I was really looking forward to seeing something cool here.... I was deeply disappointed. The museum is at best a disorganized closet of miscellaneous stuff from the naval air station, but it fails to tell the story of the base. I suspect there is a story to be told, but I am at a loss as to what the story should be. So sorry the potential was loss.

It was very interesting to visit but disappointed that such a small space was dedicated to these important artifacts. All run by older volunteers. It needs a bigger space and a place thats more visible. Actually, it should be in the old control tower area at the center of the Glen this is an important part of history that we should not forget. It shouldn't be in a cramped spot in the corner of a warehouse.

The lack of historical appreciation we have as a society is nothing short of a tragedy.....which we will ultimately pay the price for. The history surrounding Glenview Naval Air Station, as well as Curtis Field prior should be taught, at the very least locally. People wander around the mall today oblivious to where they step and what occurred there. Glenview's leadership is also directly to blame. They fought tooth and nail to restrict any memorializing to be as minimal as possible. Furthermore, most teachers ought to be ashamed at what's considered curriculum today, no history, civics. Do kids even have to pass the constitution test today to graduate? I bet there's a lot of CRT indoctrination? Oops, shouldn't have said that...I'm sorry, actually... No I'm not.

very small and intimate space, they fit as much as they can in the space they have. the volunteers are knowledgeable. these folks ought to have a proper hanger for their displays and static aircraft displays. it's a shame this part of Glenview history is overlooked.

To bad the city doesn't appreciate what Great Lakes Naval Air Station did for it they regulated this place to a little hole in the wall. Shame on you the City of Glenview!

This place was really cool, the city did a great job at making this previous air station a great family activity location with lots of shops, good, and activities for the whole family.

They will not respond to repeated attempts to offer many items of significant value.

We visited with our 11 year old boys who are very interested in naval history. Small museum but full of stories and artifacts of the people who trained and served here. Staffed by a gentleman who was himself a veteran who served here and was very knowledgeable and fun to talk with. The museum deserves more attention and funding for its historical and community significance.

In the late 60s I was a sea cadet at Navy air station Glenview I visited the museum. Brought back a lot of good memories. Saw the Blue Angels and saw the first harrier fighter take off. It's very beautiful with the restaurants around in the shopping. Made for a great day.
