This is such a gorgeous area for photos! If you enjoy the view of nature or Chicago architecture, this spot is a great combination of the two. I highly recommend stopping by for a few moments and appreciating the view.

The Gas Pavilion is situated next to the South Pond in Lincoln Park. It is the work of Studio Gang (2010) and is made from prefabricated timber ribs and fiberglass domes, forming a peculiar, almost honeycomb like structure. Seems this is a popular location for selfies and staged photo shoots.

An amazing pavilion right next to Lincoln Park Zoo. No cost to see it. It it made of bent timber and a plastic like roof. The whole structure itself is like a honeycomb. Great place for photos or events. It’s a 5 minute walk from the Zoo. Also it’s covered in case you get caught in a rainstorm. Stop by and see it!!!

Funky retro-modern structure with molded plywood honeycomb framework and translucent windows overlooking downtown Chicago. Great spot for morning yoga, wedding and kids pictures, or just to hang out in. I'm not entirely certain what "education" it provides, but it's a neat place to visit when striking around the park and zoo.

It's a nice pavilion with a cool design and a nice view of the city and pond, though it can get crowded. The aforementioned qualities make it a very popular picture spot; during my last visit there were probably between 5-10 different wedding parties visiting, not to mention all the photographers. By the time I left, there was one group of photographers and 3 different wedding parties all jockeying for prime spots. This is no one's fault, but just be prepared and aware that you may not be able to enjoy this nice spot in peace.

Great place for a photos. Nice view of the skyline. We came here after walking through the zoo around Thanksgiving when they had the Christmas lights. Great views of the skyline from the pavilion and the pavilion provided a nice frame for the photos.

Gorgeous spot for a photoshoot! On the weekends it gets a tad busy, so just come prepared for that and you're set. Such a beautiful view of the city here.

It's beautiful at night and people are always going there with professional photographers to take family and wedding pictures. You can also rent it for a wedding reception.

Studio / Gang designed a small gem in the heart of Lincoln Park. This spot is delightful and the geometric pavilion is a cute little getaway in the city. Perfect for a photo opportunity, a break from a bike ride, or a destination on its own. Unfortunately it is falling apart. Whether its the material choices or lack of proper upkeep the wood is beginning to deteriorate. At the base the veneer is peeling away exposing the wood to the elements and accelerating the rot. The structure is filthy as it seems like it hasn't been cleaned off in a decade. The wood here used to shine and was a vibrant contrast against the sky. Now it's all faded to a dull gray. This place has literally become a symbol of the community. Hopefully somebody finds a way to take better care of it soon.
