“90 Miles” has been on my list of to-do spots for quite a while and I can honestly say I wish I would have stopped in sooner! Had the Chorizo&Beef Cheeseburger that comes with the most delicious fries and a couple of sweet plantains as a garnish. The empanadas were fantastic. HIGHLY recommend the goat cheese & chorizo empanada.

OMG! I had been wanting to come here forever because being Cuban just makes you proud of all things Cuban- if that makes sense. A friend recommended this spot and I really come for the hopes of it being authentic to its culture before anything else. And then the vibe/atmosphere of the place, of course. I came into the restaurant and it already felt like the Cuban culture was gushing out of the walls. From the little 90 miles tube in Key West to the Bacardi shade umbrellas to the colorful bar inside to the Caja China in the outdoor area to the influential people from Cuba- there was an influx of culture everywhere you turned. It was amazing! Then came the food/ menu. Everything’s still on a QR code from covid, so it was designed very nicely! Lots of colors and accents to it, matching the scene of everything else. The food felt homemade- which is hard to say because restaurants usually don’t cook that way. I think I’m also a little homesick; but that’s besides the point. TIP: it’s BYOB and they give you coolers! Definitely helps with the cost of it all if you’re trying to save a bit on all Illinois taxes with alcohol. The atmosphere, food, spanish speaking people— I missed it and I would come here again and again!! Definitely the best Cuban spot in Illinois!

Very delicious Cuban food. We came here late at night and the only struggle was to find parking but that is what happens when you go out in Chicago. We devoured all our food and can't wait to come back. The staff was kind and quick to attend to us. Hardworking people ready to help. Our food was ready more quickly than we expected since the place was packed (9:00 PM on a Friday). They have lots of tables and even outdoor seating. I love their decor! Muy rica comida cubana! This is BYOB establishment, so if you want to consume any alcoholic beverages, you must stop by a liquor store on your way and bring your own spirits. I was very disappointed with the quality of the food, it's just like a cafeteria with a premium price and very small portions. Nothing like what you can get at "Calle Ocho" 8th street in Miami Florida The service is none existent, our waitress just kept on disappearing for long periods of time and kept on forgetting to bring us items that we asked for like silverware, lemons or limes, water, napkins. Even when we asked for our check, we had to wait about 25-35 minutes to get it and another 15-20 minutes for our receipt. She simply was more interested in social media and her phone. I had the "Salmon a la Plancha" and it was way over cooked tried to get the waitress attention to see if they could remake it, but she just disappeared and I ended up eating the fish jerky. To be fair, the calamari creole or "Calamar Criollo" is very good and the shrimp empanadas "Empanadas de Camarón" are delicious. If I ever go back, I'm going to skip their entrees and stick to the appetizers. The entrees are too small and the quality is below average, it's just not worth the price. I also agree with some of the other Google reviewers that commented that this place is filthy. It needs a deep cleaning and they also need to pressure wash all of the tables in their patio.

Been here a handful of times and they have really tasty food! You can never go wrong with their empandas, ceviche or sandwiches! Went here with my bf and I got the Cubano sandwich with fries and he got the chicken sandwich with plantain chips and we shared the tuna ceviche.

First time guests at this amazing Cuban restaurant. Found it by chance on our way back from the city. Great location with several outdoor dining areas. The staff was very friendly and efficient and the food was outstanding. I can only highly recommend this restaurant, and if you want any drinks you’ll have to bring your own. Great place, all around!

Good food but, overpriced! TERRIBLE waiter service. While ordering, he is not focused on what we’re ordering, he looks as if he is in a hurry to leave. Did not come to check and ask if we need anything else. We will not return again!!

I wish I could give the Armitage location 10 stars. I have dined here twice and they NEVER disappoint. I took my sister and niece to lunch and they were equally as pleased. We ordered the chicken and beef empanadas for starters. They were fried to perfection and seasoned to please. Our entrees included the yellow rice with beans, the cuban sandwich, and Ropa Veija sandwich everything was fresh and delish. For dessert we shared the Tres Letche cake. I cant wait to go back!

Went to celebrate a birthday in the family. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating! The food was delicious! We ordered empanadas, Ropa Viejo, tostones and Cuban sandwiches. You MUST TRY THE EMPANADAS! We were a large party but were given excellent service. They even brought out cake and pastries, and sang happy birthday with traditional Cuban musical instruments! Such a great experience! Definitely going to return!

Probably my most favorite Cuban restaurant, and best location imo of the 3 sites. I have been going to this place since late 90s, even before the 2005 White Sox WS win. The food here remains true to its roots and quality has not waivered on over 20 years. The portions are larger than you expect and is fairly priced. The fish soup was not available today by their version of chicken noodle soup had the same hearty broth. What can you say about their empanadas but try them all with that chimichurri sauce. I have over the years! Its also a BYOB, tho i did not take advantage of it during this visit. Definitely will be back when that fish soup is available this Fall.

I invited two of my board members to join me for lunch here at the 90 Mile Cuban Café, just to share this dish. It was so worth it. The atmosphere, hospitality, and affordability of the food. Dee Alexander, a jazz singer, posted her visit, and I just had to come try this awesome MP, Grilled Snapper.

This was the first time that I've eaten Cuban food. This is a popular restaurant and when we arrived there for our 8pm reservations on a Saturday it was packed and the only available table was small and located right by the hostess booth. We decided to stay anyway. They were so busy that we didn't receive the best service but the food was good. This is also a byob establishment.

Very good food and the atmosphere is great. The only thing is that you have to wait forever to get in touch with your server after you get served with the food.

Looking for lunch and ended up here. The vibe is chill with music playing in the background and the Cuban decor on all the walls was really dope. I started with empanadas (shrimp, beef, and chicken) and I'll rate each one: Shrimp 9.2, Chicken 8.3, Beef 7.0. Each one were good but the shrimp hands down was the winner for me. It also came with two different sauces one very creamy which was my favorite and one more oil-based sauce. I ended with a Cubano sandwich which I really enjoyed too. The sandwich was flavorful the meat, cheese, and pickles all went together so well...no bad bite here. Overall a good spot to grab a bite to eat. 8.4

Great food options. I got the oxtails, rice/beans, and yucca. Make sure you put the hot sauce the make on your rice and oxtails!! The hot sauce is divine and so was the food. Great location on the corner with an outdoor patio vibe for warm days and the summer.

Lunch time is the best time to come here since it’s not super crowded. I had some down time so why not come in the middle of the week to this gam? I did their PAN CON LECHON which has tender Roasted pork, citrus mojo, grilled onions, shoestring potatoes and fried sweet plantains. It was a solid sandwich but I do wish there was a tad more spice. That’s me thought because I should’ve inquired about any hot sauce or salsa on the side. The interior def gives off a vibe out of Miami/ Key West area - I didn’t say Cuba bc I’ve never been. Super great food, service and staff! Parking can be tricky just be patient and you’ll find a meter!

The Chorizo and Goat Cheese empanadas were amazing! Best empanadas I've had. I got the Cubano sandwich and it was great as well. Staff was friendly and gave us a tour of the place as it was our first time. Will definitely be coming back. Place is also BYOB.

We did carryout and live near Harlem and Foster. From picking up the food and getting it home, everything was packed perfectly (no spills or messes) and the food was hot. We were so very happy we made the little drive and brought it home. We will definitely be ordering to-go again soon!

The food here is consistent and tasty. I think the price is a liitle high. The proportions of the main dishes are surprisingly large. I can easily leftovers for a second meal. Maybe that makes up for the prices. On occasion I've been served the bottom of the rice pot where the rice is dry and crunchy.

This is our go to in Chicago! The food is amazing! The staff is incredible. The atmosphere is classic Cuban dishes that makes us think, when can we come back? We live 2 hours south, but every time we are in Chicago, we eat at 90 Miles!

This place is super overrated it took forever to get one steak sandwich and one coffee literally 30 minutes it was my first time going I went because I was told it was delicious not only didn't it taste like anything I was still hungry when I was done for two sandwiches and one coffee was $35 I think that's a bit outrageous.... cozy environment but it was the neighborhood gentrification

  • 5/5 Will G. 3 years ago on Google
I'm a Chef by trade and I've been lucky enough to cook in Miami, and had the opportunity to spend time in Cuba. I like to think that I have a good idea of good Cuban food.... This place is incredible, from the decor, to the smells, to the food and environment it is absolutely perfect, the Cubano is the best I've had outside of Miami, and the Cafe Con Leche is the best I've had outside of Havana, I will be back over and over and over again.... My only feed back was a little more attentive table service, but attitudes were great and the prices fare 10/10 would recommended.
