Was pretty busy when we came in, was seated right away. Our server was great. The arrachera was flavorful and cooked just right. The shrimp skewers were huge. Portions was plentiful for two. It is cash only. Great place for a date night

Cash only. Home style traditional cooking. Noise level: A little too loud. BYOB. Good for small or large gatherings. Family friendly.

It's unfortunate that the food and service is great but my experience was ruined because of how cold and uncomfortable it was in the restaurant. It was so cold that we were only able to enjoy the food in the beginning while the food was hot. The food got cold fast because of the cold draft. Wearing your winter coat in a restaurant is just uncomfortable. Skip this place in the winter. Maybe try in the summer.

Came here before a show at Thalia Hall. Skewers were great, big portions and served uniquely on a stand. Cowboy beans that came with the dish could have been a meal alone. Glad we were sat back by the kitchen as the music was very loud in front.

Man oh man went here for my jobs Christmas party for the second year in a row, and it was just as amazing as it was last year. Everything is absolutely delicious from the nachos to guacamole, the shrimp, beef, & the chicken I stuffed myself silly. Our server was super attentive, and the food never stopped coming. We started off with chips and salsa as well as guacamole, I dug in. I was halfway stuffed when they started bringing out the big guns first was the shrimp and vegetable skewers. Then they brought out a huge metal serving tray filled with beef, grilled chicken & vegetables . They also brought out another dish for the life of me, I can’t remember what it was called , but it was essentially minced beef on a really thick and gooey cheese. Not sure what it was, but I do know it was absolutely delightful as it tumbled down my belly. Would you believe even after all that they still brought out a small bowl of chili soup? Oh my goodness it was da bomb diggity! The drinks kept coming the food was nonstop and the atmosphere was very lively for our Friday afternoon party, absolutely love this place I will definitely have to stop by with my family to enjoy a delicious Mexican meal 100% worth a stop your belly will thank thank. My review won’t have many photos of the food itself because I was too busy stuffing myself, but I do have tons of photos of the restaurant as well as the open kitchen and the menu. Hopefully these will help you in making the obvious decision of heading to Canton Regio for a , delicious authentic Mexican meal

Cantón Regio welcomes you with an atmosphere brimming with energy and joy. As the vibrant tunes fill the air and happy patrons engage in delightful conversation, you know you're in for a treat. The arrachera and chicken stand out, with every morsel exuding impeccable flavor, a testament to the expertise of the kitchen. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, they leave a lasting impression. The lively vibe, marked by music and the evident enjoyment of the diners, enhances the overall dining experience. A trip to Cantón Regio is not just about food; it's a delightful journey. Don't miss out.

Anything that has an authentic vibe to it, will always be 5 stars for me! It is a BYOB establishment and they do play lite music upstairs. The seating arrangement was a little awkward; but the atmosphere was nice...I definitely would recommend it for a girls day out! Street parking only

Can't miss with anything on the menu. Highly recommended. Cash only. BYOB. They do not have alcohol on the menu, but have no corkage fee. Pro tip- There is a small liquor store across the street.

My brother took me here for a Mexican breakfast and now I’ve another excellent foodie place to eat in Pilsen of Chicago. They make homemade tortillas and authentic dishes. Salsas, rice, beans, arrachera and fresh hot tortillas harinas. Mm mm mm. Good luck trying to have dinner here because this place gets packed and the food is why.

I ordered the Tacos Sabínas and couldn't have been happier with how they turned out. Food was great, prices were fair and service was exceptional. Will definitely be returning once I'm back in the city! Highly recommended!

I celebrated my cousin's birthday at Canton Regio in Pilsen, and it was an unforgettable experience! The 2 kilos of skirt steak, shrimp skewers, and chicken skewers were a carnivore's dream. The highlight was when the lights dimmed, and they surprised my cousin with a sombrero while playing the Mexican happy birthday song – a festive touch that made the night truly special. Great food, lively atmosphere, and top-notch service! The restaurant is BYOB and cash-only, so do come prepared!

Small place but the food packs a huge punch!!! We look forward to going here all the time. The kilo of Carne asada is a great value for the price and the meat is absolutely delicious!! Be sure to order it cooked medium as anything more it can get a little chewy. We always order extra beans and tortillas de Mano to go!! I highly recommend this place! We drive over an hour to get it and it's well worth it!!! And by the way, it's BYOB which is awesome!!!

We had the steak with cebollitas and fish tacos. The steak had a good flavor and was cooked well, however the texture was inconsistent. A few bites were tender but most bites were tough and we were chewing on the gristle like a cow. The fish tacos’ flavors were very good, but I think for this type of restaurant in the middle of Pilsen, the tacos should’ve come with rice and beans, which they didn’t. The chips and salsa were really good, maybe the best chips and salsa I’ve ever eaten at a Mexican restaurant. Came here for lunch on a Saturday and service was attentive and food came out fast.

I ordered arrachera for 2 , it came with grilled onions , Jalapeños, and a small serving of frijoles charros for each. I also ordered queso Panela fundido for this dish and it was a perfect match. I really enjoyed them together. When you get there they serve you chips and salsa they also give you a taco to snack on while you wait and when my food got to the table they also brought me a side of nopales. The service was excellent and I will definitely be returning to try other dishes. I also noticed its a BYOB establishment so if you must have a cold one don't forget to take it along.

This was our first time eating in Pilsen and I’m so glad we chose this place! Some of the best Mexican food we’ve ever eaten. I had the shrimp skewers and shrimp tacos and my husband had the chicken fajitas and steak tacos. They have live mariachi music and the vibe is great. Our server was Adrian and he was excellent! We were planning on trying a few more places but I think we’ll just stick to coming here. Loved it!

This is my absolutely favorite place to dine at when in Pilsen. To will never ever be disappointed! The Carne Asada is to die for... Really! Great atmosphere, waiters work hard to please and give attention to detail when serving. You will have to take out CASH as they do not accept any other form of payment but cash. BYOB, take with you or step out to the liquor store across the street. They are kid friendly, and although there are 2 floors, be prepared to wait a few. They are always full because the food is so damn good. Street paid parking...... there a few stairs to walk up because the place used to be an apartment blgd.

Awesome ambience and it gets very crowded so try and get there early because the food is worth it. The prices are reasonable and the music is on point.

This is one of my favorite goto spots in Pilsen. They never disappoint you. Service is great food always delicious. I usually grab a Kilo of the Carne Asada with Beans and guacamole as sides. This Place is ranking in there with some of my top spots. It is a Cash Only restaurant with an ATM on site. But guess what it’s BYOB! The chicharrón con huevo on the breakfast menu is next level stuff.

The food is always excellent. On this particular day, we went to celebrate my mom's birthday, and the service was superb. From making my mom feel special to paying attention to small details, such as my sister having to step away for a moment so the server came over to cover her food then took it a step further and reheated it when she returned. Delicious and amazing service!

I have mixed feelings about this place. We went for my birthday and got seated right away didn’t get menus until much later. We tried to get their attention but it took about 20+ min to get served. It was quite busy during dinner time though. The food and birthday cake were delicious 🍰 The Arrachera is highly recommended! What wasn’t so delicious was the bill. They had added a BYOB surcharge of $10 which wasn’t written. YES, they don’t serve alcohol. What is a Mexican restaurant without a margarita? Points lost! Also $18 for birthday cake which is unusual when it’s someone’s birthday. And as many restaurants are doing now is immediately adding the gratuity fee for under 6 people 😑 Did I mention it’s CASH ONLY? Maybe I’ve been out of the country too long but all these hidden charges and surprises were shocking. I had to dispute this with one of the waiters and he removed 1 fee. I recommend that if you really need to go to this place, to be attentive with hidden fees and not get robbed.

This place brings you directly to Mexico (or any authentic latin country). The servers are not well organized, for example they have more table than chairs LOL. We ended up taking the appetizers standing up. But... They are very kind and they really try to make you feel home. At the end the atmosphere is great and when you get the food, well it is really really good. We took the camarones skewers and the skirt. Everything was packed with flavor. Then the price is very low. BYOB and cash only.

Amazing must try!! As a table of 2 we got sat right away. They greeted us right away with waters and took our drink order. We had a couple minutes to look at the menu and they brought us a small little appetizer which I’m assuming is included because we didn’t see it on our bill. It was eggs and potato with a tortilla all the ingredients and everything was super fresh. We ordered and had her food within 15 minutes. Everything tasted really really good and was extremely affordable. Definitely would recommend for a quick bite to eat!

Amazing food, worth the wait! The food is full of flavor, big serving and friendly staff. It is the least expensive brunch out I’ve had in years too. They are extremely reasonable.

Loved this place! Was brought for my birthday and we were seated immediately. Busy for a Wednesday night but they sing and bring a candle and cake to you. Food and service were amazing, 10/10 recommend!

The food was AMAZING. Beef succulent and tender spices amazing. And you can bring your own beer (place across the road sells a six pack of excellent Mexican beer for 10 dollars) . Prices compared to downtown are incredibly good. We paid just 15 dollars each and left feeling very full indeed. Service super fast and attentive and the place has a great local ambient. Definitely a highlight of my week in Chicago. Cash only!

This place is amazing. We come by everytime we are visiting Chicago. Most likely there will be a wait , but we'll worth it. We order the KILO of skirt steak and split it with table. They do have lots of other Great dishes.
