I
too
would
give
this
hospital
0
stars
if
possible.
I
was
suffering
from
chest
pains
and
difficulty
breathing
in
the
early
morning
hours
of
Monday,
March
28,
2022.
My
husband
insisted
on
taking
me
to
the
ER
and
drove
to
this
hospital
since
it
was
the
closest
to
our
home.
I
did
get
taken
into
the
ER
pretty
quickly,
but
from
there
most
everything
went
downhill.
The
ER
nurses
tried
to
address
my
issues.
One
nurse,
Macy
did
a
great
job
of
attending
to
my
stats
and
personal
needs.
The
equipment
was
old
and
out-dated.
The
bed
felt
like
I
was
laying
on
bricks
and
it
was
not
easily
adjustable.
Every
time
it
was
adjusted
for
individual
tests/bloodwork,
the
bed
would
jerk
you
forward
and
then
backward,
understandably
making
my
breathing
issues
worse.
It
took
an
incredibly
long
time
for
a
doctor
to
actually
see
me.
During
time
in
the
ER,
there
was
a
patient
cursing
loudly
at
the
staff,
one
patient
demanding
loudly
to
be
fed,
and
a
number
of
Chicago
Police
officers
in
&
out.
This
alone
should
have
signified
the
need
to
immediately
evacuate
to
another
hospital.
Unfortunately,
I
was
diagnosed
with
pneumonia
and
told
I
would
be
admitted.
It
took
another
2
hours
to
be
transferred
upstairs
to
a
bed
even
though
when
being
wheeled
up
to
the
room,
there
were
lots
of
beds
open
on
the
unit.
Throughout
all
of
the
tests,
there
was
never
a
definitive
diagnosis
of
which
type
of
pneumonia
I
had
(viral,
bacterial,
or
fungal).
It
is
still
unknown
even
after
being
released.
During
my
stay,
here
are
the
burning
issues
of
why
I
am
advising
anyone
who
reads
this
to
go
to
another
hospital:
-Two
nurses
yelled
at
me
when
I
requested
the
prescribed
pain
medication,
often
deterring
me
from
actually
receiving
it
(I
forgot.
I
need
to
call
the
doctor.
I'm
not
sure
anything
is
prescribed.
etc.)
-They
were
informed
I
had
a
latex
allergy,
yet
placed
me
on
oxygen
via
a
latex
line.
I
broke
out
in
hives
and
experienced
lots
of
itching
on
my
face.
I'm
glad
my
latex
allergy
isn't
one
that
could
actually
kill
me!
-They
were
informed
of
my
daily
medications.
I
was
told
I
would
be
provided
those
at
the
hospital.
After
day
2,
my
husband
had
to
bring
my
meds
from
home
(not
allowed,
but
my
non-related
medical
condition
would
have
worsened
without
them).
-I
was
in
the
hospital
for
3
days.
My
room
was
not
cleaned
one
time!
Garbage
piled
up,
floors
were
dirty,
and
my
bedding
was
never
changed.
-Food
service
was
absolutely
a
mess.
Food
trays
would
appear
but
never
taken
away.
At
one
time,
I
had
three
food
trays
in
the
room
that
my
husband
had
to
take
away.
Also,
I
completed
a
menu
of
requested
items
from
the
heart-healthy
sections.
That
menu
had
to
be
thrown
away
immediately
by
staff
because
I
did
not
receive
one
item
that
was
requested.
I
often
would
receive
food
items
covered
in
gravy,
potatoes,
or
pasta.
How
is
that
heart-healthy?
I
could
not
even
get
a
box
of
cold
cereal
with
milk
until
the
last
day
of
my
stay.
My
nurse,
Jasmine
was
a
saving
grace!
She
called
down
to
the
kitchen
to
get
me
a
simple
box
of
Frosted
Flakes.
I
swear
that
was
the
best
meal
I
ate
during
my
whole
stay.
-I
requested
personal
items
to
bathe
and
brush
my
teeth.
None
of
those
items
were
furnished.
My
husband
had
to
bring
those
from
home,
even
a
towel
and
washcloth.
I
finally
received
a
clean
gown
after
my
husband
became
a
bit
angry,
demanding
said
gown.
-Broken
equipment
was
the
norm,
not
the
exception.
The
computer
terminal
(important
for
scanning
drugs,
ID
information,
etc.),
television,
and
clock
in
my
assigned
room
were
not
working.
When
asked
about
this,
the
nurse
stated
the
hospital
was
old
and
nothing
works
right.
GREAT!
I
do
want
to
highlight
the
ER
nurse
Macy
and
the
fourth
floor
RN,
Jasmine.
Also,
the
2
infectious
disease
doctors
I
saw
were
very
informative.
They
all
did
their
absolute
best
in
a
really
difficult
work
environment.
They
deserve
5/5
stars.
