This is not the same Golden Dagger it was 6 months ago. New ownership has completely destroyed its reputation as one of the great small clubs in Chicago and reduced it to ash. No more shows, no more community. Rest in peace, GD/TR

sick open DJ decks on some Saturdays! More bars and clubs need to do this because those are some of the best DJs I've heard. it seems to be a specific crowd and type of music sadly but still a great place to bring some beers and friends~

It's is a great little bar for watching your favorite bands live. Reasonable cost beer here considering it is in a great safe neighborhood.

A straight up, no frills music venue to catch some live acts. Solid beer list and pretty dope bartenders. Very impressive sound system for such a small place.

Surprisingly, many night spots in Chicago are closed on Mondays. So doing a little web search, I found out about this place having an open mic night. I decided to check it out. The gathering was a bit young for me -- most people were in their 20's. But the artists performing, who outnumbered the non-performing clientele, were quite good. No table service, but the service at the bar is good. No food, except for bags of chips. This place can be hard to find because of a nearby intersection which joins five different streets.

Quite a drink menu, the Temple of Doom and the gimlet( sage syrup) is a must have. Great selection of non alcoholic beverages as well.

it breaks my heart to say it, but - do not support this place! the new owners have destroyed everything that myself and the former employees worked so hard to cultivate and promote. what was once a safe and welcoming home is now a hole of greed, negligence, misogyny, mismanagement, lack of respect for artists and patrons, and creeps.

Fun atmosphere, good selection of local beers, and I appreciated not being surrounded by tv screens showing sports games. I was there for the open jam and it was so fun watching people get up on stage and improvise music together. Seems like a real community hub for the local music scene.

Nice venue for music groups. More of a standing view than seating. Cozy (smaller) layout. Unusual drinks ( but quite good) and the usual assortment of beers. They opened for the music group but were closed before the time so check to be sure they are open . Bring Covid proof. They are open at 8am daily for coffee too!

Harassed by the gentlemen at the door for no apparent reason. Also did the same to my other friends later in the day. It felt like he was on a power trip and just needed to take it out on anyone. I wont be returning for any reason. If you want to be treated with respect I suggest you find another place to spend your money.

Rad little bar with up-and-coming music and an interesting and inclusive beverage list. Friend tried the NA 'new fashioned,' which was... a valuable experiment, at the least. The place feels like a clean dive bar with intentional and quirky touches. Worth stopping in, even if you're not checking out a show.

Nice little venue off Fullerton & Halsted. Saw Sons of Ra there Sunday afternoon. Nice craft beer selection. No Old Style. They also brew their own coffee. Highly recommend.

I’ve always had a great time coming to shows here. Bartender’s are always nice and make good drinks. Unfortunately, I’ve had two experiences already where the person at the door has been unnecessarily snappy. But other than that it’s a great place for live music and drinks!

Great venue, staff, drinks and music!! Also grateful that they’re the most pandemic conscious venue I’ve seen in the city, I appreciate that I can feel safe and have a great time 😊

Great little venue with good sound. Drinks a bit on the pricey side but still a great little place to see a show

Great little concert venue! Can get up close and personal to the band. Drinks are good too.

Everyone who works here is the best! A team of artists supporting artists and their coffee/drinks/live music schedule kicks butt. Love golden dagger!!

Amazing place to hang out and see local music. There is something going on here every night of the week. They also have a lot of non alcoholic drink options which is always appreciated :)

Came for a concert as my first time at the venue - overall a solid dive bar concert experience with a band I was really happy to see in Chicago. Only negative was the bouncer/ticket checker. No one was outside when I got there, so I walked in. He wasn't standing right inside the door either , so I walked further into the bar. At which point he came rushing at me from the back of the bar, hustled me outside again, and was overall gruff and rude about checking me in as though it was my fault he hadn't been outside or right by the door. I saw him do this to a few more folks throughout the evening.

This is a nice place and the girl behind the bar is very nice. However when the music starts it's LOUD! It's a small place so it's not like you'll miss anything if you're further away from the stage. Ear plugs are a good idea if you value your hearing.

This was my first time coming to such an event, and coming to the event I did not know what to expect and was a bit nervous. Though I had a wonderful time, not only were the staff extremely friendly, but the other audience members were really chill. While I might not return as it really isn't my vibe, I definitely had a good experience, and do not regret coming to the show.

I had my album release here and it was such a wonderful night. The staff is so kind and helpful and the coffee is amazing. I cannot recommend hosting your shows here enough!

It’s always a great time. They curate beautiful live shows and are strict on their vaccination policy. If you show up without proof of vaccination, you’ll be denied entry. Other than that, expect good vibes depending on the performing artist!

What a cool, laid back place to hear some live music. This place is very small and is mostly standing room only besides a few stools at the bar. They have creative cocktails and mocktails, and if you're feeling like an espresso drink they can whip one up for you. The bartenders are great and make the scene friendly!
