(Translated by Google) 【20200812】 Depart from Exit A2 of MTR Yau Tong Station, walk two kilometers, and it takes less than 30 minutes to reach the Sanjia Village Old Quarry Site. The quarry where many villagers used to make a living from stone was closed half a century ago, leaving behind half of the unmined stone mountain. It feels quite desolate here, with bushes and weeds growing; on a large rocky beach opposite, there are abandoned small stone houses, broken stone walls, and severely damaged old piers. People who come here may sit on the sloped rocky cliffs to fish, some sit to chat with relatives and friends, some catch crabs and clams by the beach, hope to enjoy the tranquility while watching the clouds and the sea, some come to find the secrets and check in, some climb tall by bare hands. Stone mine wall... Old meet the new... They are giving a new face the old quarry by puting rocks on the seashore that can be a way to the visitors and a resting place near by the sea. Nice spot for couples!😊☺

Beautiful place, tucked away into the corner of Hong Kong. You get great views of the sea and all its expanse. The little fort-like structures and the quarry are also very nice.

由鯉魚門出發,易行,睇日落一流。 Easy walk through the restaurant street and keep going to the temple. Follow the path along the coast. Nice sunset view.

Yes it's a deserted quarry, but it's never a quiet place, at least not in the weekends. Just check out the photos I took today (Sunday) and you'd say the same. It's so crowded and noisy I thought it was a Sunday beach. (It's on the coast but you can't swim here.) I even found people setting up tents here! Dry, fresh breeze from the sea, along with 25 deg C, makes it a beautiful day to enjoy a couple of hours here. If you drive, a new residential building at the entrance is offering $19 per 2 hours parking and is hence one of the best rates you can find in the area. Btw, most seafood restaurants are closed due to Covid.

(Translated by Google) The scenery is beautiful. The cliff level of the rock wall is also wonderful. However, the manners of those who are here are the worst. Especially, PET bottles are thrown away as they are, so there is a lot of garbage everywhere. It seems that Hong Kong people don't care about garbage even though they say this and that. Originally, as a result of quarrying for many years, only the cliff was left at the end. By the way, the reason why the quarry was stopped is not accurate, but it is probably because he did not want to destroy the old military facility above. If you go around by the detour route, you can see the battery of the former Japanese army and the facilities of the British army. If possible, it is better to go with a few people. This quarry originally had various facilities, but since it is aging and dangerous, almost all of it has been crushed. Currently, there are about three rock rooms near the plaza. It seems that the room was also a playroom at night, burning something, becoming a residence for Lumpen, and now it's all sealed with a board. Maybe it will be demolished soon. A small room like a remote island near the seaside is a toilet, but if it is not a pit latrine, there is no sewage, so in fact it is a supernatural specification that drips down as it is. Because it is dangerous, it is also sealed. By the way, as you can see from the map, if you walk along the beach, you can go straight to the ridge. If you don't have the money to get on the train, give it a try. I don't recommend it.

Off the coast with rocks and structures all around. A big grassland as well to just camp. Amazing views of the Sai Wan Ho and Kowloon side. Wasn't too crowded and was a great place to just relax and wind down.

A nice walk by the water very close to people's homes, so be considerate and make sure you don't walk to far onto someone's property ad their dog might come barking at you. The walk all the way to the Quarry includes some climbing as the road is eroded.

(Translated by Google) The Lei Yue Mun Quarry is a desolate area. Walking along the Lei Yue Mun waterfront, passing the Tin Hau Temple and dilapidated villages, passing through the extremely hidden narrow lanes, behind it is another big world. The huge stone mountain is like a natural high wall, majestic and majestic. In front of it, humans appear to be very small. The quarry is overgrown with weeds. There are deserted stone houses on the opposite rocky beach. Looking up, several big eagles are hovering in the air. The quarry gives people a sense of decadence and desolation, attracting many people to enjoy tranquility and take pictures.
