This is an honest review so before you stay in this place please know it is NOT a 5 star hotel. Pools are extremely cold and don't have heating systems, so if you don't come in the summer, forget it. The jacuzzis outside are COLD , jacuzzis are NOT heated. You would expect with the high winds in Cadiz they could at least have heated pools or jacuzzi. (It's a joke) The only heated pool is the indoor pool and when you want to relax, it is not possible as everyone is in that pool because the other ones are freezing, so it is very crowded especially in the late afternoon. The food is overpriced and the cuisine is not very tasty. Our terrace door did not even lock. Very insecure for my family and I. They fixed it the next morning but anything can happen on a Friday night. Don't think the spa is free because you're a guest, you pay for every single thing in this hotel even if you pay 400+ a night. Very disappointed and my friends and followers will not come back here. I will make sure I post this on every social media platform.

Like: We took a room with a balcony, the room was large, spacious and clean. There were excellent breakfasts and dinners, every day a new cuisine, everything is very tasty and there is a lot of choice. If you plan to go somewhere for dinner, you can change dinner for lunch and go on an excursion in the afternoon. Very large territory of the hotel, there is where to walk and the ocean is very close. Did not like: In some restaurants, a tip of 10 euros is immediately added to the bill, without warning. Usually it's a tip for bread that is served even though you haven't eaten it.

Everything about this place is good, but you must never come to this resort as their food is absolutely inedible. It's been 5 days we have been here. Everyday they serve cheap ingredients prepared terribly. Their chefs probably didn't even finish culinary school. They served food processor potato mash one night. Brilliant! Tonight it's Mexican night and they have the worst food you can imagine for a 5 star resort. Plates of cold mushy nachos everywhere. Who wants to eat these garbage?

On arrival, no concierge helped us with the luggage. We were not escorted to our room and the lift which we were supposed to take was not working, I asked the cleaner who was nearby and she just replied saying that "this morning was working"; once I asked how I could get to my room she told me to go through the stairs, I was with 2 pieces of luggage and a baby in the stroller. At the pools my wife asked for 2 beds to be placed next to the pools for kids, the staff replied that we would get only one bed and when he was heading to the kids' pool, once he realized he had to go down the stairs he refused and force us to be next to the pool for adults which made hard for us to supervise our child. I tried to book the babysitter service in order to book the spa and then dinner at the top restaurant of the structure, the reception connected me with the babysitter service but no one answered. When I called back to the reception, they couldn't help me and told me to try to contact them on a WhatsApp number. The day after I tried to book the Atunante restaurant via the reception but I was told it is fully booked, however, we managed to book it via google book service (so if you are a guest you are told is busy, but if you do via the internet you can get a table!), with great surprise the restaurant was totally empty, and when I tried to order the wine (top wine in the menu for 190 euros) I was told they don't serve it anymore, I went for a second bottle and they didn't have it either. Overall the gardens and structure are very nice; however the staff is far below the standard you would expect from a 5 stars hotel anywhere else I have been, in fairness restaurants and bars are not expensive at all, but dishes and drinks are very basic. It feels to be in a resort where they care more about the number of people than quality.

Checked in today, very nice hotel with friendly staff, beautiful rooms with beautiful views. We booked a room with lateral sea view.

Amazing hotel with very helpful and a lot of staff. Rooms are spacious and beds very comfortable. Food menu at buffet changed daily and gardens were beautiful. Would definitely stay again as not super busy and very good value for money.

10 vacation. The rooms are well decorated, the buffet was amazing. For breakfast there was a fresh juice bar to order. We had Asian night with sushi and an over-the-top seafood night with the most fresh fish, tuna tartar, crab and every shellfish. Very, very generous. All the staff are polite, easy-going and wanting to please. The beach is spectacular and on an off day practically virgen. The garden is sooo relaxing and at night you can here the waterfalls, frogs and the waves from the ocean.

A perfect lunch and day with my family! The food at beach club is high quality and tasty. You might think it's pricey, but the presentation, quality and the size of the portions make it worthy. The personnel is extremely kind and professional, and always willing to help. Follow their recommendations, they won't disappoint. Special mention to Carmen and Quique, who made sure we had everything we needed, thank you! The atmosphere is from another world, surrounded by nature, light and nice music. They're also very good with kids, and even though it's a 5* hotel, they're quite to the ground and good-natured. Don't forget to walk their gardens and spot the turtles and frogs in the lilly ponds if you go with kids!

Wonderful hotel. Staff is very welcoming and friendly and attended to every little need we had during our three day stay. Best breakfast in the world. Dinner is OK but I wouldn’t be able to do it for longer than three nights (quite the same options every night). Very big and spacious rooms, mattress, and towels, and pillows are excellent, couldn’t get any better !

I’ve been to a lot of hotels in my life but this one was one of the most beautiful! The gardens are just breathtakingly stunning! I’d love to visit again in a warmer period when I can use the outdoor pools. And visit the spa. And eat at all the restaurants. 😄 Staff is very helpful. They can accommodate most anything. Even made vegan food for me in the pool restaurant. (Pictured). The rooms are nice. It’s not super close to outside restaurants and shops so I’d rent bikes or a car. I think this is one of the last hotels (farthest away) in this region but it gives you a nice private feeling. Walks on the beach are great here. The only thing we found strange is that air conditioning + fridge don’t work in April (only in summer?). I still wanted cool water though. 😀

Absolutely stunning hotel with incredible vistas around every turn. Our company held a conference here recently. Perhaps it was the off-season, but we had virtually the entire place to ourselves. Even at busy times there's room on it's ample grounds including many, many pools. The garden prominade is simply stunning and the proximity to the beach unmatched. Highly recommend a stay here.

Great place to relax and forget your hustle life. Great environment too to bring your kids along. They have separate swimming pools, so no worries to cross with them on the pool 😉

We had a fantastic 4 night stay. Everything was 5 star. The evening buffet was very good. With a huge variety of food to cater for all nationalities. Rooms were fantastic and only 10 minutes away from a gorgeous beach.Would certainly recommend.

Lovely hotel with fantastic amenities and very family friendly. The rooms are spacious and very well finished each with a lovely terrace. The common gardens are spectacular as are the different swimming pools. We particularly enjoyed the food, especially at the Beach Club, and the great service from Ismael. Definitely worth the money and we will be coming back

The hotel was incredible and the attention from the staff was exceptional!! The selection of different-themed foods daily was amazing and delicious!! The pools and gardens were beautiful!! And the spa was out of this world!! Only negative would be that there was no proper entertain at night, perhaps as it was now September they could have had at least someone singing live on Friday and Saturday! But an overall wonderful 5 days and will definitely go back again!!

The hotel and location was truly amazing, unfortunately this can’t be said about the services. I do not think I have ever seen such lazy and uninterested personal, especially in restaurants and hotel bar’s. The only exception was Chez Lumier, where the service was good, but one rather had to double check the bill - in our case we were heavily overcharged on champagne. Rest of the venues had in general very lazy and unhelpful personal, we got used to their 0 interest in case you needed some help - i.e. spilled juice or similar small accident that happens when you are traveling with small kids. The waitress would look at you and keep doing some useless things like polish glasses that were never used, but they would never try to help. It was sort of tragicomic experience seeing crew of waitresses talking between themselves and us trying to get their attention. It is a pity that service personal at such a nice place is not train properly. Not sure whether Barcelo has some hotels in Sound east Asia or middle East, but it would be worth to send them for training over there or bring some managers that has proper experience. I am not even going to mention experience with my “lost” wallet, which has disappeared during we were moved from one room to another right after our arrival. Ps.: check the menu from one of the main restaurants it is so amusing :-)

Excellent hotel! Beautiful gardens, clean pools, bed very comfortable and the large bathroom is well equipped. Few mins walk to the beach. The spa is huge with loads of different pools and saunas etc, honestly it's hard to find fault in this place.

We really enjoyed our stay. The food was delicious, not authentic but creative. Each night there was a different theme for the dinner and the variation was great. They even prepared breakfast for us before time when we had to leave early in the morning. We just wished there were sunbeds and umbrellas directly at the beach.
