Event venue Party planner Art school Painting lessons Pottery classes

😠 a) The class started late b) The class was OVERCROWDED! You don't get to have your own wheel! So you spend at least half the time waiting your turn to do anything. c) The instructor did a five min tutorial and then left to teach another class! They did not guide you a step at a time, just all the in... People often mention class, pottery, time, classes, great, instructor, night, experience, painting, paint,

Had such a great time for our anniversary! We took the couples pottery class Brittany was so helpful especially after I tried a few times to get my bowl right! Highly recommend!

    a) The class started late b) The class was OVERCROWDED! You don't get to have your own wheel! So you spend at least half the time waiting your turn to do anything. c) The instructor did a five min tutorial and then left to teach another class! They did not guide you a step at a time, just all the info at once and then gone. d) The tools given were bad. You have to use the spin wheel on a wobbly table shared with others WHILE STANDING and bending over. Obviously incredibly hard to stay stable and leveled, especially for beginners with less than minimum guidance.

Did the beginners wheelthrowing for a date night, we got about 2 min of quick instruction and demonstration, and then we were left to make a bowl with no further info. Taking home something usable and/or remotely attractive is unlikely. Maybe watch a YouTube video beforehand? It’s mostly playing with clay and vibing. Overall great atmosphere, friendly staff, fun night.

I went here on a date, and it was such a wonderful experience! They had a lot of pottery to choose from to paint and they did a nice job explaining what to do and offering support. The only thing that could have been better is having more variety within the selection, it was a lot of llamas 😂. Update: I returned for a pottery class and the price was so good I couldn’t turn it down. The experience was well-worth the money. I had so much fun crafting a bowl and I feel like I have learned a lot. Check out the photo to see what I made 🙂

Probably one of the worst classes I’ve ever taken and I honestly do not understand how this place has 4.5 star rating. I’m not one to write reviews and I normally write positive ones if I do but I’m hoping this will save someone else’s time and money. I took a beginners pottery class, it was disorganized and extremely unprofessional the whole time. The instructor doesn’t even introduce himself, then gives us a 5 min tutorial about how to use the wheel and then literally leaves. Everyone had questions and we couldn’t even find the instructor at all. They didn’t show us what to do, how to do things, and what to do if you were done. I will never be coming back here.

Worth it! The vibe was cool. Music, laid back atmosphere, overall lots of energy. depending on the class and the group determined how great time you will have. Way harder then it seams lol ...many people didn't make anything due to being difficult or just made small bloobs/ashtrays but even more of a reason to sign up for another class

My daughter had some of her friends there for pottery painting for her Birthday . They are short staffed so can’t take much time to explain . I had a Groupon so the only thing we were allowed to paint were things other people created and didn’t want. The worst thing was after we painted I called 9 times to try a retrieve our articles that we created and no one would return the call ever!!

They ask people to write free reviews in exchange for free class but never follow up with the free class hence inflated ratings. Class is fun but the communication is awful and it's impossible to get a hold of anyone to get your piece after. I went to a pottery class and it was a blast! The class is huge and they have a lot of pottery wheels. The space is cool and chill, it made for a really relaxing fun experience. The teachers were nice and helpful. I never picked up the pottery though, it was a little confusing on how to get in the building and what their hours were and I was unable to reach anyone on phone in the time they said to come pick up I believe 10 days.

Fun place to visit. You can discovered your artistic abilities and test limits of your creativity. Host let you do your "own thing", he just gives pointers. Good time especially if you bring some snacks and cocktails.

I did a BYOB nude paint class with my friends and it was one of the best paint classes I’ve ever been to. They had all the supplies ready for us, and the model was extremely nice! ( he walked around complimenting our paintings while on his break) great fun for a girls’ night out! The instructions were clear and the pacing was perfect. Definitely coming back again.

I went to Color Cocktail Factory with a friend this week and had a lovely time. We did the mug / bowl-making class and spent the two hours sculpting both items. There were multiple classes happening in the studio simultaneously, so our instructor was a bit distracted going between groups. We were expecting a bit more instruction, but the sculpting was simple enough and we enjoyed that we could chat and move and our own pace.

We reserved a spot for the Spinning Wheel pottery class with a group of four on a Thursday night. The class offered a fantastic opportunity to personally engage in the process of wheel spinning to create unique pottery pieces. Each of us received clay and a spinning wheel to craft our individual creations. Following the pottery spinning session, we patiently waited for our pieces to dry for approximately two weeks. Subsequently, we booked a pottery painting class to add a personalized touch to our creations. Finally, we were delighted to collect our completed pieces three weeks after the painting session. Overall, the entire experience was really enjoyable! I highly recommend this affordable spinning wheel pottery class to any beginner!

Great first time experience for their pottery date night, as far as enjoying each other's company and having all the materials we need for pottery. A lot more people than I imagined, but it was nice. We received instructions on making a shallow bowl, but it seemed like other people were able to receive more attention by the instructor. Someone next to me and I had a similar question about how to make a taller piece (I wanted to make a makeup brush cup, and she wanted to make a vase). And we were brushed off it being "too advanced" for us, while I noticed other women who were asking questions, the instructor sat down and was explaining things more in-depth.

I enjoyed my class last month. I was shock to see so many men and women enjoying a Friday night creating art. The instructor was fun and helpful. We were able to have snacks and drinks prior and after the class. I definitely want to take another class.

Its a huge place. Every nook and corner of this place give a feel of art and craft. They have so many activities to offer ranging from painting, adult toy making, terrarium, glass painting, pottery painting etc. i got pretty good deal from groupon. The process of registration was quite straightforward. Our painting teacher was awesome and even though i am a beginner, my painting came out very nice. They guide you very well throughout. If you are stuck they will help you. But don’t expect they will make anything for you. Its your masterpiece and they want you to be whole sole owner of it. Its a BYOB, so just get your own drink and unravel the Picasso in you 😊

A must do for sure! I went there for candle making with a friend. The actual room where all activities are taking place is in the basement of a building that’s not marked with any signs but once you get to the door, you’ll see a label on the door. You can only enter with the code you receive once you buy your ticket. By the way, parking is available on the streets nearby for free. The staff is very friendly, met the owner and he’s also very nice and approachable. We got there late but the instructor didn’t mind explaining the process to us all over again. There are many classes to choose from and the atmosphere is casual, friendly and open to all. I’m definitely going to return. Also, you can bring food and drinks - some people had done so, but I’m unsure if the event called for it or it’s acceptable for any events.

I've signed up for many classes at Color Cocktail Factory, and every time it's been a good time. Yahya is always helpful and friendly, although sometimes busy hosting classes simultaneously. He has music playing in the background, so even when I attend alone, it's a party. There are lots of paintings offered, ceramics, mosaics, candle and soap making... so many mediums of creating and I love them all. The atmosphere is open and welcoming. Color Cocktail has been my go-to for art therapy this past year, starting with a couple online classes and even celebrating birthdays. And with free, street parking, you can't go wrong. I highly recommend.

Came here for a pottery class…Very fun! Our teacher was great at explaining what to do but also gave us encouragement to go our own way & did not limit our creativity It was really fun to see what everyone else created. Excited to go back and paint/glaze our pieces and sign up for some of the other classes too

I have lived in Chicago for 4 years and I come here at least 2-3 times yearly to paint pottery. It's one of my favorite activities in Chicago. The classes are really affordable with a coupon code. The instructors are so welcoming and really chill, and really care about you having a great experience. They have an amazing selection of pottery to paint and lots of different colors. They provide all the brushes for you so you just get to paint. The environment is in the basement of a warehouse which is very cool and fun, and they always have nice music going. The other classes they offer also look very fun, but I love pottery painting so much so I always opt for that one.

I attended a make your own pipe and ashtray class and it was such a blast. It was easy to follow, very fun for all artist experience levels, and a great date night! One night we made our pieces, then we made another date night out of glazing our pieces! i will definitely be returning! Prices are affordable, it was a blast, and such a unique experience. Highly recommend going to any of their classes!

Great idea but poorly run. The first pottery class the teacher hardly instructed. Another teacher from a different class had to spend time away from their students to quickly instruct us. They were great but very run thin. We returned before the month was up to find our art from that day already destroyed. With no refunds for the glazing class we were told we could sift through other stuff that people didn't take 😔. There are so many other ways this place could be organized to not screw folks over.

I had a great time building a terrarium with a friend. Plants are still living about 6 months later so far! Reasonable price, all supplies needed provided, helpful staff. Looking forward to trying another class
