A little bit small inside, but a lot of activities you can do, my 6yo had spend over 3hr here. Plus, they got a outdoor garden, too.

My young son enjoyed this place. He was fancinated by the turtles in the tank at the front and the water section. They have clean restrooms and family restrooms. The cafe is not open to purchase food but you can eat there if you bring your own snacks and drinks. Their website recommends bringing a snack and drinks if you wanted to. We didn't do the outdoor exhibits. It felt like utter chaos to me with kids and parents running every which way. My husband and I didn't enjoy it but it's about the little ones and their enjoyment. My husband called it an expensive playground.

We took our granddaughters, aged 6 1/2 and 5, to Kohl's today. They had a great time. We spent about 3 hours there. On the way out they asked when we could come back. Butterfly garden was a real treat. Other favorites were the Whole Foods--both the grocery and the cafe portion, which was complete with cash registers and play money. The science area was also a favorite, along with the music section. Almost too many choices, so be prepared to guide the children and help them focus on what they are doing at the time. We'll be back!

Fantastic place for 3.5 yearly old grandson. Starts getting very crowded closer to noon. Lots of activities. Water room was fantastic.

Kohl's Children's Museum is the most interactive Museum for kids that I've seen. Over the years,, these were the second set of grandkids that we have taken there and they enjoyed it.

Our favorite place!! Kids are 9, 4, and 1.5 and when I say they ALL have a blast I mean it!! My 9 and 4 year old play so well, they play for HOURS in the "wholefoods" grocery area and then love the water area! I think it is one of the coolest places I love how unique each area is and it looks like little storefronts for each area. They have a "vet", a "nursery" a "bookstore", a house that the kids "build". We have a membership 😊

This is an awesome museum for younger kids. They have different interactive play areas for kids of all ages (1-8). Outdoor playground is nice too and they have tricycle for kids to ride around the park. They even have a small butterfly exhibit. My little one is 18 months old and she had so much fun. Only downside is the museum is popular and can get be crowded. But most adults and kids are respectful and play nice so there’s no issues.

This museum is good if you don’t find any other place, specially in a raining day. They have a good space. We have been coming here for a while at least the past 5 years and they lack on getting new toys or refresh the ones that they have and add more. It looks pretty empty, they really need to add new things. Overall ok place to have your kids there for a bit, I wouldn’t spend more than 2 hours.

I’ve put three kids through this place and we love it! I don’t like when Children’s Museums are too big and overwhelming and this one is just the right size. Plenty to do every single time we come but not overwhelming. My kids have a blast every time we come. Special shout-out to the cafe - I usually try to avoid museum cafes but this one is really special. My kids love the adorable food and they actually eat it. Worth the extra bit of money!

For young kids, this place is great fun and educational. First visit here and automatically my 4 year old son was hooked. Plenty of exhibits and hands on learning for sure. Pure genius for youngsters and outstanding year round fun especially during Chicago's 6 month winter. Plenty of nursing stations, family bathrooms and a cafeteria as well. Practically had to drag my son out when it was time to go. I highly recommend the Kohl Children's Museum for anyone with young kids up to maybe 8 years of age.

Lady at the check-in desk is brutal, multiple times now has shown she can't be bothered to acknowledge my 1yo daughter going out of her way to say hi and wave when we check-in. In a facility dedicated to child enrichment, no less. It's truly disrespectful, and I'm tired of subjecting my daughter to being treated without basic decency like that. Other than that, the staff in the actual play area is wonderful, they always take time to reset the areas (sometimes in fun, unique ways!) and also interact with the children. One particular lady was incredible, welcoming my daughter to sit at the blocks table with her and play. Hats off to them, but that needs to percolate to the front desk, too, especially considering that's the first interaction we have every time we walk in the building.

It was a pretty good children's museum. Cafeteria was nice and clean. Overall sections were well maintained and the crew was very kind. But I prefer the Chicago children's museum at the navy pier.

Overcrowded. They have field trips almost every morning . Many children 5 and under eat lunch and nap in the afternoon so you miss out on the art area if you get there past 3pm. (Update: if you try to come at 12-1 after field trips leave, the art area is closed again) The museum closes by 5 pm which doesn’t leave much time for parents trying to take their kids after work or after kids’ nap. Recommendations- Museum needs art area open for the whole time the museum is open so it’s fair for parents trying to avoid the field trip crowd. Extended hours in the evening would be helpful, at least for those who have a membership. I give Kohl Museum 3 stars because my kids do enjoy the exhibits when we are able to get there in the late afternoons, but they aren’t left with much time to experience everything they want to because of the early closing time.

Love this place. My 1 year old had a blast and loved playing with the trains. My 3.5 yr old loved every station. His favorites were the Whole Foods grocery store, the toy car winding race track, and the room that has the plastic balls that float in the air.

  • 3/5 Ariel . 8 months ago on Google
We like going here so I’ll give 3 stars, but it’s definitely overcrowded now and kind of dirty. And people bring their sick children there. So if you come it’s best to mask up and sanitize your hands every few minutes.

Very fun place for the little ones, there’s a new nature cat exhibit that my kids really enjoyed. Place does get packed so the earlier you can get the bette.

We love Kohl’s. We have a family membership which pays for itself very quickly. My boys love the museum. There is so much to do and see and always a new area to spend time in when they get bored of one section. Staff are amazing. Can get pretty crowded at times when you’d expect so if you prefer to have a quieter visit and can make it work try for off hours/days and note they are closed Monday’s.

We have been members for two years now. Lots to do. My 3 year old could stay all day. Each time we visit he interacts in new ways with the exhibits. Very fun and educational.

My children (5 and 2) absolutely love it here! There are excellent themed sections that will delight any child. I love that they can use their imaginations, analytical skills, problem solving skills, and creativity while playing in the different themed sections. There's a miniature "Whole Foods" market, music room, art center, blocks/building, water playroom, and much more! This is definitely perfect for rainy and cold days.

Awesome place! If you have an active child expect it to be here all day...lbvs. totally worth the trip as all the activities here are very imagination stimulating and physical.

Great place to take my 2&6 yr old boys. A lot of interactive and role play options, so much room to be creative. Bring water bottles because your kids will ask for water after hours of play time. The downside is it can get crowded and things get messy but there is no one going around. Some parents sit and let their kids run freely and that can cause problems for little ones too. The cafe has reasonably prices goodies.

If I could I would leave 0 stars and ask for my money back. The employee was attempting to grab a toy out of my child’s hand and made her cry which I told her I would handle it myself, she went on to explain it was their only baby bottle. Are you kidding me? An entire museum full of toys and you are grabbing toys out of children’s hands! Plus I asked if another child was asking for it and she said No. So these employees apparently have attitude problems unfortunately. We had just entered in when this occurred ! The worst employees they’re possible would never go again. Don’t recommend other better places to take todddlers. That respect children and understand them!

We went here on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Guess I should know better. They were very over crowded! Kohl’s just kept letting people in. No cap. The security for the kids is very poor! Even Chuckie Cheese has better security. As much as I think Kohl’s is a great place. I will definitely rethink taking the kids, and grandkids there again.

Facility is a bit run down, when we got there saw a garbage can lid on the ground and two employees walk past it, I thought that’s a bad sign. I think it was once a nice place, now it needs maintenance. Toys are dirty, bunch of play pieces didn’t work and things are in need of replacement or maintenance. At the grocery store, there is an employee who lets people in and out, instead of her standing there she should be restocking and wiping the play pieces. The only area where the employee seemed like she wanted to be there was the ball and air hose section. It doesn’t seem like it gets cleaned regularly. I heard good things and the 4.6 star review I thought it would be great. The cost I expected a cleaner and unkept place. My little one had fun, but I cringed when he put a piece of fake cheese in his mouth and it looked like it never has been washed.

This place is amazing for kids. So much to play with. Every room has something different. Lot's of activities for kids also. I have been coming here for over a 5 years as a nanny and mow as a mom. Every kid I took here had a blast.

Always a fun spot, even for new walkers. We’ve enjoyed visiting several times, and love the variety of play spaces. My one year old can have fun alongside older children, as the beauty of this children’s museum is rooted in imaginative play, which just grows with age. There are areas geared for older kids, as well as infant play spaces.

Such a beautiful place. Well managed during covid. Kids had a lot of fun! And the outdoor butterfly tent was a great addition!

First visit with my 27-month-old and we had a great time. She especially loved the water room, the "boat" (airplane) in the outdoor area, and having lots of low spots to sit by windows when she needed a quiet break for a minute. Having little sinks in the bathrooms is great. We spent about 2 hours and could easily have stayed another hour if we didn't have to get home for lunch. It was easy to buy tickets online the night before and then entry was very quick. We'll be back!

Great experience on a Friday. No wait. Got in half price due to veteran discount which was very nice for our family. My kids loved it. I don't like the mask thing, I think adults should wear them only. There was a woman, I wish I had gotten her name, who interacted with my daughter and son in a very pleasant and nice way and my kids don't approach strangers so the fact that they approached her means she has an amazing, kind aura. :) She played puppets with him in the book nook corner.

Really great indoor activity for my almost 2 year old. We easily spent a couple hours here going room to room. We only left because little man needed lunch and a nap. He particularly enjoyed the trains and the mini grocery store. We will be back.

  • 3/5 Elana C. 2 years ago on Google
Always a ton of things for kids to do. Got a little crowded & saw too many adults & kids not wearing mask properly for my liking. But with a membership its easy to go for short time.

The 6 year old says a thousand stars. Parent nearly agrees. Helpful staff. Very busy but nobody seemed overwhelmed. An alarm door got tripped and nobody died, nobody panicked, seemed very safe and fun. A great day today for sure.

Like why charge so much for adults like they care to have fun and play. Just pure greed.

  • 5/5 Nick K. 2 years ago on Google
Brought our two year old here and he had a great time. There is hours worth of activities and areas to explore. We got there when it opened on a weekday, but it was totally packed within an hour. If going back I'd plan on getting there around lunch time when families are leaving. I'd never go here on a weekend.
