I can’t believe this is Chicago. Just gorgeous. My kids played for hours in the woods with their friends and I hardly heard a peep from them. Parking is easy, the trails are well maintained and the area seems safe.

Love riding through this area many rise and falls of little hills here. Today took cover under Cicero Ave underpass, as we got stuck in a downpour. We saw a frog, deer chipmunk and lots of birds. Also a little waterfall as we waited the rain to stop or slow down.

Great place for a walk, run, or bike ride. Easily accessible parking. Plenty of deer to spot. Even found a turtle on my last walk. Many take their kids - human or canine - for a walk along the trails, too.

Pleasant place to take a walk. You can follow the paved path or the unpaved paths through the woods and along the river. It's not unusual to see deer, a variety of birds, and little critters like squirrels and chipmunks. It's best to stay on the right while walking so as not to impede the cyclists. Great place to take pics of nature. There is almost always plenty of parking. Walk for a mile or for ten. The path connects all the way up to Skokie lagoons. Happy hiking!

Best trail in Chicago! We rode 40 miles! It goes all the way to the botanical gardens. Most beautiful bike trail ever. It's all paved so it's perfect for road bikes. Perfect to get away from the city and get in touch with nature. Highly recommend! 🌲✨

This forest preserve needs lots of work. The trials are not marked so people make new trails next to each other. Weeds are not controlled and there are no benches or nice spots to take the view. A lot of erosion.

The location is on the north branch of the Chicago River. There's a pleasant trail for easy hiking, jogging, and bicycling. Plenty of parking. A few picnic tables are located slightly off the trail. The trail has a scenic bridge over the railroad.

Had a lovely time biking through the forest preserve. I think there's a dirtbike course somewhere along the path, though I didn't explore it the afternoon I went. It's very shaded and lovely, and biking past all the greenery I quickly forgot I was anywhere near the city.

Really great place to get in touch with nature! There are plenty of well-marked Trails for even an amateur to get up-close-and-personal with the North Branch of the Chicago River.

Hard to believe that it's December and I saw two ducks swimming in the Chicago River. I have counted 9 deer and there are probably more that inhabitant these woods. Always a peaceful place!

This park has a perfect trail for biking! Beautiful woods, beautiful sights, and perfect spots for picnic! Hard to believe, but there are actual deers in the trees around! It's a little hard to find restrooms, but there's one in the most southern point of the bike trail. I love going to this park - it's a great way to chill and rest; nice way to hang out with family.

This north branch trail is great! It goes over 20 miles and has some cool bridges. It is well maintained and mostly a smooth ride. I biked 6.5 to the trail and then over 20 miles on the trail the other day! I had a great time. Sometimes it does get a little crowded but mostly there is a lot of room to be away from everyone. There appears to be great places to hike along the trail too! I've biked this before and will do it again! This is an awesome trail for a nice long ride!

This is the woods where my home is located. I live a block from the entry, and I feel somewhat proprietary. I am constantly disappointed with the poor maintenance and protection of the woods, and I am disappointed in the visitors and the forest preserve. People litter and walk or drive on plants. I have seen groups of kids set trees on fire. The beautiful river that hosts wildlife is full of bottles, cans, paper and even diapers. I am not blaming the forest preserve police. I do not think there are enough of them. I think the rules that protect this land need to be clearer and more prioritized. I also think that weekend nights need stronger protection. This land has potential but is not being prioritized!

The bike trail is good all year round. And those deer are just so friendly. Enjoy a little forest bathing in the city.

I have enjoyed my walks at Forest Glen,North branch trail. Everytime I walk I See someone new. Bicyclists could have better manners tho. There isn't a day that goes by that wildlife is not seen. It is a beautiful and sometimes challenging walk

Small little piece of nature in the city. Situated near a major express way and attached to a greater Illinois biking trail. The 20 mile trail passes along side the north branch of the Chicago river and extends as far north as Waukegan, il and south to the North Park neighborhood in Chicago. It offers multiple elevation

We did my daughter and son in laws wedding here. Busy but never really packed. One other couple with kids celebrating Halloween in costume. Everyone social distance and wore masks. My daughters party was 9 people ibcluding the priest. Simple sweet cermony maybe 20 minutes. Lots of people use for walking purposes. This time of year bathrooms are closed but a porta potty is out there for use. Less then forgot if 25 or 15 no permit is needed. Did have issues with freight train and a metra train during the cermony but got through it. Beautiful day. Not cold and rainy but windy and slight chill. This is Chicago

Great little oasis in the city. Recommend the unplaced paths close to the River. Watch out for broken glass. There have been plenty of parties and bonfires in these woods over the years

It’s a great park with nice and wide bike and waking road. I love spots with fields and picnic areas where everyone can enjoy the happy time together. Especially now in fall season you can spot all kind of amazing colors from green to read, orange and peach like. Fantastic feeling and emotions. Enjoy it!
