pains and shortness of breath. Waited in waiting room for over 3 hours. They took her vitals and Drew some blood. And sent her back to waiting room. The ambulances were bringing in new patients on stretchers and unloaded them in waiting room putting them in wheelchairs. Several people came in after us and was taken back for different tests while she sat crunched over crying in pain. I never seen anything like this. We finally left to go to Good Shepard Hospital we are on our way there now.

I honestly love this hospital and I love all the medical perfessionals I've experienced with northwestern. I was born & raised near the city were going to the hospital was only if you REALLY needed it or you were going there to die. Waiting rooms in the city took 8-10+ hours just in the waiting room. Without seeing anyone yet. At northwestern the 3 times I've been there just this year was less than an hour wait and they take blood and do vitals before you wait.. I was just there on Christmas eve and It took 1 hour in the waiting area before waiting they had blood drawn/nose swab and I was hooked up to fluids. 1 hour later Dr came in with results for my bloodwork and tests and I was sent home with a miracle flu medication I live by northwestern. Thank you!

Nurses in ER are beyond rude, no one works as a team, treat my father in law like he's not a human being. Truly hate that this is our local Hospital. Northwestern is failing horribly here.

ICU nurses are awesome! So caring and treat family members just as good as they treat the patients. Katie is the best!! 5 stars for ICU. 7th floor nurses are awful!!! Rude and uncaring and clueless half time as far as their patients go. 0 stars for the 7th floor nurses. Hope you never have a family member that ends up on that floor!

Unbelievable, my medical report for a ultra sound was incorrect. It took about 3 months to finally get it corrected. There patient relations department is a joke. There solution to fixing my report was to call my ordering doctor and explain my report with the radiologist who wrote it up wrong. They know piont blank reports are suppose to be correct. I told them ,what if I switch doctor's is the radiologist gonna call that doctor?Bottom line and they know it,Report needs to be correct the radiologist had my measurements wrong from two previous ultrasounds. For some reason the radiologist compared my ultrasound to two other older ultrasounds. All they had to do was pull those reports and right there in black and white correct measurements. It took escalating it to manager over the patient relations department to get it fixed. They would of never had to call my ordering doctor if report was correct.Luck me ,Not ....I have 22 years of being a medical professional and I know how things are suppose to work.

I was just discharged from here today! I had a kidney stone that had hooked onto my kidneys, a kidney infection, and a UTI. Horrible pain in my back, unbearable and in total tears. ER was as responsive as they could be with how many people kept coming in, wait was supposed to be 4 hours, they got me in at maybe an hour and a half. They got me painkillers as soon as they could and the nurses were so attentive. I was in the hospital for four days, and as far as a hospital stay goes, it was really really nice. Nurses would come maybe a minute or less after I pressed the call button, I never felt bad about asking for help when having to get up, or asking for more water. Nurses seemed always somewhat apologetic when they’d wake me up at night. All of my nurses and doctors were so sweet, the doctor that put my stint in was very nice and very up front about the procedure, even asked if they could grab the kidney stone if they could(how could I say no to that?). As far as hospital food goes, it’s hospital food, but I can say, some of the best fruit I’ve ever had. Grapes were so good, mango was perfect, everything was perfect. All together, I had a really good experience here.

Cannot believe adult women who are working for a hospital & should understand how serious COVID is will make fun other patients with how they are “excessively” sanitizing to another patient.

My Dad was visiting me from out East over 4th of July weekend and had an emergency. Turns out he needed open heart surgery and valve replacements. The emergency care was top notch service. Within a couple days they had the medical plan in place. Dr. Sandhu performed an 11 hour successful surgery and Dad is doing great. Northwestern McHenry will be my choice of hospital if needed.

This is the worst hospital EVER ! The security is a female that is completely unprofessional and her partner was a man that reminded me of Harvey Weinstein . He I believe has been let go due to him attacking patients. All I can say is be very cautious if entering this hospital. I would seriously drive extra miles in extreme pain rather than going here. That female security guard I can’t stress enough how HORRIBLE AND DISGUSTING SHE IS ! I accompanied someone so I was not sick or needed help however was there for my friend and witnessed this horrible hospital and that horrible security guard. I can only hope she reads reviews about herself however she appeared very ignorant so not sure she can even read . I know that’s mean but I can’t stress enough how horrible she is and this hospital

I would give less than one star if it was an option. Nurses appear attentive but never follow through. Communication is not a skill that is practiced at this hospital. Why use a monitoring system if you ignore the beeping. The monitor in my husbands room has been going off for at least 30 minutes and apparently no cares. This place was a bad choice, one I will not make again

We had an appointment at the Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital Today in the Heart clinic to have a Holter Monitor installed. Our nurse, Judy was amazing and explained everything to us. The Receptionist Julie was very helpful as well. What a great staff doing an amazing job with Customer Service. We will come back here in the future when we need this type of care! Ann & Rick

I'm so appalled with this hospital. I went in a week ago with bleeding and was pregnant. They did an ultrasound on me and said they had to being it to the radiologist and will let me know what the outcome was. As I told them I've had a miscarriage before I was scared and thought I was going through one once again, well the doctor comes in and tells me I have a heartbeat still of 143 beats but im low on amniotic fluid and need to follow up in a day or two with an obgyn. So I go in the next day to my obgyn and he asked me where the doctor got the information from that i had a heartbeat and I told him that she read it from the radiology report. He then informs me THERE WAS NO HEARTBEAT and that the report CLEARLY stated that. So he gave me the report and it states there wasnt a heartbeat and that the conclusion was FAILED FIRST TRIMESTER PREGNANCY. As that report was signed and printed off at 1:01pm the doctor from the emergency room gave me a paper that was printed at 1:31pm stating there was a heartbeat and to follow up with the obgyn to discuss how the pregnancy was going to progress KNOWING THE REPORT ALREADY SAID FAILED. I want to take action, how devastating it was to hear the news the next day that the doctor lied. You should be ashamed of yourselves. And hope I get justice out of this. What a joke of a hospital. Edit: to top it off i call the number they gave down below and they said they will call by last Friday or this Monday and still have heard nothing, nice to know hospitals like this can just keep doing what theyre doing with no repercussions.

Wait time in emergency room ridiculous. After 4 hours we left, went to Good Shephard and were treated and attended to. Either more staff is needed or something so that patients, particularly those in dire need of care, can get care in a reasonable amount of time. Triage was non-existent.

My care team at Northwestern Hospital McHenry was amazing from start to finish. I came in on an ambulance having very sharp, heart pains and I was pretty scared thinking something was happening to my heart. It turns out that I had an infection and strep pneumonia. I was admitted and stayed for two days. In those two days my care team was so attentive, professional, caring, sympathetic, and encouraging. I received exceptional patient care. Shareen, Katie, and Liz made me feel like a person and not just a number. I cannot express enough how much I appreciated those women in my vulnerable state. Dr. Desai gave a clear explanation of what my next step should be for my at home care and took it upon herself to walk me through a website that can save me money on my prescriptions. Nurse Shareen I cannot thank you enough! I hope these women get recognized for their hard work because they deserve it!

Even though the computer system checked my son in at the Woodstock location the staff were apologetic and we made several jokes about the mishap that cost us over a 1.5 hour wait time. The nurses were amazingly friendly and so kind. Since we have out of state insurance we had to use the ER, though not ideal they made it bearable. Thank you all for taking care of my baby who had a 102 fever and sore throat!

ER Visit: My 20 month old son was sent here straight from immediate care for his rash/hives breakout because of how severe it was. The amount of effort and support the staff gave him and making him feel right at home is why I love this hospital. I could not thank them enough. The nurses and doctor that helped him, you are greatly appreciated for all you do!

My mom was just in for a four day stay due to a stroke. EVERYONE we encountered was absolutely AMAZING! From the ER to the ICU to the 8th floor… she always felt like a priority. There was never a lack of caring or communication. They succeeded in making a traumatic life experience a lot less stressful for her and for her loved ones. Thank you McHenry Hospital! 1.) My aunt was sent back home after the hospital noting she had fluid in her lungs. No admission. Just told her to follow up with GP. Problem #1 2.) My aunt was admitted last week with a series of issues. While the staff was nice, they were clearly understaffed (I get it, everyone is). I feel it's not safe for them to accept as many patients as they did. She was in critical condition and had to roomshare. It was invasive and not acceptable for someone in her condition. 3.) The staff messed up and called a family member of mine who was the old medical POC (this person has Alzheimer's and that is why she was no longer the medical POC). This resulted in stress and confusion for this person. Not to mention, was not what was signed off on or OK-ed 4.) my aunt had a procedure stalled because I had to sign off on her anesthesia and I left the hospital for just a little bit. I was told to come back and sign the paperwork before they could proceed. Once I got there they apologized and told me "sorry, you actually can always give consent over the phone." Well that would have been great to know as I rushed there and you stalled an important procedure. 5.) Back to the lung thing- my aunt ended up passing away at this hospital for a few issues but fluid of the lungs was a main one. I can't help but think of what would have happened if the ER doc a few months ago took her seriously and admitted her then.

Horrible place. My 95 year old mom was here with covid. They released her and she had bruises and all full of feces. Then 2 days later she went back to this horrible place 😢 they lost her paper work. Ambulance driver said he gave to people in emergency room and was mass confusion. They sent my mom to Alden Terrace ,then at 10 at night said she needed to come bacj to hospital as they forgot to give her her x ray in the middle of the night ??? My mom sat in a feces covered gown with horrible bruises for 3 days. My brother said nurses were rough on my very frail mom. I called,no call back.

My dad entered through the emergency room with a sudden heart issue over July 4th period. So keep in mind it's a holiday. Long story short: Within a few days they had him in open heart surgery for quintiple bypass, two valve replacements and an afib procedure. He was a mess. 84 years old and now he's recovering with tremendous attention from the nurses, a daily visit from the surgeon and will be discharged in a couple days. It is amazing what NMHH and Dr. Aqeel Sandhu are lifesavers.

I have only had 3 hospital stays in my life, 2 at Central Dupage and the latest here at Mchenry. Central Dupage was amazing, the staff communicated with each other well, everyone knew what was going on, wonderful. I can't say the same about Mchenry. The staff were super friendly, so that was fine and my surgeon did a fantastic job with my Nephrectomy. This is where the praise ends. There seemed too be a huge lack of communication between the hospital staff. My medications were not in the system, and it took them a few reminders and many hours to get my medication and I believe they caused me to miss one or 2 doses of gabapentin. I had asked about my stitches and they gave me an "I don't know" instead of getting any answers to my question. I am not even sure if my room was properly cleaned because the last patients bed was still in there when they rolled me in. On top of that, you pressed the nurse button and it took like 5min for a nurse to show up, despite me being right next to the nurses station. If I had been at Central Dupage they at least used the microphone in your remote to check in on you. If you have the option for another hospital do it. Nothing seemed to work, and they always seemed to be missing patient information for me. I don't think this hospital has their act together.

So my wife goes into the emergency room with chest pain. Run a bunch of tests that come back fine. Except for the one test they should have done. Since the last time she went in for the same feelings they tried to say everything was fine and she needed 6 stents put in her heart. Who the heck are these doctors and where did they go to school? I have always had doctors that listen to me and these doctors are not listening to what my wife is telling them.

Ever since Northwestern bought out Centegra in McHenry, the majority of the experienced doctors who used to practice at Centegra were pushed out & replaced with inexperienced nurse practitioners. The only doctors remaining are specialists, and even they have been outsourced to private medical firms. As a result, quality of care has been compromised. Communication is extremely poor, and you can’t talk to an actual doctor. The only bright spot are the nurses who are trying to do a good job under these adverse circumstances. (although now I hear that a number of nurses who used to work for Centegra are being pushed out as well.) Until the “powers-that-be” at Northwestern McHenry can get their act together and put quality of patient care ahead of the bottom line, STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOSPITAL!

I had an ER visit with Dr. Jeffry Skinner. Did not feel like he took me seriously at all. I was brought into the ER with sinus tachycardia, 170+bpm. I was in this state for ~45 minutes before I was in the hospital. I felt perfectly calm, just worried about my heart. I had been experiencing chest pains for 3-4 days before coming to the hospital. He looked at my records, saw that I have anxiety, and assumed that this was just a panic attack, ignoring my other symptoms and insistence that I wasn't having a panic attack. That is a familiar feeling, it's easy to tell the difference between anxiety and physiological symptoms. It took a second round of sternly INSISTING that this was not a panic attack before he ran any tests for blood clots. Sent me home that same night even though I still have chest pains and a 110+bpm. Honestly I wish I could give zero stars, one of the worst healthcare experiences I've ever had. UPDATE: I have been diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation, with a catheter ablation scheduled in the coming weeks. Would've been nice if I was taken seriously from the beginning.

The front desk receptionist was certainly not the friendly however the treatment I was provided was efficient and pleasant. I was called to go back within 10 minutes of checking in and I was seen and treated within about 25 minutes. The doctor was very kind and caring and got straight to diagnosing me and getting me on my way to healing. Great experience for an immediate care.

I have been in McHenry Hospital three times since October 10, 2018. Two people to a room my first two visits. It was not pleasant. The food was good. My last visit was due to Covid 19. When they got me out of bed I did better. I caught Covid 19 while in rehab. I really needed help ordering food. Couldn't eat and lost 25 pounds. The nurses and doctors used all precautions.

I got induced and this was the hospital we chose, I have not a single bad thing to say, the material floor was absolutely the best! The drs and nurses and pediatricians were the best!!! So sweet and so kind, room service and cleaners were so kind and very caring as well, we appreciate everything and everyone so much, for taking care of me and my son. Amazing!

The security guards were physical abusive to my child, pushing his head down hard on the bed and after asking to see his ID they smacked his hand with the ID into his forehead, our family has been there several times and never had a good experience.

This place isn't taking Covid very seriously. Front desk lady handed my *highly at risk* mother a mask with her hands all over the inside of the mask. No one was social distancing. Unbelievable. If this is how it is right where you walk in, what the hell is going on behind the scenes?!

Gave birth to both my boys at this hospital. The staff is incredible. They are extremely respectful and took such great care of us and my boys.

Very disconcerting. Walked in for a test to 40-50 employees in the lobby for some sort of TV event. No screening done for me or my friend. No employee moved out of the way or asked if we need help. In the days of covid a hospital should be the safest and most careful place. We do not feel very safe. Update... After making a nurse manager aware of the issue it was quickly "fixed". Mistakes are made, but apologizing and amending the issue shows professionalism. Good job.

Absolutely terrible. First they told me that they accept my insurance, then they say they don’t and I need to pay out of pocket. Then they call me back and say they’re cancelling my appointment and I have to go through the hassle of finding another Dr. When I could have done that 3 weeks ago. Thanks for delaying me on medication. I should have never followed my Doctor over. I’ll 100% be staying at advocate.

Front desks, techs, nurses, doctor work professionally and courteously. Everyone take care and pay attention to welfare of patients and family members. Facility could be improve though. (1) waiting area doesn't have its own washroom. Front desk personnel need to be notified in order to open access door into facility to use restroom. (2) main elevator floor counter is blurry. It could use some cleaning in order for guests to see floor number. (3) patient room has lots of light on ceiling but it could use a small lamp. Scenario: patient tired and half sleep after surgery. Family member want to wait in the room and read a book. Turn on ceiling light would be too bright for patient. If a small lamp available then family member can watch patient and read book at same time.

If you go here, you have a death wish. My fiancé is here by ambulance frequently due to kidney disease and gastro. He's also type 1 diabetic. When he goes hes in so much pain, they give him morphine and hes usually unconscious so I cant get updates from him. The past 2 times he's been there, they "lost" him. First time they tried telling me he was never there and they have no record of him. This time they told me he had been discharged. Both times he was there. As someone who is insulin dependent, I was thinking he was dead somewhere. Thats another thing, every time he comes here, they test his blood sugar and it's usually high. Then they WAIT to give him insulin. I wish I could give ZERO stars. This place is a horrible place to be, especially when you are in need.

I wouldn’t trust this hospital to examine my dog. Find yourself a real hospital.

Great place. Doctors, lab and testing folks, surgical staff from beginning to waking up in ICU were skilled, compassionate, and friendly. ICU 550 pod were a smooth working team and those who cared for me, nurses, tech, housekeeping were the best.

The ER doctor was wonderful and one of the ER nurses was very helpful one out of probably 40. Worst experience I’ve ever had at a hospital in my life. Do everything you can to stay away from the emergency room. If your elderly parent has to go, please make sure if somebody’s with them and they’re not by themselves being treated.

On Thursday 5/11, I took in my 81 year old diabetic mother with excruciating back pain to Northwestern in McHenry. We had to go by ambulance because she couldn’t walk. Waited 3.5 hours. Finally a bed opened in the ED hallway, we took it. They do not look at the overall picture. Gave her steroids and a useless lidocaine patch then dismissed us. Today 5/13 we went to advocate because her blood sugar shot to 400 due to steroids. Advocate took X-rays (something Northwestern hadn’t done) and admitted her to Good Shepherd. I wouldn’t recommend Northwestern Hospital to anyone. Absolutely inexcusable is how I’d define their negligent care. Must be horrid management. I’d give them a 0 stars if it were an option.

I had gone in for issues I was having and I wish I knew the names of the three security guards that were watching me, yesterday around 5 pm in the emergency room. They were so nice and and very encouraging about my recovery accomplishments. Also the first nurse that helped me, I don’t remember her name either. But they were so caring and I normally have such bad experiences at this hospital. However I haven’t been there in years. They we just amazing and understanding and supportive and very encouraging. If there is a way someone could find out who they were, I strongly recommend giving them a pat on the back for being so good and passionate about what they do. Thank you.

The ER at this hospital is an absolute joke. 6 hours in, and still haven’t seen the doctor. This visit is in regards to breathing issues with my 2 week old son, and clearly they are not concerned. Don’t waste your time. For the sake of your health, take the trip to Huntley where they actually know what they are doing.

Currently at medical records and am waiting for a copy of my echocardiogram. Been 95 minutes so far. The test took under 45 minutes when done 2 months ago This is preposterous considering they made me come here and wait rather than sending it to a Dr. In their own network. This is a shoddy organization.

I called the emergency room with a question and the woman who answered the phone was really rude not only that but she hung up on me I called again to ask her name to file a complaint and she refused to give it and hung up on me again. That was enough for me not to consider that place for treatment. It was 7:40pm on 1/27/20 when this occurred.

Doctors are concerned. Nurses and cns are fantastic not depressing what so ever. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of teamwork at Northwerstern Hospital. Need special people like this to help heal and get you well.

Place is a joke. I think they take bets on how little they can do. Nurse tells me that the color of nasal discharge means nothing. That my kid doesn't need medicine for a cough that lasts over 2 weeks. So now my kids are playing tag with a cold that could have been avoided with some amoxocillin. Place is literally a joke. No wonder they open at 8 am. Do not go here. Just trust me.

I was nervous about this small hospital when my daughter was ambulanced there as the nearest location because l knew nothing about it. She received excellent care and her surgeon Dr. Kim was talented, professional and kind. Reception was friendly and gift shop lady very helpful. A very good experience in difficult circumstances.

I was up there alone with my Son. Fairly good staff but while safty Cameras are in the open in many of the common areas the elevators seem to be dead zones. This indangers both MEN AND WOMEN alike as not only false allagations but actual allagations of wrong doing have no servalence OR VIDEO PROTECTION. Thats not good and forces Lone men to proactively protect them selfs from false allagations. And not share cars with women.. this would be fine if the women had consideration for others.

Good hospital, it's showing it's age. Could use a face lift but that doesn't affect the great work they try and do.

McHenry Hospital has a lot of potential to be a great medical center. Unfortunately, they are under-resourced, understaffed and overcrowded. Their choice of hospitalists is hit or miss. I spent 7 days at this Hospital. It was not easy. My room was switched multiple times. Most of the nurses were good, a few were great but the majority of aides impatient and unfriendly in the MSO unit.

Terrible— just awful. First, I understand that it’s a hospital and it’s busy, but we were there from 10:30pm- 3:30am, waiting for the doctor to come and results of multiple tests to come back. But of course, the billing lady came in to get her consent forms signed. You bet your butt I’m gonna double check the charges in that bill too. Second, after the doctor left, I could hear her conversing with her other colleagues CLEARLY, and they were laughing at the situation at hand. If that doctor had a dignity, she would not be sharing that information with anyone else, or even laughing about with others. That’s disgusting and pathetic. I would travel to the next town over or a better hospital. Only thing positive I’d have to say is the nurse— very attentive. But the doctor, pathetic.
