When you are traveling, and have a really tight schedule, you don’t always have time to look for a new, exciting places to eat. Even if you have the time to look up a few places, you might not have the time to actually go to one. In this case, what you wish for is a great restaurant inside the hotel you are staying at. This is exactly what happened with me when I traveled to Chicago. I stayed at Sheraton Grand, and thankfully, they had a real restaurant in it. The inside was a nice size, much bigger than I expected. The restaurant is on the ground floor, and right by the hotel entrance, therefore, they have a street view. The interior is classic, with wood floor, dark furniture, and tables covered with white tablecloths. Lots of photos in sepia, creating kind of historic atmosphere. We were taken to our table with a football! Their signature steak menu was on the football, how cool is that? They do have more steak offerings on the actual menu, on paper. Since I was not super hungry (regrettably), I didn’t order their steak. Instead, I ordered Pan-Seared Sea Scallops. The scallops were really nice and plump, soft and tasty. The roasted corn was sweet and flavorful, asparagus was crunchy and fresh, and bacon added that extra punch of deliciousness. Didn’t get much truffle flavor, but it was still a good dish, I enjoyed it. My companion ordered one of their steaks and seems like he really liked the steak, as he devoured it all. The staff was really nice, friendly and polite. He made sure we were well taken care of. We didn’t have to ask for anything. It was a very pleasant, relaxing dinner, I wish if I was more hungry so I could have tried their steak…maybe next time. Read my full review of the restaurant and food on my food blog, foodlovergirl.

Great dinner with exceptional service from Matt and James. Really exquisite filet. It’s been so long since I’ve been in a steakhouse that I splurged a bit. Loved my dinner.

What a fantastic steak meat. Professional, competent service staff. Friendly. I have visited and tested many steak restaurants in Chicago. This is one of the TOP 3. Gigantic. It's really worth it.

I like that they take reservations. They have Coke products. The pop is served in a can with a glass of ice. The can is not cold. I got the 16oz New York strip. I asked for it well done. It came out pink. The manager came up to me and apologized and made it right on our bill. For their sides we had macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes and the loaded baked potato. All the sides were amazing especially the Mac and cheese. The location is great, It's in the Sheraton hotel. In Chicago there are so many amazing steakhouses, Shula's in my opinion was okay it wasn't bad by any means just not in my top 10. I really appreciated the manager coming to me making sure I was okay about my meal. I feel like they do give great customer service. We did wait almost an hour for our food. It was a Friday night when we went. They brought out fresh bread and apologized.

Overall poor experience. Waitress made a lot of assumptions. I asked for a dessert menu, ordered dessert, Waitress never asked my friend if he wanted dessert. She brought out my dessert along with 2 forks. She also never asked us if the bill should be 2 bills or 1. Very disappointing experience and will NOT be coming back again.

The positives: The service overall was quite good. A little slow, but very friendly. All of the sides were fantastic! The negatives: All of our steaks were substantially over done. I don't usually complain about food but this was brutal. The atmosphere did not match the price. Nothing about that restaurant felt special like it was worth the price we were paying.

Overpriced and mediocre. The porterhouse special was very fatty and low quality. Portions were very small, restaurant in general is not worth it. Also, some of the truffle fries were undercooked; the potatoes were still hard. Mac and cheese was very mediocre, comparable to some cheap chain restaurants. Crab cake was small and overdone. The French onion soup was good and the calamari was decent.

My wife and i shared the 22oz ribeye which looked more like 16oz and the mushrooms tasted like they came out of a can. The steak was done perfectly with a nice sear. We also added a lobster tail for$45 but was probably only 3-4oz. The Creme Brulé was a pretty good size and was real tasty

I won a gift certificate for the best hat Contest on Kentucky Derby day at the bar in the Sheraton. So I wanted to use the gift for a special occasion. We decided to celebrated my Mother’s 79th Birthday on a Sunday evening in June. The Restaurant was empty and perfect we could hear each other speak, It quickly got packed with guest. To our surprise the food was excellent. The 22 oz Cowboy Ribeye Steak was seasoned well, and cooked to perfection. The Crabcakes were flavorful, French onion, soup yummy, Steak & frites hot, scrumptious and the shrimp were just delightful. All the food was really good, hot, well seasoned, we enjoyed it very much. The ambience was also great, the staff were friendly, kind and attention to detail. Mose the Manager remembered me and welcomed me back with a smile. Other then my Mother who’s birthday it was. The other stat of the evening was Milen our waiter, he was patient, He was knowledgeable & explained the difference between the cuts of steaks, the cuts of meat, He even recommended how we cook the steaks for better flavor. He’s funny, charismatic, fun & kept us laughing. We look forward to coming again and this next time I would like to stay in the Sheraton hotel. Be sure to walk off your Dinner with a nice walk on the Riverwalk directly behind the hotel. All the sports stars are on the wall. You will enjoy it we did. Thanks Shula

we missed our reservation and they still were able to seat us quickly! The steak was phenomenal. The only recommendation is the size of the sides. It was not explained to us that each side would typically fee 2or3 people. So we over ordered on the sides which create some waste and extra cost.

We had a good experience. It wasn’t the best steak we had on our trip to Chicago but it was good and the server was awesome. I had a New York strip which was good and my wife loved the filet mignon.

Went here for our anniversary dinner. My 22oz cowboy ribeye cooked medium was juicy and tender but salty. My wife got the 10oz filet cooked medium and it was dry. Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff. But for the cost probably won't be back.

Stayed at the Sheraton for work and decided to try Shula’s for a nice dinner with my husband, and was very disappointed. I did like that they take reservations- although it is January and a reservation probably was not necessary, it was not very busy. We were seated promptly, however it felt like it took too long for the server to come to our table to get our drink order. I guess it is their job to unfold the napkin and put it on your lap, however when you move the menus off the tops of the napkins someone forcefully- it is not a good first impression of the service. The attitude of the server was very off putting which made the whole dinner unenjoyable. Our drinks were not even refreshed once while we were there. We ordered the lamb, and a filet. Both were good- but expected a little more lamb for the price. We ordered macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes as sides, the macaroni and cheese was good however the mashed potatoes were just ok. Neither of them came out hot- just barely able to be considered warm. Did not try desert since we were ready to leave. There are better places in Chicago if you’re going to be spending your money for a nice dinner.

Overall the food was really good. I ordered the wagyu steak which was cooked well and came with demi glaze and a sauce. I ordered the loaded potato on the side which was good as well. The menu was smaller than I expected and a bit overpriced but I'd come back. I enjoyed that it was attached to the hotel.

Experience was awful our food took forever to cone out and when it did it was extremely overcooked. Service wasn’t great either. I dont recommend Shula’s there are many other better steakhouses nearby.

Dinner after a trade show, wanted something light and there were plenty of choices. This wedge salad was really, really good!

Wow! We were not expecting the “new restaurant”. We came here same time last year and it was a good quality steakhouse while we were traveling as it was close to the resort we were staying at. This year it’s on the top floor of the casino and absolutely beautiful. Service was great (Alejandro is the best!) and the food was top notch. Thank you!

I have been here in Chicago for a 4 day conference. A fantastic dining experience was had at the end of each day, where the food and atmosphere have been absolutely superb. Angel, J.C.and Bella are not only very personable, but exceptionally professional in their presentation of one's meal. This is why I returned at the end of each day. This dining experience should not be missed and I highly recommend this restaurant located within the Riverwalk Sheraton. You will not find better steaks or service elsewhere. Thank you!

One of the best dinning experiences in Chicago. Great menu, the food and service was outstanding. The oysters as an appetizer were very meaty and delicious. The 22oz Ribeye bone-in with mashes potatoes was incredible. Cooked to perfection. A must stop if your in the neighborhood.

Shula's was a nice place with good food. I was worried at first that all of the seats were small and had arms attached, but the staff adjusted the seating once they saw everyone who was there. That is greatly appreciated. Our waitress was attentive and she had very good recommendations. This restaurant is inside of the Sheraton Grand hotel but is no "hotel restaurant" Very good for a business dinner.

Between waitress and chef they made my daughter amazing mashed potatoes that are not on the menu. The service and food was outstanding.

I was curious to try Shula’s Steakhouse as I had always heard good things. It’s safe to say that much like the legendary coach’s final few years coaching, this place is coasting on name alone. First off this place unlike most steakhouses does not offer any bread. Then I was never asked if I wanted another beer. I also have never heard of a steakhouse that has three cuts of steak and 4 steak options. No steak topping offerings. No bernaise, hollandaise, or mushroom toppings. They had one sauce that tasted like it was made from boiled sweatsocks. Now on to the main event. I ordered the ten oz filet medium rare. The steak was not juicy and was rather dry. There was no flavor or seasoning on the steak at all. The prices are ridiculous. I highly recommend going to a different steakhouse. The prices here would be too high if the steak was $30 let alone $75.

This was my first time in Chicago and my first time at Shula's! It was great food with a great atmosphere. I would definitely recommend the Chicken! It was 👌

I didn’t take pics of anything but the desert but the food and service was excellent. I’m usually pretty skeptical of hotel restaurants and I was so pleased with everything I had here. Upon arrival on a Sunday evening the restaurant was quiet. We were the only guest but within the hour other guests trickled in. Signature drinks used quality tequila and vodka. Skirt steak and fries were cooked well, steakhouse burger was excellent, crab cakes were delightful. Don’t sleep on Shulas.
