Amazing green park which gives you a birds eye and panoramic view of Santiago city. 👌 The skyline offers breath taking views of the snow capped mountains encircling Santiago. The statue of Immaculate Conception is at the top of a hill. You can take the stairs or use the cable car to reach there. There are trekking and biking trails available for enthusiasts. Kids will enjoy the zoo and view points. Plenty of refreshment shops around for any requirements. Modern landscaping adds to the lovely ambience. You are in touch with nature and the clean and green surroundings add to the atmosphere. This is a perfect place to get the best views of Santiago city and the surrounding areas. The sunset views were amazing. Also, its a good place to unwind and do nothing for a while away from the concrete jungle of Santiago! Overall a memorable experience with my local friends and well worth a visit for tourists.👍

This is a world class urban park enabling people to escape the traffic, noise, and city congestion to get a breath of fresh air and take some time in nature. We loved the funicular (the longest and steepest I’ve ridden in the world!), as well as the teleférico, and both make it possible to conserve your energy for hiking in the park itself. The Japanese Garden is lovely and the zoo is entertaining even if mobbed with screeching children.

Signs in the park say this is the largest urban park in Latin America. I believe it, because it's massive! You could spend a day or two exploring the entire area. The park has so many trails, gardens, playgrounds and general amusements to keep you busy. Hiking all the way to the top for sunrise or sunset is magic. It'll take some time and effort but it's so worth it. Running or biking up will be your workout of the week. Bring lots of water and snacks because there's not much cover. Cars can't go up so plan for some effort!

The combination ticket going up the funicular and down the cable car was a lot of fun. The views of the city and seeing how large Santiago is was amazing. I wish we would have spent more time here but was worth it just for a couple hours.

Went to bike and to hike. Took the sky train too. Beautiful place with great views, even when the mist is thick over the city. The statue of the virgin Mary and church on top of the hill are gorgeous. Would have liked to go to the Zoo as well but did not have time. Great place to bring kids of all ages too. Just be sure to ask about the distances and options to move around. Otherwise the little ones could get tired before reaching the playground and other nice spots.

Nature, peace and colors. This place is a must visit location if you travel to Santiago. This green lung brings the calmness for a crowded and lousy city :) The teleferico is absolutely amazing and brings you a cool view of everything.

Very adventurous park. Many ways to get to the top, including a cable car (teleférico)... There are many activities there, places to grab a quick bite, or dessert. Halfway up there is a public pool and all the way up a religious place to visit. They do have bathrooms on each stop. The mountain (cero) has been extremely commercialized and extremely exploited. There are no freebies there. Overall, you have very nice views and some very unsightly cellular antennas especially near and next of the most beautiful and important statue.... Nevertheless, it's worth the visit through the cable car. If you drive, you'll have to park below, but parking is usually available.

Recently repaired cable car bringing visitors to the top of the hill. Nice quiet ride with interesting view of Santiago division with the residential side on one side on the mountain and the populous and industrial side on the other one. The place is very popular with bicycle riders who can either climb the hill (looks hard to me!) Or place their bike on the cable car and ride down (a lot more appealing to me!). Nice family atmosphere with many food stall selling a typical local drink, cotton candy and the likes. I was impressed by a clever way to attract people to throw their trash in the right container!! The container is held by a bright red sculpture of a nude torso. How unexpected in deeply Catholic Chile!! But clearly more efficient then the usual reminders. Good place for a quiet day outside. I might also add that the spontaneous discipline of Chileans to respect lines is unmatched in Latin America. One could easily believe the lines are in USA.

Enjoyable ride with great views. It would be perfect if they would be open until sunset though. We had to return from the top just before the golden hour. They are giving importance to safety all the time. If you would like to be in the cabin only as a couple and if you ask them so, they are being helpful and reserving the cabin just for you. It is nice to have the privacy.

A beautiful park that invites you to take a walk. You have the chance to take the cable car up the mountain or hike along the long sidewalks and enjoy the view.

We had booked the hop on hop off turistik bus. We bought the 2 day pass with the funicular ride up to the top of the mountain. Definitely recommend this. Fantastic time walking around, had lunch then came back down and explored the Bellavistas neighborhood below.

A Park in Satiago. Have a funicular and cable car service to Cerro San Cristobal but was not operational today (Monday). Have buses that take you to 600m below the summit. Very easy walk to summit from the bus stop. After some steps, you get to Immaculate Conception statue. Great point to see the whole city!

I really enjoyed a hike I took with a friend through this park. The road was clear, clean, and clearly organized. I went to visit their Japanese Garden and tried the aerial cableway to the top. Didn't have to wait much, and the service was a delight! Can't wait to see their flowers bloom 😍

This mountain top park is definitely worth visiting. You can ride the tram up and the gondola down. Amazing views of the city.

Fun place to get some nice views of the city within the city itself. I recommend normal running or tennis shoes if you intend on exploring the parks. There are public bathrooms, resting areas, attractions, photo stops, and cafés along the three stations of the monorail. Super safe and great place to escape the city for a bit.

Great experience. We parked on the street close by and walked in. The line was long on a Sunday afternoon. If you don't like lines plan to go early. Lots of places to take great pictures.

Fantastic experience. The views are breathtaking. There is a statue and church on top of the mountain. There's also a café and ice cream for sale

Metropolitan Park has endless sights and activities to engage in. We biked to a Japanese Garden, rode a cable car from Oasis Station to the Virginia Mary statue on San Cristobal Hill, patronized food trucks, and more. This park is twice the size of New York's Central Park and located on a mountain surrounded by the urban cityscape. The sunset is amazing!

Amazing place to take a hike. I would say the trail to the top of the mountain will take you 2-3 hours. The view is worth it, but don't forget to bring a bottle of water.

Good place, good hike, but the food U find upstairs is not so healthy

  • 5/5 David F. 1 year ago on Google
You can get off half way or go to the top, where the statute and the church reside. Ice creams are good and kiosks are available. You can come back the same way or take the venicular down to town.

Beautiful park with gardens, statues, the castle like Victoria tower, and a funicular and cable cars!

The park is amazing, there's a lot of stuff to do and see. Taking the cable car and going to the top of the hills gives you some incredible views of the city. At the time I was visiting, the funicular was under maintenance and was unavailable. The zoo is nice as well, with cool animals like elephants, giraffes, red pandas and lions. Just be prepared to walk uphill a lot and bring water on hot days, because the zoo is entirely located on a hillside and can catch you off guard because of the altitude and dry air. There's also free parking available and a few places to buy food and drinks.

Parquemet provides an accessible and quick escape from the rest of the city of Santiago. The park is part of San Cristobal Mountain, which includes a zoo, a funicular, many kilometers of hiking trails, and many other attractions. If the fog is not too intense, the spectacular views make the steep hiking worth the effort.

Beautiful parks and views over the city and mountains. Highly recommend doing it in the afternoon once the mist has gone. Reasonably priced and fun for all.

The beauty of the ride to the top by the fernicular is amazing it is a throwback ride between a tram and a streetcar up a steep large hill to an amazing view over Santiago. The prices were good and like many places carry diet soft drinks.

An enormous family park with astonishing views of the city and excellent infrastructure. Why just three stars? It’s unreasonably restrictive with bicycles, which can only circulate in certain hours, while private cars and service trucks go up and down as they please, sometimes at very high speeds. The guards are also unreasonably aggressive against cyclists, and often treat them as enemies rather than citizens. It often doesn’t feel like a public park. They have giant speakers on public squares reminding people of the park rules at every moment, and in certain hours you can’t even walk up the hill.

Great overview from most of Santiago. Also a great trek. You will find stunning views from Santiago, mainly near to sunset, besides the park itself. Be sure to have a map with the main attractions both, to avoid be lost as well to use your time in your visit wisely.

An easy going oasis in the middle of an urban setting. This is an abundant green space with amazing views of the city. The cable car is a popular experience and there are also roads, paths, and trails that will get you to the top. The road is closed to cars on weekends making it very pleasant for people to enjoy a more spread out walking experience. Went on a Saturday and, while busy, it was still a very calm and quiet day in the park. I'd love to try the spin bike experience at mid-hill and the downhill trail system. The Japanese friendship garden is free as well and will make your day. Parking is limited at the main park and many people walk from the metro or city parking areas a few blocks away.

A national treasure located right in the middle of Santiago. A natural monument that invites its guests to go on different types of adventures. From rock climbing to picnics, hiking to cycling. Family moments and reflexive walks, contemplating nature's delights in a growing city that never rests. Open and ready to host as many adventurers as possible.

I was expecting to get to the top and see some beautiful nature /park but when you arrive is all concrete with Miami palm trees, crowded , People with so many dogs … very third world . Only good thing is the view of the Andes …and don’t look at the horrible modern “architecture “full of smog of course.

Great experience! We got the cable car up to Inmaculada and then the Funicular down to Bella Vista for a bite. Highlight of our trip!

  • 5/5 Ashlee W. 5 years ago on Google
One of the highest view points in Santiago! Definitely visit if it has just rained as the views are morw stunning becuase the smog does impact how far you can see on a regular day.

  • 5/5 Mark S. 4 years ago on Google
If you are within a hundred miles of Santiago, visit this site! San Cristobal is at the top of the mountain. Well, I am the guy from Miami, so anything more than a few hundred feet feels like a mountain! Definitely go to the top. It will take an hour to Walk. It is worth the time.

Impressive how much attention parks get in Santiago, the organization is very good, and foreign friendly, customer service and guidance is very good, and all the park is very safe! You can choose many places to spend your day or simply go exploring. If you are walking, you can hike the whole park or jump into the many transport options

  • 5/5 Sérgio W. 4 years ago on Google
An amazing place to see the city from above! A peaceful place, best time is in the sunset (for me). There’s some coffee shops and stores in the lower level is the peak. You can get there walking or by funicular (and horizontal elevator).

  • 5/5 Adrian V. 5 years ago on Google
I loved this park. There's lots of places to go meeting around. There you can find a the National Zoo, some pretty nice public pools, practice some sports like soccer, go with your pet, your kids, hike, bicycle, take pictures in beautiful places like the Japanese garden or have a very wide background of Santiago. The view of the city is amazing. It s easy to access to the top by walk, bicycle or car. You can also use the funicular which is a wagon on a rail to get to the next cable hanging car that will take you to a different part of the park. Many places to visit, many things to do. Well recommended.
