Hank's Meadow is one of my favorite places at Quabbin Reservoir. It has 4 or 5 picnic tables facing the water. It is set back from the road. I like to go there with a book and often have lunch there. A short walk will bring you down to the water where you can sit on big rocks and enjoy the beauty and peacefulness.

What started as a hot humid day slowly turned into a beautiful summer afternoon. Picnicked at Hanks Meadow and then followed the blue blaze trail. Loons called from the water and an eagle flew overhead. Doesn't get much better.

Hank's Meadow is a quiet stop in the Quabbin. It's a popular place to pop up a canopy and hang out for the day and picnic. An out house is available in the parking area. In season you can find blueberries and grapes in the lower fields on the Wal to the water's edge. There is a small "beach" area by the water where kids can enjoy playing. There are trails in the area to hike. And you can see old stone walls in the woods.

The parking lot is closed during the winter. There is room for 4 or so cars to park across the street by Gate 53

Outstanding leaf-peeping excursion around the Quabbin Reservoir, a must see and definitely worth a return trip!

So peaceful and the path down to the water is an easy 1.25 miles. And the walk back to the car is easy and not steep.
