What a wonderful hidden gem! Such a warm and welcoming atmosphere and super informative small museum. Carlos was really passionate and informative- I learned a lot about the Haitian revolution and the local art and religion. I especially loved their commitment to uplifting young up and coming Haitian artists by giving them a platform at the museum. A must visit!

An Uptown gem! The exhibits are interesting (and interactive) though the museum's real value is the amazing staff who are passionate about welcoming visitors and sharing the culture, traditions, history and lived experience of Haitians. Don't let the small museum footprint fool you - this is definitely worth your time to visit!

Happy to have visited the museum. Elsie should be congratulated and honored for keeping the history and culture of Haiti alive in a city founded by a Haitian.

I was in Chicago for a trip and I decided to stop by this meseum. The guide was great, he really enjoy what he's doing and he took the time to explain to me each work of art. As a haitian, I really appreciated to discover our culture.

They are in the same building I'm in . Haitians have a long History of Political & Weather Related Tragedies ! Let's not Discount their People are Diverse not only in Color & Cultures ! Which lends itself to - Art , Food , Clothing , Customs and a Myriad of Colorful Festivities ! I say " Come On Down " y'all , it's a small and Intregueing Venue . A bit of Haiti , here in Uptown . At the North end and on the West Side of Racine . Of the intersection at RACINE & WILSON .

I have been dying to visit and thank god I finally did. The type of art that is displayed here is refreshing. Pop culture through the ages mixed with contemporary and plenty from the Chicago, IL Arts movement. The art here is provocative, powerful and really challenges your own thoughts, feelings and interpretation of pieces. I found myself with a plethora of emotions that were being evoked by the turn of every corner.

First time visiting The Haitian American Museum of Chicago and our family loved it! I went with my two kids (age 5 and 10). Make sure you book your free tickets online ahead of time. They start selling the first of the month for that month only. Tickets sell out fast so plan ahead. Once we got there, we didn't have to wait. They let us in right at the time of our reservations.

I greatly appreciate Haiti’s rich history and culture. The owners have done a remarkable job of curating pieces that truly showcase Haiti’s beauty and charm. Very informative and impressive.
