I swear they do Detroit deep dish better than Detroit. Tall cheesy crust with the beautiful cup and char pepperonis. The sauce has such a nice balance that's light and sweet. The dough is nice fluffy. Probably one of the best pizzas I've had in a long time. The nutter butter cake. I don't even have words for it. Just get it if they have it. 11/10 would eat here twice in the same week. Edit: I'm adding more to this review because I think this place deserves more credit. Please don't stop buying these magnificent cakes from Pie, Pie My Darling. These are some top tier desserts. Even if you have leftovers of this pizza it retains the delicious gooey look the next day. Now if only they offered a Detroit slice to go 🤔

Great atmosphere, great pizza, and excellent service. My first time having. Detroit style pizza and it was amazing. Their wood fired pizza is equally as good. Drinks are pretty good as well. Trivia on Thursday nights as well which was fun.

Familiar only with Paulie Gees Wicker Park location before, we were amazed by the Detroit style pizza! Ordered the U.S. Pizza Cup Winner, Netflix and Chilee, and a seasonal special. Finished off dinner with housemade carrot cake. Recommend ordering one pie for every 2 people. Pizza was prepared quickly and service was amazing!

Went for a late night Friday dinner with my boyfriend and this place did not disappoint. Our hostess, server, and even the bartender were SUPER cheerful and recommended some great options. I had a margarita and the vegan Fast Car which was DELICIOUS! I loved the ricotta dollops. The taste was so decadent! I just wish the cheese was warm as it was served cold. However, the flavors and the crust were amazing! Probably some of the best thin crust pizza I’ve had in Chicago. My boyfriend had the Detroit style pepperoni pizza and literally gobbled down the whole thing! He can’t wait to come back! Date night approved and excited to visit another time.

I love this place. Having first experience their US Cup pizza in November 2021, this pizza has been on my mind ever since. I'm typically not a fan of Detroit style pizza (especially in Chicago), but this particular pizza is like nothing else. It has layers of flavor; sweet, savory, salty, bite, cheese, meat.... all at once. But then there's the other sensory notes: heat from being fresh out of the oven, the light and airy dough, the crunch of the crust, and the coolness of the fresh creamy cheese on top. It takes you on a journey of both taste and texture. A journey that is one of a kind and leaves an amazing impression. One square slice, and you'll will never forget it, which will only make you want to come back for more.

Exquisite pizzas! I think I’ve found my best overall pizza place. I’ve been on a pizza kick around the city lately and Paulie Gee’s Logan Square so far I think takes a top spot. I’m thinking this is the best Detroit style pizza and maybe even Neapolitan style pizza. Unfortunately they don’t do by the slice, so there are better places to go if you’re looking by the slice. We got two pizzas: a Detroit-style “US Pizza Cup Winner” and a Neapolitan style “vodkaroni”. Both had me so happy, they were incredible. Can’t wait to eat more of them again. I don’t think I’ll ever go and not get the US Pizza Cup Winner. The staff was fine and the interior is quite large, great for groups. The seating benches and metal chairs are a bit uncomfortable. Some might be put off by a little (deserved?) arrogance (confidence?) I think that comes across in a few areas. Things like “Substitutions and modifications on pizzas kindly declined” and the fact that parmesan, sauce on the side, and chili oil/flakes all cost extra. I think one of the wonderful things about pizza generally is how egalitarian it can be, how we can create and order exactly the type of pizza that meets the needs of our table. There are guardrails at Paulie Gee’s. I’m fine with that since I thoroughly enjoyed what I ate. I’m prepared to give away some freedom of choice when the food is on point, but I would not be so forgiving if that were not true. It’s pizza, not a Michelin starred tasting menu…BUT these pizzas do seem to be engineered and thought out well. Perhaps asking people not to screw with them is justifiable. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Took the family here for dinner. The staff was extremely friendly and shared her personal favorites from the menu. We ordered salad and pizzas, both the traditional thin, crispy crust as well as the “Logan Squares”. Seriously, chefs kiss delicious. The cocktails where great as well, couldn’t be happier with my experience.

stopped in randomly thinking we could grab a quick slice like at the wicker park location, but it’s more of a sit down situation here. we sat at the bar and ordered the “us pizza cup winner” detroit style pizza and it’s insane. the onion jam, cold tomato sauce, hot honey combo is 10/10. highlyyy recommend and will definitely come back for it! the servers at the bar were also super attentive and nice. overall a really chill experience with great pizza :)

Visited Paulie Gee’s on a very busy Saturday evening but the staff was professional, collected and so accommodating! The Detroit style pizza with bacon jam is a good option for anyone who embraces a variety of textures and flavours in a dish. The Paulie Cheese pizza (pictured here too) is a really great take on the four-cheese pizza, love that it has parmigiano reggiano!

Great pizza, tried both styles they had and both were absolutely delicious. The Daniela spinaci was light and flavorful definitely my favorite of the two I tasted but they were both good. Good service and cool vibe, I like how you can see them making the pizza right in front of you

Stopped here as part of a pizza tour. The Detroit style pizza was the single best pizza I have ever had! Drizzled with spicy honey, fresh tomatoes, crispy pepperoni's and the crust could be sold in a bakery. Worth a trip out of your way. Can't wait to go back.

YIKES! Was hopeful on this place because they had Detroit style. Got one Detroit style and one wood fired specialty pizzas. The Detroit was passable, no where close to the best I’ve had, but good. However, the wood fired was inedible and uncut.. surely it was just a mistake, but when you combine the horrible crust with a worse presentation, not cutting the pizza is just the icing on the cake. Salad was good and order was complete and timely, though not inexpensive.

They are well known for Detroit styled pizza - which taste amazing. I was there in a Thursday evening as my friend is organizing a trivia party in Paulie Gee‘s. The servers are friendly and attentive although it was full house during my visit. Take note that 20 % tips have been included in your bill !

Been here multiple times and have had quite an experience each time. Some waitresses are friendly whereas others are extremely rude. Their US pizza cup winner is always a delicious choice. Their quarter special of bbq pizza is very tasty with a little spice to it. I was hopeful with the netflix and chilee pizza however the chili crisp on there had a very unpleasant bitter flavor. It made the pizza really unpleasant. If you're looking for a dessert, the cookie skillet is a good choice to satisfy that sugar craving. I do wish they had some appetizer options or slice options as sometimes a whole pizza is just too much. Overall, although service is hit or miss, the Detroit style pizzas are good.

Go to Paulie Gee’s for brunch!! My husband and I both had incredible meals today. The breakfast tacos were so tasty and we loved that there were multiple vegan options on the menu! The vegan breakfast sandwich and pancakes were delicious. The staff at Paulie Gee’s were super nice and friendly too! So glad they are offering brunch now, I definitely recommend giving them a try!

A dear friend emphatically told me to try this spot in Logan Square, and said it was his favorite Detroit Style Pizza in Chicago. After paying visit, I gotta say that this D-Style is in a superior class of it's own. When it comes to the service (s/o to Anna who is all-star level), the atmosphere (ambience with space), and the quality of the food, this is a trifecta. The pizza has the right balance of flavor, a feathery dough, and a well-executed caramelized crust border that's smoother than crossing the Blue Water Bridge on a Sunday night. Highly recommend, and I shall return to explore the menu even deeper!

The pizza is good. The crust is standard good. It’s not crispy and it’s not soggy. Tasty sausage and tasty parmigianno Reggiano cheese. I didn’t like that the QR code menu asks for your phone number and name. And there are no physical menus. I almost didn’t bring my phone. 20% tip is automatically applied, but there’s a note on the table about that. Big place, quiet on a Sunday evening. Friendly but slow service.

THIS should be Chicago's Pizza! Forget Giordano's and LouMalnati's. It's an award winning pizza on its own and blew me away! Wait staff was super friendly and a chill atmosphere. Worth a visit or two or three!

I don't know if it's because I didn't order the right pizzas or because it was a bad day, but my pizzas tasted really average, despite seeing others having more positive experience with Paulie Gee's. I see photos of Detroit-style pizzas posted and they looked a lot more pleasant than mine. But regardless of what I got, I would expect it to be good, so unfortunately I can only give Paulie Gee's a 3 based on my experience. Delboy did not taste like it had fresh mozzarella or that it had Parmigiano reggiano to the point that I could barely taste any cheese. I mostly tasted tomato sauce and piccante, and the piccante's saltiness made it taste almost just like pepperoni in my case. It also looked very much like pepperoni. Netflix and Chilee had a very interesting taste, as the pickled pineapple provided both saltiness and sweetness. I had to think for a moment whether I liked it or not, but then decided that I did, so I proceeded to eat more. The topping to crust ratio was slightly imbalanced for this one, containing a bit too much crust with not enough red onions or pickled pineapple. Finally, the Nothing Com-Pears pizza contained a good combination of pears, gorgonzala, and white balsamic vinegar. I have had pear and gorgonzala crostini before elsewhere and thought it was a surprisingly good combination, so I enjoyed that pizza. Having the green onions on top was a bit surprising, as I was probably expecting arugula more, but it wasn't a bad thing since green onion had a more mild taste. One plus I will mention is that since my friends and I went on a Monday night, we were offered a specialty pizza, a can of beer, and a Benchmark shot, all for just $15, so that was very nice. Although I don't personally drink too much alcohol, I believe this benefit demonstrated how Paulie Gee's would like their consumers to enjoy their pizza, so I played along. In addition, service was great! Our server was attentive to our needs and took the time to explain our Monday special deal as well because we had questions since it was too good to be true, so I appreciated her patience.

A huge fan of the collectible decor that’s what got me in the door 😁 Not the biggest fan of the food or it’s quality. The pizza I ordered was soggy and topics were sliding off I’m aware it was busy so it might have been rushed. My partner’s pizza was toastier but we were surprised to see the bill considering the portions of our food and the tip was automatically included. I wouldn’t have paid $7 for a caned kombucha was under the impression it was alcoholic 😓 my bf asked for a side of pepper flakes but we were given a tiny portion of giardiniera which we later noticed we were charged a dollar for. I know inflation is getting insane in the city but felt like this place couldn’t run out of ways to up charge/tax their clients

Very loud on a Friday night to the point where you can’t really talk to each other. Food was excellent though. The Neapolitan pizzas were reasonably large with a creative and fresh mix of ingredients and flavours. The Logan squares Detroit style pizzas were very large. Don’t think I saw a single person leave without a take out box.

The pizza was delicious, and the server was very attentive. I recommend the US Pizza Cup Winner! The soft drinks were all bottled or canned, so their price was a bit steep considering no refills. The pizza is worth the price though.

A gem in Chicago where you can get some amazing artisan pizza as well as a traditional deep dish. The Vodka sauce pizza is simply amazing! In addition to the excellent pizza, the staff is simply amazing. It was a spectacular dinner and now my "Go To" for pizza in Chicago!

The US pizza cup winner (I think that’s what it’s called?) is incredible, really rich in texture and the honey gives it a surprisingly sweet and smooth texture. Very lovely. I will say though - this place makes it a little difficult for takeout. Would’ve loved to place an order over the phone so I could ask questions about the menu, and some of these apps like Grubhub make it confusing enough to the point where not the entire menu appears to be available.

Food is incredible always- but what keeps me coming back is the service. Zach, our favorite server, is an absolute sweetheart- my boyfriend and I truly look forward to our Mondays every single week. Pizza is one thing but the conversations & vibe is unmatched. Thank you always!! <3
