The food was really great. We wanted the lamb shank but there wasn’t any so we tried the goat which was great! The menu is awesome and very affordable- $15. The food pictured served two people and we were really full. The tea was amazing for $1! The sitting is small so ideal for two people to dine in but not for large crowds.

This was my first experience with Somalian food but it won't be the last. The food was phenomenal, the atmosphere felt casual but warm. The gentleman that served us was super helpful and friendly. Huge portions priced very reasonably. Ugh, and the tea! I can't stop thinking about the hot tea. It was just so perfectly balanced, between the sweetness and the warm spices. Though it's small and doesn't matter much to most people, probably, I do appreciate the TV station being on Al Jazeera news network. Thank you for the great time!

Came here yesterday for my birthday with friends and it exceeded my expectations. It wasn’t a super fancy place but the atmosphere was absolutely amazing. The food was delicious(and at a good price) and the staff was extremely friendly. I will definitely want to come back and highly recommend it!

We were delighted by our meal here, drove over during the MAScon. Wonderful owners, generous servings and delicious Somali food. Their family platter had a taste of everything and plenty of veggies - and will last our party of four for two days! Highly recommend and worth the drive from McCormick.

Goat was great, and the employees (maybe owners?) Are extremely friendly. Huge portions that I couldn't even finish. It's small inside, only 4 tables, but worth a try.

Never had Somalian food before. The Hilib Ari was so delicious. Also their sambusa and the mandazi. The only dish we didn’t like much was the Kay Kay with chicken. Overall great experience. The milk tea was also delicious.

It was nice to experience a different cuisine and culture. It looked like everyone who hangs out here were really close and are regulars. The food is served like cafeteria style so it wasn't as fresh as I was hoping for since all the other reviews talked greatly about the food. The chicken itself was very dry and did need to be seasoned more. I wasn't impressed with the lamb shank it looked like it was boiled so it made it unpleasant to eat. With that being said the lamb shank was bland. I did think the rice, veggies, and the split peas were tasty. The samosas did not have any crunch to them but I did think the filling was good. The highlight of the dinner was actually the black tea, it had so much flavor and warmth I could drink that every day.

Great food and great portions for takeout. Never had Somalian food and was pleasantly surprised how much flavors there was in the rice and how tender the chicken was. We'll definitely be back to try the lamb and everything else on the menu. The owner was kind in explaining the choices but I hope in the future he could introduce us to something more unique! Be weary though, we were harassed by a random homeless guy in the restaurant, took awhile for the owner to shoo him away but he waited for us outside. Kinda a buzzkill to our first experience unfortunately.

It may not look fancy inside, but their food is delicious and the portions are huge! We got the lamb shank and chicken legs. Both came with rice, beans, and cabbage / spinach. 10/10 recommend!

I ordered th chicken to go and it was great. The rice was moist and I also had veggies on the side. The chicken was very tender as well and extra tasty. Will come back and recommend especially considering the portion size and pricing.

We shared a large platter for three, which had fish, chicken, and lamb. Absolutely delicious. Super friendly service. The place got packed with locals at 6pm on Wednesday. It was pretty awesome.

From walking me and my 5 other friends earlier had the best time, from the home feeling inside the restaurant and the workers service to the quality of the food. Everything was fantastic, cooked to perfection, not to mention we didn’t even order, a man working there did us very nice with our food. Chicken cooked good with tilapia and lamb all cooked fantastically. Couldn’t wish for anything better. Samosas good too!

“Somali beeen weey sheegta laakin been maku maah maahdo” is a famous Somali proverb which means Somalis may lie but they never lie with proverbs. - The crepe/bread with honey was great. I was the only gringo in the place with lots of Somali chatter, and they made me feel welcome. The ambiance is as real as it gets.

A hole-in-a-wall restaurant that serves Somali food. I noticed that the time to get the food was very fast since it’s served cafeteria style. The chicken with rice was good, and so did the sweet bread.

Bless YHWH. I really enjoyed takeout from this place. The lady didn't mind that I asked for samples to decide on my order. I'm mostly plant based, and I was able to get rice + beans, cabbage with spinach and tasty fried bread. The only thing was my plate had much more rice than beans and the beans were the best part of the meal. My mom had the lamb and she really enjoyed it. Would definitely visit again.
