Came in for French toast and it was delicious. I don't like French toast that's super custardy in the middle, so this was great. My friend got the chocolate tower from the brunch menu and I ordered the summer strawberry. We each loved them. They also had a nice selection of teas including 4 caffeine free options. The interior was eclectic and fun. Service was good and very attentive.

Decided to try Bongo Room for breakfast on long weekend trip to Chicago. Right away we loved the atmosphere. They were very welcoming right from the start. They have a great and unique menu. We had the Mango Pancakes (which was the special) and the Italian Breakfast Sandwich. Both were perfect! The bread on the sandwich was so good I wanted more to eat by itself. The Mango Pancakes had a whipped lemon cream with it that was heavenly. Their drink menu looked amazing and will definitely try it next time. Can’t wait to visit them again.

This place seems to be very popular. Was almost full at 11am on Sunday. QR code menu. Special dishes on weekends. I chose regular omelette- constructor. Big portions, fare price. Latte was really good. Friendly staff. I was happy to see automatic hand soap dispenser and dryer built-in to faucet. Interesting feature. Recommended.

One of my roommates and I came here for the Labor Day weekend brunch 😉! It was a bit of a wait (30 min+), but totally understandable. They only take walk-ins to begin with, so it’s okay if you come here without reservations! It seemed like they renovated the place — I’ve noticed a brighter ambience! We shared sweet & savory dishes (pancakes and omelettes) and our vote goes to the beef omelette!! 🥞&🍳 Our strawberry hot cakes were good too, but the omelette was more flavorful in my opinion. We will definitely be returning for different brunch options!

A great spot to go to fro Breakfast/lunch, will have to return to try out brunch! Service was good & so was the food. Had red velvet pancakes, a breakfast burrito & Caesar salad. The salad was banging! Nice n fulfillin! The red velvet pancakes were good but seemed to go dry after a few mins, needed more sauce. So glad they were open for breakfast on a Monday.

Average simple breakfast spot. Nothing too complicated or impressive. If you want a low-key breakfast this is for you. I had eggs & pancakes. Nothing to complain about The service was also great.

Went to for Brunch and had a great experience. Food came extremely quickly, and had a delicious eggs Benedict with potatoes. Another time got the steak Benedict and was also great. Only negative is it tends to be extremely loud when busy, more so than typical restaurants.

Fantastic breakfast / brunch joint, menu does get into some lunch items but the breakfast items are where its at. A lot of really nice and unique flavors on the menu, portions are good, and they have one of the best omelets that I've ever had in the city. The fact that it's open 7 days is nice but my one gripe that kept me from going sooner is that it opens at 830a and I tend to go out much earlier.

A friend and I got lunch and it was amazing! I got the white chocolate pretzel pancakes. The pretzels gave them a nice texture. He got their daily special pancakes and loved them. The sides of sausage and potatoes were nice to compliment the sweetness of the pancakes.

Food is always awesome! The staff is amazing! Someone is always walking around pouring coffee ☕️ and cleaning off your table. If you pour a creamer and / or sugar packet, they are even walking by and picking up this garbage without letting it pile up on your table. We love this place!!

The Bongo Room dazzles with its diverse and delectable menu, making every visit a culinary delight. The lemon blackberry pancakes and unique Benedicts are not to be missed, offering a symphony of flavors. Service is consistently friendly, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. While always bustling, the quality of food and service makes it worth the wait. A must-visit for a satisfying breakfast or brunch in Chicago!

Outstanding! We were in town for two days and both days, we had breakfast here. Tow of us split everything on each day: the lemon blackberry pancakes with vanilla cream sauce, a chorizo, potato, and avocado omelette, strawberry rhubarb French toast with almost the same vanilla cream sauce, but with citrus and less vanilla, and the morning sandwich. And they know how to do tea! Good, loose leaf English breakfast in a 12-16 oz pot with its own strainer, and enough milk to last the full pot. All the staff were friendly and attentive, cool art on the walls, and it’s in a great area of town! What more would you want?

Had breakfast here on a Sunday around 11am and were able to sit right away! We got the BLT Benedict, croissant sandwich, and the beef & cremini omelet. All of the food was very good! The butter on the omelet was a nice touch. We also ordered mimosas which were made very well.

The Bongo Room is a fun place to grab breakfast or brunch! It is busy, but the decorations are appealing to the eye and very interesting! The dish I had is the Strawberry Shortcake Pancakes and it was delicious! Highly recommend it if you like sweet things, and it's not overly sweet!

Not planning on returning. I have not been to bongo room in a couple of years, and I guess I didn’t come to this location last time. Let’s start with the host. He looked utterly irritated at our arrival. One of our guests was 75 and thinks his phone is broken but just struggles with QR codes, so we often ask for a paper menu. When asked if they had paper menus, he kind of made a face and said, “Ask your waiter.” Dude, the restaurant is tiny. Get the menu or say you don’t have them - you’re the host. The service was nice. Food came out hot. Restaurant was not full, yet still noisy with the bus boys dropping (literally dropping) dishes in a stand right next to the tables. The most noise came from them. Of the food. There were four of us, nobody was particularly overwhelmed by the food. I had the lobster Benedict. I thought there would at least be a chunk of lobster in it - it was all shredded meat. And then the toilet broke. After brunch went up to use the toilet. They just said, “It’s broken, but here’s where you can go nearby.”

Really great brunch selection! My boyfriend and I sat at the bar. There is a good amount of seating. They offer cocktails, didn't have any but they looked tasty. I got the BLT eggs Benedict, ir was absolutely delicious! My boyfriend got an omelet, which he also loved. There was a lot of food with both dishes, which was great because we were super hungry. I'd definitely come here again!
