A very unique atmosphere. Definitely a place to visit. The food quality was absolutely amazing. Definitely one of the top BBQ restaurants in Chicago land area. There is also a coffee shop in there which is really cool! A coffee shop inside a smoke house! The restrooms were super clean and again very unique looking.

Ordered the sliced briskets, pork belly, pork ribs, broccoli salad, elote style corn, corn bread, & lemonade along with two draft beers from the bar. LOVED the briskets & pork belly (they just melted in your mouth). I also really liked the broccoli salad. Corn and the corn bread, we didn't finish. Overall loved the vibe & the atmosphere. I highly recommend!

Great place for smoked BBQ meats, with a fun vibe. We loved the meats and sides we got to try, especially the ribs! Brisket was also pretty fantastic. Despite hearing so much about the fritos pie, it is essentially nachos, and was the least impressive part of the meal... Personally I would stick to other sides. Still, wonderful place for dinner!

I didn't have much expectations when coming here, but the menu intrigued me, and being curious, I had to try it out. I was able to order a good amount of items by the 1/4 lb, which was pretty nice. The gentleman told me that the smoked turkey was something that should not be overlooked. I took his word and ordered that, and it was definitely one of the best I've had. I also enjoyed the pork belly and cheddar jalepeno sausage. The watermelon salad was a good palate cleanser. Overall, it's worth trying.

Located down an 'alleyway' lined with string lights and shared with a tavern this place offers indoor and outdoor seating. The ordering line gets to be quite long and is worth the wait, they will cut and weigh the meat fresh in front of you. Sides are ordered last and are served in front of you as well then you pay for it all and they hand you the food, no additional waiting required. Sauces/utensils/water is all self serve and there is also a full service bar inside (the bar transactions are separate from the food). The meat is so good there is no sauce needed, highly recommend this place!

Absolutely delicious selection of meats! I'm originally from Texas, I wouldn't call this Texas BBQ, but it is damn good. The corn bread is very massive and comes with honey butter. The coleslaw has too much vinegar, it's not bad, it's just not for me. It's a bit pricey but it's probably the best bbq in Chicago, so the price is worth it. 😋

Meat lovers, gather here! We had the beef ribs - really tender and one of the best that I have had. Slice brisket was excellent and I could hardly finish the pork ribs. Well worth it. Not the cheapest but for such great meats, no issues for the price point. Highly recommended.

This is a very nice place located in the Market District. It’s a warehouse converted into a restaurant. I had the Wild Child, which is a brisket/pulled pork sandwich. It was very filling. The baked beans were good and the sweet tea was sweet like it’s supposed to be! Loved the low lighted atmosphere in the restaurant. Good place if you like meats! They also have sauces available in Sweet, Gold , and spicy.

The vibe here is great, very southern and there's no way to go wrong on the menu. Beef ribs run out early in the evening but they're worth an earlier arrival. Drinks are....okay, if you're thinking of a cocktail. If a beer is up your alley there's plenty on tap. Best tip: Go for the pastrami.

This was a cool place to eat in West Loop. You order your food then wait for the pager to go off. After that you just go to one of those communal tables to eat. It was a solid place to eat bbq, not the best one I’ve been to in Illinois but very solid. Customer service was good, no complaints. We ordered pork ribs, sliced brisket, potato salad, banana pudding, sausage, pork belly, and brisket salad. They did have brisket salad on the menu before. -pork ribs 5/5 - moist and fell off the bone -sliced brisket 3.5 - could be a little more moist and less salty. -potato salad 5/5 - very flavorful. I loved all of the components going into it. -banana pudding 5/5 - delicious. Made you feel like it was homemade. -pork belly 5/5 - not tough. Easy to cut and good flavor -sausage 5/5 - savory and good -brisket salad ⅘ - it was decent.

LOVE! BBQ fantastic. Fav of the whole family. High-end Counter service for food, with plenty of seating indoor and out. Very large bar. You can order drinks @the bar while waiting in line. Line moves quickly-don’t let long line discourage you. Outdoor seating is set in a very beautiful courtyard w/other fantastic restaurants surrounding. Take the time to look around. Leads to very happening area for after dinner exploring if your there in the evening. Large sharing portions of meat and sides. Picnic table seating in an urban brick, small warehouse-type setting. Busy/boisterous.

If you’re a bbq fan, you have to make this spot a priority! The decor and vibe inside was really unique and fun. It feels like a BBQ joint meets a European town. We really enjoyed the brisket, smoked turkey, and LOVED the pulled pork sandwich. I would skip the pickled veggies and the baked beans. They just weren’t my favorite. But highly recommend this fun spot! It seems especially fun for the holidays. The decor was top notch!

Most tasty sliced brisket and chopped brisket sandwich with hot pickles I’ve ever tried! The meat melts in your mouth and the seasoning is on point! The smoked chicken leg was also great! The spicy pickles and the cornbread were very very good! Although it was very crowded and busy, the service was very fast and friendly. I would definitely recommend to all the smoked meat lovers out there!

Excellent meats and plenty of sides to choose from. The brisket is amazing. There was a lineup at dinner time to order but it was worth the wait. Sitting outside on the alley is a great way to enjoy the meat as well. A little pricey

So this is my 1st time here! Very cool side entrance with outdoor seating. Brisket was probably the best I have ever had, doesn't even need bbq sauce. The Brisket chili is a little spicy but really flavor full and full of meat. Smoked chicken not as smoked as I like it but still spiced well. Overall definitely will come again!

Awesome sliced brisket and chopped brisket sandwich with hot pickles. Smokehouse burger was also great! Potato salad and broccoli salad were very very good! Service was fast and friendly. Will go back soon!

I can’t say enough good things about this place… I’ve been many times and they always manage to impress!! The atmosphere is so cool and fun, reminds me a bit of Austin. The bbq (unlike most places in the Midwest) is truly amazing as well as the sides. Fun to eat inside or outside in the alley over the summer! Do not miss: pastrami, pork belly, elote, corn bread

One of my favorite smoked meat places in Chicago! Ribs, hot link and corns are all very delicious, and this place has a very good vibe. It has both indoor and outdoor seating, and customers just walk to the counter to order meat and side dishes. Would also recommend the coffee store right next to it to complete the lunch!

I love this smokehouse and would revisit again next time I am in Chicago! The ambiance is truly remarkable. Naturally, there's often a substantial wait, but you can occupy yourself by enjoying beverages from the bar, including an extensive array of draft beers. 🍻 The smoked brisket is absolutely sensational, boasting an incredibly tender and succulent texture. I'd also suggest trying the well-seasoned pork ribs – they're fantastic!

It's a chill atmosphere. Orders and service are over the counter. The variety of meats are all delicious and accompanied by tasty sides. They have pretty good craft beer as well. It's a great spot, definitely a must-try.

I loved this place for it's atmosphere and it's uniqueness. I told they guy i don't eat pork, only halal, he immediately changed the board and gloves and knives. He even said the beans had pork, which i appreciated greatly for the heads up. The brisket was definitely smooth. I recommend the brisket and cornbread, it was tender and soft. The brisket i would take home next time and heat it up. The atmosphere is what gets this place a 5

Best BBQ in town! Fulton Market provides you with a lot of high class restaurants, even with Michelin stars…but you mustn’t miss out on this honest and real BBQ! Green Street Smoked Meets has an amazing atmosphere. When you enter, it fells like kind of it’s own world. Romantic and rough, cold (beer) and hot (meat). Impossible to not enjoy it!

Lunch in July 2023 Lovely place and atmosphere! But despite all the positive reviews, I was disappointed with the meats. They were not so tasty, the pork ribs a bit dry and we found gristles in the prime chopped brisket. The coleslaw and macaroni salad were pretty good.

This place has become a staple when I come to west loop and it's a place I love bringing friends. The turkey is my favorite turkey of any BBQ place in the Midwest. All of the meats are great. The cornbread is also amazing. The atmosphere is also very cool, someone please hook me up with their music playlist!

Delicious juicy meats and tasty sides. A little pricey for the portion sizes. I had 1/2 pound pulled pork and the cornbread for $20 without drink. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food. The cornbread was not dry and didn’t even need butter. The brisket was very juicy and tasty. The sausage was super flavorful and the chicken had a bright lemony taste. The restaurant has a casual industrial vibe and is self seating with large picnic style tables. There is outdoor seating as well. There are cobble stone streets surrounding the entrance so spike heels are discouraged.

A fantastic place for smoked meats. The brisket is outstanding and served in large portions. The cornbread is amazing. It's a fun and casual atmosphere and the staff were really friendly. It's a little hard to find but it's worth the effort, for sure.

Hot link is a must try. Meaty and delicious. Ribs are fall off the bone but not mushy. I'm a pull off the bone guy so it's a big thing that I would eat them again. Sauces are tasty the sweet is my favorite. Kind of pricey. Ribs sell by the weight so a slab, 2 links and a tasty cobbless Elote cost $70

Loved this place! Everyone is so friendly and food is delicious! We had brisket, pork belly, pastrami and sausage. Potato salad was also very good especially with the scallion kick. They gave us a shot to try of a bbq fat wash(?!) which was interesting, definitely something I haven’t had before. All in all - recommended if you are in West Loop area!

Very good! I got the Jerk Chicken and the macaroni salad. It was pretty decent. The jerk chicken had so much flavor and was super juicy. The macaroni salad however wasn’t my fav. Could have definitely used more seasoning or something. I love the ambiance in there. Very good for a date night or group night out. Will be returning to try other meats for sure.

Words can’t explain this place. From the walk down the brick alley to the cafe style line you stand in and order your food like a meat counter, it’s all an experience. Then you get to your open style picnic table to experience some of the best BBQ you’ve ever had. The kielbasa and elote corn are standouts for me but there wasn’t a single thing I’ve ordered and didn’t like. Also, this is one of the places I eat at every time I’m in Chicago. Never misses!! There’s also a full bar with some specialty cocktails to choose from as well as some outside seating in the side alley.

Being from Texas, this was one of the best brisket spots I have been to! The pork was also very delicious! As a first timer, you get complementary coleslaw! The lights make it a great location!

First time to Green Street Smoked Meats after a coworker told me about their food. Their Beef rib, cheddar jalapeno link and brisket chili were AMAZING! They had three different bbq sauces to choose from. We did try two of the sauces but I will say their meat does not need any bbq sauce. Everything we order was AMAZING, we can't wait to go back. GREAT Customer service. The two parties in front of us were first timers as well. The guy taking our orders answered questions and explained everything. They have community table, smaller tables and there were some tables outside too.

Ahhhh! Great find. We had the sliced brisket sandwich so we could choose our own sauces…I liked BBQ, he liked the Spicy and the vinegar. Our sides were potato salad, broccoli salad, spicy pickled veggies and the elote. The brisket is to die for and I really loved the broccoli salad and elote. Thursday late afternoon…atmosphere great

Sliced brisket was amazingly tender and juicy! Try their burgers, they are surprisingly tasty!!! Not the best cocktail, but they were really cheap!!! Love the vibe of their outdoor dining tables! It's a great place that if you got a party numbers of people that you want to hang out at

  • 4/5 Troy C. 2 years ago on Google
I had the brisket, pulled pork, pork ribs and pork belly. Sides of slaw and watermelon salad. The meats were amazing. Brisket melted in your mouth and was really flavorful and juicy. The pork belly was just like the brisket. I couldn't figure out what the smoke flavor was but it was amazing. Loved everything on my plate. I gave it one less stat because the cheddar links my friend had was weird. The cheese or something they used was funky and we both like funky cheese and this was a tad funky for us. But overall it was a great place.

Excellent option to grab a quick bite in West Loop. The massive line at 7:00pm on a Friday was intimidating, but it moved quickly and you can grab a drink from the bar while you wait. Service at the counter was efficient and helpful, food is ready right when you order. Plenty of seating both inside and out to accommodate for the large crowd. Big picnic tables for groups. Barbecue was magnificent. I’m convinced there isn’t a bad option on the menu. From the smoked turkey to the “wild child” sandwich, everything was a hit. Elote corn was a home run side dish.

Gathered with bunch of friends and visitors from different state. We got here almost toward the closing time, the only available food was Brisket Sandwich which was very delicious. Dining outside, the weather was chill and cool. We had fun.

I’ve lived in the south, so I know good barbecue. This is the best you’ll get in Chicago. And the ambiance is fabulous.

Excellent place. The food is so so good. We tried the ribs, excellent, the brisket, excellent, corn bread, excellent, and the broccoli salad, excellent. It can be a little pricey but it is in the West Loop so it is to be expected. They have great indoor and outdoor seating. We even got some more bbq to go. :) We would highly recommend this place!
