Beautiful winery, beautiful scenery. Charming & quaint and the history of the property and its start is interesting! Loved the wine. Purchased several bottles and gave 2 as gifts. The church is gorgeous and tranquil. The statues and woodwork and stained glass are so lovely. We went before Christmas in December 2021. The weather was perfect. If I'm ever up that way again, I will insist on a tasting at New Clairvaux!

The Abbey of New Clairvaux is a place where peace pervades. It's an escape from all the havoc life brings. Rooms are available for those who wish to stay for a few days. The vineyard wines available for purchase are great. The public can attend services here and pray the Liturgy of the Hours with the monks, who have dedicated their lives to work and prayer for humanity.

Probably one of my most favorite places in Northern California. A wonderful peaceful place, a great winery to boot! This place had a big part in my conversion when they were building the chapel a few years back. A must stop for anyone who likes good wine, quiet reflection or a good place to pray. The grounds and church are beautiful all year round, but the fall is my favorite time.

Tasting room staff extremely knowledgeable not only about their wines but wines in general and especially the Chico area AVA. Tasting was phenomenal. Why and cheese presentation was delicious. I would list this in the top 10 of the wine list I visited over the last 14 years. Highly recommend their wine club! Special thanks and acknowledgment to Jeff and Bill. If you go there for a tasting ask for either one of them for excellent time.

We had an amazing Docent, Bill Smith who is a very knowledgeable historian. Another docent, Lisa, gave information about the architecture of the structures. We were honored to have Brother Louis join us. We were blessed to have him play the organ for us.

It's been a while since I stayed in this wonderful peaceful place and would do it again and stay for few days. It's a place to find peace and solitude and away from all the noise and stressful city life. No cell phone allowed or shouldn't be using it for there's no wifi connection anyway. I did a lot of reading and put things in perspective. They provide base meal so I suggest to bring your own that will last your entire stay if you're the picky kind..and if you're lucky enough you might be able to talk to one of the monks for some spiritual advice.

The monks here are so serene and a joyful place of respite. Fr. Paul Mark is sincerely one of the few chosen to lead and teach on this earth. Worth a visit.

Definite oasis in the midst of alot of noisiness in the world today. Stayed the weekend for a retreat with an outside chapel organization but can come on the grounds anytime to visit the St Cecilia's chapel, walk around the vineyard or groves, shop at their little store, and enjoy the peace. Not all areas are open to the public but they have signs for visitors. Worth the trip, a great morning or afternoon trip for anyone.

Very historic place. During our tasting we were giving amazing history of the place and people involved in creating the place. A very historic place indeed for wine in California

Their wine is delicious. Become a member and go to their lobster feed event. You won’t be disappointed.

It is calm place.. i was travelling from redding to bay area.. it is a nice stop.. we cant go into the abbey...but the new church is open to public, but only on certain time.. i was looking for exit and mistakenly got into the abbey.. i was little scared though... the monks were cool and show me way out.. i felt happy to be in a historic place, though it was by mistake...

Beautiful grounds. Spent a nice hour. Worth planning a time to hear the monks chant for a few minutes.

Beautiful, peaceful, prayerful. Great for spending a few days in prayer and silence. Bring earplugs if πŸš† train noises bother you at night.

πŸ‘ Beautiful place to take pictures, lots of people go here for fishing and boating. Not that kid friendly due to the dangerous nature of the river. North side of the park needs some attention from the groundskeepers and from us people that come to this beautiful place, there’s trash and lots of beer...

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Top notch wines, orchards, vineyards, and a beautiful church with history. In fact the entire property has a history worth learning about. Great place to stop on your way north or south through California.
