The worst customer service their people skills are lacking big time. Had a appointment with them on video and they didn't show up and then canceled the appointment. Then once I took my father to ER and they did nothing they let him sit there. Then took no tests on him and sent him home. As soon as he got out he went to Mc Neal where they cared enough to run some tests on him and there they found the issue was having. Imagine he would of just went home like Christ sent him!

I was very upset about the customer service at this medical facility. The nurses at this facility in the emergency waiting room were very unprofessional and uncaring. This facility is too small to handle the excessive patients coming in for emergency medical help. Once it gets overcrowded in the area the individuals who come in with the patients are asked to leave, even if they have to stand outside in the cold. One of the nurses allowed one visitor to stay. My wife was very ill, and I was informed that I have to leave the area. She stated why was this lady allowed to stay with her husband and I was told I had to leave my wife. The sad part about the whole situation is that she informed the nurse that not only was I her husband but also her Pastor. Is this the way you treat the clergy? Also, it took fifteen hours before my wife received any medical attention. Some of the Law Enforcement Officers also needs to attend a customer service class. Do not go to this hospital if you need any serious medical attention!

Waited in the emergency room for 10 hours. I was not seen I voluntarily left after waiting that long. The bill just came in and its due in five days. I wonder if they are willing to wait on my payment just as I waited on them. The hospital specializes more on child care. I would not go back there again. I might take my chance with a hospital known for its long wait time and quick bill delivery next time. After I left I was more in pain from sitting and waiting.

all of these ppl been here since yesterday afternoon and it’s 8:30pm 10/24. this is horrible. this hospital ER need to be ashamed of themselves. HOW CAN YOU CALL YOURSELF AND NURSE/DOCTOR. and literally walk over ppl. this is not care. this is terrible for all the money ppl pay in HC just to be treated terribly and receive little to no care at all. The sick was walking out saying they’d rather go home and die. very sad. I hate it here.

When you can’t sit down in a chair or use the rest room and the charge nurse said very disrespectful things and sends security when you asked for her supervisor. Completely unacceptable after standing in the waiting room for 8 hours. The ride will not arrive until 1 hour as it was explained. Quite frustrating in how people treat you when you are already in pain.

Too bad I couldn’t leave 0 stars! The absolute worst nurses in the country. No one wants to do their job. Very snappy, rude! It’s no wonder the mortality rate of African Americans is so high in our country. Age and race matters to these people. If you speak well, speak up, ask questions….you know too much. When you walk away your loved one is NEVER truly cared for. Stay aware and check in whenever you can. Remember…they are only here for the check💰.

It's taken me a year to write this review. Last August I delivered a baby there. I was pushed hard into being induced for no apparent reason. After 3 days and nights of laboring, a botched epidural, and a c-section, my baby was finally delivered. The real problem came when I spiked a SLIGHT fever a few days later, once. I was told I had to stay overnight for a IV antibiotics but my baby was NOT allowed to be there. My husband was. My MIL kindly took her for what I thought was 1 night for my safety. But a few hours in, the nurse let it slip that it was actually 4 (but they gave me 5??) Bags of antibiotics, given every 12 hours!! I put into consideration that it's more harmful to stop an antibiotic treatment once it starts, but I was in emotional agony being separated from my newborn for NO REASON for DAYS. I considered walking out, I was ready to walk myself the 15 miles home if I had to, but they sent in a HUGE male doctor (even thought I made it very clear I didn't want male doctors except in an emergency) to threaten me that if I left, the insurance wouldn't cover ANY part of my medical expenses and I'd have to sign papers. It turns out my insurance didn't cover any cent of the additional 3 nights or treatments because they deemed it completely unnecessary and my records indicated absolutely no reason for the antibiotics. I failed to bond with my baby, she would no longer even attempt to latch as she was used to a bottle. She had spent more time with someone else than with me, her actual mother. To this day, a year later, I still suffer from the lack of connection caused by traumatic, unreasonable separation from my NEWBORN INFANT. They kept us both alive? So I have to give them credit for not letting me bleed out on the operating table I guess. You would be better off letting a dirty homeless man in charge of your health than any of these heartless and unpersonable doctors. (Most nurses were great. It's not their fault.)

This hospital was remodeled a few years ago and it looks pretty amazing. Too bad they couldn’t do it with their staff. The rudest people work in the ER .if you don’t like your job, why work there. If your life is miserable, you don’t have the right to take it out on others. Especially when you are there for help. If it was possible to give zero stars. I would! I did a survey once before for this hospital and thought it would have changed. I was definitely wrong. I said it before and I will say it again. I WOULD RATHER LAY DOWN ON THE SIDEWALK OUTSIDE OF THE HOSPITAL (CHRIST ADVOCATE) AND DIE. Than get or expect any professional help from this place. This hospital is one of the biggest jokes in Illinois. By the way, I needed emergency foot surgery and after 4 plus hours of waiting. I ended up at UIC where they took me in within 15 minutes. Take that Christ Hospital. PATHETIC!!!

The labor and delivery center as well as the maternal recovery center provided the greatest combined quality medical care experience. Each nurse that we encountered displayed get empathy, dedication to the patient, and exhibited a feeling of care that made the patient and family feel like they were always in good hands. In terms of work ethic and professionalism, the nurses were the best. I wish I could compliment them more. I hope that the nurse crew gets a good bonus for all that they do for their patients 🙂

avoid, Avoid, AVOID!!!! The ER staff are rude, incompetent and lack empathy for patients. After HOURS of waiting, I demanded a Dr see my husband that was in debilitating pain, the nurse at the check-in desk called the security guard to kick me out. They prefer to throw out people rather than treat them. I rather DIE before I be treated at this hospital. HORRIBLE STAFF! DESERVES ZERO STARS. I bet Cook County Hospital treats patients better than these people do 😡😡😡

Should've read the reviews before coming here.... Been here since 2:30p with a possible miscarriage. ..... when taking my vitals, my right arm went numbed and purple with the blood pressure machine. I mentioned it to the nurse taking my vitals, she said it was ok..... all I've gotten done is blood work. Nothing else. They keep calling everybody but the poor. I guess if u don't have good insurance, you wait and die in your seat. Staff are nice but not much beside manners.... came here because I thought it would be good. But.... Never again Not to mention all the patients that are in so much pain, crying, desperate... and no help

This is one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I was hesitant to write a review when I initially went to the emergency room but it seemed to be a progressively distasteful experience. First, the emergency room was packed and disorganized. There were several people who appeared to be in greater physical or mental distress who were not adequately addressed...including a significant number of children. I get that they may have been beyond capacity and it was still unorganized. I was given the same assessment 3 times without adequate explanation. Some of the behaviors of others in the waiting room was inappropriate and unchecked. When I finally got a room, the floor/beds were open for the most part and staff was very scarce so I'm not sure why the initial waiting area was so flooded unless under staffed is an understatement. Regarding the payment process. Most of my visit was waiting to be seen. I paid a significant portion of the upfront ask while in the ER only to be seen in a room for about another hour and a half and received a bill which was grossly more than quoted. Still you can't expect too much because it's the ER. However, I can tell you from experience, this bill was still drastically more and despite my making regular payments, without notice the bill was sent to collections within a relatively short period of time. I've never had this experience with an ER and for the effort to outcome will try my best to make it elsewhere should the need arise. I will say the front desk staff seemed pretty overwhelmed and it looked like they did their best. In general perhaps they needed more hands on deck.

My Dad was in the ICU after his bypass with Phillip Alexander. After being assured by several of his Doctors and Nurses what good shape my Dad was in and how he would be fine, he died suddenly 6 weeks later. When he was in the ICU I was extremely disappointed and taken aback by the lack of knowledge his care team seemed to have. He was diabetic and they gave him nothing he could actually eat being a diabetic. We were promised he would be fine. We were lied to and robbed. I am disgusted by this whole institution. If I could give negative stars I would.

My experience was the worst I’ve ever had with this facility. I hope I never have to take another family member there again. They pack you in the waiting room like sardines, then when that’s too crowded you moved to a hallway. No nurse or Doctors attending. Be careful the nurses lie tell they will put you in for lab work but don’t. I was lied to by 3 different people of this facility. They have no human capacity it is pack them in bill them get the money to pay for our facility updates. By pass this place. It is no longer a hospital it’s a facility who no longer care for the sick.

Avoid this place like the plague! Negative five stars. Traumas center is longer than 10 hours. Its Not worth it. They take your vitals. Than blood. But keep you sitting and waiting forever. Try going to your doctor first. It’s disgusting how unprofessional they are. How the hell am I there for 12 hours and you have the audacity to falsely get me excited I’m getting called but keep me waiting.

The ER wait time is way too long, especially if you're in pain! I understand that hospitals can get overcrowded, but they should provide better triage care and brainstorm better ways to get patients treated in a more timely fashion. This used to be a great hospital. Now the focus has shifted from providing quality care to treating people like deli customers waiting on their turn in line. Very disappointing.

The nurses in the surgical unit will fear monger you into doing whatever will make their job easier and quicker. They will use far too large instruments and claim it’s all they have. (Really? There’s no pediatric unit in the hospital? You only have one size catheter? One that is far, far too big for a female?) I tried to explain I’ve experienced SA, i tried multiple times, yet they still went out of their way to physically hurt me. I relived an entire childhood assault at their hands. They will offer you no alternatives except to do what they say or they threaten you’ll end up in ER. They’ll let you scream in pain and deny you painkillers or numbing for what they’re basically forcing on you. I had to sit through two nurses enjoying humiliating me while causing me agonizing pain, I was screaming so loudly another nurse came in to see what was wrong, but of course didn’t care.

This hospital is horrible. I had the worst experience delivering my stillborn. I was literally telling the doctors the baby was coming out of me. They left my babies head hanging out of me for minutes. After my baby being born they were supposed to keep him on a cool blanket to keep his body from decaying while I spend the little time I had left with him. THE NURSES NEVER EVEN TURNED IT ON. my baby was in the room with me the whole night and it wasn’t even on to help preserve his body. Had 2 nice nurses the rest were horrible. It’s like they didn’t care about my labor since my baby wasn’t alive. HATE THIS HOSPITAL.

If I I could give zero I would. My mom was sent to ER because her postox was low and irregular heart rate. Sat for 4 1/2 hours. Nobody came check her vitals let alone her well being. Had she died in wheelchair in waiting room nobody would have even known.

This place is terrible. Still waiting in the ER for hours. Came in for a possible broken toe but looks to be dislocated. The pain wasn’t bad when I first arrived but now the pain has gotten worse as I continue to wait to see a doctor. Even the nurse said the wait will be six hours and 12 hour waits aren’t unusual. If you need immediate medical care then please avoid this place. I’d like to give some constructive criticism, my suggestion is to either turn this “hospital” over to a organization that actually knows how to run a hospital or bulldoze it and turn it into a Starbucks. The only thing this place made faster and more convenient is billing me. They called me while waiting in the ER to get credit card information so I could be billed quicker. That was over 3 hours ago and I’m still waiting.

Where do I start…. Made me wait 8 hours in the EMERGENCY ROOM to tell me that there’s “4 more people ahead of me”. Come on. People in the EMERGENCY ROOM need to be seen almost IMMEDIATELY. How are you going to make me wait 8 hours just to tell me you don’t know how much longer it will take but that there’s 4 people ahead of me? Our doctors and nurses need to do better than this. COVID isn’t an excuse anymore. If i were you i would NOT come here, any other hospital will more than likely check you out in quicker than 8 hours, a whole work shift.

We were made to feel like family from walking in until we went home. Kept my wife very informed during my surgery and recovery. Thank you to Dr Sanchez great dr.. I am a veteran and the staff made my day when they gave me a card where they all signed it and told me thank you for your service. Best service had by all everyone we came into contact including the lady who helped us out to our car Thank You Thank you to all.

This hospital is horrible. The staff treats everyone as if you inconvenience them and do not have your best interest at hand. They will how ever go above and beyond in playing the role of police investigators and over question you on other topics not related to your health. They should focus on what they went to school for all those years for as medical professionals and investigate illnesses and treat those cases accordingly versus going out of their profession. People are rude which is understandable, but when you go into these professions you’re there for the better good of society. They don’t mind accepting their high pay checks as long as it’s an easy case. I have no idea why you go to school for all those years if you can’t provide answers. A complaint has been file towards certain individuals with the hospital giving a generic response as to reaching out and looking into the case going no where. It’s a complete joke.

i’m visiting my husband every chance i get when coming here he’s being treated with a lung infection and 2/3 times i’ve came the nurses paired with him are very passive and lack compassion, and aren’t being understanding. one of them one the first day made me uncomfortable rushing me to get out as soon as it hit 8pm when my husband was in critical condition and even came back 5 mins later to get security so they could make me leave i never came off rude never spoke so i just don’t understand why the nurse was being difficult, being in the hospital with a loved one the last thing i need is to be treated as if i’m a bother if they were in my shoes they would want compassion. The second day i was here with my husband i wanna say thank you Linda she was the kindest i’ve encountered here she didn’t make us feel discriminated or anything i just have good things to say about linda i love you thank you for being kind that will go a long way in this career. the third day which is today, amanda was probably the rudest she told me i couldn’t sit next to my partner and i told her i never got told this the dr even said it’s fine in the past but tanya told me that i backed up she left and came back and was very passive and seemed to hate her job i am not responsible if you choose the wrong career you treat people with respect and kindness in a place of sickness and health and she seemed to be discriminating our age and race we may be young adults be we aren’t children we are married and we are adults i really don’t understand the passive aggressiveness and i don’t like to be rude back or snap back so she was definitely taking advantage of that so i decided to shed some light on this because i also heard her being mad at another patient for asking when they could be discharged as if she was mad at getting more work on her plate when that’s what they pay her to do i work with blood everyday and i am apart of the medical field so hearing her be so rude and lacking compassion shows especially at a cristian church while being minorities

Brought my sister to the ER at 11am today. She is unable to walk, so I went inside to get a wheelchair. Security directed me back outside to a filthy corner where there was one chair with no arms or footrests. Parts thrown all over the ground. Masks are required now; but wheelchairs can be in a nasty pile outside.

I will never take myself or my family to this hospital ever again. The ER is overcrowded, dirty, and the staff has no compassion whatsoever. I accidentally put a nail through my finger and was in horrible pain - no one cared and I was informed it would be probably 8 hours before I was seen, while I had a nail sticking out of my finger. No one offered any care or help except some Tylenol while I sobbed by myself in the middle of the waiting room. After 4 hours in a crowded, disgusting waiting room, I had my husband come pick me up and just pull the nail out himself because that seemed a better option than anything the hospital could offer. Unfortunately this is not my only bad experience at Christ. A few years ago I had appendicitis (on Christmas Day no less) and after waiting forever in the waiting room literally writhing in pain and crying, once I was assigned a room in the ER the nurse was mean, cold, and so uncaring. She didn’t believe me that I had appendicitis and all but accused me of being drug seeking for asking for some pain meds because I was in mortal pain. After being left alone in my room for 4 hours screaming in pain, she finally returned and was like “Oh well I guess you do have appendicitis. Whoops.” By the time I was scheduled for surgery, my appendix had already began to burst. Do yourself a favor and go to Palos Hospital. I’d avoid this hospital if at all possible and will LITERALLY never step foot in it again.

Came to bring my mom for out patient surgery and the lady at the desk we checked in was so crabby had no personality towards sick people . then had issues with getting her a room because she had to stay said he could be from anywhere for one hour till they didn’t know when then had problems with the black security guard at the main entrance That treated me like I was a terrorist to finally a security Guard called elRico had been so nice calm Treated me like a human being. It’s a terrible shame how this hospital is. I go To Loyola University for cancer treatment And there is 1,000,000% difference between hospitals I wouldn’t bring my worst enemy to the hospital after the way I have been treated There’s definitely two people in this hospital that should be fired because Hospital is supposed to be a Pleasant place Very sad somewhere you’re supposed to get help treat you so bad

My good friend was brought into the hospital via ambulance from Midway Airport. From the moment he was wheeled into the Emergency Room until he left a few days later the staff was unparalleled and utterly on top of things. Not only did they take care of him, but also made sure to look after me. I can't thank them enough for all they did for my friend.

01/06/2024 this hospital is ridiculous, my husband has been for 13 hours and has not been seen. I was there with him but was told to leave along with others because it was over crowded. what if he needed to use the restroom and his name was called he would be skipped and they would go on to next person. then what? wait for more hours. he's suffering from pancreatitis. he needs medical attention. this places need more management in various areas.

I came in about possible blood clots due to a previous knee injury. After spending three hours at my neighborhood urgent care I am now going on my 10th hour here and still have not seen a physician. The overnight staff lacks compassion and professionalism when it comes to sick and waiting patients. No updates, no sorry you’re still waiting, really no anything. I have been to some hospitals where I’ve had long wait times, but this is the worst. My leg has swollen even more since my arrival. I believe they completed my ultrasound on my leg over 8/9 hours ago. It’s a shame that you have to sit so long and wait. I’ve worked in the ER and know about the severity scale, but this is outrageous. I’ve asked for a supervisor multiple times and no one never came. Thank god for the security woman that got me a better wheelchair to prop up my leg finally.

My father was in 5 west bed 43. It was the worst experience. Small room, hard styrofoam door to the room, bathroom door swung in so another person could help the patient in the bathroom, the sink was up against the other patients bed and couldn’t access it, NO PHONE IN THE ROOM…I’m sure that’s illegal. If you wanted to use a phone, you had to contact the nursing station for a phone. No room for a food tray. This is comparable to a 3rd world country hospital. Stay away from this hospital. If there was an option for 0 stars, this hospital would receive that rating.

Surgical took care of me. They are great. After care....I didn't eat for over 1.5 days. Even though I was allowed to eat. Nurse stated I had eaten and it was a new plate. LIE....worse then that, aftercare nurses with my roommate, that was next to me, smoking dope in the hospital. Nurse just came in shook her head and left. 5 days in felt like an eternity.

Absolute worst hospital ever. This hospital is contaminated with Mersa. 7 years ago my grandfather died from Mersa at Christ hospital and now I have another family member that just now has been diagnosed with Mersa. They are dishonest about it and won’t even tell you that it’s Mersa. They are not clean and is horrible when it comes to sanitation. Absolute worst

This place is the worst hospital ever! Staff treated my father like he was part of the cattle. He came in via ambulance and was given a wrong diagnosis. They first thought he had a stroke that was why he couldn’t move his arm they said, only to find out he had a seizure and then broke his arm when he fell. He went for an MRI and when he came back from the test they left him on a gurney in the hallway for about an hour. They gave him a sling that was made for a child, and we kept asking for some type of pain medication since he cannot tell them himself due to his Alzheimer’s. My poor father was wincing in pain and kept trying to move his broken arm. Nurses are not reading the charts, we forever have to keep reminding them of his Alzheimer’s….the place is a joke and should be investigated or shutdown! Do yourself and any other loved one a favor and stay clear of this place! Go to another hospital!!!

I had a family member stay at this hospital twice over the past few months. All I have to say is God bless all of the nurses at Christ Hospital! They are angels on this planet doing God’s work. The patients would not stand a chance at healing without all of their hard work and dedication. May God protect and bless all of you nurses!

I was taken by ambulance to the ER here at Advocate Christ Medical Center and treated worse than an animal. I was shoved in a wheelchair while I was having horrible vertigo symptoms. I told the desk nurse I was so thirsty and had trouble speaking and no water cup was offered. I was rushed through triage and my vitals and ekg were normal but the vertigo continued for an hour as I was just shoved in a wating room of over 100 people. The nurses acted like arrogant narcissts and belong on a corny reality show. No one there knows what they are doing. The only kind man was the security guard who got me on.a shuttle bus to the front of the hospital so I could get out of there after my symptoms went away. The nurse was cocky and she seemed glad I was leaving and made some rude comment that I was not a priority with vertigo. So I guess their nurses take on the role of professional doctors to diagnose at Advocate Christ Medical Center of Oak Lawn. Avoid this place for any medical emergency it is disgusting the way they treal patients in their ER. I also did not like the way my Father was treated when he had his open heart surgery in September. I had to bring candy and donuts every day after his surgery because I knew he would be treated poorly like my Fiance was in hospice five years ago. It is horrible how they cut open my Father's leg that is still not healing properly for veins they did not even use in the bypass. I think some stupid medical student made the incision. I do not trust this hospital.

If I was able to give it no stars I would. We came to the emergency room with my husband having chest pains with him already knowing from previous tests that he does have three blocked arteries. We waited in the emergency waiting room four and a half hours .The emergency room doctor and nurse knew that this was a situation that needed immediate attention we were taken to a room and in the morning was supposed to be where he would have had the heart procedure to fix the three. Then he was told after not receiving any dinner except for a turkey sandwich and no breakfast that they were not going to do anything because they did not have his records. I had called his cardiologist his cardiologist said they could have done a sonogram to see where the blockages were they did absolutely nothing nothing at all. And I was told not knowing the area where to park and where to go which was wrong I'm handicapped myself and it was very hard on me doing all the walking that I had to do but I was not happy and neither is my husband for how this situation was treated by the supposedly best cardiac around I don't think so I will be from me I give them zero Stars I also forgot to mention that the nurse brought in a Trelegy inhaler for my husband and he used it and put it back in the container. It had 15 more doses left and my husband thought it was his to take home. Imagine how shocked he was when the nurse took it back. This is so unsanitary, his mouth was on the inhaler, it should have been his to take home. Gee, I wonder if that is going to be on the bill!!!!

I have not stepped foot in this hospital in at least 10 years to visit family or friends. I thought we were having a great experience, and this hospital was finally going to be able to change my negative perception of its overall operations and culture. Lots of remodeling should also bring a renewed spirit, right? Nope. From the time I brought my uncle in for all the necessary pre-op tests needed, we witnessed nothing but arguments between frustrated patients and staff. But even this wasn't concerning because people will be people. The thing that really ticks my clock was the demand for payment of my uncle's deductible. This was greater than his $40 co-pay, which we are always prepared for so this caught us totally off guard. From the two weeks prior when I called & scheduled all the tests needed, to the date of our arrival for his 4 appointments (all on the same day), no one gave any notice by mail, email, or phone that a payment in excess of $100 was expected. Aren't you legally required to provide an estimate? However, the lady who registered him was persistent to the point of making us uncomfortable when repeatedly asking for a credit card. I even asked if they could send us the bill (because he has great insurance and maintains his high credit rating, so he will no doubt pay). Her exact response TWICE was,"Well, they're asking for it," before saying that he should at least pay half on a card. This gave me the impression that they would refuse service as we desperately needed to know whether my uncle has cancer. As a last ditch effort to try and smooth things out, she gave us a card to call to talk to someone if we wanted to discuss the matter further. I decided a review was more appropriate. Once again, this ruined what I thought was a turnaround moment from all my other negative experiences. Everyone before & after that we encountered directly were great with us, but the culture hasn't been instilled in everyone, so there is still more work to do.

Go anywhere else but here. 12+ hours waiting time and still waiting. ZERO regard for patient care, they are not sympathetic, they dont care, we keep asking for pain medication that the doctor promised she will send to Pharmacy "soon" for my bf (that was 11am) - ive been calling the nurse to remind the meds i even go to the nursing station & they keep telling me SOON SOON SOON, about 3pm (4hrs of waiting) the nurse finally came up to us and she said "THE DOCTOR FORGOT" to submit the prescription to the pharmacy because unfortunately we are not the only one at the ER, which is understandable but what i cant understand is why the Doctor is so irresponsible (not to mention the IV bag takes 2hrs & i have to go remind them about it multiple times) my bf was very dehydrated & they know its urgent/important they also promised us we will be transferred to the room SOON (that was around 9am) I didnt know the SOON for them is 12hrs. When we keep asking we want to leave because this is torture for us, & it making the situation worst the nurse was like (for example theres a bed available now or in 5mins, are you gonna stay?) & we said yes then all of a sudden bed is available lol they're trying so hard to make us stay at the hospital but at the same time they enjoy torturing us... BUT it didnt end there, our last 45mins they took my boyfriend out the room and transfer his bed outside the room, just because they have to place someone else in his room (which i think is wrong) & they make us wait another hour or so (outside the room that we were originally staying) before they finally let us go... so total of around 14hrs PS: the dayshift nurse is very very rude and threatened to call the security if we dont stop asking for help LOL i thought thats what nurse are here for (cause i personally work in healthcare too and i care about my patients, i help them whenever they ask me to) We didnt get help from CNA too, just because they know my bf have me with him, i was the one who did what the CNA supposed to do

On July 23rd my elderly Aunt who has dementia was taken to Christ's hospital ER in mid afternoon from the nursing where she resides. My Aunt was released from ER at 2:30am. She was transported by the ambulances to return to the nursing home. However she was taken to the wrong address at 3am. The nurse who was on duty gave the transportation company the billing address instead of the nursing home address. Since this has happened I've tried to talk with someone about this matter. I keep getting the running around and no one will return my calls. I'm very disappointed in Christ hospital and their service has gone done tremendously.

I’m not from around here but had to go to the emergency room last night for a dog bite. Wait time was long as usual for the ER but Dr. Cox was very prompt in his treatment. Dr. Cox was pleasant, professional, knowledgeable, and personable, which are some of the best qualities for a doctor in my opinion. The wait time came from others being busy that had to help me with a tetanus shot and cleaning the wound. Once these were done the doctor came to see me right away and was able to take care of me. I had overheard that the ER was having a bad day but you couldn’t tell from the way Dr. Cox presented himself. Because of where I was, there was only curtains between me and the patients on each side of me. Dr. Cox saw them as well and treated them all respectfully, took their case seriously and came with answers for what was happening to them. I was in the ER for 4.5 hours but after the experience I had with Dr. Cox I didn’t mind the wait for the great care that I was given. At the end of the day, i had to wait but I left wishing Dr. Cox practiced in my area as a general practitioner.

Worst hospital ever! Arrived at Wednesday @ 1pm and it’s now after midnight the next day. Still not seen by a doctor & everyone has a lackadaisical attitude about the patients. People are in severe pain & the nurses are moving like slow as molasses! Never return to this hospital you won’t get medical the care you need in a timely fashion. What a sad hospital institution. The people are suffering and no one is here to administer pain medication. The triage door#1 that has the ability to do administer pain meds has been closed the entire time!

My friend had covid 2 years ago, and it was near the beginning of it when it started getting really bad. He caught covid at home from his friend, so it was definitely unfortunate. He was transferred to this hospital when the one he was in previously didn't have the equipment to keep him alive. He was in a coma for about 3 weeks to a month and had both sides of his lungs collapse. Thankfully, they were able to save him. It was such a scary process as I phone in almost every day to ask for his progress. I want to thank the nurses and doctors who were there during the stressful time. The medical bills came out to be very expensive since he doesn't have any health insurance or can't afford it to begin with. So now he's in tons of medical debt, which is the only downside. But I'm just happy he's alive and well.

The appointment time was kept. Seemed like I was only there for a short time. I would recommend Christ hospital. The nurse who started the IV was excellent. Didn’t feel a thing.

Would not wish our experience on my worst enemy. Pain medication refused for our mother- a dying of aggressive cancer hospice patient writhing and moaning in pain. The only direction was to make her comfortable, and they couldn’t even do that due to the ineptitude of their entire broken system, but especially nurse Felina D. not being able to correctly read a chart. Plus Felina D. complained to us about how busy she was and how we don’t know the kind of day she had, meanwhile we’re over here just trying to get our dying mother comfortable, in so much pain she can’t even talk, only to moan and beg for pain meds. I’ve shared our experience in great detail with hospital administrators and the AAH-ConsumerFeedback email and do you think I’ve received any type of response? Of course not- because no one here cares. Go anywhere else if you care about your experience for yourself or your loved ones. There are many better choices- Northwestern, Rush, UIC, Loyola, Edward Elmhurst, Silver Cross, etc.

There isn't enough space on here for me to say all the great things I have to say about my stay at the hospital. First, I want to shout out my team of Doctors who performed my surgery Thank you for saving me from that horrible pain I was dealing with. I'd never forget to shout out those that took care of me for 7 days. YOU ALL made my stay so comfortable, it was hard being there alone. The care, the conversations, the laughs, the kind words, all made me feel so welcome. Laura, Dominique, Leali, Helen are a few names I can remember but the entire 4W team are AMAZING. They have even been calling days after (thank you Jackie) my discharge to check on me. WOW!! Talk about Service!!! Thank you all so much for everything ❤️

Unbelievable, the level of service and the attention given to my wife and I was outstanding! Everyone was kind, patient, attentive, so professional and above all, they treated us with respect and compassion! The human kindness goes a long way, most places forgot about what that is!!! Well 5 stars and beyond to the teams that made our visit so pleasant, easy and welcoming! Thank you!

My mom was transferred to Christ from South Suburban Hospital for a procedure. The nursing staff was horrible. The communication is very poor and they are unprofessional. 10/19/23 Nurse Ana did not communicate with family. I had to call Muliple times (3) to try and secure info re: the ERCP my mom was do to have. By the time she returned my call, it was time for my mom to have the procedure. I made it clear in my 2nd call that we wanted a family member present which is why I needed to know the time of the procedure. I received a lot of misinformation. First, nothing had been scheduled for my mom, but minutes later, she will be having the procedure between 10am and 12pm. I never received a call from Ana to inform me that my mom's procedure was complete or any follow-up. I found out from a family friend who was visiting at the time, that my mom was scheduled to have surgery the next day. Still no follow-up from Ana. I called Ana and she confirmed that my mom was scheduled for surgery for 2:45pm. She indicated that my mom's gall bladder may have to be moved but the doctor won't know until he goes in. I later found out from the surgeon that the intent was always to remove the gall bladder. 10/20/23 Today in speaking with the surgeon Dr Thill, he indicated that the goal was to remove the gall bladder all the time. The new nurse (Dalia) called at 10:47am to confirm mom's surgery. She indicated that the time would be between 2 and 4pm. I informed her that I was told by Ana 2:45pm. She confirmed that it's between 2pm and 4pm. The same nurse called me at 1:05pm and stated that my mom had been taken into surgery. I inquired about the bad communication and she stated repeatedly that when a patient is alert and oriented times 4, usually the patient is only talked to. I questioned what mode of testing was implemented to determine that my mom was alert and oriented times 4. neither could Ashley (charge Nurse) or Dalia the Nurse tell me how this was determined. My mom stated she wasn't assessed. Nurse (Dalia) was unable to say where my mom was taken for surgery. She suggested that I wait in her room until she's done with surgery. I told her that I prefer to go to the waiting room where she's having surgery and asked where should we go. She told me "they don't tell us where they take the patients". She told us to go to the main entrance and and the front desk should be able to tell us. 10/21/23 Arrived at the hospital at 2:41pm. While visiting mom Hannah came in to do vitals and asked me if I had any questions. A Transporter moved 3 chairs and the garbage into the bathroom and left without putting them back. My mom needed to use the bathroom, I had to move those things out in order for her to get to the toilet. 10/22/23 Same bedding and gown since she was admitted. I asked for clean sheets and a clean gown for my mom. I changed her bed and assisted her with washing up and putting on a clean gown. My mom soiled her bed and was laying on a mattress pad and with the same 2 sheets over her. They were aware of her soiling the bed because they gave her some underwear. My mother complained about Staff not checking in on her for hours and also them sleeping at night. 10/25/23 at 8:03am spoke with Kristen (Nurse Manager/7S) about mom's lack of care (no bed change or clean gown until Sunday 10/22/23 when I asked for clean sheets and a fresh gown for my mom and I changed the bed and assisted her in washing up and changing into a clean gown. Informed Kristen about the lack of communication with family regarding mom's health while in hospital. She maintained that if patient is alert and oriented times 4, the staff could choose to talk to mom and mom would be responsible for relating the info to us. I informed her that no one has been able to say how my mom was assessed to make this determination. She stated they usually ask a series of questions. I informed her that my mom stated she wasn't asked any questions and neither have any staff indicated that they actually conducted an assessment with my mom.

Would like to give it a zero, but wouldn’t let me. My brother’s doctor sent him to the hospital. He has been there for 11 hours without seeing a doctor. That is ridiculous! He has already had tests in the waiting room. It would take someone 5 minutes to read those results and send him home with a prescription or admit him. Get some help! Does he have to pass out again to get help?

This is strictly about the ER management. I don’t know what you guys issues are but having people wait the amount of time you are having them wait is utterly ridiculous. I understand the important cases first. However no one should be waiting 4,5,6,7 plus hours. There should be 3 teams a high priority team, a mid priority team, and a low priority team.

Susan Dillon..just came back from having an out patient colonoscopy .. despite the undesirability of this procedure .. was a truly positive experience. I was terrified. Was treated with kindness, respect and exceptional good care. I am a retired nurse and an able bodied critic.. this place and my experience was phenomenal. highly recommend

Heather from STIC was absolutely amazing to me. She was with me the most during my stay in STIC and every single night I had her I was at complete ease. She would help calm me down during such a traumatic & emotional time. One time nothing else was going on and she held my hand while I got stitches because I was scared. She really is an incredible nurse and will go above and beyond for you. 100/10 from me. I do want to show some appreciation towards my surgeons and doctors as they were kind and did an amazing job as well.

!!!Well I should have learned from a year ago being here arrived at ER with my mom for breathing issues and low oxygen levels I don’t know why I came back here however even after realizing levels were low we sat in ER for 7 hours the issue about this is there were only a handful of people in the ER this is for the owner!! Either staff your hospital correctly or close it down!! No sense in being here if you don’t care which is obvious to everyone!!! All you care about is financial gain not people you hope when you are on your death bed you come to your hospital!! I’m sure you won’t like it

My labor and delivery and stay was absolutely amazing and comfortable . As a first time Mom, I had a great experience at Christ. I started off just getting a non stress test due to me being 40 weeks and 3 days. I ended up getting admitted and from there, everyone, staff, nurses, Doctors, cleaning crew, I mean I can go on and on about the great hospitality and care that me and my family received through our experience from Friday morning until Tuesday afternoon. All the nurses, Anesthesiologist, Doctors put in great effort to accommodate anything I needed and were quick getting me what I needed. I am truly grateful and appreciative of Christ for delivering me a beautiful and healthy baby girl and taking excellent care of us. You all are doing a great Job. My family Thank you Christ hospital !

From my check in through my procedure (outpatient carpal tunnel and Cubital tunnel surgery), to my recovery the staff at Christ Hospital in Oaklawn were just amazing. Truly I thank God for all those that were assigned to my treatment. They all operated with such professionalism, concern, and care for me as a patient with a spirit of excellence. Truly they were a God send. Thank you all so much and I pray that you will continue to operate in that vein towards every patient.

Last Saturday, my brother was in their waiting room for sevetal hours, feeling extremely weak, feverish, runny nose, cough etc.. left unmasked & sitting in a w/c for several hours, eventually he left disgusted with the lack of care. Next day he tested positive for Covid.

Took my 3 year old daughter here and I had a great experience from the ER all the way up to us being admitted for the night into hope. The Nurses/student nurses, Dr’s and NP’s were all very observant of my child and I really felt that they cared. Thanks to the pediatrics team for taking care of us. She’s all better now.

Been here for 12 hours SO FAR! This er is absolutely terrible! I ask how many people in front of me and they say 13, 1. hour later it's 12, an about after that it's still 12, an hour after that it's 10. So now I ask why other people are being taken before me and the nurse actually said " other people are more critical "! Mind you the triage nurse told me to go to the er because it sounds as if I may have had a stroke. Last I checked but thats pretty serious! No compassion by these nurses towards one single person in here. You're lucky if they even look at you while they are mumbling under their stupid mask!

I went to Christ Medical Hospital for a day surgery procedure and it was an verry professional atmosphere and very clean rooms. From the front desk clerk to the very helpful and supportive nurses, transport team and professional care of all the people that took care of me was the such an comforting experience that I had. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who needs the very best care for your medical needs.

My rating is for an outpatient procedure. All went well besides a small incident in the procedure room concerning some wires and cables intangling with those connected to my person. Got to watch out with the sloppiness of how the countless wires are kept. Also was asked to come in earlier due to some cancelations and I did two and a half hours earlier. But ended up waiting till my regular appointment time anyhow. That wasn't nice.

I am a patient of the adult medicine group, I took a Covid test on Sunday which was positive. I called the office hoping to get into see a doc. I was told first available was next Tuesday? Why are they overbooking doctor’s appointments so that when you’re sick you can’t get in to see a doctor? No wonder the ER is overcrowded when no one can get in to see their actual doctor! This is part of the reason why we are having a healthcare crisis! Advocate Christ is more concerned about the bottom line, instead of patient care!

Outstanding care from the entire staff performing the biopsy. Virtually no pain in the thyroid biopsy process. The professional performing the ultrasound was exceptional. She was a “gem”, kept me calm and answered all of my questions.

My husband Bernie recently was being taken care of at Christ Hospital and I can't explain how wonderfully he was taken care of from the ER to the ICU unit. He was given such wonderful care with dignity and respect from everyone who took care of him. There was 1 doctor that should be repremanded for his actions but why have one person put a bad mark on all who took care of Bernie. Thank you all who looked after Bernie.
