Silver Lake is amazing. If you live in DuPage county or surrounding area, and looking for a quick spot to break away from the metro suburban, city drama. This is one of few places around you can get a great taste of nature. Very easy to get to I live in GH, and in 30 min can be in a kayak on a lake with awesome scenery that was formed by a glacier 10,000 years ago. I have seen fisher men being pulled in they're kayaks by the fish there. Good clean honest to goodness fun...

I’m have a good time here and I my personal best bass here caught. Also I’m a die hart fishing freak and the Forest Preserve people are really cool and nice it like a home away from home for me here.

It’s a wonderful quiet lake where I take my kayack- I wish it was bigger and had more wind at times but for a few hours of relaxation it’s perfect! $5 a day or get a season pass for $30. You can bring your own boat or rent kayacks and canoes and fishing boats. They let you paddle board here too!

$10/hour for a canoe or kayak isn't bad at all. A small lake, but still a nice little area to paddle around in

Great place for Kayaking and fishing. A lot of people are here every time we visit. The water is clean and people say the fishes caught are good for steam. You may also spend a whole day here, hiking, picnicking, and biking. There are also camp grounds and archery in this park.

Place is phenomenal, outstanding views, wildlife, and many activities available. Park is well maintained as well as Green. Overall an amazing park.

The staff here were great with my youngest daughter. This was her first time kayaking and she was very anxious. They made she she felt comfortable in the kayak and that she would have a good time. And she absolutely did!
