Went to celebrate an engagement and it was amazing. The staff was so nice and made our group feel very special. I got the spicy rigatoni which was AMAZING!!! It wasn't exactly spicy just so flavorful, and the fresh ricotta on top was literally heaven in my mouth. Spaghetti and meatballs were amazing too and so was the steak. The drinks were also very good. Our waiter was so nice. The view is absolutely STUNNING. If you're celebrating something this is THE place to go. We got complimentary wine and dessert for our friends engagement. The dessert was outstanding. For a place that fancy our bills weren't even that high. I will come back every time I go to Chicago

This place exceeded my high expectations. Wow. What a view. What an experience. The service was incredible. This restaurant is an upscale steakhouse combined with Italian classics. We ordered cocktails, brussel sprouts, pasta, and shared a steak. Everything was on point. I have nothing to say except that this was one of the high points in my Chicago trip. But again, the view, what a view! This is the spot worth splurging on a date! I would give this spot 6 stars if I could. Extra highly recommended for a great overall experience. You will not be disappointed!

Extremely pleasant wait staff. Polite, accommodating, and knowledgeable. The interior atmosphere is high end and welcoming. It is a high-end food experience. Now the food itself is good but nothing spectacular. I had a classic spaghetti and meatballs. The sauce itself was something that I would make at home from scratch. Very good, but identical. The meatballs, however, had an overwhelming citrusy flavor, like lemon, which was off putting. I did mention this to the waiter who offered to take it off the bill or offer me a new one, but I had already finished it. The prawns were $20 for 4. They were average but the sauce was good. The desert was complimentary, which was so nice, but I found it to be a bit too dense. And I love dark chocolate but it seemed too strong. It’s a good place to go for the atmosphere, but the food is not spectacular. Maybe the steak is better, but based on these dishes I wouldn’t bet on it.

Fantastic views of the city, especially at night! Food was great. I recommend the vodka rigatoni, sea bass, chocolate dessert, Brussels sprout and the crab bisque. Excellent mashed potatoes! Salads were ok and the seafood tower was good but expensive for the amount of seafood plus no substitutions on the seafood tower were permitted. Friendly service, very attentive! One downfall…. No kids menu for children.

It is amazing, unlike other location this one has a spectacular view that we sure enjoyed while having dinner! You do have an option to eat in the terrace, I will have to go back and try it! The menu different than from other Gibsons franchises, changes ever so often I didn't like the starter it consisted of bread sticks! For a restaurant at this level I'd think they would want to serve warm bread! Our server Robert, one knowledgeable wine connoisseur, did recommend a delicious blend, that we found exquisite!! It is also unfortunate they do not allow a taste of it, but we were incredibly lucky to have truly enjoy it! The food was delicious though, I did find my steak to be a bit over cooked, I was also disappointed Robert did not check to see if I was happy with the temperature, maybe next time! The other assistants in the dining room were friendly, we sure enjoyed a bit of humor, to lighten up the mood, especially when one of them accidentally spilled part of the bottle of wine, oops!! Robert offered us free dessert for the inconvenience, one delicious hazelnut with chocolate and ice cream piece of cake that we incredibly enjoyed, thanks!! I suppose we are use to service at a different level, especially in restaurants that are at a different level, we were not particularly wowed! I will say though that the restaurant has delicious food, an extensive wine list, breathtaking views, very friendly dining room assistants, that sure made this experience a pleasant one! I recommend them for the views of the city and will have to return, hopefully we will be wowed next time!

This place was amazing!! Our waiter Erick was phenomenal. Great service, extremely knowledge, prompt, and gave great suggestions. The ambiance was fantastic and the food was INCREDIBLE. Highly recommend the veal and oysters. 10/10 experience and they went all out for my friends birthday that we were celebrating. Such a fantastic experience. Will be back!!

My favourite culinary experience of 2021! This restaurant is simply stunning. Regular readers of my reviews will know that accolade is subject to much competition! Rene steered me brilliantly through a menu late on Friday evening - nothing was too much trouble for this team, even though I was dining alone. Service is streets ahead of Le Colonial. So is the food! I ate Charred Octopus and Italian Meatballs as starters. My main was the Sea Scallop Risotto. I took the house special dessert, Banana Oreo Cake. And the Italian Sauvignon accompanied brilliantly. View, ambience, flavours, presentation and service all combine into one seductive restaurant experience. Bring the one you love here, and enjoy everything your eyes survey!! Bellissimo!!

The wait time was not too bad after we initially booked. We got our food much quicker than expected. It was definitely worth every second and ever penny of it. All the steaks and fried were amazing. The asparagus side was also delicious. I definitely will be coming back to try more . Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fancy restaurant

This is hands down the best dining experience I’ve ever had. Looking at the front of this restaurant, you would not expect the fantastic view that you are about to enjoy. Even more of a reason to go to a restaurant is the food. So incredibly delicious. Steak, brussel sprouts, twice baked potato (outstanding), and then dessert. I don’t think the desert lived up to par on the rest of the meal, but it was beautiful. Our server and all of the rest of the staff had tended to us and everyone else there. I was in awe and will absolutely return.

Had my anniversary dinner at Gibson Italia, as we had were visiting Chicago to celebrate and it was one of our favorite moments of the trip. Costumer service was fantastic, from the host on the 1st floor to the one who seats you at the restaurant level, there was always a welcoming feel along with a professional personality. Once we were seated, the waiter had vast knowledge of the menu, answered all of our questions and made great suggestions. Once the food came is when my level of satisfaction went from 4 stars to 5, the presentation of the food was perfect, my Wagyu NY strip was cooked to a perfect medium rare and my wife's to more medium center. Drinks were just an added bonus, as they were very good and complemented the godly level of the food. As if it wasn't enough, the waiter brought an elegant desert, complements of the house to celebrate our anniversary. I highly recommend coming here at least once if on Chicago, I know I will!

Visiting Chicago to celebrate my wife’s birthday we decided to have dinner at Gibson’s because it seemed to have an elegant atmosphere and menu with good views down the river. The food was very good with prices similar to other steakhouses. The view was as advertised and the service was outstanding. The one downside was the tables were very close together and it was a much louder, less intimate dining experience than we expected. We still had a wonderful evening.

Dining here was a top notch phenomenal experience. The view is stunning. Food was on point. It was my first time trying beef tatare and I was in love! And of course, service and timing was perfect. Special shout-out to our server Taylor for providing the best experience I could have asked for!

Truly remarkable place Gibsons Italia. Every piece of meal melted in the mouth. Those guys know what they do in the kitchen. Food is fresh and tastes just perfect. View is just great from the terrace, actually view is great from inside as well because of the huge windows, which are very clean. Overall place is clean with very good and high level service. Will certainly visit it again and will recommend to friends and family.

Absolutely one of the best restaurants in Chicago! We went for our first wedding anniversary and from the second we walked in, we were celebrated!! William, the GM lead us to our table and had the most welcoming energy. Gabriel was our waiter and he provided us with incredible service from start to finish. We started with a few yummy oysters and Caesar salad. I highly recommend the scallop risotto for an entree, & we also enjoyed a chicago cut steak with charred asparagus. We were given a complimentary dessert which paired very well with our espresso martinis (best in the city by far). Overall a great dining experience and we will definitely be returning!!! Next time I want to try the octopus and Italia meatballs.

What can I say? Service was excellent 👌 cocktails perfectly crafted. Food exceptional. The atmosphere was comfortable, and one could easily hold a conversation. Take into account that we were away from the bar. Closer to the bar, forget it, noisy crowded and uncomfortable. I highly recommend that you move. My top recommend entree is the spicy rigatoni and for an appetizer the grilled octopus.

Gibson's Italia is an absolute gem! From the moment we stepped into the bar, every aspect of our experience was nothing short of exceptional, but it was the seamless service by our server, Billy, that truly elevated our evening. His recommendations were spot on, guiding us through an exquisite culinary journey that included the Tomahawk steak, the tantalizingly spicy rigatoni, and the divine scallop risotto. The entire experience was an absolute triumph! Gibson's Italia isn't just a restaurant; it's the pinnacle of taste, service, and ambiance.

I've dined at Gibsons Italia many times. The food is always terrific. The well trained staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. The views from the dining room are also spectacular, showcasing Chicago from the river. This evening was a birthday celebration and we had the oysters, smoked beef tartar, lobster bisque, steak board with bone marrow, and desserts...everything was great. Look forward to my next visit.

After receiving a gift certificate for Christmas, we decided to venture into the city. The seating arrangements were ideal: There were Plexiglas panels between diners--functional as well as aesthetically pleasing. We ordered a variety of dishes from steak to appetizers to dessert. Superior ingredients, creative recipes. I had two Manhattans, because the first was so good! Our servers welcomed us, answered all questions, and were attentive and personable. Lovely views! We'll be back again.

I came here for my 3 year anniversary with my girlfriend. We booked last minute and could not have had a better experience. The appetizers, the drinks, the food, dessert and most importantly the service was 10/10. I always think there is room for improvement but Gibsons and our server, Mason, proved me wrong. They hit every mark and I will be back several times this year.

We came here for our wedding anniversary…….. Me and my husband were greatly satisfied with the service from the host to the waitresses. The food was great but that Tiramisu was awesome! I also appreciate for accommodating us to be seated by the window. Overall thank you to all the team at Gibson Italia for making our evening a special one.

The food is delicious, the ambience is cozy and the view of the city is amazing, I would have given them 5 starts if it wasn’t for the service, the waiter brought us the check without requesting for it, and I told him I wasn’t ready to pay, that I still wanted to look at the desserts menu, he brought the menu, we ordered a cake and two cappuccinos, and then he brought the check again without us requesting for it, like he wanted us to leave the place. I gave the same review on open table since there’s where I got the reservation.

Ambiance/environment: 4/5, great views and active restaurant. The noise level was a bit higher than what I’d prefer to hear my significant other. Appetizer: 2/5, they cut up the meatballs for us, which I guess was nice? Not necessary though. I didn’t like the taste of the meatballs. They had a hint of like seaweed/ocean/fish to it and I didn’t care for that. Also for two people you only get 2 or 3 meatballs. Entree: 4/5, the pasta was delicious when I recently went (I ordered the Mafaldine), but I remember getting pasta there before and it was too plain (maybe the vodka pasta or spaghetti and meatballs). Dessert: 4/5, the crème brûlée was delicious. I didn’t care for the citrus though, so I scraped it off. The crème brûlée was very fluffy and airy in texture. Service: 3/5, it was super busy when I went last. The waiter was nice. It took a while to get our drinks. When my drink came out it was like a sprite with cherries, but I ordered a Shirley temple. I would have appreciated it if the waiter came back to let me know they were out of grenadine and if I wanted sprite or something else.

No turtle pie here! But the venue and views are very nice! The service is everything it should be. The menu is different here from Rush location but the food/dessert was delicious and my drink was tasty. (But noted there was glass on the floor.)

My husband & I celebrated our 7th anniversary here and had a wonderful time. We requested a table with a view when making our reservations which was so beautiful. Our food was delicious and the service was excellent. Bonus! The restaurant brought us an anniversary slice of mousse cake which was the perfect sweet ending to a great night. We will be back to try the baked Alaska that was being flambéed at a few tables near by!

The banana desert was the best thing we had! Steaks (Australian dry aged and Rib eye dry aged) were perfectly cooked and very good. Appetizers were delicious. Scallop and risotto very good. The wood ear mushroom side was yummy! The puree potatoes were bland and tasteless. We added the roasted garlic from our plates to them to give them flavor. Didn't help. It tasted like it wasn't seasoned at all, with anything. The view wasn't as cool as I expected. Def not like people's pics. Outside was where you got the view. Sommelier Franky was very nice! And knowledgeable.

Absolutely one of the best dining experiences. Service impeccable filet mignon cooked to perfection l. My wife had the veal chop, which was fabulous. Perfect cooked asparagus and spinach. Wine sommelier suggested a wine that fit perfectly with our dinner. Baked Alaska for dessert was a real treat. Next time, we will bring our family and friends. Can't wait.

Having my birthday lunch here. I felt so special when I was greeted with HBD! The restaurant is elegant. Staff are very nice. The server is knowledgeable, he recommended a very very nice and inexpensive Champaign. All the dishes we had were excellent. The view from the restaurant is very nice. I like everything about this restaurant. Highly recommended.

The halal Australian steak and the fish were amazing. The mushrooms weren't bad either, a little too earthy for my liking but the rest was worth it. The dessert was good too.

We had dinner at Gibsons Italia prior to a show in the loop and it was a great experience. The atmosphere was perfect and the food was delicious. The server was very friendly and helpful in walking through the menu. Most of the seating areas have a great view of the Chicago skyline and river. A perfect date night spot!

The service was incredible from the beginning. The food was bomb! So good!! Even had mocktails. Our waitress had spot on recommendations and we were celebrated for our 6 year anniversary with a nice little dessert ❤️ 10/10 highly recommend!

We've been going to Gibson's restaurants for over 20 years. Tonight, we went back to Gibson's Italia to celebrate my wife's birthday. Our service was very good, but in terms food quality, there were a number of hiccups. Most of it was temperature related. Soup came out room temperature. Steak came out less than room temperature. Pasta came out cold. They did a nice job fixing all the issues and presented a nice assortment of desserts for the table at the end. An additional disappointment was getting home and realizing the restaurant didn't pack several of the items that were leftover. For what we spent (table of 11), this was fairly disappointing and not consistent with the Gibson's brand. Not sure whether we'll go back.

This place is from heaven! Overpriced but worth the money once a while. The scallions were cooked to perfection, risotto was creamy and rich, steak was super tender not even mention the double baked potato that it was so creamy. The mango margaritas with the Tajin rim were immaculate. I would definitely recommend this place, perfect for a date night since the view of the city is beautiful! Be ready to spend some serious cash though. 💰💰💰

Went to gibsons for a casual lunch on Saturday with some close friends. Let's start off by saying great service, solid location and perfect ambience. Definitely a spot for a celebration and not just your casual hang. Food: Focaccia: 4.5/5 buttery and oh so good Roasted beet salad: 3.5/5 Prosciutto Di San: 4.5/5 HUGE portion so tasty Double baked Potato: 4/5 v interesting and delicious Spicy Rigatoni: 5/5 unreal + meatball was a great add on Our party also ordered the steak and tuna salad but I think the pasta's really stood out the most. Service: 5/5 we always had someone helping us which was great. Price was honestly very very reasonable for the atmosphere + quality of food/service. Close to $18/19 for a hearty portion of pasta that was absolutely delicious!. Overall, the menu was very limited but everything was incredibly well done. Price to food ratio was honestly off the charts for such an upscale joint so I was thoroughly impressed. 100% will need to come back and try a couple more items!

Special occasion meal for a friends birthday and it certainly was special. Lively atmosphere, without it being too over stimulating. Clear and open, with lovely views to the river, which became more beautiful in the evening. Our waiter Ugo, was an utter delight. Very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions we had about the menu or drinks. Very much a restaurant for the carnivores, but no complaints from me. All the dishes we had were outstanding. If the asparagus is available make sure you get it!

So delicious and great place to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, anything. We sat outside with a view of the river. The staff was all great. Got the Chicago Cut and the chicken parm — yummy! Their banana gelato was a great way to close out the meal. Definitely recommend!!

Exceptional food and views. Dish of the day was Rigatoni with spicy tomato sauce with chicken (not on menu, made upon request) 10/10 amazing sauce. Octopus 7/10 it was good but I’ve had better , cooked perfectly and the sauce was good, and fries were amazing. Recommended!

Amazing place! Gorgeous location, great service, great prices…cant go wrong with this place. Cacio e Pepe, mushrooms, risotto (bit salty) and spicy rigatoni pasta (pasta was under cooked) totally hit the spot!! I have to come back!

It is always a pleasure to come here and dine. The ambieance and vibe is perfect. There's always a lovely crowd, business professionals, couples, sophisticated families and what have you. The energy is nice. I love the decor and the vibe is dope. I love how it look and the food is amazing. The customer service is impeccable.

100% recommend. I ordered the mafaldine and I’d say it’s one of the best pastas I’ve ever had. Could have cleaner plating, but great flavor and well balanced dish. We also ordered the U-12 prawns which were average I’d say and the Brussel sprouts which were great and should not be passed up. The staff were extremely friendly and the atmosphere was exciting. My boyfriend and I also went here for our anniversary and they gave us a complimentary dessert to celebrate which was extremely thoughtful. The view is also unbeatable. Eating amazing Italian food by the view of the city is unforgettable. Loved it and would definitely come back.

This was my second time visiting this Gibsons Italia location. Last time it was to celebrate my partner’s graduation, this time it was for my mother’s 60th birthday. Fantastic service from Edgar and Miguel. Luis, who brought out food, was lovely as well. Highly recommend. Notes: It is a bit crowded, as it is always booked. It also not the quietest place to eat, but, still great. Oh, and the views!
