I have this craving of South Indian food after a busy day. My local friends brought me here. This is one of those places where you can have a good view of the mountain with tasty South Indian food. The people work here are also nice and friendly so you may want to come back again to this place. Just simply order anything and trust that the food will be good. The best part is my friend was so craving for this masala dosa we ordered that she didn't even let me take a pic before taking a bite. Its that good.

It's actually soul satisfying food. The focus is south indian food. The freshest yummiest lightest food we had here. Glad I read the reviews and visited this place. I tried 4 things n it was pure bliss. Balanced on spice & oil. Kudos to the chef and the limited people running this place.

Southern Souls Cafรฉ has some of the best dosas and idlis I have ever had (see empty plates). Crispy dosas, fluffy and soft idlis, and amazing chutneys to dunk both. Everything is cooked like at home and very fresh. Definitely a culinary highlight of my second trip to India. The next time I come to Manali, I will definitely make sure to stop by here again.

Good food, Good People!!! Stands true to their name! Heaven for South Indian food lovers when in Manali. One of the only place to serve lip-smacking and wholesome pure veg South Indian food in all of Manali. Must try their Mix Veg Paniyaram (Twice I had it & forgot to click a pic it was so tasty). Loved connecting with the host and owner of the cafe Mr.Kranthi Bhardwaj. Place is simple yet have real good chill vibes being close to nature, open air garden sitting literally with the view of snow clad mountains afar & cool breeze under the shade of cedar trees! Must Try: Mix Veg Paniyaram Masala Dosa Idli Sambar Rasam Mix Veg Uthappa Podi Dosa Filter Coffee And yes their sambar and coconut chutney on the side are the best!

Best South Indian restaurant in Manali for sure! Amazing ambience, good food but the standout for me was the hospitality of the owner. Itโ€™s a cute little place near Hadimba temple, worth paying a visit. We were in Manali for two weeks and badly craving for good South Indian food and finally got it here! Must try Filter coffee !!!

Over the few years Iโ€™ve grown extremely fond of the south Indian cuisine (apart from Idli, Dosa). So, when we came to Manali and my brother saw that there was a restaurant by the name Southern Souls which had the best rating, he insisted that we visited the place. To have the highest rating or recommendation, one would think of a cafe to be high end and flamboyant, so did I, but to my surprise the place was just the opposite, as close to roots and nature as it can be. After few minutes of waiting, we were told that they were sold out but the owner, who is so humble to call himself a waiter, told us that heโ€™ll not let us go empty stomach. We took whatever he could provide us and just kept on craving for more, Kranthi ji and his wife fed us more than we could eat but we were still left craving for more so we decided to come back pretty soon. Every South Indian dish on the menu is a must try. The hotel has beaten good five star hotels in not only Manali, not only Kullu or Shimla, but the whole state of Himachal to be a top rated restaurant, mind you not a top rated south Indian restaurant but a #1 restaurant across all cuisines. P.S.: If you have some time on hand, please spend some time sitting with Kranthi Ji and youโ€™ll probably end up having one of the most meaningful conversations of your life.

Food: Food here is clearly awesome. Fresh, flavourful, hygienic. Ambience: Open sitting with a view pine forest. Perfect to enjoy food and chill. Host(Kranthi): Jolly guy, who will make you feel invited, to say the least.

A place where you will find the hosts with pleasing personalities, hospitable and very well spoken. The food is much better. Itโ€™s delicious, authentic and cooked carefully with very less oil, which is an unusually amazing effort in South Indian cuisine. I recommend this place highly.

Nice and simple place with Great South Indian food! We were a group of 6 and let the owner choose for us 6 dishes for sharing. It was so tasty and we immediately ordered 3 more dishesโ€ฆ๐Ÿ˜‹ If you like South Indian food - go there and you will not regret it.

Ohh man! This place took me back to my South Indian taste buds. Everything here is good. Try whatever you want, you wonโ€™t be disappointed. Kranti and his super cute 1 year old helper Sidhant who runs the place are one of hell of a duo! I think he is the only guy in manali who doesnโ€™t have attitude. On top of this he explains about the food while serving. Kudos to couple for running this amazing food heaven! Would recommend 100%!

Great place to taste some authentic South Indian food in Manali. Food served with lot of love. Enjoyed their Idli, Dosa, Butter fried Idli and refreshing filter coffee. They won't do takeaway and want their clients to enjoy fresh food. The one less star is only because I personally found it expensive for South Indian food. Having come from a trip to Madurai recently, it felt a lot lot expensive. Sure it could be still one of the less expensive places in Manali to have South Indian food but It just makes me wonder how expensive in general it is to have South Indian food here. If they make it more reasonable then they would have many many more patrons I'm sure and also make it more appealing. We loved the laid back ambience and enjoyed our visit.

Without any doubts as the world moves forward towards quick meal and burgers the word "taste" is almost lost.... Southern souls cafe will take you back to the time when the all the food is served hot and brings that taste to your plates. Everything is a must try, you will never find such good south Indian food in manali elsewhere. Do try filter coffee at end.

If you're looking for simple authentic south Indian food in Manali, this is your place. A 170m uphill walk from Hidimba temple to this place is totally worth it!! The food eases all your pain and hunger. We ordered masala dosa, podi idli, podi dosa, tomato uttapam, butter idli, veg paniyaaram, and filter coffee. None of them, I repeat, none of them disappointed us. Saambhar and chutney are also very saatvik and delicious. The staff is superrrr humble, they just upped our overall experience with their humility.
