It may not be the go-to spot for many but anyone for anyone craving nostalgia of what midwestern Chinese restaurants were like several decades ago, this is a must place.

Friday night family dinner. This place is a gem and reminds me of a classic 1970s Cantonese American style cuisine. All our choices were wonderful. Place was quiet but we had dinner very late. Definately a place for dinner rotation when in the area.

For the price I paid I expected the food to taste better. The shrimp lo mein was very peculiar because it came in a gooey clear sauce (I’m used to it being prepared in a brown sauce). It tasted mediocre at best but was fresh and hot to say the least. The crab rangoons were average. The best part arguably was the vegetable egg rolls unfortunately. Definitely won’t be coming back.

Fantastic gem. The place is so intimate. It is a great place for a low-key lunch or dinner with your close friends and/or family. It just has that type of feel. The food was so fresh and full of flavor. I am very cautious about ordering beef meals because beef is easy to dry out or make chewy. These dishes were so tender, well seasoned, and fresh. I had a great family lunch today.

In all honestly I was expecting the food to be in another level since they’ve been in business for 10+years. Another reviewer wrote that the food was greasy and I can confirm that. The food is on the greasy side and to top it off they don’t provide you with napkins. The food was lacking flavor and the portion was small. It looked like my order was leftovers from another order. I’m all about supporting small family owned businesses but I won’t be back to this one. My $13.85 plus $3.00tip was not worth my lunch plate.

I recommend this old-school Chinese-American restaurant. Very quaint family-owned atmosphere with all of the little touches. Complementary tea on the tables is a definite perk. The veggie egg rolls are good as is the veggie fried rice (really good rice!). They have plenty of good options and you can even get a family meal deal. I would recommend this place for a mellow environs for Chinese.

I got recommended to this restaurant by a friend & I’m so glad! It’s very delicious, the people who own it are lovely & the prices are reasonable. Highly recommend trying them. We had the orange peel chicken & the Mongolian beef. The egg rolls are ahhhmazing! Thank you Mee Mahs!

We just had dinner here tonight, and everything was outstanding. We ordered two appetizers, and two entrees, and it was plenty of food for two big eaters. Everything was delicious and the service was outstanding. There is something very special about a restaurant that is operated by the same people that own it, and I wish that I lived closer to Mee Mah so I could eat here more often. Chicago is a city with a fabulous food scene in general, and from my experience the Chinese food here is just as good as it is in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle. Which is to say just about the best you can get outside of China. And Mee Mah is a gem. I look forward to my next visit to Chicago so I can plan my next meal at this wonderful family owned Chinese restaurant.

The Mongolian beef is by far my favorite dish. Not 1 restaurant I've been to that does it that great...guaranteed. Great customer service, love the vintage Asian style restaurant as well. Restaurants like that are hard to come by nowadays and becoming more nostalgic to me. Go there while you can. Original not modern or super hip like what all the Restaurants look like. I hope Restaurants like this do not become obsolete and ppl like me continue to go and support to keep them around. Great food and nostalgic feel.

The food was good and it was served hot and in the right order. The server was seasoned and knew how to treat customers and serve the dishes correctly. They had numerous carryout during the time we were there, which showed that there is an audience for their food.

Just an okay Chinese restaurant with their quality of food in that neighborhood. The manager & the staff are not really very friendly. Not sure if there is a language barrier but the waitresses ignored some of the people from our table when we asked for something. The plates needed to be cleared up from the table & we still have to remind the waitresses since we have to cut our cake for a coworkers ' bday party.

Great food. But worst customer service ever. The old lady who takes orders has no idea what she is doing and messes orders up

The freshest best Chinese food around Chicago Tell Sandy that Ted sent you. It's the only Chinese restaurant that I go to and drive 11 miles to get there . Singapore 🍜 noodles are my favorite

In town for a few days and had high hopes of getting some quality Chinese while I was here. I was disappointed. To get to the point if you want a lot of food for cheap, (eggrolls were the biggest I have seen) then you will like this place. If you want quality traditional Chinese with lots of flavor then go somewhere else. The huge eggrolls had no flavor. The chicken chow mein that I ordered because it is a universal dish that any restaurant should be able to make had zero flavor. It isn't a spicy dish to begin with, but it should have white pepper, soy sauce and maybe some garlic/ginger but this had nothing. This place is like most other Chinese restaurants today. It seems they are trying to hold costs down by not using any spice.

The best Chinese food ever! I highly recommend the egg rolls especially the Mee Ma twice fried egg rolls! The best in the world! One of the last few places that's still serve the Chinese food old world style! Definitely try to Hong Kong steak!!

The service was kinda terrible but the food was not good and now my stomach is upset and so is my sister’s and there was no music playing and it was an overall not good experience and would never go back again and the chicken was not even fresh witch is very disappointing. The fried rice was missing soy sauce when it was cooked and even the seasoning witch is upsetting. The restaurant was small and too many mirrors

I was charged 38 dollars for 2 large orders of fried rice and 1 order of crab rangoon. Not only was I overcharged but staff is rude.
