it really does feel that the staff are very busy that they forgot to be attention to detail with the customers. when you call them, they can't be receptive as they are under a task, I felt very busy for them and it's tiring to see them running around non-stop. e.g.: welcoming, arrived at the restaurant, the gentleman noticed us, but he was too busy looking at the restaurant and finding something else to do instead of taking care of the welcome. but felt forced to come to us and asked roughly "Do you have a reservation?" straight away... a very cold start from the restaurant. the order was taken quickly, and also good recommendations and very attentive. the attention to detail that we used to have, they would come to us and check if everything was going well, and pour tea whenever necessary. This time, they are in a rush, they want to make sure that you're eating faster, and even want to remove your plate that still has food in it, and this is unacceptable! Food: the quality is still here and maintain a good presentation of it, it's worth the experience within this ambiance.

The food is awesome. Every dish including the appetizers is a winner. It takes a bit of patience to find this hidden gem inside a hotel. But it is worth the effort. Customer service is great. They are attentive without being overly zealous. We ordered the deep fried bean curd with salted egg yoke and fried pork with garlic. Everyone gave it a 5 stars. We also ordered the steamed chicken, pipa tofu with roasted pig, flavored rice and fried cod fish in a clay pot. Every dish is delicious and an epicurean delight. Desserts were a fitting end to a great dinner. This is one place any tourist to HK must made a pilgrimage for food nirvana. Special kudos to the front desk folks who entertained my granddaughter and gave her a sweet.

Yat Tung Heen is an award winning restaurant, and their food is nice, the atmosphere is great. The restaurant is located in the basement of the hotel, it's not easy to find the main entrance of the restaurant. Most people get in there from their hotel lobby, but the better door is located in the parking lobby. Like their atmosphere here, as unlike usual Chinese restaurants, here is less noisy and tables are less packed. Food is awesome, service just average.

A great place for Cantonese yum cha!! It’s a michelin 1 star restaurant and is nicely furnished and elegant not like other local Chinese restaurant that you usually feel packed and noisy. And once seated, clean napkins were given to wrap your used mask. Each person was served with a single teapot so everyone could pick the favorite tea, it’s warmed with the candle stand so wouldn’t turn cold. I personally recommend pu’er to balance off the strong taste of the dim sum. A good variety of dim sum and light dishes to choose from. And of course you gotta try it’s shrimps dumpling and pork dumpling, they are really good! I would also recommend to pick their deluxe selection, the steamed dumpling in soup and the abalone puff. The most surprising dish i has was the jellyfish in mustard, the jellyfish was thick and crispy, very good textured! Overall experience was superb! Due to the social distancing rule it can’t serve many people at a time so please book ahead. I look forward to try its dinner menu soon!

Simple and stylish decoration with modern Chinese paintings. Good waitress service. Food quality: All dimsum were fresh, juicy, hot, crispy & satisfactory, except the Stewed Rice with abalone extract, served in lotus leaves. The rice grains were over cooked. It was too soft & wet with sticky appearance. The only redeeming feature was its large serving size. If you want to chat with friends while relax & enjoy aromatic tea & dim-sum, one will find it annoying. It’s because there were repeated reminders to invite your table return within 1.5 hour time. We couldn’t enjoy. 11:00-12:30 schedule was reserved , yet the first reminder was that the last order was 11:45 & you were invited to check bill at 12:00.

The Crab menu experience is quite the treat here. The delivery of each dish is well paced out. There is no rush to enjoy and saviour each dish. Staff are pleasant and discrete. Really enjoyed the evening here. If you are driving there call ahead to claim a parking spot even on a weeknight. This place can be busy with limited parking.

Love their char siew, really juicy. The scallop siew mai taste and texture combination are nice. Fried rice is great. Abalone chicken tart and bird nest dumplings are their signature that is both luxury and delicious. Overall their food is top notch and presented nicely. The taste is not too heavy and the texture is great. But here’s a problem, the staff in suit who take our order is super cranky and annoying. Eventually he forgot to order one of our dish and when asked by the other staff he even say it loudly that we didn’t order it right behind us. He also stopped the staff to bring our dishes to us saying we didn’t order it? However, other staffs are great. Overall I highly recommend this restaurant for an upscale dim sum and local meal.

Very mixed feelings after dining at this place. First I want to commend on the speed of communication when I was trying to make a reservation. The correspondence was fast and they were very nice to accommodate me for the Michelin Degustation menu for one even though it was meant for a minimum of two persons. Location wasn't difficult to find, and we started the dinner as soon as I was seated. It's probably the first time I had a Chinese degustation dinner, or wondering if it is in Hong Kong, the dining environment is totally opposite from normal Michelin restaurants. People are talking and shouting like its a market and the environment is not very conducive for fine dining. To be honest I was quite impressed with the food that was being served and there were a few dishes which were quite memorable. Also felt that the combination of ingredients were quite cleverly done and I enjoyed the chinese dishes with gravy and thought it would be so good to have rice to eat with the food. The only incident which happened and also the first time it happened during a fine dining was some object found in a dish. I was eating a dish when I felt pain on my tongue as though there was a prick on it. Initially I didn't care much and I tried to use the teeth and tongue to remove it and continued eating but I felt a prick again. I decided to use my fingers this time to take the foreign object out and I was shocked I saw something long with sharp edges on it. I reflected to the staff and they had a long discussion and came back and told me that it might be the legs of the prawn, I didn't say anything but it definitely doesnt look like because the colour of the object looks very brown. To me it looked more like some wooden splinter in some kitchen utensils. I also didn't really like the desserts, though the double boiled pear was okay but the marshmallow bunny and the mango roll was quite disappointing. I am not sure if the object was the cause, but after the meal I had diarrhoea for 2 days. The food was not too bad but the qualilty control of the food I felt can be improved.

Very nice set menu featuring crab, and indeed the crab dish was perhaps the best out of the long menu. One of the dishes was supposed to be simmered pomelo skin but we got mushroom instead, we had to chase the manager for the right order. The roast piglet with sticky rice was also good. Also the dessert platter was excellent as well. All around very good meal.

An amazing weekday dim sum experience and it wasn’t even that pricey! The ambiance of this restaurant is so luxe and upscale, with great service. Dim sum dishes were very well done - didn’t feel heavy, complex flavor profiles, beautiful to look at, and some creative options. Would love to come back to try more of the menu.

Classy 1920s Shanghai interiors with well trained customer service. Good quality dim sum, esp steamed BBQ pork rice rolls. Shrimp dumplings are average only, can't really taste the bamboo shoots. Definitely worth a try and should try their star dishes next time.

Visited for a small family meal at lunch. The quality of the food is undisputed for sure! Good, fresh ingredients, good flavours, whether it was dim sum or a main dish. Presentation is simple and convenient. If you are looking for good food, definitely recommend booking a lunch here. The price for main dishes is considerable but reasonable for the quality; dim sum however is great value. The service was a little rushed, but I can chalk that up to the busy lunchtime service. Menu translations are somewhat unusual. The place has a very simple decor, I am assuming with light art deco direction, dim lights between tables and harsh light on the tables.

Award winning & Michelin star restaurant in Hong Kong serves authentic Cantonese cuisine, keeping a lot of tradition with a little modern twist ! Suggest to make booking in advance. Whole dining experience was incredible. From meet & greet, service, recommendations for food, plating, attention to details throughout the whole time to take care of everyone. There’s a lot of highlight on what we ordered. The signature bbq pork was amazingly cooked and seasoned, tender & juicy. All the seafood dishes were very nice too!

Hmmph. I wonder how they get their Michelin star. The food is good but the service stinks! The waiter was impatient, mind you, thinks he is a manager. Wanted to go through the order again with him and was told curtly “sure, sure” without going through the order. Of course, he hurriedly walked off. Otherwise, the set meals were great and we were thankful for accommodating serving two sets for group of five.

First visit as it’s such a famous Michelin one star dimsum place. Food is amazing, one of the best dim sums I’ve ever had in life, not crazily over priced. Very comfortable environment with lots of spaces between tables. Good service level. And able to change appointments through WhatsApp. Highly recommended!

Food and service were excellent but they’re quite strict on seating time limits. They also charged the ‘tea charge’ for kids. The restaurant felt classy and it wasn’t too noisy or crowded so it was possible to have a large gathering but still talk across the table.

Environment is spacious but because it’s in basement, you won’t feel open. Food if it’s Michelin I don’t think it’s worth that price. The vegetarian dish is just very average. Can’t see why it costs HK$218. However the BBQ pork is really good. It’s soft and juicy at HK$280.

Indeed, Michelin Star!! Highly recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It is a must-try restaurant when you are here in Hong Kong. Every cuisine is very delicate from the presentation to the taste. The Prawn Vermicelli Claypot and Cod Fish Claypot are the best I had ever tasted. Wide variety of dim sum freshly made and is super delicious. Top-notch services from all the staff. They are very attentive and helpful. The environment is very spacious with cosy vibes. The decorations are luxurious and comfortable.

Ambience is quite nice. Its Sunday night, service was mediocre. Food is decent but nothing exceptional. The crispy fried chicken is not bad. Char siu was good. They have been offering dinner discount, 30% off and the service and food quality also seems to be discounted at the same rate or more. Makes me wonder how did they get the M one star.

It's been hit and miss. Some dim sums tasted good, but they were all just lukewarm in temperature. Hokkien fried rice was just okay, not worth the price. Services were adequate but not up to hotel standards. The 90-minute time slot for lunch was rushed.

A Michelin one star-rated Chinese restaurant serving traditional Cantonese Chinese food and dim sum. Food: 4/5 traditional setting or plating, nothing innovative. Taste was good. Service: 4/5. Frankie and team were helpful and friendly to guests. Revisit: May be

Visited this Michelin star Cantonese restaurant on a weekday noon during their dim sum promotion ($38up). Good variety of dim sum on their menu. The staff are nice and helpful. We enjoyed everything we ordered. Must make a reservation before you go given it is a popular restaurant!

Very nice Michelin star Cantonese restaurant and always fully booked. Highly recommended Golden fried whole crispy chicken, which serves with steamed pancake and other ingredients similar to Peking Duck. The chicken skin is super crispy and chicken oil taste really good! Steam rice rolls with crispy spring roll and shrimp is also highly recommended with a mixture flavour of Traditional rice roll and fusion spring roll! Free valet parking for 2 hours if spending over $800. Reasonable to people who drive.

Lovely place to dim sum with family. nicely decorated and a good place to go if you want some quiet environment to chitchat. Overall, food is just soso and not really worth the value. P.S we went on a Sunday

  • 2/5 Mina C. 3 years ago on Google
It s definitely overrated! They missed our order without aware of it. It turned out we needed to remind them after waiting over 50 minutes for nothing and those tables arrived later than us were already eating 4 to 6 dishes by then. Recommended dim sums are not as good as reviews mentioned, average quality and not worth the money. However environment is good though. If you are looking for quality dim sum, better go elsewhere as Hong Kong has loads of places offering higher quality dim sum at friendlier cost.

Had their staycation dinner tasting menu and was pretty upset. Food was very overrated. I came here for the char siu and thought the char siu would be more exceptional but honestly a bit of a let down. Was really expected something more decent from this Michelin started resto. The tst of the dishes were averagely good, but not surprising.

Excellent Chinese restaurant. Definitely worth its Michellin star. Lovely cosy vibe. Hotel-class cleaniness. Make sure you make your booking via their website and avoid walk-in as its quite fully booked in regular meal times.
