I started this trek at around 8:30 AM. It's quite easy because you mostly climb stairs to get to the top. The views along the way are absolutely stunning, and the weather was perfect. There are two ways to reach the top. You can take a vehicle on one side or walk on the other side. I chose to walk, which made the journey more enjoyable and gave me a closer connection to nature. Once you reach the top, you'll find a peaceful temple and Tipu Sultan's summer estate. They add a nice touch to the trek. Plus, you can grab some tea, coffee, or water at the top to recharge. Overall, it's a wonderful trek that takes about 3-4 hours if you take it easy. I had a great time, and I think you will too!

There may be more than 1500 steps, as it is not used regularly can see small steps in some point. Nice to use steps to enjoy nature. Early morning is recommended time to climb up.

Excellent Place. Waking up at 3 to visit this place is all worth the effort. Well maintained clean spaces. Well built trekking route. Clean & budget friendly Hotels. Must visit if you stay in Bangalore. Note: please don’t buy food at Circle/Cross which comes around 6-7 kms before reaching the point. As it’s expensive. The Food/Beverages at the Hill top is unexpectedly budget friendly than the restaurant in the Outskirts.

We had gone with zero expectations on this trek as this was our Plan C but to say that this was FANTABULOUS would be an understatement. The weather was perfect to the last T! We felt like we were floating in the clouds! The steps can get a bit difficult to climb for someone who's not in a fit shape, so I'd recommend checking your fitness levels before you start. Eat something before you start the climb. Take plenty of water (and some electrolyte solution, if you can). We sucked on Polo as we walked. Winter would be a better time to climb. Start early, if you can. Take the route along the second rampart, it's a scenic one. There's food available at the hilltop, so that's a big plus. If you're driving back, it can get a bit challenging, go prepared.

I'm a local and I just love nandi hills. This starting point needs a proper parking space allocation. Since there is a lot of tourist influx the space needs to be managed. The climb all in all is easy. The way up is pretty good with no bushes or thorns. Though the steps could be made more uniform by our tourism department as there are a lot of uneven and slippery steps this seems to be decent. The view on top is breathtaking and it's worth the climb.

Trail is about 2km but it takes approximately 1 hour to reach the top. There are steps all the way till top. Steps are of various sizes hence it makes the hiking a bit difficult at times. Parking is available on road side. No washrooms available on the way up. It’s worth the view.

Awesome Experience. If you want to visit this place, a nice time is 4-5AM. After that long queue you have to face it. You will also face problems in using the washroom as you have to carry cash. They will charge 10 for 100 cash withdrawals just near the washroom, it is their way to make money 😂. 25 fee for parking. Lot of place for parking.

Very beautiful trail, lots of stairs to climb. It took us (average fitness) about 1.5 hours all the way to the top from the parking lot. There are trees providing shade along most of the path. The climb to the top is approx 2 km. Unfortunately many places along this beautiful hike were littered with plastic.

Had huge experiences getting to the point! We missed the sunrise! That's what it's so famous for! Coz of crazy traffic and unorganized setting of the Govt. Highly recommend to start driving from 2-3 am. Actually it's only 1:30 hr drive from Bangalore main city, however the traffic patrol by the Karnataka state at Nandi hill is way terrible.. that let to missed our chance to see the sunrise even we woke up and drove early! They won't let to take plastic drinking water bottle, no food, and had entry fee as according to age group. However had nice view on top. And good easy trail. ! I wished they have reservations per vehicle entry so it won't be too crowded and nobody could missed their chance to see the sunrise. It's like first come first serve at the moment ! Awful set up and very unorganized setting by the Gov. ! Beware of monkeys. !

One of the best trek near Bangalore for beginner. It has around 1600 steps. I have been to Nandi hills multiple times but this was the first time I went for trekking. And I must say that the real beauty of Nandi hill can only be seen when you trek to the hill top.

Nandi Hills, one of the most loved places to visit near Bangalore within the 100km distance radar is the city’s very own hill station. Located at a height of 1,455meters, the hill ranges have an ancient fortress from Tipu’s rule perched on top, as well as couple Shiva Temples that grace the foothills and at the peak. The serene environment, well-maintained pathways add to the ease with which you can experience the place. Soak in a fresh air close to the city and indulge in leisurely strolls. A perfect getaway, the rolling slopes of Nandi Hills are most attractive to nature enthusiasts and adventure lovers. Many are seen taking a hand gliding flight from here. Tandem paragliding is also on offer. Spot some natural habitats like rare species of birds, reptiles, and insects that thrive in these moist grasslands. Plenty of trekking trails are another way to experience the scenic beauty of Nandi Hills. If history appeals to you, Tipu’s Drop, Tipu’s Summer Palace, fort, horse way, secret escape route add to the charm of the place. You could also stay over at Nandi Hills as there a few accommodation choices and refreshment joints too.

Nandi hills trekking is an awesome experience compared to the normal route. The trekking consists of steps and fantastic views after reaching some point. It is a easy to moderate trek and can be completed in an hour. Best time to visit early morning or late evening. Please do not litter.

Best way to enjoy the serenity of Nandi hills. Usually people flock to Nandi hills in the vehicle route which is always overcrowded but this trekking route is memerizing. We started to climb at 6AM and we were slow so that we enjoy the enroute. Still we reached the top at 7:30 AM The entire trek has foot steps in stone and is a easy trek for family. Not crowded and but you could see many making a trek.

They opening the gate too late these days like after 6 am issuing parking ticket at checkpost it self that takes time even more like 1 hour total you'll reach my 7 or 7.30 am at view point. Doesn't matter you come early in the morning or just in the morning.. total disappointed by the service of local police and forest department or Karnataka tourism department.

Best time to visit are June to August during monsoon and also in winter season Dec to Feb mid. Good trek to start for Beginners. We can climb the hill in minimum 1 hour to max 2 hours. Scenic nature in mid, while hiking. Early morning hike is best one, during the sunrise time. Horticulture department of Nandi hills, tourism department need to take action in clearing unwanted bushes, thorns while hiking..

Moderate trekking to reach the beautiful hill top. There are lots of steps which is about 3km. Make sure you take water when you start trekking because there won't be any places to buy on top. You can get some good tender coconut at the starting point. Make sure you don't run and climb if you are beginner and its always better to climb early morning as once the sun comes up it would be difficult to climb. Beautiful scenery on the way. This is best trekking to start with for beginner. There is ample parking space.

Good trekking experience. We started at about 6 AM just as the daylight was breaking out. If you plan to start a little earlier (5:30 AM) carry a powerful torch. We did not find any secure parking place at the starting point. It took about 50 mins for the trek to the top. The mist covered Nandi hills at the end of the trek was worth the effort.

This trek offers a stunning experience for trek lovers, with parking for approximately 15 cars. The ascent to Nandibetta's peak involves a 550-meter climb on stone stairs, making it relatively easy, taking about 1 hour. However, there's a slight monkey issue near the top, so avoid loose items like bananas but bring water (1.5 liters per person) and chocolates.

A nice and easy trek, not even a trek it is just some stairs go up up and up but worth doing it. Not many people go by trekking, people go by cars and Nandihill is most popular tourist spot near Bangalore. The trail ends at Nandihill at the point of tipu sultan summer lodge. Plenty of parking is available, not many people go by this trek. The trek is mostly covered under trees but still better if do it in the morning. It is short trek ideal for beginners.

It's a nice hike to go around Bangalore specifically free of cost. Around 1000 steps to climb and walk through some wild patches and you'll reach to Tipu Sultan's summer place. On the way you'll find some ancient structures and temples and on top usual Nandi Hills experience. You should be careful with the reptiles around while climbing for personal and their safety. Overall a good short escape from the daily chores and for consumption of fresh nilgiris aroma around you. Note: leave early for viewing clouds on top.

This is an ancient path, not directly visible. You need to take a concrete road that looks narrow and as you cross few 100 metres you will see a wider road which takes you to the entry point .. steps. You will have to climb hundreds of steps to go to the hill top. There are small temples or historic halt points enroute. We went half way and returned, as kids felt hungry. Better to go early and carry some food stuffs.

Nice place for a day picnic where kids also can enjoy utmost. Very cool breeze and pleasant environment. Route has lot of hair pin curves which can be enjoyable while driving but to be cautious at the same time. Tippu summer palace and 600yrs old Nandeeshwara temple can be seen at the top of Nandi Hills. Just 60Kms from Bangalore and the road is very good. Plan to visit Adiyogi as well which is around 20Kms from Nandi Hills.

The place was previously used by the famous ruler Tipu Sultan as a summer retreat, and several traces of the Sultan’s life and legacy can be found in the area. His summer residence can still be found in Nandi Hills. The house was called Tashk-e-Jannat, whose painted walls, intricate archways, high pillars and artfully crafted ceilings attract tourists and visitors even today. Nandi Hills is also home to some famous temples and shrines such as the Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and his companions- Parvati and Nandi. This temple is also an architectural wonder and pilgrimage spot because it is one of the oldest temples in the area. Apart from its historical sites and heritage monuments, Nandi Hills is also famous for its trekking trails, cycling routes and adventure sports such as paragliding. It is truly the perfect place to enjoy a peaceful retreat from life in the city and take in some of the best views the countryside has to offer. Hike up to the Nandi Hills through the trails covered with natural scenic beauty. Visit the incredible Jaramadagu falls encircled by lush, in the Chikkaballapur region. Get a chance to cycle along the hills on the natural pathway. Visit the Amaranarayana Temple and get spiritual insights and vibes and witness the marvelous Tashk-e-jannat, a palace brilliantly carved pillars and beautifully painted walls. Seek peace and quiet away from the chaotic world at the cave near the spot and get a chance to be amidst the clouds at the ‘envy of the heavens'. Nandi Hills is one of the best vantage points from where one can enjoy the glistening sunrises and sunsets.

Amazing trek at nandi hills. Though it's classified as a beginner trek, i wouldn't recommend it to absolute beginners. It is obviously doable but some pushing/motivation will be required. The minimum requirement for people is atleast some form of cardio training. Takes about 1.5 hours to go up and about 30 minutes to come back down. Early morning is the best as you will feel the sun slightly later on. Take your time. Rest when you need to. And more importantly, enjoy it.

One of the best and Good place to visit in the winter and Early Morning. we Have to reach there before 6 am to watch the beautiful sunrise. Beautiful and scenic views, reasonably managed and maintained place, could be better. Digital payment mode either not available or may not work due to limited connectivity. Ample car parking available. Restrooms are not clean and not maintained. Limited options for food are also available. Never the less, a go to place if you want to enjoy driving in midst of greenery and love nature. Highly recommended! It's a spectacular view. There are good restaurants here for refreshments. Parking facilities are available. The gardens and the lake are beautiful spots for photography. Beware of monkeys and take care of your belongings. Listen to the weather reports before going here in winter as sometimes it gets too foggy and difficult to drive.

Breakfast options available near the highway. While coming from Hebbal try not to get off the NH where Google suggests. Instead, go further and then take a left U-turn to come back about 200m to the road leading to the Nandi village. Saves a lot of time and avoids bad roads and an extra level crossing.

Usually you will see more this area always cool and cloudy especially in morning. You can see nice sun rise and kindly avoid going there during weekends try to go on weekdays only. And you may not get good food on the hill but what ever available can satisfy your needs . Also you can book your stay over there which is really good(visit their website). Basically it's an historical place where tippu sulthan used to stay here and kill opponents by throwing by top point of the hill which is called as tippu drop. Over all this place is very good for sightseeing, you will really enjoy green nature filled with mist and cloudy weather. If you go here with two wheeler that will give more joy to your ride. 🏍️🚴‍♀️. Try to avoid going with cars there will be too much traffic. Don't litter the place please

Do not go on weekends if you don't like crowds. Take lots of breaks so that it won't be overwhelming.
