Worst experience ever in a club. Will not go back ever. Horrible experience with the security woman. She could not let me and my friend into the club not only once but two weekends in a row! Now this is what happened, the first time when we went to the club there was a very long line and my friend had gotten tired standing in line and decided to sit down for a minute, this security woman came and said that my friend was disrupting the line and ordered us to go, just like that!! The weekend after, there was an afrofusion event happening at the same club that we really wanted to attend so we purchased tickets and went, the moment this woman saw us arrive, when we got to the line she pulled us aside and said we cannot get in to the club, !! Nothing like this has ever happened to me before and I feel like this security guard has her own personal reasons, it’s absolutely unfair and discriminatory.

Be careful of the parking around this area! It was my first time here, so The line to get in wasnt too long, $20 cover fee for a Saturday, good music, people were relatively friendly. There was a short employee who was alil ruff/rude when walking thru the crowd. Have your good shoes on and be ready to dance the night awayyy~ Obviously as the night went on, the place was packed.

Not trans-friendly by any means. They forced one of my friends into the "men's" bouncer line despite them obviously being a woman. Other than that, the vibe is a bit weird. It's very clearly a bar but they call themselves a nightclub, probably because they added a lot of lights. Drinks cost what you'd expect in a club, just without any of the club vibes.

One of the worst and weirdest experiences I’ve had at a club. First the place was pretty dead then the music was more slow dancing. I had 1 Long Island in the course of being there for 3 hours. I was so bored that I got in my Jeep with two friends and played music while dancing on my car. I assume we got too much attention so we were asked to park the car and come in or move the car further down the street. Once I parked my car and tried to come in I was told by 1 security that we were too drunk to come back in…. Like I previously said I only had 1 Long Island. Definitely felt like the security guard had a personal reason for being the only person to say we couldn’t come in. Definitely will not be returning.

I love Le Nocturne! I attended their Afrofusion night and the ambiance was incredible. Scotti was super friendly, always had a smile on her face, and a great conversationalist. Would 100% go again and recommend to a friend!

Went here last night with a few friends for the Black Light party. We arrived around 11 and for some reason, the bouncer checking the women was being extremely rude to me. She was barking orders at me to open my purse (which was already open), to turn around, to go over here and there. It was just really unnecessary and definitely turned me off of this place. After getting inside, you're forced to coat check which is whatever, it's 3 dollars, but the place wasn't even bumping enough to bother taking my coat off. Still, we continued on. We tried to stay for a few minutes to see if the crowd would pick up but didn't seem likely. It was just a lot of dudes with wandering eyes. The music was great though. Before coming into this place, I was prepared to buy a few round of drinks (it was pay day after all!) but with the rude staff member and weird vibes, we decided to spend our money elsewhere.

I love this place! Awesome set-up, engaging and inviting as soon as you walk in. Music and livestreams give lenses on new artists! Unmatched service, very attentive, the staff treated us excellent! Awesome experience always!

Just waited in line 30 minutes just for security (black male W/ dreadlocks & latino looking female) to tell us we couldn't get in with slides after they just let over 15 other females with sandals ... Waste of time and terrible service...!!! Make it make sense!!! Do better... Then they tried to overcharge us to get in with Said sandals smh... After all the others went in without paying... We agreed to pay and they insisted we paid them outside (I've always paid inside at the little booth after allowed entrance through the door) which was a red flag to me!

The music is good and it’s decent vibes despite the tight space however, the business the bouncer and the owner do is very acceptable considering my party got a section and spent money. How can you not let someone who bought a section, spent so much and traffic and not let them inside the club? Don’t come here.

This happened last month. Throughout the interaction, neither my partner nor I got angry or said/ did anything rude. Maybe I should have been more upset, but the whole experience was so weird that it mostly just left me very, very confused. And we’ve been to clubs (pre-Covid) and gotten bottle service before, a few times. We’d never been to Le Nocturne before. We purchased advance tickets that specified a table. When we arrived, we checked in with the hostess and asked about getting our table, and she said, “It’s just open,” waving us away with her hand (seriously) and turning to help the next guests. OK? We walked in, looked around, and sat at the bar and ordered cocktails. Only about 1/4 of tables were occupied. So we asked the bartender how to get a bottle & table - yes we have table tickets - he sent a guy our way. The guy asked how many in our party - right now 2, but 1-2 friends joining later. He said, and I kid you not, that he would sell us a bottle but NOT give us a table. What? My partner talked to him for a few minutes, and he offered to make some people move from one of the little high tops back by the bar so we could sit there. We said we would like a VIP table by the dance floor, with our VIP bottle service. He scoffed at my partner, said he had “no way of knowing” if we really had friends coming, and “since there are only 2 of you right now, I can’t sit you at a 4-top!” We left. Also - we look great, so it wasn’t that, either. No idea. There isn’t a dress code here, which sounds great in theory but in practice means that the club is full of dudebros in cargo shorts. I’m rereading this and I honestly don’t know if I’d believe someone who said this happened to them. It was so bad it veered into the bizarre. Nothing like this has ever happened to me before (being insulted by someone when trying to purchase a service), and both my partner and I are super respectful and chill with service industry people. Again, I’m not angry, I’m just very confused. Will not be back

I hope this is review meets curious and interested minds well who have not discovered a new place to enjoy in this City. Especially if you are looking for a place in Chicago that is consistent, safe, fun and very hospitable. Uptown is a very culturally diverse community, and Le Nocturne is hidden gem in this community. I am a firm believer of sustaining and supporting places that are trying, succeeding, and doing what they love especially during trying times in our world. There is never a time where I have visited Le Nocturne where I have not had an enjoyable time. Even if you want to just come and listen, people watch, meet new people you can do that here. The management shows respect, and care always. I feel treated very welcoming, and I believe this is why people come back and any business can thrive because they stick to their vision. Even after a year of discovering this venue I have seen it grow, which is so amazing. I hope to see more expansion. Thursday is such a fun day to stop by after work is you can, weekends are busier but you will see a diverse, variety filled experience here. This business I can tell prioritizes safety, the security team is attentive to matters fast, and they make sure everything flows. Saturday's even if you want to come by at 1am there is room to enjoy afro beats and house music, which I looking forward to experiencing soon. The afro beat music showcases a plethora of music from black culture around the word and the Latino Music too. The bar staff, they take pride joy, and pay attention to what you need. I love that there is complimentary water set out for guests which is helpful , and is no hassle. Sometimes I just stop to feel the music, enjoy the space, & to mentally unwind. If you visit on a weekend make sure to meet Scotti, she is a lovely spirit to see behind the bar making any drink you need. You glow with black girl radiance, and I'm glad to see you there! So kind, and hip, and she cares about customers. Jeff the GM on site he works with his team, will greet you, and treats people with respect. They all work together. I love the sound booth too, I did not realize there were staff creating lights until earlier this year and it's a lovely component to see from the dance floor. I can tell that it takes a lot to make these events happen, and you all do it so seamlessly. Some places in Chicago and other places, you may encounter staff night life venues who are not focused on positive experiences as much. I hope more people visit Le Nocturne, I hope expansion is coming, and maybe other days with different musical events, listen sessions, the sky is the limit. You have my support, and coming here has impacting my social life/ well- being in a positive way during the pandemic. #uptown #afrobeats #classynightlife #chicagonightlife #housemusic #thingstodoinchicago #lenocturne #positiveparties #placestogo

Went here with a few friends a couple weeks ago. We had a very litt experience. The DJ was definitely DJing playing all Afrobeats (which we had hoped for since this was a Afrobeats night) and didn't stray away and start playing hip hop. The lady checking people in had a serious look on her face that wasn't very welcoming but overall the vibes were definitely littt. Everyone seemed to be having a good time and actually was dancing and not just standing around. The drinks were pretty expensive compared to other clubs I've been to in the same area. The bartender had great customer service and took good care of me and my friends. Parking was horrible. Took us about an hr to find a parking spot about 3 blocks away no exaggeration.

My new fav place. The vibe is amazing. Dj was a hit on one of the Afrofusion nights. The only reason this place doesnt get 5 stars is because they need to get the AC cranking when the place is packed. We were literally dripping wet! Still danced the night away

The VIP service here is phenomenal! I appreciate that the focus was on service and not being overly showy because you’re in VIP. There’s such a variety of people there, and the vibe was cool. Lots of security ever present but they were very friendly and attentive. Can’t wait to return.

Eventbrite’s table reservation for venue stated that only 1 bottle was required, but when we arrived, site said it was a 2 bottle minimum. Also, my party of 4 was told the cover was $20. We paid that. However, my niece arrived at 11:36pm and actually got there before I did and was charged $30. They need to be consistent with pricing. Them two moves were very sheisty to me……

Club ownership is TERRIBLE, totally unorganized, unprofessional and show absolutely NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, NO EMPATHY, NO COMPASSION!!! They had ALL attendees to the Mike Dunn party last night stand outside in the snow for hours. They were rude, wouldn't allow many people to get in at all, and those that they DID let in, they TRIPPLED THE COVER CHARGE PRICE!!

Bouncers were rude and aggressive towards me and a friend last night , it was a black man with Locs and a Hispanic woman with lip fillers pushed us out of the venue AFTER checking our ID’s leading us to think we were getting in, and proceeds to ask for $25 to get in, when Le Nocturne (AFROFUSION) says we can get in before midnight, It was not midnight.

The place looks great and the environment feels very safe. They have a very diverse attendants so you wouldnt feel like an outsider. The lady with colorful hair and beautiful eyes brought so much energy to the club. She looked like one of those fairytale characters we heard about as children. She is both mystic and majestic. I was quite awed when I saw her and she is my kind of energy!!!!!

The Latino girl claiming she owns the place wouldn’t let us in because for our shoes while she processed to let other girls in sandals in . She was very rude and unprofessional. This is my second time here at this bar. Each time has been an amazing experience. From the bouncers to the bartenders to the music. My bartender honestly made my experience even better! Whenever going to le nocturne, I recommend you have Jenn as your bartender. Super friendly, sweet, always smiling, never disappoints with drinks, and most importantly always PROMPT! Definitely have to come here more often. Hidden gem lol.

I discovered this venue earlier this year right when certain opening restrictions in Chicago were slightly open to a certain capacity with the pandemic ( march maybe). The first time I visited I was very impressed and I felt safe. The staff followed every covid policy I could think of, they were persistent and consistent with making sure no one left their assigned sections, and the wait staff visited you as much as needed. You can bring food if desired and hungry into this space which is nice to eat while you drink. The capacity limit was never broken, and even in the middle of this world crisis I felt I could enjoy myself a bit more. I started to visit the venue more , mostly on Thursday's top enjoy the afro-beats music. The venue is always very clean from top to bottom from my perspective, no fights, the security is respectful, polite, and they are always visible and taking care of their work honorable. The management that I have met is always kind, diligent, and accommodating to guests. Whether I want to sit alone and listen to music on a seat in the back or close to the bar, I feel safe and able to enjoy myself. The bar staff is always friendly, and helpful. The DJS are wonderful, kind, and alway open to making each day a memorable experience. They love what they do its very evident. I Iove to see black music being spread and a diverse and empowering way. I have seen the Thursday's night experience grow since I first discovered the venue. The lighting is perfect and elegant. It always feels crispy, clean, and smells brand new. Even if I don't come to dance, I come to support, and take a break from my work week and day. I am glad to know this is happening, its worth my 27 minute drive from the the south side. I look forward to hearing more music. I visited Le Nocturne during my birthday week, and I brought some friends it was fun, and a great memory all the staff was cheering for me. I have met new people, and overall had positive experiences each time I have been here. I remember when I first came the DJs awarded free drink tickets which was a surprise. I am not a drinker but I have tried the one of the cocktails. The peach one is so flavorful, I love the rum punch specials. I know during the pandemic some of the rules and prices at different places change for business reasons, which is understandable. Overall I am happy to know I cam visit uptown for this experience, and I have never once felt unsafe , even with a mask on I enjoy myself. I hope to stay one night until 4am before it gets cold. Keep up the great work and the Afro Beat experience. One Love!

Terrible club. Went for afrofusion and it seems like they don't want women in the club. Look at all the women saying the bouncers, owner, and managers are aggressive. You won't be safe here at all and the staff steals. They add on extra gratuity to your bill and don't trust their coat check! If they manage not to lose it you will definitely have empty pockets!

In Chicago for a show, looking for a fun club/ bar near our accommodations, thought this looked fun. That's all it is, LOOKS. Staff was extremely rude from the street. Looking like the tourists we are, all the sudden there's a door fee, then a ticket- for what I have absolutely NO idea. The music was terrible as in the beats were making no sense, had to buy a coat check ticket we didn't want, drinks were downtown prices, but $32 for a well vodka and sprite, they're awfully proud of that $8 bottle of Aristocrat we could have bought at the liquor store, and that was AFTER doing pretty much all we could to finally get a bartender to even acknowledge us. Not going to toot my own horn but listen, toot toot cuz I am a 20-year veteran of the bar industry as in I have tended bar in five different states on both coasts and a sprinkle in between, and I have not once, not ever in all my years, all the bars/ clubs/ venues felt so unwelcomed, unappreciated and taken advantage of. I CANNOT WAIT to NEVER go back here and I cannot wait to tell everybody who has an ear that will listen or eyes for me to write down just so they can read how terrible this place was. 10/10, hope this place and the miserable people running it find hope. Good LORD.
