I have mixed feelings about this hotel. First of all, it is not the hotel Mayaland Hotel & Bungalows. So if you were expecting this beautiful hotel a few steps from the pirámides, you will be hugely disappointed. I found this hotel in Google maps and after reading the reviews, I decided to go for it. I clicked on the internet page provided by Google maps to make the reservation, then I was send to the Mayaland Hotel & Bungalows home page. So far everything is ok. But be carefull, read everything in the internet page, because you will think that you are making a reservation in the Mayaland Hotel & Bungalows advertised in Google maps, instead you are making a reservation in the hotel Chichen Itza. Which is another hotel located in another place. We found out a night before our reservation, that the hotel Mayaland Hotel & Bungalows is actually shut down. And we were told that our reservation is for the hotel Chichen Itza located in the town of Pisté. Also there were some red flags, in the internet page, the address for the hotel Chichen Itza is km120 highway Merida-Cancun, which is very confusing, thinking that the hotel is directly at the highway. The real address is Calle 15, #45 in Pisté. The hotel Chichen Itza is actually nice, has a very good restaurant and nice pool, but it is not the Mayaland Hotel & Bungalows advertised in Google maps!

Horrible place. I don't even know where to start. My experience here was awful. They had roaches everywhere. There were roaches in the closet, several crawling the wall, several came from behind the mirror, and to top it off, found some dead ones in the refrigerator. The room phone had a few crawling on it. Do not go there!

Came here as part of lunch package for Chichén Itzá and was in awe of this property. Really excellent looking hotel and food was fantastic. Service was good as waiter took great care of us. If staying in area, best to book here.

We received a package deal to see the Mayan ruins and have a lunch included. Honestly, I had low expectations. However, the Mayaland Hotel restaurant and staff blew the four of us men (my father, and two sons) completely out of the water. The ambiance was first class. Every bite of food exploded with flavor! It was a true 4 course meal. Even our 5 star resort didn’t make food that tasted as good. Don’t miss the opportunity to eat here. I can’t imagine not staying on a ocean front resort, but if I did, this is the place! Simply a gem!

Gorgeous hotel as close to the historical site as you can get. Was extremely quiet when we were there. Food was nothing special and wifi in the room would have been nice, for now it's only in the lobby. They closed the on site proprietary enterance to the park, but it's only a 5 minute drive.

This place is so beautiful! It is full of history and the views are amazing. The staff was so generous and kind, the Yucatan dishes were delicious, and the place was super cozy. I definitely would recommend staying here! You can see chichen itza from your balcony!! If you want a more relaxed place to stay this place is paradise!

They tricked us and told us this was the main entrance for Chichen Itza - charged us $1,000 pesos a person for an entrance fee with no tour, and said it would be $3700/person for a tour. Beware!!!!!!

I got a day pass to park and go to Chichen Itza. It totally works the price. They will drive you to the front and take you all the way to the gate to access Chichén Itzá. The day pass includes a delicious meal, and they have great service. I was very impressed, and I do totally recommend getting easy access to the Mayan pyramids. They also helped me to book a tour guide, and who was very knowledgeable and helpful, responding all my questions. I have the best lime soup at their restaurant and I did try it in other famous Merida restaurants and the flavor was not close to the Mayanland place.

We had a wonderful room with the large hot tub that looked out with a balcony over the jungle that was next to the Mayan ruins. The entire site is beautiful, built in a villa style from the 1920's. Besides the hotel rooms, there are bungalow rooms that look beautiful as well but those were closed as we were there during the quiet season. It is literally on the doorstep to the Chichen Itza ruins and you can see the tops of the ruins from the hotel. It seems like you could walk to the ruins if you wanted to from the hotel but we chose to drive to the main entrance. Would be nice if you could walk into the ruins at sunrise before they opened to the general public. There is also a great restaurant on site that served a great dinner and breakfast. Nice pool as well, although as others have mentioned there are a few things that look a little run down or dated and it could probably use a bit of maintenance on some elements.

Got offered this package while following the Chichén Itzá GPS. They charged me $60 per person for a ride to the front of the entrance of Chichén Itzá. And access to this facility. Access: the pool was nice. Shaded half the pool with a tree. Little bit of trash. No people at all the time we went Food: was great! Cochinita pibil and chicken fajitas were on point and fresh. Authentic food.

My stay at Mayaland was quite a mixed bag. To start with the positives, the grounds and hotel itself are beautiful and the views of the caracol from the front door and our bedroom were amazing. The room was large and decently comfortable and the staff was initially welcoming. The maids did a great job at turn over of the room. As soon as we had checked in, they had begun a pretty aggressive ploy to get us to agree to an expensive guided tour of Chichen Itza the next morning. The room, while large and beautifully furnished had some dated plumbing fixtures and a dual tub with a massive open window view of the caracol. The blinds however didn’t work, creating the possibility of a “free show” to anyone entering the property via car or bus. The rooms generally are well ventilated and by this I mean there are large screens with wooden slats in the walls and doors. Literally no sonic privacy, we had the courtesy of being kept up by loud music from the rear of the sprawling property, being woken up by people having phone conversations in the hall way and disturbed by the cries of the children down the hall. Closing the slats does not solve this problem. I’m sure every word spoken by my wife and I in the room could be heard by anyone nearby walking past. The bar has limited selection and prices are bit high compared to Valladolid or Izamal. Still, it’s hard to sneeze at an ice cold modelo after a long day in the Yucatán. The food is honestly quite average but they will charge you an amount that would suggest it’s an upscale experience. It is not. The single meal I ate was a set menu option that included some room temperature chicken fajitas. The wait staff seemed to become increasingly short and abrupt over the course of the meal and I couldn’t explain why as we did not voice any complaints and were trying to be polite and cheerful. Due to the price, service and quality we opted to eat off site the remainder of our stay. The strange vibe extends to some of the other staff as well, leading you to wonder if you caused some offense by trying to stay here. The state of the hotel suggests that it once supported many more options, pizza ovens, on premise stores and shops and exhibits, and other amenities never opened during our stay. But so many areas show signs of lack of maintenance or support. In summary: beautiful if dated environs, location is quite good if you want to visit the ruins, but they know they have you isolated and will use this as an excuse to over charge and under deliver in many areas

Wonderful hotel in the middle of the jungle. Breakfast is good, I love their Huevos Motuleños, pools are great, and they have a special access to the archeological site :-)

We stopped here for an amazing dinner after a guided tour of chitzen itza. The service, the atmosphere, the food, everything was amazing. I hope to go back someday and stay a few nights. Absolutely wonderful.

I was here for lunch. I purchased a ticket for Chichen Itza and lunch was included with my purchase. I chose to have a mixture of the plates they offered. It was so good. It was a 3 course meal. The sofa de lima was so good. I had a coconut type jello, I could have gone without. Just not what I liked, not that it tasted bad. While I waited for my ride back to my car, I walked around the area and just thought the place was very beautiful and well taken care of. Would like to come back as a guest.
