This would be a five star if the service was better. The location is clean and the food was very good. We ordered a deep dish Chicago style pizza 🍕 which was so good. We only got a small which would have been just right for two people. Then we ordered medium Rudy thin crust pizza since it had a high rating. It was even better than the pie. Would go back again and just hope for a better waitress. It was somewhat loud in there and we could barely hear her. She was not friendly and didn’t really make us feel welcome. Hopefully this is just a one time situation.

The food here is basic. The dinner salad was a iceberg lettuce and a few sad looking vegetables, and the salad dressing tasted just as fun (bargain store stuff). I had hopes for the deep dish but the first bite tasted like the fermentation of the yeast from the dough. The sauce was not exceptional either. The pasta was okayyyy. For the price I was expecting more. BUT The vibe is good. The employees are nice. Kelsi served us and was very friendly and attentive. The Latinx guys who helped serve and clean up were also very attentive. The bathroom is clean, down a flight of stairs. It’s the kind of place you take the family for on a Friday night, or your soccer team after a match. If they changed up the menu or if the food got better I’d come again. For good deep dish go to the Art of Pizza off Polk st.

Went into Pizano’s in the loop tonight 7/27/2022, after the movie in millennium park. I was with one other person and just wanted to grab a quick bite to eat and head home since it was 9pm. Walked in the hostess was on the telephone she didn’t even acknowledge me and she looked very dissatisfied. Told her we were just going to bar and she kind of motioned like whatever to us so we went and sat there. The bartender was a younger blonde woman who was in a mood as soon as we sat down she said last call was in two minutes even though they close at 10. I reassured I knew what I wanted and would be quick. Some other patrons came in after us and were sat at a table in the bar area by the manager, the bartender started yelling last call over and over again. It was super uncomfortable and aggressive. A positive the pizza came super quick even though she said it would be 30 min. Which was fine by me, the only negative it was kind of burnt. I ended up taking it to go because the whole vibe was super awkward with the bartender and the manager and no one even gave me utensils to eat with. The only reason I would visit Pizano’s again is because I live by the state street location and it’s always great and the service is on point.

We came here after visiting the Christkindlmarket after a chilly evening in the market a warm Chicago style pizza was very needed. This location is busier than you’d think. We waited about 40 mins to be seated which we expected not having any reservations. It’s very small but it feels very cozy, warm and like you’re at your grandparents. It was nice! I loved the Christmas decor they set up! The food was great although I will say it did take very long. I’m willing to understand it was due to it being so busy. Overall it was a great bite. Prices are fair for a downtown Chicago pizza restaurant.

Very nice staff. Portions are huge! We started with appetizers: cheesy garlic bread, tortellini soup pizano's way and had plenty of drinks to cool off during the early evening. After all the bread, we split a spaghetti with our party and had to stop as we couldn't eat anymore. Wow! Everything was so yummy 😋

A classic Italian restaurant with a decor that reminds me of the Godfather movies. The food is freshly prepared, great flavor and the Portion size is large and you'll feel satisfied. I had the spaghetti with Alfredo sauce and Italian sausage and it was tasty. The server was super friendly and he memorized my name and order which reminded me of Europe. Restaurant located less than a block away from Milenium Plaza which is very convenient if you're visiting the city

Excellent food! The deep-dish was delicious but the pasta was absolutely the bomb. Lots of seating around the bar as this place gets packed in the evenings. Usually 20+ minutes has been my experience but the bar had open seats. Just have to walk around to see behind the massive centerpiece in the bar. Absolutely worth waiting.

We went on a late weeknight and we were glad we found the place. We knew the deep dish would take a while so we ordered some calamari while we waited. It was good, not the best we’ve ever had, but we liked the dipping sauce. The pizza was excellent! We ordered the Rudy special and it was cooked perfectly. The veggies still had some crisp…which we liked. The sauce, cheese, and crust were great! This place overall has an old school vibe and we would recommend trying it out.

This pizza spot was recommend to me. Upon entering, I went to the hostess stand and the hostess said it would be about a 5 minute wait and to wait outside. Directly next to the hostess area was a bench my friend was sitting on. I walked 2 feet over and the hostess l, I guess, thought I was going to sit down and she literally yelled at me “I said you have to wait outside ma’am!!!” I’m like girl, I’m telling my friend that we have to go outside and wait! Seriously this was incredibly rude and really couldn’t believe it. Things were better once we were seated. The restaurant is so incredibly beautiful and exactly how I would want a pizza place to look. The decor and charm was all there. Our waitress (Jessica) I think 😅 was so sweet. We really appreciated her. Wings were without a doubt 10/10. Super crispy just the way I like them! Now for the deep dish pizza, I have to say was very underwhelming. I’ve had better deep dish pizza at my local pizza place in Raleigh, NC and that’s saying a lot 😀 The pizza didn’t taste finished, very doughy and not enough sauce. Actually kind of bummed we ended up having to pay for this. I felt obligated to eat it even when none or the table really enjoyed it. The thin crust pizza was delicious! Perfect amount of pineapple and pepperoni. Garlic bread was very good as well! I would probably come back and give it another try. Prices seemed higher then average. I saw many people ordering the pasta so that will probably be what I order next time. EDIT: changed my review to two stars due to the owner’s response to my review. He/she did not acknowledge the borderline harassment from the hostess that occurred in the restaurant. Will not be going back.

Pizano’s is Chicago’s greatest treasure. The history, atmosphere, service, and most of all, the food, is all out of this world incredible. We visited Pizano’s on Madison in downtown, it is conveniently located in the heart of the city, the only pain was trying to find parking and settling for a garage, the exorbitant amount the city charges for parking is really crazy. Back to the experience, we were greeted by Gil as we entered Pizano’s, his friendly joyful energy was awesome and the atmosphere in the restaurant was inviting. The service was fast, professionally timed, and spot on with recommendations. The food was WOW! Their pies are on a whole other level!!! The Tortellini was damn incredible!!! I wish there would have been room for dessert, but not this time unfortunately. Pizano’s Pizza & Pasta is a must stop in if you find yourself in Chicago, there are several locations around the city. Pizano’s is aChicago “Must Experience”!!!

Your classic Chicago pizzeria - two styles: deep dish and tavern (called “thin”, which is relative only). Both crusts are similar - heavy on the cornmeal, but gives you that strong crunch and holds the kitchen sink with ease. Good quality cheese and solid sauce. Won’t blow your socks off, but you know exactly what you’re getting every time.

I had the small sausage and pepperoni deep dish pizza. It was very good. Fresh and cheesy. He had the tortellini soup. He said it was also very good. They have Pepsi products. Their menu is pretty big. So if you don't want pizza there's plenty to choose from. They also sold frozen pizza. Their bathrooms are downstairs. They may have a bathroom upstairs, I didn't see one tho. We sat outside, they have nice table and chairs. I would definitely be back.

Headed here recently with family from out of town. We’ve all had Chicago style deep dish before. This was a pretty large disappointment. Pizza was meh. Definitely not what I’m used to. The breadsticks were nothing more than toasted bread with sauce that was tasteless. Service was decent for how crowded the place was. It was OK at best.

Place was very crowded and we saw that as a good sign. We went to another pizzeria but it was closed so I found this spot real quick so we can try a deep dish pizza in Chicago. We didn't know reservations were needed but they said we could sit at the bar which worked out just fine. Cheesy garlic bread was 10/10 crispy, garlic, cheese and soft buttery bread. Pizza came out great thought it would be "deeper" but since we ordered a larger size my accident it worked out in our favor. Taste was there, saucy, meaty and fresh out the oven. If ever we come back to Chicago we have this place listed as a no fail go to.

Stopped by for a Saturday lunch and was delighted. It was very busy but we got a table right away. The service staff were very polite and helpful. The fried ravioli were delicious. We also got a deep dish Jewelers special, though it was so good we ate it before remembering to take photos. Really good pizza. The seating was a bit cramped with so many tables, but it was overall an enjoyable experience.

We made reservations so our group of 4 got right in when we arrived. Our service was great. We were told it would take 45 minutes for deep dish and we appreciated the heads up. We tried the bruschetta for an app and it was absolutely fabulous. I’m pretty sure it arrived 2 minutes after we ordered it, which was amazing! It took about 40 minutes to get our food. All of it tasted great. We’d recommend this place!

Visiting from Calgary and ordered a cheese + pepperoni deep dish pizza for takeout (power walking from my hotel for the pick up, I might add). Unbelievably good and so much cheese! The restaurant was busy when I arrived, but it looked really cool inside and retro.

Great service and delicious pizza. The calamari was awesome. We celebrated a friend’s birthday and we got a special baked cookie. Yum! It was all very good.

Super friendly staff. They paid attention to us even though it was very busy. The wings are crispy and the Hot level was just right. They offer Mild, Medium, Hot and a fourth level that was humorous but I forgot exactly what it was. The bleu cheese dressing was House Made and so delicious. We had the Meat Lovers deep dish large. It easily filled 5 adults, but some of us had wings and House Salad. The salads were good and fresh, nothing out of the ordinary. The pizza crusts were so crisp and delicious they are a treat unto themselves. The meats and sauce were on point! Also noted that our young ones thoroughly enjoyed their small cheese deep dish and Mozzarella Sticks. I can just say this place Deeply satisfying!!

The was me and my family’s first time at Pizano’s. I am not exaggerating when I say that this was the most amazing dining experience I have ever had in my entire life. Our server was “The Chach”. I feel like I am now a member of an elite club because if you’ve never dined here and had the pleasure to be waited on by the man, the myth, the legend.... then you just won’t get it. If it were possible, I’d give Pizano’s an extra star, just for Uncle Chach. In short, you have never truly experienced Chicago, or hell... food until you’ve dined here. What an amazing experience!

Yummy pasta and more! We came expecting to order individual deep dish pizzas, but were enticed to try the pastas instead. Salad "for the table" is a good buy with a deep dish of fresh salad ingredients. We tried and loved the Four Cheese Tortellini (new house specialty) with fresh spinach; skipped the bacon since we're vegetarian. The Risotto with fresh mushrooms was perfectly moist and creamy. Pastas and salad both come with bread, too. Terrific service from Alejandra! A new favorite for us

The deep dish pizza was by far the best of the food we tried, everything else was good but nothing extraordinary. The service was incredibly nice, attentive and tried to serve everything as fast as possible. It’s a good place to have lunch or dinner.

I always feel a little bad writing a review that's mid, but I really want this place to be so, so good and not just relying on its location. Let's start with the good: the staff are friendly, we were seated earlier than anticipated, and the atmosphere is delightfully old-school. But what could use some work is the product itself - the deep dish we ordered was raw in spots, and didn't have much flavor in the remainder. Pizano's is practically synonymous with deep dish, and I just want it to live up to the name, you know?

Great place near Millennium Park! The service was incredible. One waitress was handling several busy tables in the basement and she was on top of everything! Pizza is great. I’m so sad they closed their Glenview store.

Went with my sister when she was visiting in hopes of knocking out most Chicago foods in one fell swoop! We got the toasted ravioli, an individual deep dish cheese pizza, and an Italian beef. Loved the ravs and pizza, but the Italian beef felt pretty meh.

Great place to have lunch, deep dish pizza was amazing. Service was great and the overall atmosphere of this restaurant was awesome. Seems like there’s a tonne of seating in the back also.

This place was really a home run. Had a short wait to get a table, but the staff was friendly and efficient in getting people seated. Service staff was great and really helpful when we were trying to decide on what to get. The pizza was fantastic. We got both a deep dish and a thin crust. The crust on both pizzas were nice and crispy on the outside while still being nicely chewy on the inside. Toppings and sauce were really tasty as well. Overall, a great Chicago pizza experience.

Went here on a whim. Was awful. Service was slow and servers didn’t seem interested at all. Was served an extremely chipped water glass. Food is not worth the money. Pasta with Alfredo sauce was bland as hell and the pizza, Jesus I’ve had better frozen ones. Barely ate the pasta and the pizza. The chips were obviously cooked from frozen and weren’t cooked fully through. All in all wouldnt come back and wouldn’t advise that anyone else come here. Shame it was our last day here and our last chance to try authentic Chicago deep dish. Extremely disappointed

Server and service time was amazing, waited 10 minutes total between ordering our pasta and getting it fresh in front of us. Food was delicious, but the Alfredo sauce was slightly bland. Nothing the seasonings on the table couldn’t fix! Highly recommend the cheesy garlic bread as an appetizer as well. Will be heading here again!

Both the deep dish and the thin crust is top notch. Pasta is good, HUGE portion. Service is super friendly welcoming. Great Chicago pizza joint.

A Chicago staple! Excellent pizza and great atmosphere. Love that they have individual deep dish pizza so everyone can get what they want.

Went after a trade show. Ordered the calamari appetizer. It started out okay but it was obviously over cooked as it started to get really chewy after the first couple. The main course was good. It was freshly prepared as the sauce was piping hot when it arrived. The chicken cacciatore was done to perfection as the chicken was tender and juicy. All in all not bad.

Great pizza. But go and sit in The Chach's section. He's awesome. 68 yrs old, been there 30 yrs, and he's still going strong. He's a blast.

  • 5/5 Adam B. 2 years ago on Google
Great food, especially loved the thin crust pizza. If you are a deep dish lover, it takes about 40 minutes to cook. But I am sure it is just as good. The service was top notch and very attentive.

I visiting here on a Saturday evening. I had higher hopes for this place, of course it being a Saturday night most tables were taken and I sat at the bar. Ordered a personal deep dish pizza and a drink. The bartender was nice and as attentive as could be with almost a full bar, saw she was smiling and saying hello to some of the regulars . The downside of this visit was the food, surprisingly as I was hoping for more and with the wait I was expecting more. The personal deep dish pizza is almost laughable, I saw it and couldn’t believe how SMALL THE PIZZA WAS. I’ve seen bigger individual frozen pizzas, and they only tossed in a few slices of pepperoni. I asked for spinach and THERE WAS NO SPINACH in my pizza. I wouldn’t likely not return and not visit again. 👎🏽👎🏽

  • 3/5 Iris D. 2 years ago on Google
Definitely pricey and the value for your pizza is not there! Service was good, our server was attentive and checked up on us frequently. Our small deep dish pizza lack of flavor, crust and sauce was just there. Plenty of cheese and great sausage. Personal pie is about 5/6’
