I joined FFC in 2014. It was a comfortable gym with a wide variety of equipment, and good locations. I signed up for the Gold Coast location, the West Loop location, and the Union Station location. I enjoyed the vibe of the gym. In 2017, I felt that the service had dropped dramatically, especially at the West Loop location. Their standard for cleanliness was not keeping pace with the number of members. When I went to the gym, I noticed that usually one out of three towels had some weird yellow or black stuff on it. I saw people cleaning their shoes with the towels and others sneezing into the towels. Towels on the floor were a frequent sight. The steam rooms and showers were extremely slippery with soap water. The water fountains were stained. The gym was very crowded around the noon hour and after five PM, which made health problems even worse. This is my first review, because I usually don’t write reviews. However, I think FFC has gone too far. I feel that it is my responsibility to let others know so that they can avoid running into a similar situation. In early October of 2018, I took a shower at the West Loop location. They had put bleach inside the Shampoo bottle. Thinking that it was shampoo, I put bleach all over my hair and body, which began to burn. Before I realized it wasn't shampoo, the bleach went inside my eyes. I double-checked with the gym manager and she confirmed that there was bleach inside the shampoo bottle. I had to visit my doctor to make sure everything was ok. The general manager at the West Loop location never offered an apology. I emailed their head of operation/general manager, and they offered me three months' worth of free dues and claimed it was a very “generous” offer, even though it didn't even cover my doctor’s fee. They never took it seriously or found how it had happened. One manager even hinted that it might be someone targeting me… Those kinds of replies just left me feeling that it would happen again. It would be just matter of time, I figured, so I decided to let people who were considering signing up with them to know how my experience has been. It might not be a good choice for you to join FFC, and you should probably reconsider. I hope my horrible experience can help you avoid a similar occurrence. Great gym and great staff. It is clean and never too crowded. I unfortunately had to cancel my membership due to moving and had trouble with the cancellation process with the billing department. But Kevin, the manager, took care of it for me with no problem. I would highly recommend this gym!

I loved this gym when I first joined. Until I went to cancel during Covid. Be warned that the billing service anytime fitness uses is abc fitness solutions. Therefore if you are deciding to sign a contract, cancelling is near impossible unless you are moving 25 mi + or have a serious medical condition and provide them with detailed documentation. Why would I need to provide the gym I PAY with personal identifying medical information? Such unethical cancellation policies. I hope this review helps you make a more informed choice for a gym. I rarely write reviews, but this experience left me massively disappointed and frustrated. (Response to owner): To what extent? I’ve spoken with Kevin and it is clear that you are not able or willing to help unless I remove my review. Instead of asking me to contact the club, you can contact me with a satisfactory solution. Given the current pandemic, one would expect reasonable accommodations to be made for people feeling uncomfortable visiting a small indoor facility. While my contract technically began in January, I joined when you guys first opened on chicago Ave. I was so excited about your gym being in my Blue Cross membership program. However months after I was told that you all stopped being a part of that program. I mistakenly signed an unethical gym contract and am super disappointed in your customer service. Y’all should be appalled.

The gym is tiny, but clean, and relatively well equipped for the size. The membership fees are also very competitive compared to nearby gyms. However, I would strongly recommend anyone who is thinking about joining to avoid signing up for any contract or recurring payment. I am moving out of town in September, and my contract was set to expire in August. I initially contacted the gym owner to let them know I did not want to renew, they said it shouldn't be a problem and asked me to contact ABC Financial. Unfortunately, ABC Financial appears to be run entirely by Indian call center workers and emails set to auto reply. I have tried calling a few times, and been yelled at, ignored, disconnected, and the last time I tried to call and ask for a manager they told me no and hung up on me. I have tried sending emails which were either ignored, or just contained stock replies that I could only cancel my membership due to a very limited set of documented medical or personal reasons. As suggested in the stock emails, I tried sending mailed notices asking not to renew my membership. These were also ignored. I was only able to garner a response after sending a certified letter. However, even after all of this trouble, they are still refusing to stop my auto-renewal as stipulated in my contract. For some inexplicable reason, they claim I need to make additional payments through the end of the year. I sent them a copy of my contract which clearly states my contract ends in August and asked for an explanation. Unsurprisingly, my additional emails and calls have been ignored. I apologize for the rant, but months of frustration, frequent calls, emails and letters are not worth the reduced gym membership fees. I would gladly go back to paying double the price at the Chicago Athletic Clubs to avoid this Kafkaesque nightmare of a billing service.

I’ve been going to this gym for over a year and half and I love it. It’s on the smaller side, but packed with free-weights and machines, more so than other commercial gyms and it’s at a fair price. There are 4 squat racks which was one of the main reasons I signed up. They have a good variety of cardio equipment, but don’t have the dozens and dozens of machines that most big box gyms have (which frankly is part of the appeal here for me). It’s kept clean, organized, has plenty of bathrooms with showers, and access is managed with a fab so you can get a workout in 24/7. Lastly the staff is wonderful and attentive. The few interactions I’ve had with them are always polite and pleasant. West Town has plenty of gyms to pick from, but this one is far and away the best bang for your buck when considering free weights, staff and facilities.

Two weeks ago, the West Loop location decided to decrease water pressure in the showers to save a few bucks and now FFC corporate bean counters are fielding complaints as a result. I have to say I am beyond perturbed by the fact I am paying $80 per month and can't even take a decent shower postworkout. It took management four months to replace the only leg extension machine after it malfunctioned and who knows what arises next that us members will have to digest months of belabored excuses for unacceptable outcomes. FFC West Loop is a dressed up version of Xsport or LA Fitness and costs almost 50% more on a monthly basis. If conditions do not improve, I plan to cancel my membership at the end of pool season (during which I will not be buying any of their $6 warm beers poolside).

It’s a great gym. It’s simple, clean, the staff is helpful and the gym has quality equipment. They also have a solid heavy bag, which was a priority for me. I’ve been a member of seven gyms due to moving cities.

Came across this gym not too long after it opened. I love it! It's a smaller boutique gym, but has everything I need to get a great workout it. It's not crowded when I go (I don't go during 5-7pm rush hour when everyone is at the gym). The manager knows me by name is that is a plus. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the gym.

Overall gym space and equipment is very clean and well kept. staff is very friendly and always greets you with a smile. Chill environment

Great location fir any UK villager. Nice staff and not too busy plenty of choices for a smaller gym. One not great thing is that's it's extra, and staff has to be present to use the massage chairs.

I love the way this club is set up. It has a fabulous women's locker room, shower's, hair dryers, steam room, my goodness. The Manager, Rev. Michael Gorrell is the host of host. Loved his mannerism. I would recommend this establishment to all who want to get in shape year round. Kudos to FFC West Loop.

*Revised review* The space is too small and gets busy at peak hours making it impossible to really workout. It’s ok when it’s not busy. Month to month price tag of $69 could be much better especially for this location. I’ve been to many AF, and this one is my least favorite just due to the small space. Typical AF equipment - new and good variety.

While I continue to come here often, I’m very disappointed at FFC’s enforcement of their mask policy. I have spoken to management numerous times in the last few months about members not adequately following the policy (members wearing their masks only over their noses, or walking around with them on their chin), and while they say they do walkthroughs to enforce the rule, I am currently next to someone on my left with their nose out, and on my right who is an FFC employee not addressing this. While I do like the club’s equipment for the most part and believe this is only and issue during the pandemic, I still consider this a major failure on the part of FFC management, especially for the steep cost of membership.

West loop is my favorite location. All FFCs are great though. Covid precautions are in full swing and I feel comfortable getting back to the gym!

I mostly go to swim here and the pool is really nice except for one of the ends being too shallow (perhaps 3 ft). Need to be careful crawling on that end. Flip turns are also pretty tricky yet not impossible. But other than that it's very nice. 6 lanes. Very nice lighting - love coming there after dark, the room lighting is somewhat dim but there is plenty of lights under the water. It creates really calm, mind relaxing atmosphere. Though during daytime it's pleasant too - there is a sunroof so one can enjoy swimming in a sunlight.

Trainers and staff are nice. Females are ok. Male patrons are unnecessarily aggressive, and douchey.

My favorite of the FFC's because of the rooftop pool. You just cant compere with that in the summer.

Nice place to work out. It has an outdoor open air 1500 sq foot crossfit studio for functional workout. Very healthy environment here. All trainers n team are very friendly, kind n helpful. Premier quality equipments which give good results

Best Chi Gym

Signed up in August w/ Active and Fit Direct, and provided keyfob. Masks are required during COVID, and I haven't seen any pushback in the 6 months of visits. Nice. Clean and private shower rooms. Started coming here on weekends primarily to use the Concept2 rower. So much better than water rowers. Lots of free weights and racks if you use them. Functional area w/ sandbags too, but normally reserved for a class.

I signed up for a 6 weeks work out challenge with a personal trainer, by the name Roberto. And it is the Best Investment I have ever made! I no longer have a problem with sluggish energy, foggy brain and the need to take a nap. Roberto is very patient, super positive and super humane. He inspires me to get out of my comfort zone without ever forcing me. The sets of exercises are very interactive and far from being monotonous or boring (which was my concern as I tend to get bored very fast).

The gym itself is well equipped, always very clean and bonus - they play great music!

I went here once when my usual FFC at Union Station's steam was out. Nice facility, people are definitely there to be seen. As a married guy(grateful to be out of that race) it can be a lot.

With steadily increasing rates for current members (10% every 6 mos) and overcrowding during peak hours, I'm not sure the price tag is worth it anymore unless perhaps you make good use of the classes and amenities. It's not a bad gym by any means, but the value proposition for typical gymgoers probably isn't there compared to the competition in the area.

I have been a member of many gyms over the years. This is by far the best gym I have ever been a member of. Facilities are very well maintained from the exercise equipment to the locker room. Private lockers, laundry service, and complimentary monthly massage with some membership plans. The steam room is favorite way to relax after a workout and before the daily grind. All of the small things FFC provides to differentiate itself from other gyms add up. Love this place.

Good facility, 1 heavy bag, 25yrd pool, 3 lifting platforms, lots of cardio machines, large yoga/dance studio. The only downside is that membership is expensive.

This gym has all of the equipment and facilities you could ask for. In my experience, even at peak hours you never have to wait more than 5-10 minutes to squat / bench. 24/5 hours are really nice as well

Sales trap beware! Signed up about 90 days ago and they had a promotion with my company where they told me I get my $140 membership fee back after 30 check ins within 90 days. It's approaching the 90days mark and I check in with another rep, no!no!no! You gotta check in 36 times not 30. You got check in on different days, morning workout and evening count as one. You don't get your money back, you get it toward services not even toward membership. I was unsure about this gym because the reviews and prices but the rep talked me into believing I can get the 140 back with 30 check ins within 90 days. Guys I travel for work 4 days out of the week, and FFC loop closes at 9:30 and 8 on the weekends. 36 check ins for 90 days? It was literally impossible to accommodate my work schedule to begin with. Save your money and go somewhere else! I had great experience with Lakeview athletic association where they provided the same equipment and no deceiving advertising.

Great gym, I love what they've done with the space. But I have to take a star off for the indoor pool. If you're taller than 5'10" it's too shallow to do laps in which makes it basically useless. Very disappointed.

I have been a FFC member for 3 years and had a great experience. Its been a pleasant experience here thanks to the trainers. Paul Meyers (Personal Trainer) has made my swimming learning experience really pleasant and easy. Would definitely recommend this gym and the trainer for anyone who would like to learn swimming.

Brand new gym. Nice and clean and friendly staff. I was one of the first people to sign up for this branch, and the owner (KD) was extremely helpful. We are happy about the location being close to home since there are not that many proper gyms in West Town. Considering the great location and fair pricing of the club, the gym doesn't get too crowded, and even if it does, they have enough equipment to get your workout down.

I had a great time belonging to this gym while I lived in West Town. The people were very nice and the equipment was top-notch. Kevin, the manager of the gym was outstanding. He knew everyone's name, always would make time to answer questions, and genuinely cared about the well-being of the both the gym and the members. All around great experience, I'd recommend it to anyone in the area.

This Anytime Fitness is great! It is in a prime location and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The manager Marqwan Davidson is very good at explaining the different plans they offer! The owners and staff are very involved in making this gym a good experience for all and they even leave nice messages and tips on their Instagram page @anytimefitnesswesttown. The gym is well kept and anytime I have questions or concerns they are always there to help!
