Great hotel, the staff were so helpful with everything we needed. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. You get bottled water, soap and toothpaste. The service was brilliant, great management and I cannot recommend this hotel more. The staff even printed our bus ticket for us at 4.30am- really helpful! The wifi was fixed on request and it was extremely fast- suitable for working! Location is great, in a very busy area but the rooms are peaceful. Lots of food and shops close by. I definitely recommend staying here in Chennai.

As a solo female traveler I highly recommend this hotel. They offer you many facilities, the room was very clean and the staff is very attentive and genuinely concerned about your well being and safety. I was stay with two nights and three days with family. The hotel room is very clean especially the toilet. They maintain daily. The staffs are friendly. Next time when I goto Chennai at that time I will stay in this hotel

Pathetic experience. They are looting the customers. I went there 2 times in 3 months . They raised the rent too much. Also they didn't provide bill when I checked out. Receptionist demanded extra money for giving me the bill. Highly unprofessional behaviour. They lie about the availability of rooms for more money. I booked non-ac room but when I reached there they refused to give that room saying that rooms are not empty. Then they gave AC room on high charges.

Clean and tidy rooms. Clean cupboards and amazing bathroom! Beats all other hotels that cost 1.6k-2k per night. Budget friendly rooms with A/C. High speed wifi and room cleaning done everyday. Truly great 6 night stay! Definitely a good place to stay with restaurants nearby as well.

Good spot in the historic Fort George area. Clean, good a/c, lots of hot water, great staff, strong wifi. Lots of places to eat and purchase items nearby. Close to the metro. Highly recommended.

Very supportive manager and staff. We did stay in a quadriple room , A/C. Wash room is very clean. Well maintained. A/C in good condition. Mainly, the room charge was very reasonable. They had a vehicle rent service too. So it was easy for us to reach the airport on time. If you want a clean room with a supportive staff, I think this is one of the best in that area.

This Hotel is present in a very shady area in Mannadi street. When we reached the hotel the receptionist denied us of availability of any rooms inspite of us having made a prepaid booking through Agoda. They said they can shift us to a different hotel of their contact with a same price. We were okay with the solution until when the receptionist questioned us about our relationship and then straightaway denied us for the stay because we were unmarried couple. We tried mitigating with the property owner since it was midnight 12.30 am through call but he as well vehemently denied us of any solution. The hotel's page in Agoda nowhere mentions that it doesn't allows unmarried couples. We had to call Agoda customer care and report about this hotel. Fortunately they gave us a refund and have taken this case into account. Choose this hotel at your own risk, you may get stranded.

Last three years I frequently stay at this hotel because of Staff’s Caring, Clean Rooms and Rest rooms, Reasonable Pricing and location. Manager is very good person like a family member .Everytime he guided me nicely for travelling in the city. Manadi metro station and Chennai beach local station nearby. For Mariners the Chennai MMD is very near to walk.You can try tasting wide variety of food dishes in this location.if you are a food lover definitely it will be a good place to try... Staffs are very concerned about Guest safety.

I recently spent 4 nights at this property. The property is located at a busy street where there are plenty of restaurants close by. Room service team are doing a fantastic job around the clock to ensure the entire place is clean and tidy. Only thing I noticed needs improvement is their WI-FI, it’s horribly slow and won’t connect at times.

Stayed at SM mansion last week over all experience was very good, neat and clean rooms, good linen, well maintained wash rooms and well behaved staffs. Going by taxi is will be a small challenge but will get plenty of autos.

One of the best places to stay. Budget friendly AC room. The room is very clean. A cupboard is available. Hot water is available. The bathroom is also very clean (definitely beats other hotels in the same range). Stayed for only one night, so can't say much.

Service is good. Call them and book rooms. AC room was really good. Non AC also was good. 5mins walk to mmd.

The rooms are clean when compared to the hotels we had stayed before.The staffs are really very helpful. They try to fulfil our needs like buying eatables from the shop when we are tired to go out. Whatever doubts we have regarding our trips can be cleared from them particularly how to reach places. It would be better to walk and reach Beach station railway station and go to the places we want. Some automen are there to cheat us, so don't fall a prey in their hands.

We are so happy and felt lucky to have our stay at S M Mansion... so pleasant rooms and 24/7 AC and Hot water... Just awesome facilities... so much cooperative staff, though we don't know Tamil, the staff made us to feel comfortable in speaking with them... We felt safety for ladies too. We are total 4 members took 2 double bed rooms and very much satisfied with all the services. The price was very cheap. Finally I would say, in our next visit our hotel stay would be S M Mansion without a second thought. Thank you so much SM Mansion for your amazing facilities..

S.M. Mansion - by name we were not impressed but while gone through the reviews, visited therr half mindedly still. But on visit there, pleased with the courtesious approach by the staff and cleanliness of the rooms, stayed there. Simple but decent facility (no alcohol allowed which is also a reason for the cleanliness) with affordable tariff. Suggest to anybody including the families.for a decent stay. 1.5 kms opposite to the high court. 24 hours hot water. Drinking water, towels, soaps provided.

Had stayed for just 1 day.. the property is situated at the centre of everything.. you can access the beach and railway station in about 10 mins via a vehicle.. the service was also good.. there is a lift as well to access till the 4th floor.. room was clean and well maintained with free hot water and wifi facility

Overall value for money. Located inside a shabby lane in market area. Neat and clean with good service. Room size small. Reception staff asking for check out much before time over and asking to give good review are the negative aspects. Located walking distance from Chennai beach railway station and Mannadi metro.

This room was pretty good and clean,hygienic.They give you everyday room cleaning facility.You even get free wifi over here.This mansion is located very close to Chennai port.So its good for those candidates who come to give merchant navy related exams in chennai.Hot water facility also available.Almost all the rooms are good and Lift facility is available. The only drawback is that they don't have proper parking facilities for 4 wheelers but anyway it's chennai so its less space everywhere In the heart of the city. Overall it's a good experience.

Fantastic, underrated budget option hotel. The service was better than 5* resorts, with staff willing to help with anything you need, 1 call to reception and someone was at my door in seconds. Cleanest rooms, with the cleanest bathroom I’ve seen in india yet. Staff are constantly cleaning the hotel, scrubbing the walls and checking to make sure all is ok. Air con good, WiFi is great, chargers work perfectly. Lift for people who struggle physically Stayed 7 nights, I couldn’t be happier with the Service, asked for my room to be cleaned and they completely changed and cleaned everything, all complimentary. Definitely a diamond in the midst of stones. Hot water had a problem but was resolved as quickly as possible, but inconvenient at times. Location is residential, not much for European tourists - E.g bars, restaurants- it’s in a Muslim colony so quite restricting on choices in area. Had to get tuktuk to go anywhere for food, drinks, sight seeing- for the price however it’s worth it

We have booke quartile room of 4 people. The rooms are average sized and bathroom is very tiny. But they maintain it with so neat and clean. The behaviour of the staffs are impressive, they gave extra two hours for check-out. The location is just walkable distance from "Chennai beach" railway station. So many food options are available nearby. Overall it's value for money

Am not stayed overthere... came to vist friend of mine... Vistors not allowed in this hotel... if visitors comes also they were charging extra 200inr this is not fare... if guest stays overnight can charge.. extra... it's make sensibility... thankyou
