I finally had a chance to come here with my roommate after our workout near Damen blue line stop! Pretty close by (we only walked for 10-15 minutes), and their Italian ice did stand out! 🍧I think their simple flavors are better, like lemon or watermelon, and other food menus seemed really good too…we will probably come back to try the Italian beef sandwich, fries, and gelato soon! ☺️ Will update this post then —

When there are so many other choices - you want to go to the right place - we’ll don’t waste your time thinking about it - this place is awesome !!!! The service was great - the owner was friendly and the food was so good. I definitely had to order more Good because I couldn’t get enough of their Italian beef.

Nicest guy, Vinny, recommended the Italian Beef with curly fries. The beef was tender and flavorful, the peppers had great flavor and not over-powering. The bread was fresh with a nice chew. What a great find. Service was superb. Definitely want to go back.

We went here on a beautiful summer late evening and the walk up order window was super cool. We ordered some sweet treats including gelato and Italian ice. I also ordered an Italian beef with hot peppers and seasoned curly fries with cheddar cheese on the side. The sweet treats were awesome and we enjoyed the beef & fries as well. They have a homemade giardiniera that was also delicious. The cherry on top was the personal service we received from Renee and Vinny, the owners. They are hard working and offer a delicious product for the community. We really enjoyed chatting with them. I love supporting businesses like this!

The Italian ice tastes very artificial. I got the watermelon and mango. Mango was okay but watermelon tasted like candy. I prefer more natural tasting Italian ices. Also quite pricey $6 for a medium. Service was good though!

Reliable tasty and filling food. Service has been great and everyone that I’ve talked to so far has been very kind. Their curly fries are probably the best fries in the area and worth trying out the place alone. A great variety of food items that will keep you coming back to try something new. I would say that the only thing would be to add some more items like pasta or wings if possible.

When you arrive you'll probably receive warm greetings from the owner (he has really cool tattoos). My first time here and he recommended many gelato flavors. He also gave me many samples to try. You can taste the fresh ingredients and I really like a lot of the flavors. I ended up with pistachios and Nutella scoops but I also like espresso, and Jameson flavors. It's a little sweet overall but with so many flavors to choose from, you'll find what you like. Also they have great Italian ice. Will give it a try next time.

Very disappointed in the serving sizes. Especially the little cup of cheese that was $2. The beef almost had more peppers than actual beef. While everything tasted great, the serving sizes and prices left me feeling a bit ripped off.

Jumping Jesus on a pogo stick. This is hands down one of the best hotdogs I’ve had in the city and I’ve been trying them all. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and seemed genuinely stoked to be making my dog. Got the regular Chicago dog and the ripper — a Chicago dog but deep fried. The owner told me about it right before they closed for the season last year and I waited until they just reopened to have one. Well worth the wait. The snap on the ripper is an added layer of nuance that doesn’t interfere with the classic Chicago dog taste. On top of that each dog was made with a lot of care — the tomatoes, pickles and peppers placed purposefully and finished with just enough celery salt. Get Vinnie’s dogs and have a great day. It’s worth it.

Vinny D’s is the best place ever! The owners and employees are the sweetest. It’s always a great experience when i stop by. It’s definitely a comforting environment! Renee is very welcoming and so kinddd!

Stopped by on a Friday at lunchtime because of all the good reviews. I was not disappointed. Got Italian beef with sweet peppers and it was excellent. Service was very very quick, too. Sandwich was ready in just a couple of minutes. Excellent!

The Italian beef and Chicago dog were alright. I’ve had better but it wasn’t what a friend hyped it up to be.

One of my favorite places to go when craving a Chicago dog! Don:t even get me started on their beefs, they are to die for! Staff is friendly and the ambiance of the place is so fun! I love coming here!

BEST/ONLY HAWAIIAN SHAVE ICE IN CHICAGO! I gotta say, I’m shocked, bewildered, so happy to have found this place. And the owner I assume, is so, so kind. I hope everyone goes to check this place out. I’ve only had their shave ice, but it’s amazing. He told us all about the process too!
