I’d arrived in Chicago as a brief one night stop over for a connecting flight and decided to make the most of my time there. Instantly falling in love with this city and exploring on foot is the way to go. So much to see and experience as you wander around. And of course it is Chicago so naturally it’s good to find original pizza pie and get the real taste of the city. Google Maps helpfully took me to Giordano’s and promised original Chicago style pizza and hospitality. It did not disappoint. Ethan who looked after me in the restaurant was great. A local guy who knows Chicago well and is great with his recommendations on what to eat from the menus. He suggested the classic which looked as good as it tasted. I’ve noticed they even sell pizzas you can take home and cook which is great if you are local or travelling elsewhere and want to share with your family and friends (if you just wanted for it all to yourself I don’t think anyone would blame you either). For a great atmosphere, excellent pizza and really nice people, do try Giordano’s while you are in Chicago.

We decided to eat here because we’ve heard nothing but good things about the restaurant. There deep dish pizza is delicious and the restaurant was amazing. We ordered a sampler for appetizers which consisted of, wings, cheese bread and cheese bites. We ordered a regular, chicken sausage, and a meat and more pies and all of them were great, they were cooked to perfection. the best deep dish pizza I’ve ever had. They offer a decent selection of beers and wine. The service and staff were great. We highly recommended this establishment.

Busy place during lunch time. Had to wait for the Chicago style pizza around 40min, but than again it was clear that they made it properly and that it is not an easy process. We were with 2 and hungry, managed to eat only half of medium sized. Yes this pizza deserves to exist, thou it was too much mozzarella for my taste. Definitely an interesting experience. Is it the best place to get this type of pizza I do not know but I got what I wanted and happy with the result, pleasant waitress, a bit loud inside.

Visiting from NYC and had to try the deep dish pizza after many recommendations we decided on Giordano’s. It definitely lived up to expectations! The personal size was perfect for a quick bite. Service was attentive although we received many wrong orders throughout our time there. Pizzas also take about 45 minutes to make so take that into account.

It was my last day in Chicago and I still hadn't had Chicago style pizza, so I looked up the place closest to me with the best reviews, and let me tell ya, Giordano's did NOT disappoint! If you are looking for real Chicago style pizza that is baked fresh, then look no further! The Chicago style deep dish takes around 45 min (they do advise you of this before you order) so come with some time to spare and I promise it will be worth the wait! Cortez was amazing and super nice and engaging, and had perhaps the best food presentation I've seen, allowing time for the perfect photo and video ops of the famous cheese pull!! The ingredients were super fresh and full of flavor, and the pie crust was to die for! I ordered a "small" pizza, and could only eat two slices, and dare I say it was even better leftover the next day!! I'd like to try some other Chicago style options next time I'm in town but Giordano's will be TOUGH to beat!

We called our order in and when we arrived there was a long line. I didn't understand it until I bit into the most heavenly deep dish pizza I have tasted in my life! We ordered a pepperoni, sausage with black olives and bell pepper. The amount of meat and cheese was unbelievable. The box itself weighed about 7 pounds, not kidding! We also ordered the fried calamari and it was so light and fresh!! I am from Texas, so the price we paid for this pizza was more than i traditionally pay, however, worth every cent. It was so fantastic that i took the left overs wrapped in my suitcase that airport security quickly questioned. I just smiled and told them they must not have ever eaten that pizza or they would understand.😁 I am returning the end of this month and I will go there again. A Chicago must stop location.

Take me back!!! If you on a diet stay away. This place is diet free haha. Good food and nice staff. For sure one of the best place to try an authentic Chicago style pizza. We got the sampler as a starter and it was really delicious. Pizza takes more than 45 minutes to make but it’s worth the wait. Restaurant gets busy as well so maybe call a head before heading there to see how long is the wait. For sure a repeat and will come back again! Keep it up

When you walk into this place, there is a counter for take out. If you go up the stairs on the left, you are met with a staff member who can seat you. Our server was really nice. Cesar salad was a bit on the dry side. Calamari breading was a bit eggy. Deep dish was as heavy as similar places around. This place was great for hosting large groups. The space is divided pretty well without making it feel too crowded. Old fashioned was a bit sweet for my liking.

Stopped here for lunch on a Saturday. Takes 45 min for a pizza so don't wait until you're starving to get here (it takes time to cook those deep dish pizzas!). Had a small deep dish pizza with meatballs. Arrived hot and fresh. Very good! Plenty for two people with some to take home.

Great place to go with friends. Deep Dish pizzas are delicious and so were the appetizers. The restaurant has many seating options and the service is very friendly. Orders can take up to 45min but I believe it’s reasonable considering how big of an operation they are. Washrooms were clean.

This is a fantastic pizza place! As expected, it was crowded after the Chicago Marathon. We were lucky to arrive early, just after my husband finished the marathon. The house salad with lemon dressing was delightful, and the calamari had a nice blend of lemon and spicy peppers. The pizza was incredibly filling and delicious. The customer service was excellent, and we loved the energetic ambiance. Just be prepared for a wait time of about an hour for the pizza if you come really hungry. Highly recommended!

We are visiting from California to drop our kid to college and Giordano's came very recommended for place to eat when in Chicago. My love for deep dish pizza started in Chicago many years ago when I visited another restaurant and instantly fell for it. I have been visiting deep dish pizza places in California and finally had chance to visit "The Giordano's" near millennium park. Food was Ok but it did not meet my expectations. I was looking forward for getting blown away. Both sandwich and deep dish pizza were practically cold. Calamari did not taste fresh. My 3 stars are for the friendly staff who were great and prompt. I guess one can visit this place once and decide for oneself. It would take me a lot to visit them again even if I got unlucky today for some reason.

I came to Chicago open minded and wanting to try their famous deep dish pizza. I first tried Giordano's. Well... For a surprise, it is a surprise. I now understand why some place in the USA they call their pizza, "pizza pies", because that's what it is: a pie, literally. I will never get why Chicagoans use pie dough instead of real pizza dough. They use it for deep dish pizza, stuffed pizza, and even thin crust pizza. Real disappointment. Also, expensive for what you get. You still have to try it, it's just not for me.

Delicious pizza. We tried the veggie pizza and really like it. Al though I'd prefer the thin crust over deep dish but if you haven't tried the deep dish ever, I'd recommend this place. They have long wait times.

Wish their service was better. Our server didn't refill our drinks for the whole time we were there. At least the guy serving water was more helpful. The calamari was not seasoned well. The only good thing about the platter was the garlic bread. Deep dish is definitely not for everyone. We didn't like how the pizza tasted. It was definitely not worth waiting for over an hour. We probably only ate a quarter of it and took the rest as leftovers. No one else has eaten the leftovers.

Great pizza! We were told this was one of the best places to try deep dish and it did not disappoint. Staff was super friendly as well! Deep dish Pizza takes ~40 minutes to properly make, but that was made clear to us at time of order. So if you are expecting a quick deep dish lunch, don’t. This thing has more cheese than you can ever imagine, a small deep dish is more than enough for two people. I can see why people would want to order a larger one but trust me a small will do, or even a personal pizza. We ate around 230pm for a late lunch and barely had room for breakfast the next day.

The hype doesn't disappoint. Jam packed but worth it. Service was little slower than expected. Had an all veggie and chicken mushroom deep dish. First timers beware that couple slices are enough for a person. Taste doesn't disappoint at all. Highly recommend dropping here if you visit Chicago.

The reason I gave this place 5 stars is because it’s what you would expect of a famous pizza joint. It was chaotic and loud and crowded. The deep dish pizza was delightful. We had a personal deep dish each and split the Parmesan fries - all the food was excellent. With the crowd, our server forgot ketchup we asked for but we understood. The restaurant itself was pretty cute. I definitely recommend giving it a try!

Shawn our server was top notch. I would come just for his amazing service. This place is a must eat on your to do list for Chicago. It is right near the Hyatt Regency where we stayed for a conference. I could have eaten here every night!!! Well worth the wait you won't be disappointed. The Deep Dish was made well and tasted fresh. As a NJ Pizza and NY pizza person this to me is better. I love Pizza and this place is AMAZING 👏🏾

We took a detour on our family vacation specifically to come to Giordano's to try out their Deep Dish Pizza. It was AWESOME!!! It easily fed our family of six and everyone was impressed with the taste and flavor. It does take 45 minutes to cook once ordered, but we knew that ahead of time & ordered & went & checked out the Chicago Bean & came back & picked it up. We ate in their outdoor area and loved it! If you're looking to try some awesome Chicago Deep Dish Style Pizza, this place is the place to go! Be ready for some awesome pizza! My kids said it tasted a bit like Lasagna (a good thing!) because it was so thick. It was incredibly tasty and was totally worth the 3 hour detour on our trip to come & visit. The Chicago Bean was cool too & is within walking distance. We'd come here again!

So I went back that evening and was given a refund for the pizza that had mushrooms & paper in it and a apology. I'm just convinced good customers has been lost when places like this expand. But it was enough to increase my 1 to a 2 star. ----- Original Review---- Being World Famous don't exempt an establishment from practicing good customer service or proper food handling! We were looking forward to our trip to Chicago to enjoy of course the pizza but not only was the pizza not correct but when brought to the waitress attention I was told its not that bad but you're pizza will be on us... first lie! I ordered no mushrooms...it had mushrooms! Since in her opinion it wasn't a lot I was given a 20% discount for them making an error and not correcting the problem. My pizza was served lukewarm...I didn't come 3k miles to wait 30mins for lukewarm food. The waitress was not attentive...we ran out of our beverage and it was not refilled. We had to all twice (like she forgot) for a refill. When she finally remembered we had already paid and pizza was boxed so she asked if we wanted in a Togo cup. I reheated my pizza when I got to the hotel only to take one bite and find PAPER in the PIZZA!!! I thought this is by far more then I can handle so I called to speak to a manager... only to be interested by a Lea as to why I'm calling. She then say both managers are busy she'll take my name/ number to call me back! DON'T GO TO THIS ONE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE WE'VE EXPERIENCE SINCE BEING IN CHICAGO.

Be prepared for a long queue, once you are in you can place your order for the pizza but still it took 60min for us to get it after being seated. We ordered bbq chicken deep dish pizza, garlic bread and Caesar salad. To be very honest after such a long wait I had high expectations but the pizza was just a cheese filled crust with very few chicken cubes, it wasn’t worth the hype. The garlic bread was good and Caesar salad was mediocre. Service, staff and ambience was nice.

I loved this place! A resident of Chicago suggested we visit this place so we could try the best pizza in Chicago. I ordered a cheese deep dish pizza,10 inches and I had enough to each for three meals! I loved it so much. When I first saw it, it wasn't very promising. For s cheese pizza, I didn't see the cheese, just the sauce. When I cut a slice, there was an overwhelmingly amount of cheese!!

Our hotel staff recommended Giordano's, and it didn't disappoint. The day we were there, it was crowded, and there was a 30-minute wait for a table, but it was worth it. We had The Special deep dish small pizza, which was more than enough food for us.

I heard it’s Chicago best deep dish pizza. Tastes just good. Service is really very good, but making process takes lot of time. It took 45 min just for the order. In the mean time we ordered the cheese triangles and cheese garlic bread with mango tranquilla. Over it’s 1st time experience and okay for me that’s all.

I had the opportunity to visit Giordano’s in Chicago and from the moment I walked in, I received excellent service from all the staff. I came here to try their famous Deep Dish Pizza and ordered one with extra anchovies. I must say the flavor was delicious, although I have an observation about the crust. The crust was not what I expected; it was quite thick and a bit tough. It wasn’t crispy, but rather dense. However, overall, the experience was good. The pizza is served like a sort of pie, which I suppose requires a thick and sturdy crust to hold the sauce and all the toppings. I paired my pizza with a nicely chilled beer, which was a perfect complement. Overall, I enjoyed the place and would recommend it, perhaps to try a different type of pizza. However, this particular one wasn’t the best I’ve had. Next time, I would opt for something more classic.

Chicago Style Pizza at it's Best!!! Of course, I had to go to Giordano's while in Chicago and get myself some of their epically delicious pizza. Let me tell you something; Giordano's delivers some of the best pizza I have ever had. I opted for their "thin crust" style pizza with the Meats and More Meats toppings. I came out fresh, hot, and smelling of all the wonderful things that make pizza so special: melted cheeses and sizzling meats. The sauce and the dough were pleasantly balanced, while the cheese was bold and the meats succulent. I enjoyed ever bite of that pizza to its last. To pair with my pie, I ordered a specialty cocktail, the Cherry Rootbeer Fireball. 10/10 for Giordano's, I will most certainly be back when I return to Chicago. Cheers!!!

We went here on a very busy day with an event happening in Millennium Park and a parade closing all the streets. Understandably, we signed in to a wait list, waiting 35 min for a table for 4. But staff was well organized and punctual to said time and all though they have encountered with many people that day in different mood, they were very professional and friendly. They informed us of waiting times for food upfront and they delivered. Food was absolutely delicious. They have a good selection of options for gluten free food. It was a great experience.

As a first timer in Chicago, I had a very disappointing experience here. Undercooked pizza that after 1 hour of wait, was barely room temperature, overfilled with bad cheese and frozen tomato sauce, and minimum amount of pepperoni. All of the above makes the pizza worth less than $10 while they charged $25 for a small size. The chopped salad was okay. I wouldn’t recommend this as a deep dish pizza experience as it was one of the worst pizzas I’ve had in my life. Sorry to say.

  • 4/5 Veronica P. 1 year ago on Google
A staple deep-dish pizza in Chicago. The pizza was good, but nothing I would rave home about. I think I would have enjoyed it more had the crust been slightly more dough-y. I've had other deep dish pizzas where this was the case, but this pizza crust was on the drier side. I also could have used more cheese on my personal cheese pizza :) The minestrone soup tasted like canned soup :/

It was good. I ordered the deep dish pizza. It was good but I wasn't blown away. Also it took a long time to come out. Beers and drinks were good. Vibe was good. Staff were friendly and attentive.

First time tried Chicago's famous deep dish pizza. It's amazing. Long waiting time, pizza came after like 45 mins as they told, but it was worth waiting.

Our first place to eat when visiting Chicago. We ate at the bar to avoid the wait. We found out our bartender was a Dallas Cowboys fan and we had good conversations about the Cowboys. My fiance ordered a Meat and More Meat personal deep dish pizza with pepperoni, sausage, bacon, and salami. She loved it. I ordered the personal Chicago Classic deep dish pizza. Perfectly cooked! They do advise you it can take up to 45 minutes to cook the pizzas, but we got ours within 30 minutes. We also got the fried mozzarella triangles and that was really good as well! Im glad our trip to Chicago started off right with good food!

Came here on a friend's recommendation for the deep dish pizza. (I mean, I've crossed the Pacific ocean and made my way to Chicago... So this has to be a must do.) Staff is friendly and competent and able to advise me. Was here somewhat early so it wasn't crowded yet, which is nice. Overall, food is excellent. Had the one person lunch special with a side of garlic fries. The pizza itself was more or less what I expected (from the concept), though was pleasantly surprised at the generous amount of sausage

Giordano's Pizza exceeded my expectations. A couple people said it was their favorite so my son and I decided to give it a try and we were not disappointed. The server was friendly and attentive. We ordered the half and half small with classic Chicago on one side and bacon chicken BBQ on the other, and it was absolutely delicious. The pizza came out hot and fresh, and it beat the other place we tried by a mile. Although it takes about 40 minutes to prepare, the server informed us beforehand and it was well worth the wait. We arrived at 1:30 pm and the place was packed, but we were seated right away as a party of two. I highly recommend Giordano's Pizza for anyone looking for a great pizza experience in town!

The moment we entered the place we saw smiling happy faces. As if they were very happy to see us at 10:45PM! It was a great atmosphere, happy staff, great service! Vicky our waitress was super nice. She's attentive of our needs while dining in. From the refill of our drinks (we never had an empty glass), to napkins, and serving our food. The Food was always great at Giordano's! The Best Pizza in the world! Don't forget the delicious selections of drinks!

First time eating a deep dish pizza and it was good. Being from California I’m a little bias to thin dough. Great place an awesome service. Will visit again to try different types of dough. Would definitely recommend.

It takes 45 minutes to bake the Deep Dish pizza but it's worth the wait. I was travelling alone and I couldn't finish it all by myself but this is something that you must have when you are in Chicago! Make sure to have data on your phone as you need to see the menu online.

  • 4/5 Shashank S. 6 months ago on Google
We recently dined at Giordano's and was blown away by the scrumptious garlic bread and mouthwatering deep dish pizza. The flavors were exceptional, leaving me eager to return. However, I must deduct one star for a minor letdown in the waiter's response. She seemed very eager to let us go. Despite this, the overall experience was delightful and the food alone makes it worth a visit!

  • 5/5 Jeannie T. 6 months ago on Google
Thoroughly enjoyed our deep dish pizza experience here. These pizzas are piled high and stuffed with ingredients if you order more than the classic cheese. Waitress told us about 25-30 minutes for the pizza so we ordered appetizers and drinks to start. All wait staff were attentive and quick to serve. Menu is online, scan a QR code instead of an actual paper menu. The servings are full and hefty so come hungry. The cheese pull game is ON here. And the baked cookie dessert was worth the stomach space.

Went for famous deep dish in here with my family. Delicious deep dish pizza with beer sounds tasty right? I brought my parents to try Chicago’s signature food before they leave to San Francisco. Had two medium pizza, One chicken Alfredo deep Dish pizza & super veggie deep dish pizza and mini Mushroom deep dish.

Excellent pizza! I got the classic with sausage instead of pepperoni. Soooo good. True deep dish pizza and stuffed with lots of cheese. Have to try this place. I also had the fried calamari and was so fresh and tasty.

There are a couple of factors in to why this place is not 4 stars. First I'm from out of town and wanted to try this place as it boasts Chicago deep dish pizza. Upon arrival staff was friendly but waiters did not greet my table for a while and took even longer to bring out refreshments. Upon ordering appetizers, a regular pizza and a deep dish, not once were we informed or warned about the wait time of the deep dish. Drink were not even refilled until the deep dish arrived, had we known of the wait the regular pizza could have been served in the mean time. While there may be a lot of repeat customers, I feel the wait time on deep dish should be announced often and always when this item is ordered. All in all while the food itself was delicious, the service left much to be desired.
