I've tried to come back to this location many times before. The most recent time I received a half cooked burger and the service and (lack of) cleanliness of the restaurant was honestly concerning. Im not usually the type to be picky about restaurants, but save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else.

They have Coke Zero! They also have Splenda and unsweetened iced tea. There are 3 kiosks to order from. From the time we ordered and they brought out our food was no more than 5 minutes. Very quick. The only thing was they were packed so we didn't have anywhere to sit. After a while we found a table. I had the Bourbon bacon jam burger so good! I also had their chicken nuggets and Oreo shake all very good. Their staff was sweet, quick and helpful. They do sell wine and beer. They also have outdoor seating. You have to enter through the hotel entrance. Follow the signs and your nose .

***Update**** turns out this location was having a bad day. I have since tried a new location and it 5x better then what I wrote on the bottom of this review. Much tastier and better service. Kinda pricey for not much flavor and tiny portion size. They are also missing a good sauce to go on the burger. It’s kinda dry. I got the new cheeseburger with bacon and fired onions and it honestly lacked any flavor. Tried a few other burgers and they all lacked flavor. The meat quality looked good but no flavor. Was really hoping this place would be good. To expensive and not enough flavor. The French fries were decent but I could buy this at a supermarket.

Service ... we ordered on a kiosk and had zero interaction with people other than them calling us to pick up our tray. Atmosphere ... we sat in the dining area which had 4 booths and a few tables. Food ... the food was delicious, but very pricey.

Wonderful experience! We rode the train to Millennium Park, and after, we went to the Shake Shack location right across the street. The place is pricey, but the food is great and the kids loved it. The service inside was excellent also. Very fun diner-type vibes. A great experience is always worth the money spent.

Sometimes life is just like the door to the Shake Shack Chicago. It only opens from the inside. Still, everyone keeps trying to bust it open until they see the notice on the door. One moves on, another replaces him and her, with similar effort if not harder. Enter through the hotel lobby, be kind to the gentleman who greets you with a warm smile, grab yourself a good, fine American burger, and watch those poor tourists struggling with that door. That’s life. Everyone tries, everyone succeeds, no way or another, if one happens to read English.

The truffle burger (limited edition) was so good! Loved the juiciness with the bold, distinct flavor of truffles. Definitely worth getting if it's still on the menu.

Located on the bottom floor of the Chicago Athletic Association building. We did paid street parking on a nearby street for an hour for 7.5$. You can also park on millennium garage. Im giving this a 5 star review because the good was delivered fast, it tasted fine, and the service was amazing. I had the Shack burger with fries and strawberry lemonade. The drinks are unlimited refills, which is nice.

The seating is very limited. The burger only has green leaf lettuce, tomatoes, and their special sauce. The shake was good and forget about getting hot or even warm french fries! It's a good burger but it's over priced. I paid about $100 for 5 burgers with cheese fries and shakes.

Third visit: Came at a good time - no line and got a table for 4 wi the out a wait. Food was enjoyed again. Second visit: Came here a few years ago on a visit to Chicago, and our children said it was the best Shake Shack ever. We came on this trip and again the food was really great. Very friendly service, too.

This was my second time trying Shake Shack, and the food was just as delicious as the first time! I loved the location. You walk through a stunning lobby with magnificent stained glass windows and spectacular tiling. The restaurant has a bit of an upscale dinner vibe. I would definitely go back just for the atmosphere!

I love this burger place, especially for its location and the beautiful interior of the building. The food itself is fantastic, and I appreciate the variety of vegetarian options they offer. I've visited here numerous times and plan to continue doing so.

Absolutely loved my meal here! Had the spicy Chicken burger, spicy fries and shack lemonade. It is my favourite meal now.

I recently visited Shake Shack and had a fantastic experience. The food was delicious, and I found it to be worth every penny. The cleanliness of the establishment was impressive, and they had ample seating that was perfect for both groups and families with kids. I highly recommend Shake Shack for a satisfying meal in a comfortable environment.

My first experience here was very good. The eating outside at night was beautiful. They had great customer service.

I’m not from Chicago, but I’ve heard the Shake Shack hype, so I dropped in. Wonderful location. Solid burger (I was not that hungry but was all around very good). Effluent staff, beautiful area / building, atmosphere was also great. So that all combined is why the 5 stars.

The best shake shack in town. Beautiful building, quick service as usual, great food. Loved it.

I suspect the employees are not doing their jobs properly; I’ve had shake shack many times and this location is consistently off. Fries were almost cold, Burger lettuce was soggy, shake was about a quarter of the way melted. When ordering, employee’s voice was incoherent. Enjoyed the outdoor patio and that it was fairly clean. Also a good spot to use the restroom (up the white marble stairs to the left). Water tap available near the food pick up window for repeat refills.

Good burgers. They are a greasy burger patty with a bunch that perfectly absorbs all of that grease. They have cheese fries that are pretty good but order only if you are eating them at the restaurant while hot. As it cools off the cheese hardens pretty quick. Of course shake is in the name and if you want a good shake, go no further.

Great burger and crinkle fries! I got a ShackStack cheese burger with BBQ sauce and loved it. The cheese was very melty and the meat was a little over salty for my preference but it didn't distract too much from the burger flavor. Definitely would eat here again I liked looking at the historical building it's in too. They had some old baseball items in a case

Located in the Chicago Athletic Club Hotel, Shake Shack has good burgers but a bit small. Fries are good compared with other fast food restaurants, and the shake; strawberry/rubarb was excellent.

Truly had a fantastic experience at this location. I made a goof on my order, realized it after ordering, paying and waiting for food... when I realized I had forgotten to request a gluten free bun for one of the hamburgers, they were so gracious about handling it, with a smile and just full on kindness-I offered a tip, but it was declined. I give kudos to this team and how they all worked in unison and delivered a top- notch experience!

The staff was so nice. The shack burger was so delicious. Why can't we have shake shack in hyde park?

Order at koisk, text sent to phine to pick up food. Expensive. Beautiful vintage location. Avocado bacon burger, parmesan white truffle fries, tiramisu shake. Enter through hotel lobby. Not a lot of seating.

After so many years, we finally were able to get our hands back on Shake Shack again! This location in particular is a must visit as it's located in a gorgeous classic design hotel/club considered a historical landmark from the late 1800. Just like the last time we had, the burgers were always delicious! I ordered the white truffle burger and really liked it. The service was great and there was this lady who would walk around the table asking for to clear any empty trays and offer for beverage refills in a new cups.

Stopped in because I kept hearing how good the burgers from Shake Shack were. A quick bite and hustle to pick my daughter up from school. From the times I've passed by, it's always packed. No line today. Good. I'm new to ordering so i just got the smokestack (Bacon Cheeseburger). It was GREAT. Nice cheddar cheese. Some ranch sauce (complimented the other flavors) the bacon was cooked well. In between. Then it was also topped with spicy diced tomatoes. I enjoyed it. The cook that made it likes their job. My only problem wasn't that it was expensive cuz i know that's the gripe of many ppl but the burger is worth it. My problem was that i saw one of the employees touch a trash while working the fries and didn't bother to change their gloves. That was unsanitary. They continued to season, shuffle and box fries with the same gloves on. Luckily, I initially shied away from order fries. But this trip was mainly for the experience. I enjoy trying new places. Besides that thing, it was definitely above average a burger joint. Just alert the staff of making sure they change gloves.😉

Food was, OK. Nothing to brag about. Been there done that, next please. Will not be returning. Shakes were good but everything was so overpriced. Culvert’s is better in the burger and shake department by a long shot and you will save some $$. Funny thing, we had to show I’d and proof we were vaccinated and instructed to keep our mask on at all times. Funny thing, we saw several staff walking around with NO mask on in the kitchen ….

Burgers are juicy and fresh, one should definitely try beef and chicken burgers. I am definitely love the burgers and I am going back because I am yet to try there beverages. Food is bit pricey for the size they serve. So 3 stars

My first time at Shake Shack. The food was alright, but you don't get much for the cost. The shake was alright. The hamburger was on the small side (about the size of two "sliders"). Could have been better, could have been worse.

It’s Friday after 4pm and it’s pretty busy, but the line is moving fairly quick. I paid 18.62 (plus tip) for 10pc nugget, fries and small lemonade.

I have been trying various type of burgers in Chicago and I can say that Shake Shack has one of the best burgers. Great fries, fresh burgers, good customer service and no delay of your meal. 100% recommend.

Busy Saturday in Chicago, Tons of people around for graduations on Michigan avenue but we were still served very quickly. I love this building so much. It’s a great excuse to come inside. The burgers were fresh and juicy and the fries were delicious. Classic vanilla shake as expected. It’s expensive Chicago fast food but it’s like everything else on Michigan avenue, you pay for the location. The only reason I put four stars is for the flow of the space, it’s difficult to walk through the dining area and there just aren’t enough tables or even standing space for a rainy day.

  • 3/5 Ivan S. 1 year ago on Google
Disappointed by slow service. Literally no one in line and there were 3 people in the front. I had to wait realistically 2-3 minutes but it felt like 5 because there were 3 people there just talking. Ketchup was out, I had to go ask to get it refilled, trash and trays were overfilled. It was not overly busy because that I could understand.

I heard that this place delivers awesome burgers and it's true. The rumor about the shakes is also true. Best fast food I've had in a long time

  • 1/5 Alberto C. 2 years ago on Google
They prioritize delivery service, over people actually ordering in. I waited 20min and they still got my food wrong. Not worth your time.

  • 4/5 Vidhi M. 2 years ago on Google
The shakes are good but a bit too thick in consistency than the regular shakes. Sitting space is spacious.

  • 1/5 Nick P. 2 years ago on Google
I heard they had good food. Unfortunately they couldn’t deliver a meal for my children. The order was $81.00, albeit a person needs to download their APP to order, you receive roughly a 20-25 digit reference number (need that reference 20-25 digit to get refunded (don’t untie it away!). When a person calls they do not answer their phone(s). A person must leave a message with a Name, Phone Number and correct 20-25 digit order number and leave everything above but the person gets sent to a automated system and [Shady Shack] Shake Shack will not call you back until the next day. We were told the next day we will be refunded the $81.00 - unfortunately we had to wait 2+ hours to order from somewhere else. We got one of their competitors Food and I’m glad we did, got our food within 40 minutes.
