Read the negative reviews before going. The bartender, a middle aged white man, was the most racist individual my wife and I have ever seen. We visited this place on Friday - 08/19, slightly after midnight. He first refused to serve us tequila because "he didn't have any", and purposefully ignored us for the 10 minutes following our enquiry. He was very calmly engaging in conversations with other customers sitting right next to us at the bar, while we were clearly trying to get his attention. After what we thought were moments of banter, he did finally pour us a drink of tequila, looked at us right in the eyes, and immediately dumped it in the sink with a stern look. Very shocking experience. A high level of racism I never thought I would experience in this part of town. I advise everyone to stay away.

Terrible. I was excited to come back here because i used to come here all the time when I lived on Taylor . It’s horrible now . And very racist. Don’t waste your money here guys. I wasn’t even offered a menu or anything. And the bartender Kevin told me the kitchen was closed and the non black woman next to me was able to get food. Sad . This place is not the same .

What a perfect Chicago bar! Great atmosphere and great people. There was a HS football game behind the tavern and people were in and out celebrating. Word to the wise… DO NOT DRINK the local juice. 🥴😩😠

I recently had the pleasure of eating at Lil Joe's Tacos and I'm so glad I did! The food was absolutely delicious, with bold, flavorful ingredients that really elevated the tacos to something special. The service was friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was fun and inviting. I will definitely be back to Lil Joe's Tacos again soon! Highly recommended!

Located in the Little Italy section of Chicago, Little Joe's describes itself as a 1946 saloon reminisce of your Italian family basement. It has been a neighborhood fixture and when new owners came in 2020, they retained the integrity of the bar but added backyard patio, new food menu and new drinks. Little Joe's is a must visit for tourists and while famous Chicago Italian actors, Joe Mantegna or Dennis Farino might not be sitting at the bar, you can look at the door and see what famous Italian Chicagon walks in.

Nice bar, one of the oldest in Taylor street. The bartender was nice, the music good, the Mexican food tasty.

Cool small local bar. Fun games like cards against humanity and connect 4. Food selection is small but amazing. GET THE CHICKEN SANDWICH! One of the best in town. Seriously cool neighborhood spot tucked away from the chaos. The bartender is approachable and friendly.

Hate giving them 2stars....wanted less! The places quaint and nice, food was "very good" , the bartender was an excellent guy.....but.... ANY BARTENDER WON'T TURN THE DANG MUSIC OFF (cuz he don't like sports) *DURING THE BEARS GAME SHOULD GET THROWN OUT OF TOWN!

My son and I visited again this weekend and again it was great! The tacos dipped in birrrea was delicious. Also the shrimp tacos were very good. Great service and atmosphere. We will be back.

KG treated us so well. We stopped here before a wedding reception because it was close by, but it ended up being the best choice! He was so kind and generous and the bar itself was such a classic dive bar with an amazing atmosphere.

Great 'little' place to go. The bartender (Samantha) was fantastic, as well as the manager/owner (not sure of Kevin's title). Everyone there were very friendly and easy to talk to. The tacos were absolutely amazing (we had the fish and shrimp styles). Prices, on everything, were very easy on the wallet. My wife liked the place as much as me. We will be back often. Don't change anything!

When you want to simply spend time with friends and enjoy a beverage, nothing beats Little Joe's on Taylor and the food they serve. Since the new owners took over, SICP grads Alexander Haried and Ryan Phelan, there is a fresh, bright spot on Taylor and Morgan Streets in Little Italy. The outside patio is inviting and perfect for warm weather group gatherings. The bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable and like to innovate with cocktails and new brews. They even hold Trivia and Bingo nights! It's a place reminiscent of "The Good Old Days" only better.

This is the kind of neighborhood bar that I love. It's got history but with a new ownership group running it for the past several years, they've refreshed it a bit while keeping the old-school charm. The staff is friendly and pours great cocktails. While I don't touch the stuff, Malort seems to have a noted presence here that helps fuel the fun. Who doesn't love to see the face of someone who just downed a Malort shot? The outdoor patio is great in the summer and last but not least, the Mexican food they serve is top-notch.

Great food, great drinks, great people. Kevin, Matt, and Michelle are the best. Order the birria tacos. You're welcome.

They’ve maintained the nostalgia and feel of a neighborhood corner bar while growing with the tastes and preferences of a constantly changing local crowd. Music is on point. This place is awesome.

This should be on your list of things TO DO in Chicago! Kevin, the bartender, was exceptional - the mixed drinks were incredible, they were flavorful in a variety of ways without a sharp alcohol bite. It was way too easy to order drink after drink just to experience the craftsmanship in each drink which lead to a very fun night. You can also enjoy the back patio where they often serve tacos. Connect-4 and other common bar games are also available for your entertainment; however, the true fun is interacting with the wonderful staff. Prices are incredibly reasonable and the atmosphere is so fun. The place feels very welcoming while maintaining a hole-in-the-wall vibe.

Came in last night to celebrate my birthday. Awesome local spot. Small and comfortable, this bar has some of the best music, it's such a fun vibe. You get the feel they don't take themselves too seriously, but they do when it comes to having a good time.

Little Joe’s is an awesome place!! I’m not a big fan of the “club scene” or packed bar where you can’t get a table or hear the person standing next to you, but little Joe’s is just the opposite! Homey warm vibe with great music, bar games, lots of seating and super friendly bar tenders. If you’re anywhere in the area of south loop/little Italy I definitely recommend you stop in!

This place never ceases to amaze me. This place was open on a Monday night which they never are and were serving Jambalaya tonight. It was the most magical thing I've ever eaten in my life. Kudos to you Little Joe's for these cool surprises.

We absolutely loved it here. KG is incredibly well versed in drinks, and while it was slow, he made us several new kinds of drinks that really blew our socks off. Never met a bartender that created new fun things like this guy. 1000% check this place out

Great neighborhood bar with absolutely terrific food. I almost always get the quesabirria tacos. Great place to watch a game or meet with friends. The staff is always friendly. I was impressed when they remembered my friend and me after just one visit.
