I've been there twice this season and a lot has changed. Due to Covid they are restricting capacity. 100 people are allowed in the main pool and 30 people are allowed in the baby pool. The diving pool has water in it but it hasn't been open on either of my visits. They call a rest break every hour and everyone must get out and get in line again if they want to keep on swimming. There is always a long line. It's still free and you don't need to show an ID. The 18+ sunbathing deck is closed off and all lounge chairs have been removed. Lounging is strongly discouraged in order to allow more patrons into the pool. Bags are allowed and they aren't spraying you down with a hose when you enter like they did a few years ago. They have lockers on site so bring a lock if you are concerned about your valuables.

I use to go to this pool as a kid. We had to wear swim caps which kind of sucked but going to this pool now you dont have to wear them and OMG all the girls with long hair not even tied up ... when your swimming you just feel the hair that has fallen into the pool touching you. So gross. I suggest everyones hair should be tied into a bun. Or bring back swim caps.

Nice main pool, max depth less than 6', but issues with changing areas. Temperature of water can be chilly at times. Stone age bathrooms and showers. Besides an outdoor bench, no place to sit and change at Mens. Women's has one handicap stall to sit and change. Lockers are available just bring your own lock. NO BAGS allowed on pool deck. You will be asked to leave your things elsewhere. Towels, hats, water bottles, (no pool toys) except dumbbells and flip flops/water shoes allowed. Entry Gates monitored at all times. Note: multiple diving boards and dive platforms available in adjoining deep 10' pool.

Never been until today but I will absolutely be back. The staff (Jasper and Rhonda) were really friendly and helped me when I had questions. The kids LOVED the wet area playground!

Tried going twice today. Got turned away the first time and told to come back hours later for, family swim time. Returned at family swim to be told I cannot keep my toddlers travel bag in the fenced pool area. Where do I keep his water? My phone? Do I have to drag a toddler away from the fun pool every time we need something? Makes taking a toddler to a pool nearly impossible.

The facility is always extra clean and Ms. Rhonda Trice does a wonderful job keeping the women's area clean. I love this pool because it always smelled like bleach and I have seem Ms. Rhonda mopped the floors. Compare that to other parks and its a no for me. I truly enjoy my summer in Portage Park!

My husband and I were turned away during “family swim” hours. We are a family. We don’t have children. The pool was empty.

It as a toodles water play area, swimming pool and separate trampoline pool all in one place(just check time for open times), and outside a snack or food truck, ++ it's in a park to go and do your sport activities and there's also a playground for kids

Swim hours are not for young children to actually be able to use the pool. So while I didn’t actually swim here, I got to rate it low for my toddlers disappointment ntment.

Never open. The website says 11:00 but they don’t really open until 1:00 and then they close at 4:45. They have such strict capacity limits and terrible hours we haven’t been able to go and we live right next to it. Babies and toddlers can’t usually go at 1:00 as they are usually napping, yet thats when your splash pad for the little ones opens up. Make no sense CPD

Love this place. Beautiful pool up to 6 inches, I wish they did more open swims as they switch every hour they have parking the playground is in the proximity of the park they have a field house, I also did a small party here before and as respect for the park pick up after your self and your guest. Beautiful place to bring your family in this decent neighborhood. Love this park and my daughters do too

What you would expect from a public pool. Shallowest end is 4.5 feet, not ideal for smaller kids. You are not allowed to take your bag to the pool area, so bring a lock to leave everything in a locker.

It was good, but I don't get why they have a kids' side and an adult side in the same pool if their both the same beach

Beautiful outdoor pool with 50m lap pool, diving well, and play area. I only wish that it opened up earlier in the summer and that it had longer hours, especially for lap swimming.

the no taking your stuff near pool, and Everybody leave the entire pool area and go outside the gates for 15 minutes out of the hour thing makes this a non-starter now. The facility itself, and staff are great but the new rules imposed on the place make it anything but a fun relaxing outing.
