The front door man and woman were very nice and welcoming. My husband and I sat by the door at the bar where it was chilly on the first floor but after an hour, got a table at the couch. The live jazz music was nice and the cocktails were tasty. The bathrooms were clean but the soap smelled like burning hair, gross.

Loved it here, went with my girlfriend for happy hour, we had the vino verde on the patio. Love the New Orleans music and feel. We also had oysters and cheese plate both were very good. The service was prompt and courteous. Didn't stay for live business but will return.

Front Room was a very cute and cozy restaurant in the heart of West Loop. It had a strong New Orleans influence that really made it a unique spot. The food was all quite tasty, again it was their take on New Orleans cuisine I did wish there was a little bit more of a Cajun oomf to it, but it was all quite delightful. Their cocktails were well balanced and strong, but I did feel they were overpriced for the neighborhood while the food was very fairly priced for the amount of food you received. Finally, there was live music which is both a delight and a drawback. The group we saw while there was great, but the space was small so when they really kicked it up it got extremely loud and you couldn't hear the person you were dining with at all. Would I go back? Yes absolutely, but I think I'd do things a bit different next time I do just learning from the first visit.

Great place with live music and nice atmosphere. Old style interior makes this place very cozy. Author’s cocktails were very delicious. Service is perfect. Thanks to hard-working waitresses and administration.

Came for Mardi Gras celebration and was not disappointed with the options of southern bites and cocktails. Great drinks, great food, and exceptional service. Definitely a welcome addition to the Randolph/West Loop corridor, especially if you're looking for a change of pace.

Really good food and a solid drink menu! The upstairs bar (The Backdoor Saloon) is great!

The highlight of The Front Room is definitely the live music, which I was really impressed with, and the ambiance. Stopped in late on a Sat night. Cocktails- were good, but for $12 were pretty tiny and nothing special Food- The crab cake was awesome and would highly recommend. A really flavorful dish with big chunks of crab. The charred octopus was really well cooked, but the rest of the dish didn’t have a ton of flavor. The Jambalaya was awful. I think the dish has a ton of potential, but it was VERY over-seasoned and salty which was had to get past and it was $20 which I thought was really expensive for basically soup and rice. Service- okay, not awful but not stellar I would recommend visiting mainly to enjoy the music. I hope a few tweaks are made to the dishes and the cocktails either get a bit larger or price is knocked down a bit.

UPDATE: we haven’t been back yet but they did reach out to us and made an effort to make it better. For me that means good business and I’m looking forward to going back. Checking out the Front Room's description my wife and I were looking forward to this visit. We try to make the best out of date night as we have young children and don't get to go out too often. The staff is awesome and the cocktails were delicious and that's what really saved them from getting a one star. First, what's with the music? Didn't you say you were a jazzy lounge? The music felt like the latest from Kiss FM, like what I can find anywhere else and it definitely didn't fit the vibe of the room or the food. But the biggest flop of the evening were the oysters. My wife was looking forward to them so much and ended up pulling shell pieces out of her mouth- from several oysters!!! They totally ruined it for her. They ended up comping us for the oysters, but you know what? that's not enough. Our experience was not great and unfortunately, we will not be coming back.

Went for the late jazz show. Starts at 10:00pm. No cover and the music was wonderful. Ordered off the late night menu. The prices where very reasonable for downtown. The bar service and food were out standing. New Orleans themed food all done excellent.

We made a reservation for 2 here for restaurant week. I was very excited, it sounded like a great place and totally a place that we would love. When we walked in absolutely no one helped us. It took several minutes to get someone's attention and they directed us upstairs. When we got upstairs, again there was no one to help us. We asked a bartender who seemed confused and told us to sit anywhere. We watched as several other groups walked in after us and were equally as confused about the seating situation. If we have reservations, why were we just picking anywhere to sit? A group of 4 that came in did not have anywhere to sit because smaller groups of 2 had taken larger places. Service was very slow, we waited a long time for our food to get there. It was good food, not great. Same with the cocktails. As the meal went on, the upstairs room got so crowded it was obvious that it was meant to be a bar and not somewhere to eat. We were eating at a small table with people standing over us. It was bizarre. Maybe they got overwhelmed with restaurant week, but in that neighborhood with so many amazing options for eating and drinking, I don't see us ever going back.

Excellent new place! The cocktails were fantastic and the appetizers simple and delicious exactly as it should be. Perfect to whet the appetite for the Cajun influences larger plates. And whoever did the decour, it's fantastic. Great relaxing chill place to be and I'm excited to come back and see doso music here. I love that jazz is slowly coming back in style!
