The barista recommended I try oat milk in my cappuccino. He really got me stoked about trying it, and I have to say it lived up to the hype. The barista then said “Take it in” when he gave it to me, as if to say I should enjoy every moment with this coffee. I sure did, and I hope you do too

With many coffee shops in the area, Intelligentsia Coffee Old Town is the place to stop in for a great cup. Located on the south end of Plum Market, the baristas are fast and friendly. Ordered a pour over and they are so tasty, roasted well and without sugar. When I find Intelligentsia Coffee I savor the flavor as it doesn't taste burnt like other chains.

If you are a real coffee buff this might be your spot. They have all sorts of special origin reserve micro batch roast types of offerings as well as a big selection of connoisseur coffee accessories like scales, presses, filters, tampers, all sorts of things like that. So if that’s the kind of experience you’re after you may well be into this spot. But if you’re looking for a comfortable friendly spot to chill, Intelligentsia Coffee Old Town does not exactly fit the bill. The interior is cold and clinical, staff gets it done but doesn’t exactly offer a warm welcome. The food offerings are exclusively pre packaged cooler options, made for moving out the door. It’s also attached to a grocery store which doesn’t help the vibe. That said, the coffee is really good. So if that’s what you want, that’s what you’ll get!

The cappuccino was slightly scalded and the space was not so nice. Service was good and the cortado was tasty. I appreciate what these guys do but wouldn't go back to this location

Delicious coffee. My favorite donut fresh from Do-right. Friendly staff

This place is mediocre at best. And almost 8 dollars for a small matcha green tea latte is the most I’ve ever been charged anywhere in the world and I’ve been to a lot of places. The matcha was meh, average..and even though I said it was for dine in and not takeaway...I still got a paper cup. The cashier seemed kind of rude too. Will not be going again...there’s better coffee places too go to. This one is just overly pretentious for no reason. Looks nice...but that’s the only positive thing about this place.

A breezy checkout for a bag of whole coffee beans that I know nothing about. The register was very helpful on providing grinding service and offering drinks, which is nice. It’s been quite a learning curve for a coffee drinker like me from a donut coffee shop kind to a grocery store bought coffee ground-beans, then back to hand grind every type of roast that is available on the shelf. Who knew a popcorn maker in microwave could save a bag of acidic beans to somewhat mellower and balanced roast with a two minutes cycle. An opportunity comes like this is rewarding regardless the expense price tag of the premium brand beans🌷

Best coffee I've had so far in Chicago. My go to place for a good cappuccino. Quiet atmosphere and free WiFi makes it a great place to work as well.

The place is fantastic, and the coffee is delectable. Even if you're not leaving the city, it's worthwhile to stop by. It's definitely worth the money! One of the workers, Aliza, was extremely sweet and even offered me a different flavor. Of course, I gave it a shot, and it was awesome. It's fantastic! This is an absolute must-see!

They forgot about my pour over until it was no longer piping hot and steaming like coffee usually is. When I asked to have it warmed they pointed down the way and told me I could use the public microwave which smelled like tacos. Try as I might microwaving coffee simply left it bland and unappetizing. I have a very good mind for coffee. I've sampled local roasters in 18 states so far, I generally love local flavor. The coffee itself was not bad, the issue was that I was asked to fix a problem that was not my fault to begin with and left feeling somewhat put off by the lackadaisical service and general frustration with my overall experience. And they advertise as "high end"

The coffee is strong and delectable. The maple-bacon donuts were tasty too.

They used to make great espresso. Now not so much!

They are good for Brescia. Not regular coffee.

Great little spot. Always a great selection of coffee beverages. Very polite and jolly baristas! Only negative is a limited amount of power outlets, which means you'll have to come early or on a slow hour to grab a seat near an outlet.
