Today was a fun day to hangout at Hawthorn Mall! The food court only had 2 restaurants. And there is an AMC if you want to watch movies. And in 2024, the Mall will have townhomes outside which will be very exciting!

We visited this mall on New Years Eve with family. It was a pleasant experience. We ate at the food court and let the kids ride the train. It's definitely a family-friendly mall, it has smaller tables for kids and a huge play area. I would return if I'm ever back in the area.

Considering malls are failing left and right this place seems to keep it alive. They are doing construction on the east side I am guessing to add more seems risky during this time, but hopefully it works in the end. I did not frequent this place before Covid, but seem to be here more often now. It is always clean and for the most part I see a lot of stores open not closed as other people have mentioned. Hopefully they can fill up the vacant spots as I would prefer to go out in person and shop instead of just doing Amazon or on line it's just so boring get out see people and be active.

It’s a nice mall but definitely needs more stores. It’s fun for kids to stay entertained. You can find many brand names, beverage stores and salons. The mall also offers many eating joints and book store.

It used to be not too busy. Now it's a ghost mall. It's very sad. Come over, it's safe. Wear your masks, keep distance, but come! Help to keep it afloat. In a tear from now, when the virus will be gone, we won't have place to go to. That would be a pain. Go to mall, it's beautiful.

The leasing agents for the mall stores are extremely rude. I was considering this location for a store until I contacted one of their extremely rude and difficult agents. For a mall that's pretty much closed up with few stores left I was surprised, all I did get from this person was how "great" Hawthorne 2.0 is going to be etc etc. Whatever that means.. after seeing what looks like a giant prison they're building next to the mall maybe that's what she was talking about?

Many things changed for good, visited after long time… More visits - this place is happening, lot of new things.

Was a bit quiet when I visited, it looked really empty and is understandable because of this uncertain times but overall there are really nice stores and lots to see, I hope everything gets better and the plans to expand it looks amazing.

What a nice little mall. I do have to praise them for having the best family lounge (bathroom) ever. Came here to meet the Paw Patrol and donate school items. We let the boys play afterwards in the little kid zone. Mad props guys.

Love this mall! Not as crowded as Woodfield mall. Well kept and a decent collection of stores! Have always had a good shopping & entertainment experience here. Love their holiday decorations, the play areas and the can’t wait to see how their 2.0 would be like!

Was there for the Cars and Coffee event. Alit if people and cars. Had a great time there.

Went ti a French bakery there right outside the entrance. Best croissants and sweet potato bread I have ever had. I will definitely be going back. Highly recommended. I will be going back. Fresh fresh fresh!!!

So little left to see in there. I understand that they are amidst change, but two restaurants don't make a food court. It was very peaceful and clean. So it's a good place to walk indoors.

I don't know why but this mall is empty on weekdays. Because the mall is really nice and big. You can find whatever you want. Bunch of brand inside ✔ I liked👍 food court is good too. Variety items. Free and easy parking.

Great upcoming Malls with lot of good new stores being built. The mall has Macys, JC penny, victoria’s, pink, H&M, claims company, dave and busters, shoe stores etc. many more stores are planned to open. Dining court has options bit limited like mc Donalds, taco bell, sabaro. Can be expanded more.

I enjoyed the small it was large and spacious and easy to navigate. The parking lot is not too bad for parking or how far away do you have to park from the door which is a bonus if it is cold. The security guard was friendly when I needed help finding a store. I found every store that I went into to be well-stocked and the employees were happy to be there

It’ll be a 5 star when the construction is done and some of the empty stores are filled again. I like it better than the Mills mall. Great kids play areas, both free and not. Thank you.

Sure.. It's a mall... But I've been coming here since I was a kid. A lot of upgrades in the last 10 yrs! Always clean and plenty to do. There's something to be said for walking around and buying products. I love online shopping, dont get me wrong, but I still come here too, that instant gratification when you find something good on sale always gets me.

Upscale stores, great food court, movie theater, indoor miniature golfing and skating, children play area and they just added an indoor park. Ideal place to spend time, specially during the cold winter months.

We love coming to our Hawthorn mall in Vernon hills with the kids. There are so many things to do and to eat. Hawthorn mall has changed so much for the last few years. And now it’s going to change even more. There are huge changes coming, it’s going to get much bigger and much more exciting for the kids and adults.

Love the stores. It is very family friendly. I often go to the Dave and Busters there.

Most places open, some not and some permanently gone. Food court not doing a good job for covid wouldn't eat there if I were you. Most of the open stores have sales going on and are doing a pretty good job of following cdc guidelines. Mall security guards are checking to make sure people are masked and keep them on

This by far is one of the nicest looking malls. They are always clean and staff and security are always looking to help anyone that needs it

The mall is great, but a bit too big and empty at sometimes. May be a bit pricey but has an excellent variety of food at the food court.

Store was short staffed for service but staff all pitched in to help. I got what I needed on sale and had to leave. Good sales at Macy's but no time to check out other stores.

Me and my friends love to come to this mall. There is always a lot to do here, and it's always clean and never extreamly busy.

This mall is SO dead, I went in the middle of the summer and no one was there. I went with a friend and we were the only 2 people in the mall.There wasn't really anything there either. There are a couple stores but they don't really have options. The best thing in there was a journeys

A nice shopping experience. Hopefully, some.of the vacant spaces will be filled soon. They have a kid's sports place upstairs that is new. I grabbed flyers to give my co workers that have children. Excellent food court with many choices, and you cannot beat the movie theater.

I am newer to the Hawthorn mall in Vernon Hills. I live in Palatine and normally go to the Woodfield mall. I did not feel safe doing my holiday shopping at Woodfield, social distancing was not possible. The mall in Vernon Hills surprised me. Although it is smaller, the city has many of their shopping centers around the mall and I felt a lot safer shopping with less people. I finished my shopping at Macy’s, Hallmark, and Swarovski at the mall, and then went to TJ max and home goods that are both across the street from the mall. The mall was new to me, and I asked one of the security members at the mall for directions to stores, and the young man was very helpful. 10/10 will visit again, very clean, not crowded, and nice atmosphere.

Awesome new center park with coffee/wine/beer kiosk. New Disney art gallery, new handmade soap store, and a great new clothing store called Fashion 5 with super affordable parkas. There's a super cool Elf on The Shelf Santa pop up in Macy's Court too. Love this mall. Especially the wine & beer kiosk!!!

Only real anchor store is Macy's. Great mall, but is declining because of pandemic. Hopefully, it will recover.

This mall isn't exactly full of business, but it still is a great place to shop, have fun, and relax. Specifically, I'd recommend checking out the game store and getting some bubble tea.

This is a smaller indoor shopping mall, but it's a great place to when you're looking to avoid crowds. It's also has an attached AMC so it makes for a good spot to do some shopping and catch a matinee. The mall is also very close to three shopping centers, all located across Townline Road, making it a convenient place for anyone's shopping needs.

Amazing mall. Not busy at all. A few nice lounges, escalators that have their railings sanitized after each rotation, food court with plenty of options, a play place for kids, nice and clean, just a beautiful mall.

The mall is going down hill quickly. Barely any stores and places to eat available. The food court had 5 options and one being cinnabon.

Dined at Maggiano’s Italian restaurant. Had reservations for five people at 7:30 pm. Seated and served promptly. Ordered drinks - cocktails and wine with spinach artichoke dip. Followed with dinner entrees. Service was efficient and friendly. Our waiter was available, helpful without hovering. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Atmosphere was pleasant- restaurant somewhat busy when we were seated but cleared by 9:30 when we left.

The mall is kept very clean and very handicap accessible. They have two large elevators in the mall. So you have away to get up and down floors. Plus the mall is going through a major renovation. Where it's going to be indoor and outdoor shopping.

The mall is still rebuilding. There are many empty stores. But, looking at the images of what it will look like when the construction is done, I will be back. It looks like they have some very nice plans for the mall.

I work with students with disabilities and we have frequented Hawthorn Mall for specific instruction purposes. I have brought my students here on many occasions to practice using a map, making a purchase at a restaurant, navigating to find elevators, escalators, and staircases. Both times, we were targeted by 2 separate mall cops on duty and asked what we are doing. It is very clear that other community patrons are welcome to walk the mall, play in the child play place areas, and make purchases without being questioned by police. This is very clearly discrimination against our group and our students with disabilities. I’m honestly shocked and disgusted that this keeps happening when we come here. Our students have every right to be at the mall just as everyone else does. This is a very very frustrating experience.

Shopping here is like at home but in a store. Very nice selections of stores like men and women's clothing, and many more. The best of quality. You got what you need and enjoy it within. Strolling is good too. Restaurants are awesome too. Beautiful place and the staffs are very friendly. They are observing health protocols and of course the place is very clean. I am enjoying this place when I need to unwind from the stress of life. Just come here and you will experience a stress-free moment. Parking space is not so crowded that time. I will recommend Hawthorn Mall to all of my relatives and friends who are very fond of shopping. Buying relieves stress. Let's shop!

Terrible experience with playing Maxine’s for kids and automated photo picture making machine. No refunds. Machines are not working while lights are on. Photo machine does not allow to cancel photo after you swiped your credit card and set too high for kids to be captured.

We take our little one to Gymboree but just found out they're permanently closing. I'm a bit saddened by the news..

I wish malls weren't a dying entertainment space! It's a clean mall with a fun play zone for toddlers. We love the Van's store and getting our hair cut.

So sad to see how empty this mall has become. I’m excited to see the reboot they’re doing, but having only two or three restaurants open in the food court was an unwelcome surprise. I hope people return to malls; I have so many fond memories of coming here as a child, and of coming here in the early 2000s during the prime of what I can only refer to as “mall culture.” Minus one star for the depressing food court, but otherwise clean, well-maintained, and friendly mall personnel.

It was really fun and clean. I would say there’s almost no where to eat. Like 4 options. But it looks like with the expansion it’ll be more!
