This
is
a
gem
hidden
in
Chiclana
de
la
Frontera,
a
small
town
20
Km
south-east
from
Cádiz
in
Spain.
But
first,
let
me
explain
what´s
in
the
name.
Would
you
go
to
a
barber's
called
'The
Barbarism'
or
'The
Inhumanity'
for
a
straight
razor
shaving?
That´s
precisely
the
meaning
of
'La
Barbarie'
in
Spanish.
Even
more.
There
is
a
double
play
on
words
since
a
barber's
is
'Barbería'
in
Spanish
which
happens
to
be
an
anagram
of
'Barbarie'.
Genial.
That
immediately
showed
me
that
there
was
a
brilliant
mind
behind
it.
So
it
was.
Although,
before
showing
it
to
you,
I
have
to
explain
the
context
first.
My
visits
took
place
during
the
final
phase
of
the
first
wave
of
the
COVID-19
pandemic.
That
meant
clearly
strict
previous
reservation
and
extreme
hygienic
measures.
OK.
First
encounter:
38
C
outside.
I
opened
the
door
and
found
a
very
spacious
room
with
classical
barber´s
seats,
discretely
mixed
with
high-tech
bachelor
pad
artefacts.
All
the
room
for
me.
No
other
persons
waiting.
No
crowd.
No
rush.
The
temperature
was
refreshing
and
perfect.
I
went
for
the
straight
razor
shaving.
At
this
time,
we
clearly
stopped
talking.
This
is
a
young
man
but
the
shaving
was
meticulous,
skin
preserving
and
perfect.
After
some
time
I
closed
my
eyes,
and
I
noticed
it.
The
music.
Not
invasive.
Wrapping
you
up
from
all
directions.
Blues
and
electric
guitar.
Clearly
a
coincidence.
But
in
several
moments
the
picking
and
riffs
in
the
guitar
resonated
with
the
razor
movements.
At
that
moment
I
recognized
his
mind
brilliancy.
He
has
embraced
the
classical
barber´s
concept
and
elevated
it
to
a
new
level
by
creating
truly
a
spa
experience
by
a
wise
combination
with
music
and
great
atmosphere
where
you
sit
at
the
centre.
No
other
distractions.
Incredible.
Even
the
inevitably
reservation
calls,
were
wisely
and
easily
handled
by
a
discrete
in-ear
headset.
Brilliant.
And
the
music,
that
music,
still
resounds
in
my
skin.
Dan
Patlansky.

Things

Down.
