Unique experience! You enter what looks like an old laundry and then pass through a "secret" entrance to the bar/lounge. You don't need to have purchased a ticket for the actual show. You can simply stop in for a drink and enjoy the ongoing table Magic being performed at the bar. If you have purchased a ticket for the show, they will seat you in groups to your reserved seats at about 7pm. You then have about an hour to order food, drinks and again enjoy the roving table Magic. Various Magicians come to your table. The main performance consisted of two performers ... Both excellent! If you purchased the premium ticket, (limited to 40 people), you then get to go backstage for a special close up performance. The food was surprisingly good. Normally I wouldn't expect much from this kind of venue, but the Chicago Magic Lounge did an excellent job all way around! The tenderloin sliders were delicious and the fries hot and crispy. The surprisingly good appetizer was the roasted olives! YUM! I highly recommend you check this place out for a unique and entertaining evening!!!

What a magic place! I have been wanting to go here since forever and I finally did. Had tickets for a 10pm show but they were at full capacity at the bar so we were waiting at the laundry mat room. While there a lot of people came in just asking to go to the bar so that is also an option. In the bar area, they had some bar seating and some nice booth sofas. There was a private show in the bar so that was awesome. Restroom is an attraction too, loved the walls inside. They were covered with playing cards signed by famous magicians that had preformed at the club. I was very pleasantly amazed by the hospitality and the number of employees helping and serving. They are very well organized. There is a small introduction before they let you go into the main room through a secret door. We were greeted so many times inside. The host asked us if we are celebrating an occasion and between the opener and main act, they announced everyone that was celebrating something (12 birthdays that night). Very welcoming atmosphere. Chairs are not the most comfortable and there is not much space for coats so that is the only down side I could mention. We went on a specialty show where magicians come to your table to preform tricks for an hour before the main event starts. After that, since we got premium tickets, we went in the back theater for a private show with an amazing magician from NYC. Definitely recommend going through for a full experience. The private show was the best thing ever. You are going to love it!

I wanted to take my girl out for her birthday and came across the Chicago Magic lounge thru Google read the reviews and was amazed by all the good reviews that I had to experience for ourselves. We got there around 6:30 walked thru the front door which was by far amazing. Got to the bar and watched a pre-show while we got our 1st drink. The magician was fantastic very entertaining including everyone in the room with his magic and personality. We than got to go back to be seated for the show and had magicians at every table showing all their neat unique tricks. Not one seemed to be the same and they were all so entertaining. We ordered some drinks and the servers were excellent as well as the drinks that were top notch delicious. If your glass was empty they were there. We didn't get to order any food but I heard it was worth the price. Jan Rose started our evening out before the magicians came on and stole the show with her personality. The magicians were by far entertaining after the show we got to go to the 654 club which was about another hour of magic. 654 is like a VIP lounge that's more private experience of magic. The whole night was awesome my girl loved it and so did I. So if u need a night out for a special occasion or just a date this is the place to go to see some great magic.

If you’ve never been, you HAVE to go! Although it’s a bit on the pricier side once you add in the cost of tickets, food, and drinks, it’s well worth the cost. For their signature shows, you get about 3-4 table magicians, a stage opener, and then the headliner over the course of the night. If you get premium tickets, the extra 645 club is so fun too. Overall, this is a place well worth the trip and makes you feel like a kid again, which is priceless. Thank you CML 💖

Classy venue and even classier team providing memorable and fun magical experiences. The bar setting is a small and intimate space. It doesn't require a ticket for entry, but it does fill quickly. So, if you want to enjoy a drink and have a glimpse before you commit to a show, it's best to go around 5 pm or after 7 pm. Magician performs close-up at the center of the bar. We LOVED the show featuring Justin Purcell, called "An Honest Living." Funny, sassy, and engaging magic illusions. This was in the Harry Blackstone Cabaret Theater (the larger performance venue, with reserved seating at small tables). Not much room for coats as it was sold out (!!), but every seat in the house is a good one. They also have Showcase and Signature performances. So there are plenty of options for your interests and your budget. Food was fabulous too. Delivered warm to our table. And they're glad to a run a tab. We'll be back soon! Maybe we'll see you there!

It's a magic show from the time you enter, to the time you leave! The drinks were strong, the food looked good and the staff was professional. You are entertained by a magician at the bar. Side note. You can go to the bar without purchasing a ticket and watch the bar magician, just dont forget to tip! Once it's about curtain time you enter the main room. Magicians come to your table and do up close magic. We paid for the show after the show. This was in a smaller room in the back and entertained by more magic. The magician's owned their craft and were funny. Loved the interactions of the magicans with the crowd. Great experience would go back. Parking wasn't terrible to find around that area. The parking meters were free after 6pm.

We had an absolute blast at the Chicago Magic Lounge! Our tickets were for the 10 pm Signature Show, and we were seated at around 9:45 pm, with the main show officially starting closer to 11 pm. While we waited, several talented magicians visited our table to perform close-up table magic, which left us thoroughly mesmerized. The main show featured both an opener and a headliner, and our premium tickets also granted us access to the 654 Club show afterwards. The cabaret-style setting of the magic performances was so entertaining, and all the magicians we saw were nothing short of incredible. Special kudos to the emcee, Jan, whose infectious energy added a fantastic dynamic to the evening. The lounge also offered an extensive selection of drinks and food options that enhanced our overall enjoyment of the evening. We had a wonderful time and are excited to return for more magical experiences at the Chicago Magic Lounge!

A really cool place for a night out or even for special events! All performers are really good and with a great sense of humour. The drinks are really good and the initial close-up tricks at each individual table before the main show are a nice touch. If you don't want to end the night early, you can remain at the bar where you can experience extra tricks.

The Chicago Magic Lounge is wonderful! The performers were incredibly engaging and talented; I saw Benjamin Barnes and Abby Segal on a Tuesday night in January. Both were great at engaging the audience, and I had an awesome time watching them. The “Mischievous Imp” cocktail was delicious and spicy, and all of the other drinks looked really good. I also loved the decor throughout the space; it was really neat seeing a lot of interesting pieces of history displayed in shelves and on the walls. The bathrooms are also cool, although one has heated seats, which is disconcerting. Overall, I highly recommend going here with coworkers, friends, family, or on a date!

I wanted to go to this place before Covid hit and then waited until they lifted their policy. The magicians were great. However, they do like 2 or 3 tricks, and that's it. We sat for 1-1.5 hrs waiting for the main show to start. During that time, 2 magicians stopped at our table and performed some short tricks. One of the tricks was very basic if you had seen common card tricks. The after show in the back was good, but the crowd made it much better than it probably would have been. Overall, I am glad to have seen it, but I would not recommend it or go again. For the price, you could see David Copperfield. You are there for 2-3 hours for the late show and get about 30-45 minutes of actual performance.

Worth the wait!!! Impulse decision to wait in line and be let inside one of Chicago's coolest speakeasy. You can buy tickets for the show or just show up and with a little wait, you will be let into the bar after going through a laundry mat. Drinks are pretty reasonably priced and if you wait long enough, you will get a sweet treat of a magic show. Talented and kind staff, so not forget to tip!

I have a great time!, it was lively, and funny. The people are nice. For a Tuesday I thought the place would be empty, but to my surprise it was a nice crowd. Drinks are strong and good. Be aware of the laundry mat entrance it was so creative and funny. I had fun from the beginning until the end. I had fun for my Birthday.

This was by far the BEST date night I've ever experienced!!! From the second you get to the entrance it is NONSTOP elegance mixed with so much entertainment, fun, & comedy! I could not stop smiling the entire time! Entering the building alone was amazing. Then once seated the beautiful MC personally comes up and greets you. She was amazing and spoke with so much enthusiasm and character. She did beautiful outfit changes between acts as well. She was the definition of a classy and fun story teller. The magicians also did an AMAZING job prior to the show. They went up to each table, introduced themselves with their fun personalities, and gave a jaw dropping close up magic show at your table!! They're was an amazing piano player too set the mood. All the servers were super attentive & serve you during the entire show. The show itself was so much fun. I love how interactive they were with the crowd. I also paid for the 654 show after and omg SO worth the money!!! Its a more personal inclusive group watching a single magician. I was absolutely amazed at every trick.

I don’t know how I came across a magic show at 7pm on a Wednesday- but I’m so glad I did. As fast as my money disappeared, so did my doubt. The jokes came one after the other. I had no idea who I paid to see but I know I got way more than I paid for. The food could make Gordon Ramsey proud, the drinks would make James Bond blush and the comedy.. the comedy was like if John Mulaney and Tom Segura had a baby. The whole night was great, I would go back tomorrow if I wasn’t waiting on child support. (Kidding). But seriously- just go. I hope it takes you less than 5 minutes to find the door.

So, I am biased, because my husband is a magician, and we have been trying to get to Chicago to visit the Chicago Magic Lounge for a long time, and we absolutely loved it. From the minute you enter the front door (which is an experience in itself) to the very end, it's a whole different world. Be sure to come early and enjoy magic in the front bar area (and visit the bar restroom while you are there; trust me). Before the main event is an hour of close up magic by other talented magicians. Be sure to tell the staff if you are celebrating a special event. We were made to feel like VIPs, thanks to Jan Rose. The featured and main events were wonderful. We paid more for premium seating so that we had access to the 654 Club, the last show of the night. Excellent quality magicians, friendly staff, delicious food... it's an experience that will stay with you. My only disappointment... I wanted more magic!! We can't wait to come again!!! Thank you for an excellent experience!!

I absolutely enjoyed myself. I was fascinated about walking into what looked like a small unattended laundromat but ended up being a beautiful theater. It was funny, exciting, and memorable.

What a truly magical evening. In every sense, for every sense. We started at the bar with an abracadabra drink with a beautiful flower perched on the rim of the glass. Then once we were seated we enjoyed the pictured Pork Belly sliders and S'More. They were so good that we ordered another set of sliders and an order of fries. The wait staff was attentive and the Chicago-style close up magicians roaming before the main show were all outstanding! Finally, the two stage performers were incredible! Both extremely talented entertainers! Definitely looking forward to another visit here!!

Wonderful speakeasy entrance. Great bar experience, with magic and drinks. The actual show we saw was tons of fun 'Meant To Be' and a little more than just sleight of hand magic.

Last night, we experienced the totally delightful - Chicago Magic Lounge! What an incredible place! After entering through two secret passages, we were treated to enthralling performances in a stylish, purpose-built magic venue. If in Chicago, do yourself a favour and visit this exquisite and amazing venue.

This is one of those places that is a complete hidden gem unless a local tells you about it. And that's if they even know about it! Fantastical little place with incredible hidden rooms. This place offers a good little number of snacks and drink choices to make your visit even better. If you arrive early enough to fit into the bar area before a show, you can see plenty of close up card magic before the show, also afterwards if you so desire. They host great magicians and have awesome servers and hosts to make your visit very memorable.

The Chicago Magic Lounge offers a genuine taste of Chicago-style magic with a rich historical touch. The cocktails are pretty good, though the comedic aspect can be a bit cheesy—fortunately, the magicians make up for it with a few tricks. While the show is entertaining, it might not live up to the hype for everyone. My main gripe with the two-hour show at the Chicago Magic Lounge was the initial cocktail hour, which felt like a prolonged sales pitch for drinks. While a few magicians made appearances, it was generally underwhelming. The second hour showcased two magicians; the first was impressive, but the second one seemed outdated, spending 15 minutes playing with a string. As someone not well-versed in magic, the overall experience left me feeling underwhelmed.

My fiance took me here for my birthday. Wow what a magical night! From the second you walk in to when you walk out it's entertaining. The staff was tremendously welcoming, accommodating, and so so friendly! We went to the 10:00 show then the midnight show after. Definitely recommend the aftershow also. Definitely can't wait to show this place off to some family and friends.

Great experience. Very intimate table magic and a fun comedic magic show. Eat before or after because there are only very lite finger foods available. Side note: Stay for the bar magic if you can!

Such a fun, unique experience! The tickets are so well-priced considering you’re getting a few hours of music, magic, and even one on one magic for that flat price. There’s a bar with classic and more unique drinks as well, plus a kitchen. The magicians were great! They had cool tricks and they were excellent performers. Loved the mix of magic and music, the band was really talented as well! The space itself is also wonderful. You enter through a “laundromat” and head through beautifully decorated lounges to the theater area that’s not too large. This is a great one of a kind experience! It’s the perfect date night.

A great experience. While the pre-show magician that came to my sitting area lacked pizzazz, the main show was fantastic. I truly enjoyed the surprises and the disbelief. The small amount of food I got was fine as something to have during the show, but the drinks are a bit over-priced for what they are. Overall, I recommend but would just get wine and have cocktails afterward if I were to go again.

Chicago Magic Lounge is a theater and bar dedicated to magic. It is located in Andersonville, on Clark Street. Entrance to the theater is through a secret door in a laundry. The atmosphere is very exciting. There are magic shows 7 days a week. Drinks and small dishes are served. I was pleased that there was also a selection of non-alcoholic cocktails. The prices are comparatively high. For a special occasion, however, a visit can be worthwhile. Tickets are best booked online.

This was our third visit to the Chicago Magic Lounge and it never disappoints. It always starts with an hour of close-up magic at your table while you order your drinks and/or food followed by an hour stage show. We have never seen the same thing twice and it's always a lot of fun. I highly recommend it for a fun night out, and it's particularly fun to bring out of town guests for an experience they won't be able to find anywhere else but Chicago.

Best Laundromat Ever!!!!! This Laundromat has amazing cocktails, Magic Shows, great vibe but unfortunately you can’t do the laundry here. Go there for a drink and some magic shows. You won’t regret

I don't want to spoil it but you can't go wrong with date night at the Chicago Magic Lounge. From the moment you arrive it's like entering a Disney attraction. The drinks are moderately priced as well as the food. The decor and ambience are top notch, and the show was entertaining. The laughter and the surprises didn't sto coming. We were heading out after the show and then were surprised to find another show starting at the bar, which in my opinion was the best show of the evening. So glad we found this spot. I'll definitely go back.
