This hiking area was burned during the 2018 Camp fire and is hardly accessible anymore; wouldn't recommend visiting, unless you want to witness the destruction firsthand or help out the locals of Paradise, California in some capacity. For those interested, there is a 2019 documentary titled, "Fire in Paradise," that's worth a watch. It's disheartening that so many lives were lost and otherwise affected because of the negligence of the Pacific Gas & Electric Company, and perhaps even geoengineering.

The flumes do not exist anymore!! The road is steep and deeply rutted!! There is no hiking anymore and it's not good for children!! At least 2 persons were taken out by search n rescue this summer!! One in a body bag!!! Several vehicles lost oil pans due to the dangerous rutted road!! Extensive logging has been carelessly done since Campfire leaving trails all destroyed and difficult to traverse!! Don't expect to find what is shown in pictures that's from years ago a different time!!

This destination is not the beautiful hike it was before the fire in 2018. The road is deeply rutted and best driven w at least all wheel drive. The parking lot is fine and the gate to the flume trail is open but the flume canal is no longer flowing and the area is in general disrepair.

I can't believe this place has been so close to me yet I had never been. Well worth the drive! Cars beware! Massive potholes. Park near the top or you may break or tear something out under your vehicle. Enough chat, let the pictures do the talking...

Turn right upon entry for an exhilarating walk across one of the scariest, most beautiful life moments that only NorCal can provide!

Beautiful. Not sure if I'd recommend taking your dogs unless they behave really well. There's tricky places to walk and idk if most dogs would. Ours did. So its not impossible. I'd go back.

Very gorgeous place, but affected by the fires in paradise. Many of the pathways were destroyed and the water along the trail is no longer running. There are several little trails down to the water and look out points, but they are pretty steep. Would recommend another hike until the waterways are fixed

It's a rough hike down but worth it! I almost don't want to share this because it's so special and private. We had the whole place to ourselves all day! Newts, river frogs, dragonflies of all sizes and colors, beautiful serpentine cliffs and gold specks scattered throughout the riverbed. Clearest water I've seen (aside from my homeland in Hawaii) all emerald and flickering with light. Blackberries on the way down and slicers and chunks of serpentine souvenirs on the way back up. PLEASE respect the natural beauty and preserve the delicate ecosystem beng mindful of your interactions with your surroundings, leave the wildlife be and preserve this magical place for the next folks to visit (including me!) Obviously, don't leave any trash or remnants of your stay and be careful! The rocks are SUPER slippery (Im not some kind of gatekeeper - Just seen what happened to my home on Oahu because of disrespectful tourists and it breaks my heart)
